@mesto17 "He" might sound younger and more German there because it's not actually Herzog. That's me doing my best Herzog impression, but as I'm much younger than he is and also not German, there are bound to be some differences in the way he and I sound. Sorry for the confusion! I have never met Mr. Herzog, but would sure like the chance. I agree he is one of our planet's most fascinating individuals.
+ScouttyPlays "the self" is elusive, since with every new experience our identity as a being-for-itself is constantly evolving. ergo, we can never cling to any fixed idea of who we are. once again, we are lost in the void...
This is brilliant. I've often heard Herzog in my own head, describing my daily routine. Well, some days...if it was every day, I'd have jumped off a bridge by now. ;)
Well done. It reminds me of the Garfield strips where Garfield is edited out. Since Garfield's monologue is always internal, Jon never actually talks to him. So when you remove Garfield's dialogue, Jon just seems like a crazy person having conversations with his silent pets.
@tisdue Oh, I had no idea! Thanks for the heads-up, tisdue. And Ezra, as well. I just went to the store and bought the paperback "Where's Waldo" thinking it would give me the classic one from my childhood. Left "Great Waldo Search," etc on the shelf.
Same. Who'd have thought that a vlog on a Steven Universe episode would lead me to a Werner Herzog parody-reading of Where's Waldo? The magic of RUclips.
My daughter sent me this wonderful video for Father's Day. I must say that the man Waldo meets mysteriously looks suspiciously like Max von Snydow. Perhaps there is some connection between Waldo and Three Days of the Condor. Ve must look into dis.
Excellent script but your Herzog accent could use tweaking; keep in mind that the guy's been living in LA for a long time now and his German consonants (V, Z) are a lot gentler. The best though is when he pronounces a word that ends with "ible" or "able" or the name Michael. The final "L" sound is jammed up against the consonants that come directly before it.
@RyanIverson Thank u so much! His voice sounds very young there. Also (I might be wrong but) he sounds more German than usual. His about the most fascinating man of our times.
@PJSRproductions Oh. Because Where's Waldo was originally published in Britain. The original title was "Where's Wally", but Martin Handford decided that "Waldo" was a more Americanized name and therefore better suited to Stateside publishing.
@SamJamwich1 The character is called Waldo in the USA, where he originated. For some reason his name was changed to Wally for Europe. There you go. Best wishes.,
@mrgamer445 It's a group of children books that were created in order to help children learn to recognize features while at the same time creating a fun environment for ids to enjoy reading and discovering. Waldo would be hidden somewhere is the photo and you would have to spend time trying to find him among all the other people.

Dude, I know it's been 11 years but, spot on Herzog impersonation
I have tears streaming down my face. And my gut is spasming. Please, listen.
sounds... guttural. :D
Great
"Is that a scroll?
Or merely a rolled up towel?
After trying so hard to find ze scroll,
are ve sure ve can handle ze real answer?"
Plot twist.
Waldo finds himself.

This is my favorite youtube video of all time, for years when i need to laugh i just watch this
Wonderful vocal imitation! And great writing. You must have spent a lot of time listening to him. And you write just the way he speaks. Bravo!
Why do I only discover this gem now ?
"At the sea, I hunt until I am mad..."
That really tickled me! XD
Great! I accidentaly hit on this video and i remembered Waldo...
That brings some childhood memories back...
Thanks a lot for this Video Ryan!
I wish this was a feature length. I was gripped.
This is a masterpiece and it truly made my day.
I love it. Great impression, terrific script. Love it. Keep it up, my friend. I am really laughing, watching it 3rd time in a row. Fantastc.
"In searching for waldo, will we really find ourselves? No, probably not."
I love these videos so damn much.
I can tell, Ryan is a dad who reads books aloud to his kid(s,) over and over again.
HOW HAVE I NOT SEEN THIS BEFORE????????
*tears of joy*
Nothing but love for this recording.
This is brilliant. I've often heard Herzog in my own head, describing my daily routine. Well, some days...if it was every day, I'd have jumped off a bridge by now. ;)
The best featured video I will ever see.
Well done. It reminds me of the Garfield strips where Garfield is edited out. Since Garfield's monologue is always internal, Jon never actually talks to him. So when you remove Garfield's dialogue, Jon just seems like a crazy person having conversations with his silent pets.
Garfield minus Garfield?
Could we somehow get Werner to read this?
Awesome!!!! I think that he does not zwant to be found.... but discovered....
i can watch this over and over again.
I'm over here losers!

Hey waldo
Damn you, soab! I have been searching you for the last 7 years!!
i can't even find waldo in these close ups
I used to read these books back in kindergarten
I appreciate how you use the term "read" as loosely as possible.
after watching this I felt strange yet a bit smarter
That was a gripping tale.
so good. this one is the best yet.
is that a scroll or a rolled up towel? after searching for hours, do we really want to know?
I love you for making this. *less than three*
this is the greatest thing i've ever seen
I can't sleep. Waldo's bed is a cold one.
Ok this is absolutely hilarious. At first I didn't know where this was going but once you start getting into it, oh boy.
I think that may have been one of the best things I've seen today. Smiles a-plenty.
You nailed it. Now I feel like rewatching Grizzly Man.
deeper than I ever get..thank you
Wonderfully stimulating and immensely diverting!
"Goodnight, Zaubermaus" - Zaubermaus means "magic mouse" in German and is a term of endearment for a small child. : )
i was smiling simply from this guys accent!!! love it!! =D
This is so... Beautiful.
one of the most epic things i've seen in a long long time.
I can't stop watching this.
this so totally and utterly made my day.
"...or, in searching for Waldo, did we really find ourselves? No, probably not."
these were the best books i ever read!!!
This is truly amazing.
This is absolutely brilliant
didnt know werner had such a high voice with an english accent and sounded a little bit like stewie from family guy...
I had this book as a child! aah.. memories!
this is done so well. if you've watched grizzly man in particular.
They have! It's a movie called "My Son, My Son, What Have Ye Done?" Produced by Lynch and directed by Herzog.
Somwhere in this noisey, chaotic morass of humanity is our fellow traveler, Voldo.
After trying so hard to find the scroll... are we sure we can handle the real answer? LOL
very sharp. Thanks for this, Ryan!
these movies are hilarious. keep making them please!!
"at the ski slopes i find him almost immediately"
lol
Haha! You totally nailed this one Ryan!
@tisdue Oh, I had no idea! Thanks for the heads-up, tisdue. And Ezra, as well. I just went to the store and bought the paperback "Where's Waldo" thinking it would give me the classic one from my childhood. Left "Great Waldo Search," etc on the shelf.
herzog has to do more of these
Favorite bid ever but really needs the gain (volume) turned up.
"And yet, at the sea, I hunt and hunt and he does not reveal himself to me."
i love this so much.
The nostalgia critic brought me here

this is actually hilarious and genius at the same time.. from now on, everything that appears simple and one-dimensional, i shall look at this way :D
so well done.
this is beyond awesome
THIS IS AMAZING
WOW the voice made this video sound so deep its like im watching a documentary on animal planet
These are brilliant. I'm stealing the lingo for my phd dissertation.
This is ridiculously brilliant.
@RyanIverson - Ezra is still correct. The special edition incorporates a "best of" all the books.
LOVE THIS!
Such poetry.
beautiful.
That's awesome xD
I used to have this same book as a kid.
Oddball's been real quiet since this video 😳
Took me like 5 min to find where to favorite this video :D
I love that game.

This is the best thing ever
@dalasv Not according to his Wikipedia page and IMDB. I tried his official website as well, but it is apparently down for some reason.
Wonderful!!
"No, probably not" FTW
This is brilliant.
GENIUS
I love this.
@RyanIverson Thank u so much! His voice sounds very young there. Also (I might be wrong but) he sounds more German than usual. His about the most fascinating man of our times.
Holy hell, that was amazing.
i went into a store to find a wheres waldo book............ i couldent find it well played waldo well played!
THis is amazing!
Yeah, it's very hard to do Herzog's accent justice. It's so unique.
@PJSRproductions Oh. Because Where's Waldo was originally published in Britain. The original title was "Where's Wally", but Martin Handford decided that "Waldo" was a more Americanized name and therefore better suited to Stateside publishing.
Aw man! That was great...I love it when people act like something is so serious even though its just something ridiculous and silly :)
Yes true and utter epicness.
@SamJamwich1 The character is called Waldo in the USA, where he originated. For some reason his name was changed to Wally for Europe. There you go. Best wishes.,
Werner forever!
This is amazinggggggggggggggggggggggggggggggg
