I like how the several of the titans are said to be using their powers to reverse damage to eco system, like slowing the melting of the ice caps. It shows that they might not be just lumbering beasts, but intelligent creatures pissed off at what man did to earth. So, when ghidorah called for destruction, they destroyed. But, under godzilla's more benevolent rule, they protect and heal the planet
most of the titans/kaiju that are friends/friendly (friendsly?) with godzilla are protectors of the planet and help keep the balance, a prime example of this is mothra. I would like to use other examples but legendary didn't have many real allies for poor ol godzilla this time. though toho has explored this concept quite a bit.

From the moment they mentioned in 2014 that Godzilla was part of an ancient, radiovoric ecosystem, I've been dying to know what else lived in that strange prehistoric world that he hailed from.

Due to some rumors floating around (and also totally because of delays) we're not doing a video on the main three Titans of "King of the Monsters" - Mothra, Rodan, and King Ghidorah - just yet... but you can expect a Jet Jaguar profile and a special REDUX kaiju profile coming up.

I like both Behemoth and Leviathan but in my vision they were more like Godzilla's adopted parents because they kinda resembled Dinosaurs.

This is something I really appreciate about the Monsterverse, they didn't just throw a ton of recognizable Kaiju into KotM for these roles and call it a day. Instead, they came up with their own unique monsters with their own place in the world. I'm hoping in Godzilla Vs. Kong or a future Monsterverse movie, if there is one, that we get to see more of these beasts. In fact, why test out a new idea for this universe? Instead of relying on Godzilla and Kong, brand out and create movies with 2-3 of these different kaijus duking it out across the globe. I'd be down for that. It would ensure the Godzilla and Monsterverse brand stays fresh with new and interesting kaijus.
....they couldn't use the familiar Toho kaiju....because licensing privileges. Ya kno....legal stuff
@@daQuietsho If they managed to get Rodan, Mothra, and King Ghidorah, three of Godzilla's most well known kaiju, I'm sure they could have afforded another couple.
@AshXXMayftw Perhaps. But it's important to remember that they got the rights for those three way back in 2014, long before KOTM even began production. If there were going to be classic kaiju, I think they would have announced it by now.
@@jurassickaiju14 Not exactly. According to the director of the 2014 film they only had the rights to Godzilla and no one else. It was only until Toho saw the movie and how much it respected the character and fans that they allowed for more of their Kaijus to be used.

Calling him a coward never made sense to me, He got beaten by Ghidorah who was beaten by Godzilla and we know Rodan is smart as shown in his fight with the jets so he would connect the dots not to fight Godzilla

D Man1954 covered the Kong thing. Apparently, that one image was a bit of an error; it's the only time in the film where his signal is off of Skull Island and never again shows up like that. Also, Mike Dougherty clarified that the novelization's take was the correct one.
@Astounding Beyond Belief I mean, it makes sense. If Kong's gonna be an Alpha Titan, him not heeding Ghidorah's call makes sense. Even that little visual error can be explained by Kong going after any Skullcrawlers that managed to get off of Skill Island, since they did indeed heed Ghidorah's call.
I'd be dieing to see a movie remake literally as the novelization, I could imagine some epic scenes with the new titans and Kong
I never knew TOHO charges more for the use of other Kaijus. Hopefully in the future we will get to see Gamera, Gigan, Baragon, etc.

My guess for what the other Titans look like:
Yamata no Orochi: A hybrid of the designs seen in Yamato Takeru/Orochi, the Eight-Headed Dragon and the Orochi seen in IDW's Godzilla: Rage Across Time.
Amhuluk: A hybrid of a Komodo dragon, a crocodile, and a frilled lizard. It can also climb vertical surfaces like a gecko and spit venom like a spitting cobra or Jurassic Park's Dilophosaurus.
Abaddon: A demonic, insectoid Titan that resembles a hybrid between different types of invertebrates (a praying mantis, a scorpion, an emerald cockroach wasp, and a locust). It can command smaller versions of itself, and both it and its subordinates feed on almost anything.
Sekhmet: A lioness with a scorpion's tail, quills, and fangs like a saber-toothed tiger. Resembles a manticore, but with a lioness' head instead of a human's.
Baphomet: A demonic Titan with a head resembling a mix between a goat and a tiger, bat-like wings, and a body like an orangutan's.
Bunyip: A hybrid of a walrus, a leopard seal, and a Diprotodon. It has a loud, booming roar (a reference to Aboriginal legends and cryptozoological accounts describing bunyips possessing loud, booming roars).
Mokele-mbembe: A hybrid of various prehistoric animals: It has a sauropod's body (complete with a long neck and tail), a head like an earless mastodon with tusks that curve down, and a glowing horn on its head (resembles an Elasmotherium's horn, but made of bone and keratin instead of just keratin). Is teeth are like that of a crocodile's.
Tiamat: Resembles a classical dragon with a skin similar to an alligator's and webbed feet, with the ability to breathe fire. She can walk, swim, and fly (Note that the multi-headed Tiamat is a creation of DnD, in the original myths, Tiamat only had one head).
Leviathan: Similar to Nessie and her baby from Godzilla: The Series, but with elements from a plesiosaur, a mosasaur, a Basilosaurus, a frilled shark, and a moray eel. Has a secondary jaw in its mouth like a moray eel.
Typhon: Similar to Greek myths, but with a more monstrous, ape-like upper body. Its serpent heads are actually tentacles.
Quetzalcoatl: Resembles a feathered snake with wings (similar to modern depictions of the Aztec god). Also possesses elements from its pterosaur namesake, Quetzalcoatlus.
Kraken: Resembles a giant octopus with the shell of an orthocone. Its mantle and tentacles are covered in scars and its shell is covered in barnacles and burn marks.
Margygr: A hybrid of various aquatic predators (crocodile, great white shark, killer whale, piranha, wolf fish, moray eel, lamprey, leech, and Dunkleosteus) with her upper torso resembling a cross between a gorilla and a Neanderthal (with some elements from Shin Godzilla's tail spawn). Overall, she resembles a monstrous and bestial mermaid. Like both lampreys and leeches, Margygr can also suck blood from other kaiju.
6:30: My guess for those Titans: The winged lion is Griffon (from Latitude Zero) and the three-headed, quadrupedal dragon with wings is either Desghidorah or Monster X in his Keizer Ghidorah form
Don't forget Deinotherium for the Mokele-mbembe influence. I'm not sure why they went for the whole elephantine head thing, but it could be a reference to other African cryptids like the Grootslang and Emela-ntouka.
Given Abbadon's context in the Bible, I picture him looking like a mix between Destoroyah and Bagan with Meganula acting as parasites. Given how Abbadon in the Bible is known as "the destroyer" and leads an army of insect-like demons
I envision Orochi to be a giant Hydrozoan
Except..Abaddon is Muto 3, and Typhon is a giant Starfish.

I don't care if a majority of these monsters never get any screen time, I just REALLY want to see some sort of designs for them in the future. Throw a few approved sketches in art books, even rough 3D models, just a general idea would be fine.
Yes, Kong did resist Ghidorah’s call as the novelization states, but it also states that the Skullcrawlers actually listened to Ghidorah.
The Skullcrawlers became more active and started doing what Ghidorah was commanding the other titans to do; cause mass destruction.
The novelization states that Kong resisted the call, but it also said that he went off to stop the Skullcrawlers. That’s probably why he left Skull Island. He was following the Skullcrawlers in his conquest to kill them before they could do much. Considering that there aren’t any reports of Skullcrawler attacks on the mainland, I’d say that Kong was successful.

Mokele-mbembe is a dinosaur (a saurpod) but in the film "godzilla: king of the monsters" Mokele-mbembe look more like a deinotherium then a sauropod.
No, not a deinotherium, more like a legged grootslang, just because he has a earless elephant head with downward tusks doesn't mean deinotherium head, there's a obvious difference.

The one in Godzilla the series had a different name and he Leviathan was the alien ship in that show, but it’s funny how the names and ideas reappeared here. I’d actually like if they brought in a few designs from that series, especially C-Rex from the weird yellow monster from the sea.

The depictions at the start of the movie show a bird titan beside behemoth. This could just be Rodan, however in the movie Rodan doesn't have a crocodilian tail like that in the painting. If I had to guess, I'd say they will probably use the quetzalcoatl design from Godzilla the series

I like how the Monsterverse Mokele-Mbembe resembles a Grootslang in many ways
Here's a bit of an update. For the Unseen Titans part in the logo openings. The Griffin like art impression is actually Sehkmet, and the 3 headed dragon is Tiamat. And for the Cut Titans segment, Sargon is actually the giant scorpion in the concept art and the Lovecraftian horror is actually the Kraken, and the spindly boy is the whole body of Magyar.

I've been counting all of the titans and there is a total of 30 titans for me or maybe more
there are just 19 titans in the map but in the movie dr serizawa tells there are 17 after Godzilla because one of the titans margygyr died so totally 18 titans

So I did a little count and as of the 2014 prequel comic there where 25 Titan's on the planet dead or alive that we know of. But I am really hoping we get to see some more of them in Godzilla Vs Kong especially what special abilities they have.
There is a Theory that Kong was actually hunting down Skull crawlers that were attracted because of Ghidorah's call, so he probably was on the Hollow earth!

Behemoth and Scylla honestly remind me of kaiju you’d see in the Hanna Barbera Godzilla cartoon and Godzilla the Animated Series respectively. Especially the spider boi feeling like a kaiju from the 1998 Godzilla cartoon.

Additional note on Devil's Tower: It is associated with a giant bear (named Mato in one Lakota version of the story) in the mythology of several Native American tribes, with the ridges being carved out by the bear's claws when trying to climb and pursue various victims before chasing them into the sky and becoming the constellation Ursa Major.

ever thought of doing a similar style of video for other group's monsters? I guess one example that comes to mind is the monster roster in the Hanna-Barbera Godzilla series or even exploring the many monsters made for the American Godzilla stories!?
Behemoth is the most interesting of all the new titans, I completely agree. A mammalian titan with a simple but unique look, it fits perfectly with the Kaiju world.
Turns out it WASN'T safe to assume we'd be seeing more of them in Godzilla vs Kong, real shame.
Kind of hoping Gamera in that concept art means they are seriously considering getting the rights to put him in a Monsterverse film and it wasn't just for fun.
Just hearing about all these Titans makes me want to get a "Destroy All Monsters" movie where we see all 17 duke it out.
