"Even though he has a big brain and aposable thumbs, he has to know that he will always be seen as inferior by his human counterparts. No amount of effort will change that."
Uh oh. I just started reading Conquest of the Useless and now I'm worried that I'll have the voice of the parody Herzog reading in my mind. Nice job, very funny.
It's not surprising that some would think this was really Herzog - he has such a diverse array of work and has got up to such crazy things, that one can easily imagine that he would do something like this. One can only hope that he gets wind of these videos and does one for real!
Well done satire...maybe Herzog will try this for real...a collection of children's literature read by him along the lines of this current piece or say Fractured Fairytales. Would make a great CD!
Damien has the right idea... Your argument over the reader's identity is a not unpleasant diversion but rings most hollow in the face of death. Oops, I think I got WH mixed up with Confucius.
Regarding the voice and accent: Not perfect, sure, but certain words and inflections are perfect parody. I laughed out loud at the words "telephone" and "duo" just because of how over-the-top Herzog-ish they sounded. Great voice, great writing.
This is not a significant RUclips video. It is just fast food remake of a silly tale for accomodated children whose parents wish to restrain the overwhelming malevolence that lies in their very nature The original monkey, Curious Werner, was a creature of exhilarating perseverance who knew true captivity, talked its way out of death sentence, and was shot twice. If you want to know the full story, come join my 3-day boot camp for soldiers of cinema. And remember to bring $1500 in cash with you.
Werner Herzog doesn't say 'ze' instead of 'the' and 'vat' instead of 'what', as is assumed by those who try to imitate Germans. Not very good voice...funny narrative though.
This is the best thing ever made. This video is the check and balance against all the other crap on youtube. Bravo, sir.
"An alien trinket of unimaginable cultural significance." LMAO!
These videos are a national treasure, and the fact that you only have 1,500 subscribers is a tragedy.
Beyond the voice, you've nailed the dialog and idiom of Herzog. The description of the fish coming out George's lungs, just hysterical.
"to be laughed at. by mousies."
laughter! tears! brilliant.
"This should give you a dim view of human potential"
"Is it Georges fault or the fault of the man in the yellow hat for bringing an agent of chaos out of the wilderness?"
"this should give you a dim view of human potential."
incredible! as herzog fan, i would like to say thank you. he should see this. very well written.
"Even though he has a big brain and aposable thumbs, he has to know that he will always be seen as inferior by his human counterparts. No amount of effort will change that."
Even the fishes longed for something smaller and more manageable than the oceans.
Herzog would love this.
That part about the firemen being a Laurel and Hardy style duo killed me! XD
I just want you to know I'm using your sample of "Ding-a-ling-a-ling" for my text-tone.
Thank you for many future laughs
Uh oh. I just started reading Conquest of the Useless and now I'm worried that I'll have the voice of the parody Herzog reading in my mind. Nice job, very funny.
This is terrific. Thanks for this.
"As if even the ("ze") fishes longed for some-zing smaller and more managable zan zee oceans"
loved it. Great satire on overanalysis.
I love the films and documentaries of Werner Herzog!! He's the best, and these readings are AWESOME!
This is absolutely HILARIOUS, great job!
PLEASE make more of these.
I don't think you realize how good this is.
George didn't call the fire department on purpose. It was just an honest mistake.
It's not surprising that some would think this was really Herzog - he has such a diverse array of work and has got up to such crazy things, that one can easily imagine that he would do something like this. One can only hope that he gets wind of these videos and does one for real!
We love it.
I like the writing. Lots of potential for episode 2.
Wonderful and/und wunderbar
Probably the greatest thing i ever saw.
This is effing incredible. Pure Genius.
Herzog directed Bad Lieutenant: Port of Call - New Orleans. Sort of a remake or reimagining of the original based around a similar protagonist
lol Kinsky could play George and throw poop at Herzog and then Herzog could make a whole movie about what a pain he was to work with
I think Mr Herzog would love this, I hope someone will show it to him
Well done satire...maybe Herzog will try this for real...a collection of children's literature read by him along the lines of this current piece or say Fractured Fairytales. Would make a great CD!
lol amazing. spot on. anyone know the song that plays at the beginning?
hey, great. i had this open on my browser for 2 or 3 days before watching it, and it went from 130 views to 19,736. that's almost a million!
Please, do The Velveteen Rabbit this way!!!! I love Herzog and George! Thanks, for the chuckle!
XXOO
This is the most amazingly funny thing I've seen in ages. More, please! Do Babar! Do Madeline!
Werner Herzog has a Bavarian accent and speaks in a sonorous and measured voice.
This could only be better if it was live action and Klaus Kinski had a role.
this is brilliant.
This is terrific - very clever.
Herzog made a film with the same name in 2008.
Amazing!
@joet88 Oh my god, I hadn't seen this. Thanks so much for pointing it out to me! Very exciting.
FYI, Werner Herzog didn't direct "Bad Lieutenant". Abel ferrara did.
That was great

Oops, I think I got WH mixed up with Confucius.
excellent
Haha I can't stop laughing at these. Great stuff..
Best Reply for sure.
that is a complete riot.
@BigTonyAD how did you do it?
"George quickly learns a hard lesson about deisre..."
Love it!
No, but RyanIverson could contact Herzog to do an entire children's series like this. If the script is this good, why wouldn't he agree?
Caruso at the beginning, nice touch.
This should give you a grim view of human potential.
brilliant
god i have been telling EVERYONE i know to watch this its so funny!
@ealaspada Maybe Kinski could be the Man in the Yellow Hat, and Nicolas Cage could be the fire chief.
Absolutely fucking genius! Great parody!
Utter genius!
What is the song at the stary
Curious George as Kasper Hauser!
Tim Ferriss and Rolf Potts sent me here
The reader introduces himself as Herzog. Why do you think it is someone else?
@BadResistors Yeah, it's called a "joke." Not sure if you're aware of the concept.
people actually believe this is Herzog? c'mon, people. let's use our brains.
Ich bin neugierige Georg, der Zorn Gottes.
-gold-
very clever- somebody pass it on to Herzog- heheh
I don't believe that's really him speaking....
Goodnight liebschen! ha ha ha!

@TheNEWfilmfanatic99 Yeah that was great!

ha herzog is great
3:01 WHEEEOOOOOOOOO
french herzog eh?
Yeah, I think his variation sounds a bit like Jaques Gusteau.
lol brilliant
Haha😂
Nice. No cheap laughs either.
This is NOT Werner's voice, it's a very blatant fake.
@mccragre05
Ok, now I see "I never thought anyone would think it was"
hmmm
This never happened, you have no proof...
OF COURSE it's NOT herzog !!!
ahaha. ^^
This is destroying me
ze mouses
The Herzog of Ireland.
Maybe you should try Molly Bloom instead with this voice.
No it wouldn't!
At times the accent sounds Irish.
Werner Herzog doesn't say 'ze' instead of 'the' and 'vat' instead of 'what', as is assumed by those who try to imitate Germans.
Not very good voice...funny narrative though.
I'd rather hear it read by Klaus Kinski.
then please change your title PLZ!!!
