lol how badly did you get grilled for the i dont own a meat grinder comment ? lol not that its a big deal you do you we have a grinder here.. fresh ground meat is best tasting but is is some times easier to buy pre ground meat

after watching this, one thing that is going to be on my list for sure- visit the fast-food restaurants in Japan! Not only do they have more variety but I heard and read that their foods are probably slightly healthier in comparison to the fast-food places in America. I do wish that we do have this in America but sadly, we do not.😢😞
The best fries are the ones I make at home with my airfryer.
Airfryer can be goated for certain things.

That bacon and potato hot pocket is basically a pierogi. 😂 The rice bun and the cheesy mayo is a good idea though.

I think the weirdest part of the menu is the little dot on top of the buns, which is supposed to make it look like a straw hat.

@@CHEFPKR apparently it actually also tastes bad, as it destroys the bread to topping ratio. Going for the looks really seems to not have worked out.

Our friend who is a manager at McDonalds said the window of time of best fry tastiness is something super short - like about 60 or 90 seconds (if I remember right) between when they hand it to you then they start degrading in taste. Peak fresh McDonald’s fries are hard to beat 🍟
We went to Japan in April and were lucky enough to try the Tatsuta burger with rice buns and the potato and bacon pie. The burger is great for two bites and then disintergrates, but was super tasty! The potato and bacon pie is very similar to something we have in Australia which is a cheese and bacon potato cake.

to say something about Chef's question about the fries. I've never eaten at five guys so I can't compare them. BUT, what I CAN say is that I don't really like mcdonald's fries that much, and if I eat them when they're even slightly cold, they will destroy my stomach 😅
Mcdonald's oil be like that though. My stomach is much better with five guys and in n out (even if in n out has horrible fries)

Little thing I thought of maybe some of the inspiration for the rice bun is because one of the characters Law hates bread if it's not then that's okay too just made me think and laugh a little

I saw commercials for this menu. And it all looked soo good! Why is it that whenever an American fast food chain goes overseas, the food looks 100× better than here in the states?

I am not big on fries, but, if we are talking just normal fast food fries, Wendy's is the best (that I have had... never been to Five Guys)
But, barring things like loaded or chili fries, I much prefer curly fries. I know a lot of people dunk on Arby's, but I sometimes go there simply for the curly fries (and then also get a turkey bacon ranch sandwich... which isn't on the menu at our Arby's anymore at least, but they still make it)
The comment of "maybe they think its like gunpowder" comment took me back to my days in boy scouts. in an attempt to not do a long winded explanation like normal, short version is, while taking the shotgun merit badge, we brought a bunch of fruit, including water melons to the range, and shot them, making a fruit salad (being carful not to eat any of pellets that might've gotten stuck) and the gunpowder taste was surprisingly not bad.

I don't watch One Piece and I'm not a fan of McDonald's but I do want to try that burger.
I think they mix an egg into the rice in order for it to stick together and not fall apart when cooking and flipping.

If the McDonald's fries are actually made right, I'd give them a fry win. Usually they're limp and meh. I've had better consistency with almost everyone else.

Yuzu is all but impossible to find here in the States in its fresh form... but bottled yuzu-juice can be found at most well-stocked Asian groceries and the "International" section of your larger mega-marts. Don't let that chef-rule of "If It's Bottled Citrus, It's Crap" throw ya... it's worth it to get a bottle of yuzu juice.
I've definitely bought the bottled stuff in the past and really like it. I mostly tried to make these recipes casual and friendly
@@CHEFPKR Fair enough... I keep ponzu in my own pantry. I can never seem to find even the bottled yuzu where I stay... but if they've got Meyer lemons in the produce section, that might also be a good substitute.
