Two new driving laws across the state went into "full" effect Friday.
One law requires everyone in the car to click it or ticket. The driver, passenger and back seat riders are all required to wear a seat belt.

I drive for a living and I'm on the road for 8-10 hours a day and I have yet to EVER see anyone pulled over for doing this. I live in the Boston area and people here are among the worst in the country for doing this crap. They drive in the left lane all day long in a stupor, then they realize they missed their exit and suddenly veer across four lanes of traffic to make the exit ramp.

Funny the guy talks about speed limit as the law but he doesn't want to obey the other laws such as proper lane usage which has a bigger fine than speed limit penalty and more points against your license, but people talk about the speed limit ”Because it's The Law” and ignore everything else that's "the law"
The law says keep right and don't impede faster traffic not keep right and don't impede non speeding faster traffic.
Slowpoke law says there's an additional fine if you feel that they were speeding and you knowingly block them on purpose.

You're saying that these law abiding motorists should move out of the way of law breaking motorists so the law breaking motorists don't get mad? Do you realize how ridiculous your argument is? That's like blaming a mugging victim for not handing over his shit quick enough and pissing the mugger off. In your government you'd just tell people to give their shit to thieves so they don't get mad. We dont' steal in your government but some people do so let them steal so they dont' get mad. Yup, it still states that slower drivers are to remain in the right lane and the left lane is for over taking that slower traffic.

There is a bit of a flaw with the left lane driving rule:
    - If you drive on the 2nd leftmost lane you will need to pass.
    - Often there is enough traffic that you could be constantly passing.
    - And yet... if you are in the left lane passing (often for miles on end), even at 5-10 miles OVER the speed limit you will accumulate a tail of people riding your bumper because they typically drive 15-20 miles over the limit and find you annoying for not speeding enough.
So, you have two laws fighting each other. Either you respect and drive at the speed limit, or you become the slow driver who is passing for many miles on end.
Damned if you do and damned if you don't. But maybe this was exactly the intent... to raise revenue even from those who try to follow the law.

Summer of 2021, it was announced in the news that "Operation Southern Slowdown" was gping to take effect, where "100 days of officers aggressively cracking down on slowpokes, speeders, and drunk drivers in effort to reduce the number of FATAL traffic accidents in TN"... THP only did it for about a week of those 100 days and back to business as usual(Keeping the coffee fresh between 5am-8pm at gas stations just off of the interstates until a call about a wreck comes in, THEN they go out on the roads.
Chattanooga Police and Hamilton County deputies were actually out in traffic and actively pulling people over for all of 4 days of those 100 days, then back to reassigning traffic enforcement officers to being solely accident investigators basicly.
CPD literally does no traffic enforcement when they need to the most, when everyone is out on the roads. Instead they set up speed traps and checkpoints after 10pm when only a handful of mostly gas stations are the only thing open, and you might see 10 vehicles on the main road in 2 hour time frame.

About THIRTY YEARS AGO when working on a Traffic Committee, on this very topic we came to similar conclusions. First of all, a TWO lane roadway, we considered that the RIGHT Lane was for entering, exiting, slower than posted speed traffic, and Trucks. The LEFT was for passenger vehicles that intended to drive at the posted speed. This is how I have driven for over 55 years, and only deviated when there were little or no other vehicles near me.
On a THREE LANE Freeway the Left lane was intended for those passenger vehicles that intended to drive at the POSTED Speed”, the MIDDLE Lane was intended for slow lane drivers passing Trucks, slower vehicles in the Right Lane, or traveling faster than the traffic in the “slow lane”, but not as fast as the “posted speed”.
Our conclusion was based off the possibility that the LEFT might be considered a “SPEEDING LANE” or at least encouraging drivers exceeding the speed limit.
