Very few of those "Hey did you know ________, hah I bet you feel old now!" statements work on me. But his video being almost 15 years old... that did it. That finally did it. It feels like yesterday.
I first saw this in late 2009. I was a young kid at the time, so I had an interest in Lego's. My brother found this and it was almost like seeing a God animate. I'm much older than I was then, and I have an interest in music. To this day this magnificent video continues to astonish me and I am truly thankful for it.
Now nothing feels special anymore because every single niche thing can be oversaturated and can easily be quite draining. Furthermore, things move so quickly it's literally impossible for anyone to keep up with anything because if you follow a meme, you've most likely missed 10 others so I've stopped doing that for years. The idea of the Icon is dead.
This is very, very impressive animation, especially with such smooth camera movements and consistent smoothness. And if you guys didn't notice, even the black&white pixelated videos in this were also made in Lego.
And here I am, 12 years later, still having my mind blown by this video far more than any modern music video has ever done. Simply astounding, I'm in awe.
I watched this video when I was 8 years old, almost 10 years ago. This video back then was simply mind-blowing to me. Today I saw a lego build and was reminded of this video. I decided to look for it and found it in de archival corners of RUclips. Simply amazing.
14 Million. 5 Years and this video still looks fresh, smooth and a very visual eye candy. I'd like to thank you guys for dedicating the time, sharing, and crafting this awesome mind-bending stop-motion masterpiece. Until this day, it still is thought provoking on how creative you can be with this wonderful animation technique. You guys rock!
i had this saved on my old channel's favorites playlist when i was a kid. still pretty mindblowing to see even after losing track of it for a while and the music still sounds amazing.
This is, was, and always will be the most awesome and memorable RUclips video I have ever watched. Seriously, I thought this was the best thing ever when I was a kid. It's so well made.
Man! I remember finding this and being so amazed I jumped out of my chair to show my father. That seems so long ago. I found a book at the library about brickfilms and picked it up because I used to be obsessed with LEGO. There was an entire section dedicated to this video, and I looked it up again as soon as I got home. Kind of nostalgic, really happy I found this again.
thats 90,000 minutes. anyway, description doesnt say that. anymore at least. i dont think this took that long. 60 days no sleep? itd be like 90 days or 120 days at least. i refuse to believe he put that much work into it. not that it wouldnt be worth the $10k-20k he made off it.
1:57 This is probably the most breathtaking masterpiece made out of lego. That recorded video in real life and then converted into the lego pixelated stop motion!
rediscovering this gem at 12:15 AM is one of the best experiences to have, it was one of my first inspirations to get into animation and I'm working on a really big project, all down the line due to this!!!
Rymdreglage is so big now these days. I live and grew up just a few kilometers from these guys hometown, I think they're still around here on "Slätta". Älskar er musik, har gjort det i väldigt många år nu... Mycket kärlek och respekt till er boys. Much love from Kvänum
This is one of the first RUclips videos I remember finding myself, forgetting what it was called for years, then coming back and being and finally understanding what these absolutely mad lads did to pull this off. Amazing stuff.
I remember watching this in 2009. Oh, the memories. Wish I could go back in time. It's really wierd how time managed to pass so fast. It feels just like yesterday I was booting my Windows XP PC, and turning on Firefox. Then days of GTA...oh, I miss those days.
I don't know why RUclips put this on my feed after 15 years. But thank you for the nostalgia trip. This is one of the first RUclips videos I remember watching as a kid.
Just went on one of my VERY old playlist, and remember seeing this on the front page and liking it. Probably one of the first few videos I watched back on RUclips LOL
It's been ten years. I still don't know what is going on, who made this, how they made it, or what it's for. This is also the first video I can remember ever watching on the internet. Also, after TEN YEARS that friggin piece of dust on the 8 at 1:04 STILL BUGS ME

13 years later and it's still an incredible video, these guys were ahead of their time.
Agreed
Still agreeing over here too@@Breadbrowser
I also just revisited
Amen to that!

Same, not sure if it really was my first but it's definetly the oldest I can remember along with PES animations.

The exact same thing here, after 5 years i find this video again, its amazing :DDD

thanks!
I was just about to comment almost the exact same thing!

2022 and still as unique as it always was
2023 and still is
I remeber seeing this a month after it came out. 6 years later, the feels. This is truly an amazing piece
+King Sushi came here to say this lol, nowdays online radios have entire stations dedicated to this type of music
Yup, the times have changed
11 years m8, good times.
Cheers

Same thing m8
@@rymdreglage So, after 6 years from posting this comment, it's here...
12 years later I’m still astonished in October 2021!!!
The single most impressive part about this was rotating a 3D cube, on a 2D plane, while maintaining perfect perspective throughout, WITH LEGO.
best stop motion EVER
And here I am, 12 years later, still having my mind blown by this video far more than any modern music video has ever done. Simply astounding, I'm in awe.

The pong scene is my favourite part.
12+yrs later this is still in my Top 3 all time RUclips videos 👍
Found this while searching LEGO Stop Motion videos when it came out. Now, 6 or 7 years later, here I am, filled with nostalgia.

TheLAFilms99 Well thanks a lot, we are working on the sequel right now.
it really has been 11 years since i first saw this. man....
I think @3:11 is the best part. I find that sequence seriously cool.
0:10 that other video is good but nothing beats the 8 bit trip :P
I have never tried an 8-bit-trip..but I tried a 7-bit-trip once..not to be recommended..Haha!:)
Anyone who thinks of this as anything less than amazing, is a lunatic.

来安 Thanks, yes it took some hours to make :)
Amazing. Respect for the great video & music!
***** Thank you
Rymdreglage What effect/s did you use for the 8-bit fake look of the real movie clips at 1:16 , 1:35 , 2:00 , 2:36 , 3:02 ?
***** Not a video effect, that's still lego :D
***** You´re kidding me... ,-) Looks like a "distort the video in 25x25 pixel" or so effect. Anyway, great video and music!
This is all Lego, nine of it is cgi. I've done it before, but I scrapped the vid, it was crap anyways.
This is one of the first RUclips videos I remember finding myself, forgetting what it was called for years, then coming back and being and finally understanding what these absolutely mad lads did to pull this off. Amazing stuff.
that was one of the most amazing things I ever saw possible with lego!
***** Thanks, we will release number 2 in the future, dont miss that one!
took me a couple hours to find the video but i’m back again after 11 years 😌
The fact that this was 1080p in 2009 is insane. That technology back then was very rare and quite expensive to produce
1080p still image cameras weren't so high tech then, and this video is mostly stitched still frames
@@Ymgarl Such a boring comment, you're a boring person.
Oh my goodness, even now 15 years later, it is still a trip. I remember watching this when I was 9. Great stuff
They should make a 360 video out of this
top comment.

2019 oof
We had 1080p back then?
It was in the start up back then
1080p was released in the early 2000's.
Rymdreglage huh, i guess i never thought much about resolutions when i was 11... thats actually pretty cool.
Pure gold! such dedication and persistence! Well done Spaceslider!
After so many years... still digging into it. Amazing song.
if this was me, i would of given up after 3 frames
The quality of this video from 2009 still holds up today. It looks like it was shot in 2013, but I doubt it would have been as legendary as it is now.
This video will forever be one of my most favorite RUclips videos of all time. Blew me away the first time I saw it.
the musics pretty lit too
Had to revisit this classic after Part 2 dropped. What an incredible blast from the past.
