Walking can be difficult if you are dealing with muscle weakness, joint pain or balance impairments. It can be possible to improve on these factors so you can walk with ease. The key is finding the right movements that can help get you there!
This 20 minute follow along, workout is perfect for beginners, seniors and anyone in between. This gentle, low impact workout gets you ready to head out for a walk. It also helps to begin to build necessary balance, stamina, and strength. Join me, Dr. Alyssa Kuhn and my grandmother in law as we go through this follow along workout.

I am 66 years and find difficult to walk due to arthritis. I have followed so many excercises and methods so far nothing worked. But I started following your vedios very recently. I feel that these vedio are perfectly addressed my issue. Now my walking has improved . Thank you so much.
madam .before you do exercise check your diet.avoid all foods no purines contains fats and sweets..then try to do exercise slowly ❤❤❤
Wow! I watched so many PT people on RUclips and honestly you are the best! I did one of your balance videos this morning next to a wall and fell on the wall three times and when I did it again an hour later, I didn’t fall once! Our bodies learned so quickly and body memory is such a good thing. Thanks for the patience you take making these videos and I hope you really hold it in your heart that you’re helping so many people! I walk with a cane and I will be having my knee replaced in a few months time. I've done this set of exercises a few times now and find them great. So I signed up for the 3 day exercise course and did day 1 straight after this again. I'm feeling good. Now doing some resistance band workout on upper body and back. Also I've lost over 8 kgs in the last month of doing more moving and diet. The surgeon will be happy with the outcome after he told me to lose weight.

I started doing these exercises 2 days ago! I really enjoy doing them with you and GMA-in-law!! I’m almost 80 but I took a fall last year that left 2 compression fractures in my back so I have real balance issues 🥰. I’m really hoping these will help🤨. I really like them so far. Thank you to both of you👏🏻.
This was great! I had ruptured tendon & flat foot reconstructive surgery 3 months ago. I was going to PT, but felt the exercises were too advanced. This workout was just enough to challenge me but not too much to discourage me. 👏👏👏

This is EXCELLENT! It covers all the bases and pinpoints areas where there is pain (hip). And, this seems to be a great warm up if the time on movements is cut back...I've had trouble warming up properly before walking, so this seems to really work all the important muscles!😍 And, my tracker says I even hit moderate and vigorous heart rate zones! I have a big toe that hasn't moved enough since my first surgery at age 16, so this is very helpful from an aerobic standpoint for me, too...(I'm nearing 73!)

This looks controlled and totally doable. I have some knee arthritis I’m 51. This looks good for balance too. I’m thinking to incorporate this between weight days and cardio. Thank you for the clear instruction!

Recovering from a fibula fracture, badly sprained ankle and bone on bone knee.my knee and ankle have been so painful and stiff. Since starting doing these exercises the last 10 days I feel a lot more flexibility and less pain. I have been holding myself together with Velcro ankle and knee supports. Today I was more active than usual and never needed the knee support. I am hoping I will be able to postpone needing a knee replacement for a few more years using these exercises. I am also walking so much better. Not my normal but much improved. So very glad I found your videos. Thanks so much.

Can’t wait to try these. They feel safe and doable and at a reasonable pace. Thanks for sharing. I feel that many PT don’t do a gradual build up but expect you to jump right in from 0-10.
modifications and making sure you've master a movement are critical. That's the whole reason I made Adventurers for Life!

I have beeb trying to improve my balance after surgery on my left shin and then falling and breaking my hip on the same leg nine weeks later. Like your grandmother I am not young any more. I managed to do most of your exercises which I was happy about. I am sure if I continue doing these I will hopefully improve my balance and get my independence back.

Wow, 87! I hope I look that young if I live that long! I was walking six miles every other day on a very uneven hilly country road for two years and developed hip pain into my third year, thanks to bone spurs. After intermittent steroid treatment, physical therapy, and a year of minimal yoga, I lost muscle tone and of course some balance. The treadmill isn't enough so I searched for a non aggressive exercise to get back to walking, one 1/4 mile at a time. This video is exactly what I wanted to start with!
