They played this as their second to last song so she had already been going for over two hours at this point and she still sounds insane. 🔥🤘🏻 The show from Korea has to be the one you reference. IMO it’s the best crowd and best sounding she has had 💯
I would also put the Hamburg show as a close second. But there are many special moments in each show. Emily doing "Faint" in NY was crazy good. That last scream at the end while walking across the stage was spectacular.
My personal thoughts without needing to watch this video, which I will do, I watched the 1st livestream gig they did the day after….., and let’s face it, Emily would’ve been very nervous, I was fortunate enough to go to the O2 London gig, damn, that was only 2 weeks ago….., but anyway, Emily has thankfully grown in confidence, which considering all the damn hate she’s gotten online from so called fans 🤮 she’s doing amazing and done a bloody good job of pulling the 2nd long scream of the night off, albeit a few seconds short, but, to put it into perspective, more often than not, Chester didn’t do the full 17 second scream, but going back to this gig, it was 🔥🤘🏻
It may have been shorter, but she'd been singing for nearly two hours before this and this song was second to last at the end of the set! Girl has mad skills....🔥❤️
A 12/13 second scream after an hour or two of performing. Emily's got chops! Funny enough, when she was asked what her favorite song from the new album will be to perform live, the two already-released singles were not even on her list, so I suspect we're in for many treats in November! 😁
Emily is fucking awesome idc what the haters may say, tastes differ but she objectively can do the screams, great clean vocals and shes great at doing the gritty vocals too except for a couple of times during the debut livestream where I felt like she forced it a bit too much, but thats understandable considering the stress she must have felt at that time, I’ve been watching a shitton of live footage from the lp concerts as well as dead sara concerts and I cant wait to see and hear it for myself live at the concert in paris next month, outside of the couple of voicecracks in the debut livestream she’s been nailing everything shes done so far Also, the whole scientology thing is such bs, I’m almost certain she’s not even affilliated with it at this point because she’s openly queer and there are multiple examples of dead sara lyrics that appear very critical of religion in general Some people were just going to hate anyone following in chesters footsteps by default regardless i reckon
I agree, a lot of people are still struggling with the fact that Chester isn't here any more but that shouldn't mean that the band shouldnt progress, i think mike has had a master stroke idea here in employing emily as the new singer, she is definitely killing it and I look forward to the new album 😁
@@larka742 It really just makes her look even more like the perfect fit for LP -- you know when she sings, even Mike and Chester's old lyrics, she *feels* it, and that genuine emotion is the same reason we fell in love with Chester.
I was at the O2 for this please remember this was one of their last songs after Given Up (Chester's 17 second scream) and Keys To The Kingdom (another very heavy song)
Stop the negativity to Emily. She is and was awesome from the beginning. For those of you who criticize her, can you sing? Go on try to do what she does.
Suggest you check out the stripped version of Anybody by her other band, Dead Sara. If you watch it, you'll see how soft and clean her voice can be. I can't wait to see how they utilize it in their new music.
Emily has done perfectly fine since the full 2hr concert in LA. The first livestream was not perfect but anyone that complains about it, I would like to see you do it. Get thrown to the wolves on livestream of one of the biggest bands ever. It did not help that the mix for the livestream was atrocious. I find it funny that people keep saying she is getting better when she has been really great for 15 years. You could say she is getting more comfortable with the songs and tweaking them here and there to better fit her voice but this woman has been an awesome vocalist for quite a while. Dead Sara was criminally underrated and underexposed. They really should have been much bigger than they were before Emily joined LP. After going back through her Dead Sara catalog, she has become my favorite vocalist.
I wouldn't say it's so much that she's "getting better in general" as it is she's getting more comfortable both with the songs as well as with her position in the band. The nerves of being the new LP lead vocalist are starting to calm down a bit (though in the Korean show, based on some of her comments and performance, it did seem to be a bit of a nerve spike for her, possibly because touring in Korea was a reminder at how huge this opportunity is).
@@IceMetalPunk Fair enough. I have not seen her comments regarding the Seoul show, outside of just how impressed she was at the enthusiasm overall. I watched that entire show and thought she did well. I do see her sometimes glance at the on-stage monitors for lyric queues so she is still learning some of the songs but those are down to just a handful now. Not bad considering they play like 27 songs a show and only 2 are ones she was a part of creating. I have noticed she has tweaked the way she incorporates clean vocals into harsh and back to clean for some of the songs, which I actually find refreshing. Her ability to transition from clean to harsh and back again is the smoothest I have seen from anyone ever. I think she gets a little over-hyped at times and pushes a little too hard on the harsh vocals but then again, she has always done that going back to early days of Dead Sara, even in studio recordings. I think she just likes to give every song every single ounce of energy she has to give, voice cracks be damned and I love it.
I genuinely dont think she feels comfortable doing the old songs, she passes it to the crowd for large portions of it but these are her songs and shes absolutely killing it 👍🏼 day 1 linkin park here too, showing our age 😂
I've had the LA Forum Concert on repeat honestly, it's officially her first full concert with them. Any nervousness is just absolutely crushed in the very first song. It's the fist time she does Given Up, which imho is her best Scream on that Bridge, and it's also the very first time EVER Live, they play Keys to the Kingdom, & that's 2 hours into the Concert & it is mind boggling EPIC. Best video with Audio was from this guy ruclips.net/video/aaqp32nPje8/видео.html And then Hamburg, London & Korea it just looks even easier for her to belt out the songs & she gets even more talkative with the crowd, and just having a ton of fun, dancing & grinning from ear to ear. It's been amazing to see her Journey already & it's just the Beginning. Emily Belongs. Period.
Her live stream performance is pretty much the only show she didn’t nail so far - here’s their show in Seoul, time stamped to jump between songs. ruclips.net/video/HEiyIJO6XLs/видео.htmlsi=TnP6NHrGn-9dfTKj
Your question is has she progressed? Yes. Progressed from the first show with the band on stage in front of a crowd where no doubt there is going to be nerves. The real question will be 20-30 shows into the tour next year how is she doing? And don't get me wrong, I'm not saying anything negative about her. She has an amazing voice and she's been doing great. But I want to see her once she is truly comfortable on that stage and when the muscle memory kicks in.
You have a very good point. I remember when I listened for the first time Maneskin when they won the Eurovision, and listened to their discography. The vocals were good, a lot of charisma from the singer Damiano. But when the marathon of festivals started, oh lord, that was awful. I went to their concert the year after their huge success, and it was painful to hear, the guy couldn't bear the screams, singing and 'dancing'. That happens a lot with famous bands as well. There a few singers that can hold a marathon like this with a perfect voice and incredible performances. Even Linkin Park, at some point there were some thrashy gigs where Chester's voice could not keep up, I was at one of those concerts (veryfrustrating).
Not at all, in a studio you can record a scream at any time and add it to the mix.... When live you have to perform it straight after singing... I just wanted to see what Emily had got
Come on guys, you know deep down that "she's good" is just your bias or not? If not, who is more suitable than her? You? Chase's son? Or the owner of this RUclips channel? In the end, the singer is still her. If you don't like it, just get out of there quietly.
@@imrmediagaming2479 I know you were just curious about the length of the scream but there are some noob youtubers who actually judged her singing based on this parameter. Especially a RUclipsr named Teddy was in depression after seeing that she couldn't pull it off in live past 13 secs I'm pointing to those noobs 😂
Have absolutely no complaints about Emily. An awesome song 🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥🤘🏻🔥

People talk about how it's 12-13 seconds. But she takes her breath just before "This is what you ask for"
That is some impressive shit!

Every reaction I see really likes Emily, as you should, but shout out to Colin, the new drummer...On point!!!
She is absolutely killing it out there
I think she's improved a lot. I can't imagine the pressure of that 1st show!
Chester rarely did that full length scream live . He always broke it into two parts so lets remember accurately. 😉
And the lady here doing this stuff at the end of 2hours + show AMAZING !!
She's on fire, amazing!!
In my opinion...she is phenomenal. The stuff they have coming out is class!
Loving the Linkin Park reactions! And really enjoying Emily stepping into the role her own way given the expectations she faces from the fan base
Thank you, I'm glad that you're enjoying them as much as I am recording them, the other side of the fan base will come round soon enough I reckon
