Totally should have mentioned it in the video, sorry! It's definitely an option, I even messed around with Custap Berry, Mirror Coat and Endeavor to try and bait Pokemon. I just prefer Stealth Rock and Toxic for consistency, and Surf beats Heatran eventually, while also being a move to use against other Pokemon so it's not a sitting duck. Thanks for pointing it out though, I should've brought it up!
Moral of the story: Corsola can survive an assassination attempt from Heatran because she's got rocks in her head and sometimes the weather is favorable
You forget that I discovered it organically while fishing in Gen 2 and finding out about pokemon like that is a wonderful experience that will make me love a pokemon forever.
As a 24 hour expert on color theory i can chime in on this. The color Pink is a friendly, cute and approachable color which means opponents will preceive Corsola as less of a threat and in turn might not make the optimal play to deal with the threat that is Corsola. The color blue is a calm. reliable and trustworthy color which actually adds an intimidation factor to your Corsola as your opponent will be horrified by the fact that you are condifent enough in bringing a corsola in a serious team comp with a calm demeanor giving away that this is not a bit. As you can see, both regular and shiny Corsola have merit in being used, imo pink corsola is better in low elo where your opponents are more likely to underestimate the threat that is Corsola while blue corsola is better in high elo where the reinforcement of your confidence in corsola will cause an additional intimidation bonus since high tier players are unlikely to have encountered someone insane enough to bring a serious corsola team comp in the higher ladder tiers.
Corsola comes under a category I call "perfect pokemon" very unironically. It is in the same realm as Groudon where both defensive and offensive; physical, special and mixed sets are possible
Mega Corsola with Barrier Reef ability has a built in eviolite effect. It also gets the signature move Attrition which is a 90 power rock move that is also considered a water move. Pretty solid for a mon revealed to me in a dream.
@@tessoll7659 Good to see I took the correct message from this :D Hopefully we don't see Heatran teching that HP Grass for Corsola and no other metagame threats

Why not use Mirror Coat to turn the tables on those pesky HP Grass and Thunderbolt users?

The competitive scene is in absolute shambles
Funny thing is that the stats shown in the video are still overestimating Corsola since it had 10 less Base HP, Def, and Sp.Def before gen 7.

Okay what I gather from this is that Corsola is SECRETLY BROKEN in gen 4 OU because it SHUTS DOWN the tiers STRONGEST special attackers
Absolutely, it has no weaknesses, and should be on every team you use, I guarantee it will work :)
one of those things that could only ever work in the days before team preview
So true. Post team preview would let everyone freely Hidden Power Grass off the rip
