Not a bad video, My mom was born there in 1939....I have spent many summers there.. Surprised you miss the old coal train,,,The water wheel I have played on....The river in front of the wheel, is called Clear creek, Dad and I did lots of fishing in it.....Looks like my quite little town is just a Tourist Trap.......Sad....Thanks.............JB..............
We loved this video. We are visiting Colorado in 2 weeks and Mt Evans were already in your plans but I had no idea we need a formal authorization to get access to it. Another important thing you do in your videos is that you show the small towns and Idaho Springs was not in our plans but now they are for sure. You have been helping us a lot with your videos and information. Thanks and keep going...
Oh this makes me so happy! Thank so much for the feedback. So glad you enjoyed this and found it helpful! Have an amazing time with your visit to Colorado!
Came across your video a week before we went to Glenwood Springs and decided to visit the places you guys recommended. Those places were fantastic! Great job..great video
So glad a stumbled across your video. We are going to be in the Denver area in a couple weeks. We wanted to go to Golden, CO and will also check out these locations while we are in the area. It looks like we will have a great day of site seeing. Thanks for all your great advise!
Mt Blue Sky is the only must-do in the Clear Creek area. Frothy has good coffee as they brew their own beans on site. St Marys is cool but Loch Lamond is free and less crowded.
Started watching your videos recently as my husband and I are planning a trip to Colorado. Can you share more details about obtaining the permit for driving to Mount Evans?
Thank you for this amazing video, we are planning to go to IDAH Springs Co. It is friendly to the kids like 10 years old hiking? Do we need to buy the time entry permit like Rocky mountain?
Love your video! Question about St Mary's Glacier hike...was it rocky most of trail...you said 1/2 mile, right? Also how long did it take you to drive up to Summit of Mt Evan's?
Yes, trail was very rocky. It's .5 miles to the lake below the glacier and then if you want to climb the glacier it's at least another .5+ miles. We spent a couple hours on Mt Evans... we did a lot of stops at viewpoints along the way.. Have a great time and thanks for watching!
Hello! Nice video! liked so much ... one question... when was this video filmed? On July? I'll be there in december until March and i think is it going to be a little bit more snowy hahah... Best regards from Argentina!
Thanks so much! Correct, this was in July! And yes, these mountains will probably be snow covered and way colder during that time. However it will still be beautiful...Have a great time!
I really enjoyed your video. I'm curious about your time/schedule. Can you share what time you started your adventure and approximately what time you started various activities? I understand that your reservation to go to the top of the mountain was a noon. I'm in the process of planning a trip and I would like to to all the things you did =)
Thanks so much for watching! Glad you enjoyed this! We arrived in Idaho Springs at about 7am and we left at about 6pm. Yes, the reservation we got was for Mount Evans was for noon. So we planned our day around that. If you have any other questions, just ask! Happy Trip Planning--you'll love Idaho Springs!
Hello! Where did you stay while in Idaho Springs.. we want to do a day pass at Indian Hotsprings because the resort fee seems a little overpriced.. thanks!
I wonder if there are any natural hot springs you can visit and get into in Colorado?! I know you couldn’t get in any of the hot springs in Arkansas that we saw-they were only available in the commercially operated pools and bathhouses.
Pike's Peak is only a few feet higher than Mt. Evans. Even the highest in Colorado that you can take Jeep trails up to are not even another 100' higher. Don't be mislead by what happened during the pandemic, post pandemic Idaho Springs is extremely busy even on weekdays, no parking, impossible to get into any of the restaurants anywhere close to meal times.
@@JeanieMarie It is! (my mistake) What I found was Pikes Peak is 14115', Mt. Evans is 14130'. I haven't driven up Pikes Peak in a long time, back then it wasn't paved all the way up. They have a new visitor center at the top, maybe they've paved it all. Mt. Bross is the highest, you can drive up to 14178'. I believe it's the highest road you can drive anywhere in the US, but it's a Jeep trail if you are even still allowed to drive all the way up.
Looks like a fun place to spend a day, Get in and Get OUT. I lived there for over 7 years and the young residents were redneck miners and druggies. When the Mine shut down I moved and have not been back since.

Love the little prairie dogs or whatever the cute little brown animals were.
Yes, the marmots are so cute! Thanks so much for watching!

You never touched the water wheel. It's a historical monument. You've never even been there.
The Frothy Cup and Tommyknockers Brewery is on my Bucket List!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks!
Thanks so much! All the best! 🙏

Such a great overview! We were wondering what to do in the area while our daughter is whitewater rafting with friends. This is perfect. Thanks!
Thank you! Yes, Idaho Springs has lots to do and see! Have fun!!
Great video! This is an awesome small town! I was there this past Saturday, and had a great day of rafting, drinking cider and eating pizza!

I can’t wait to see this!! We almost stayed here instead of Estes Park… I’m curious to see what we missed!!
Enjoy!! You just have to come back now! 😅 darn, right?
@@JeanieMarie lol 😂 exactly. Dang it….
Magnificent scenery! Love it!
Greeting from Indonesia.
Greetings! Thanks so much for watching all the way from Indonesia!
Good to know about needing a permit for Mt. Evans now. We went a couple years ago before the pandemic & no permits were required.
Yes, covid changed alot of things for sure.
Nice 👍👍
What time of the year is this vacation trip? It looks amazing!
Started watching your videos recently as my husband and I are planning a trip to Colorado. Can you share more details about obtaining the permit for driving to Mount Evans?
Hi, when did you go there for hiking? Did you stay overnight in idaho spring?
Thank you for this amazing video, we are planning to go to IDAH Springs Co. It is friendly to the kids like 10 years old hiking? Do we need to buy the time entry permit like Rocky mountain?
How was the drive up Mount Evans?
Beautiful!! Loved it!!
Do we need to get advance pass for all activities? Please let us know which places? We’re traveling next month.

Where planning a vacation and are looking at Idaho springs or Estes park. What would you recommend?
I would recommend Estes Park for sure.

The sheep peeing in the road 😂😂😂😂😂
Right! 🤣🤣 I almost died! 😅

Hmmm...I'm not quite sure, still scoping out all the hot spring options here in CO! There's so many!
Is this near goeorge town
Yes it is!!
Love your videos, but please adjust the setting of your selfie cam so it doesn't flip your videos.
If you can swim in Glacier NP you can surely swim in Idaho Springs, right?! Lol 😂
Yes, I just feel like this was a bit more chilly than Glacier NP for some reason! But I'm gonna do it!!
