Wintersun is starting to feel like Guns N Roses with Chinese Democracy, and just like that album, when Time 2 does finally come out, I’m just not going to care. It’s been so long that other bands have formed, refined their sound, and have a solid catalog of music that we can all enjoy. There is almost nothing this band makes that could make it worth the wait for me.
This is legit exactly how I feel, did I mention that in this video? I can't remember but I love comparing it to GNR. oh fun fact, the time between Spaghetti incident and Chinese Democracy is a shorter time than Chinese to today ;) let that sink in
Holy hell. I had to fact check that because spaghetti incident didn’t feel super old to me. I had it CD in the late 90’ so I imagining a 10 year gap from it and Chinese Democracy, but a full 15 years is absolutely insane. Jari’s gonna need a lot more podcast episodes to fill the time if he’s gonna beat that record.

I definitely enjoyed the song. But I definitely agree with that timing though. The insane waiting for this song was bullshit. Never the less content wise. I'm definitely not worried about the albums quality when it does come out. They've never disappointed me musically. Ever. I've got 100% faith in the album. But I'm also asking myself, how long now till the next one this fu***** time? Hahaha.
He's working on multiple albums simultaneously. One of which he said was about 80% done a month or so ago. I guess this teaser is for that album and we will get a new crowdfunding campaign for it in the near future. With that money he will hopefully get the remaining money he needs for the studio. Then it needs to be built. Maybe another album will be finished in that time. Then he will use the studio to re-do the TIME albums and then eventually it will come out. All in all I'm, expecting TIME II around 2030.
Only problem is, had he just done the 3 crowd funding's and made these albums, he would have had this money and a studio by now. There is no way it took this long :p We know he did not write any of the forest seasons between 2012-2014, so that leaves 2015-2017. It only took 2 years to make the album and release it. I would love to just trust Jari, but he has definitely shown how fast he can make an album, and it still be good. I would love to believe he has been working on multiple albums, but he doesn't show many receipts for that, nor does he communicate it well with his fans. It took 5 years for him to even tell us that, which is ridiculous. I love the band and their music, but it really disappoints me how Jari handled this

hey i just listend to the new "song" can u give us ur opinions on it? to me it sounded like he wrote it yesterday and thats not a music video, i mean just read the comments on the vid alone pretty laughable how 90% of the ppl agree this is hilarious
Its hard to tell when he wrote it, but it being so short does make it feel that way. I have no proof though ofc :p As for the actual song itself, it was definitely good, tonally it was very punctual and you could hear everything in the mix, and definitely very much based on Devin Townsends Ziltoid

Okay now, I just thought about something. I've heard Jari is a perfectionist to a fault, to a point he's sabotaging himself. Which is incredibly frustrating for us more than he seems to realize, otherwise he'd at least update us more often. The thing I didn't consider until I read it in one of the comments here, is that it seems he's not writing unless he absolutely has to. And it reminds me a lot of another writer, but in a different art form: GRRM with Winds Of Winter. I've watched a video from a writer where, using evidence from other writers and GRRM himself, he shows why we won't get the book anytime soon. I think we can draw parallels between George and Jari that can help us understand what is really happening. Like George released other books and not Winds Of Winer, and Jari released other music and not Time II (and I just realized both have season themed art). (I'll try and link it in a reply to this comment) Sadly, whatever the real reason is, we're at the same spot waiting with no specific deadline. Not even checkpoints that help us see the progress. I can understand that it takes some time (pun not intended), but it has been too long with no justification. Anyways, the new song didn't suck. But I didn't enjoy it that much compared to their previous material. I don't know if the wait affected my enjoyment of it. As usual man, cheers from France! 🍻

It's weirdly long title, but the content of the video was eye opening. Again, I think we can draw some parallels between the two. Stating with the fact they both are creative geniuses, and both are taking too much time and too many seasons (pun intended this time) to release the material we've all been waiting for.
I think Jari is a perfectionist up to it being a problem. I would guess Jari has been mixing the new album for years already so it being (possibly) in post-production doesn't mean that it's getting published anytime soon. Maybe Jari is now thinking he has instrumental parts for a single song ready enough to allow greater public to hear it.
Its possible, but the problem is definitely the broken promises. He should have definitely built his studio by now, or made a couple of "lesser" albums to crowd fund more money for it. Those promises have definitely been broken
