I usually have a staunch "Do it exactly like the recipe asks first" policy.
Because I like to know what the thing is, and then I try to change it up and make it my own the next time.
On the topic of recipe modification, I'm all in on that. For example, I'm not a huge fan of onions so I'll substitute shallots since they are a lot more mild.
EDIT: Have you considered getting a propane camping stove for your fire? You can hook it up to a grill tank and never have to worry about running out mid-cook.
Cardamom and vanilla are such a great pairing of flavour! I’m sad I haven’t thought of that!
Swear to god cardamom vanilla crème brûlée with some form of lavender sugar/ garnish/ scent would just slap. Anyone can steal this!
Those look delicious! I like the stuff about modifying recipes since it means people people have more chance of making food they usually can't. Like, I watch cooking videos on youtube but I know nobody here can recreate them even if they want to cause we don't have access to the ingredients or they're too expensive.
Also, when I read the video title, I thought this video would feature foods from the show/games but recreated with irl ingredients.
I fully agree with you on the gnocchi plating, and honestly I don't mind a thick sauce for them.

Nice. My hobby shop had this book in a couple of weeks ago and a friend bought it immediately. He's had nothing but good things to say so far and he tried the Dragonite Gnocchi as well .
