Yeah i think the emptiness machine was required to be able to introduce her after the band had been playing on stage for a bit and thats why it is the first song released - because it was the first time she was seen on stage - half way through the song.
Love this comment. I also think The Emptiness Machine is enough of an earworm to maybe surprise and pull in new fans, and hard enough to have old fans still be interested. Definitely worked on me. And also like, people who were shitting all over her for “not being like Chester”… okay, but I listened to some live performances a couple of days ago and Chester had really bad moments vocally too. And of course that only proves he’s singing live and singing these songs is tough, but we all should give Emily the same grace. By the way, I’ve also been listening to their discography from the beginning and throwing Emptiness Machine and HITC in the playlist at random points, and I had no whiplash. Like yeah, the voices are different, obviously, but the mood and vibes are very similar, so similar that there is no significant enough of a difference in how it feels. And I really can’t wait to hear some more vulnerable moments in the album, because I have a feeling there’ll be something like that.
You guys also missed that Mike said she was crying during the first show. During given up and a couple others causing her voice to crack. She was happy. She couldn’t believe where she was. She deserves our grace to let her improve and settle in. Her more recent shows sound bad ass.
I have purposely read and watched things from Mike talking about how the group came to be and their direction, I am totally on board! I saw the interview where Mike said that about her crying.
I think there are two reasons they released The emptiness Machine first: 1. It's feels more like an introduction to Emily, since it has Mike's long melodic part in the beginning and it demonstrates how the two can harmonize well better than Heavy is the Crown 2. Heavy is the Crown was being released with the League of Legends marketing, which would draw attention away from LP and Emily themselves.
And read the lyrics of emptiness machine. Its made for the critics and doubters of the fanbase. "Your blades are sharpened with precision Flashing your favorite point of view I know you're waiting in the distance Just like you always do" " Let you cut me open Just to watch me bleed Gave up who I am for who you wanted me to be" Its obvious
You get asked to join one of the biggest bands in the world, with one of the most hardcore fanbase. They don't tell the world they have a new singer, you're a female, you have to walk up on stage by yourself 5 min after the rest of the band and start singing a brand new song to an arena full of Linkin Park fans.....and it's live streamed to the whole world. Yeah, she is fucking badass.
I really don't understand why people want her to stop singing the old songs, I mean what the fuck are they suppose to play at the concerts? Just Emptiness Machine and Heavy is the Crown then tell everyone enjoy the rest of your evening thanks for coming out? People bought tickets to see Linkin Park play songs from their catalogue and you bet your ass they will bloody play all the crowd favorite songs along with the new tracks.
The way I play that scenario you just wrote in my head, "Just Emptyness Machine and Heavy is the Crown then tell everyone enjoy the rest of your evening thanks for coming out," 🤣🤣🤣 that was funny and enraging at the same time
Yeah this what im talking about, what should they perform if they not sang there old Linkin park song ? There New Album Songs is not coming out, for sure if this album release already majority of there song incoming Concert The Only thing you can hear now is Album Zero
And to retort, They're not CHESTERS songs...They're LINKIN PARKS songs. And you answered your own question. "This is more of a nod to the past". Yes when it comes to sound. But they're not trying to live in the past like most fans are.... They're trying to introduce Emily which Emptiness Machine did very well and move forward.
Exactly! I love Chester so much - but I love the rest of the band too, and it just isn’t right to act like they don’t matter, and that the music doesn’t to them as well.
A lot of people forget linkin park was a thing before chester. They started as Xero with a vocalist named Mark Wakefield and he left the band after doubting their future success. Chester hopped on board after they changed their name to Hybrid theory before being sued by a british electronic duo named "Hybrid" so they changed their name to linkin park and decided to title their first album "hybrid theory" instead
I'm a huge Linkin Park fan. No one will be able to replace Chester, may he rest in piece. But the expectation of the fans should not be that Emily has to replace Chester otherwise the entire band falls apart. The band took a well deserved break after Chester's passing. They also made the decision not to just disband and disappear. Even with a brand new singer, they're still sounding like the Linkin Park I grew up with.
I feel like her scream on the words “this is what you asked for” is amazing because it’s not just about the lyrics of the song but she is also saying all of the fans were asking for someone who can scream hard and so she was showing them that she is able to do what they asked for. Makes it an even more epic scream.
What amazes me is that, this song was not written 2 days before the video, they knew what they were doing, and they KNEW the backlash they were gonna get because of Emily. Releasing Emptiness Machine first was planned, almost to FORCE the public to react the way they did, to THEN telling them “gotcha bitch, fuck you” with this song, which is absolutely bigbrain smart
I encourage you both to watch LP in Hamburg. Emily sounds amazing! She’s grown far more comfortable with her role and she does Chester proud in a LOT of his songs. It’s night and day compared to their debut live performance. As one would expect honestly. The world sometimes needs to chill and empathise more. She’s a fan like you and me. She didn’t deserve the hate.
And i can tell you , i was there live , she sounds way better than on the videos . Was one of the best concerts ive been to in my live. The atmosphere was also insane
Remember that even if Chester is gone, Mike isn't. He really wrote most of the songs, and the other guys mostly added their two cents. Chester might have helped him with lyrics, but Mike is constantly creating. It's something that just happens with him. I think it's perfectly okay for Emily to sing the other LP work. I also think it's perfectly fine for them to play the old LP stuff. I would miss it so much if they stopped.
Linkin Park has been setting up this collaboration with Riot for a while. It has been confirmed that this song is not only the worlds 2024 Esports championship anthem, but also on the Arcane soundtrack for Season 2 releasing in November... The same month LPs album is releasing. Also... Worlds Championship opening ceremonies are iconic, and LP has a gap in their tour, because they will be playing Live at the Worlds finals Nov 2, amongst other bands probably. Also there is a double meaning to this song. Heavy is the Crown is not only referring to the "Crown" that Emily has to overcome from Chester, but also the team showcased in the song is T1, the 4 time world championship team. They are defending their crown, and the EPIC moment where the guy is walking out, is Faker, the GOAT of Professional league of legends. There were doubts he wouldnt be able to maintain his position after 7 years of not getting a worlds championship, but Faker got it last year. That is what it is referring too. Also another parallel, Faker took 7 years to regain a worlds title, Linkin Park took 7 years to release a new album. As someone who is a fan of both sides, its incredible.
You can see the parallel is intended, when they show Faker, and then split-cutting to Emily Screaming, at the end of it. Showcasing they are 2 similar stories, but in totally different universes.
Ok, I know nothing about LoL, tried playing once and it wasn’t for me, but this is blowing my mind. Damn, way to really weave two narratives in one work. So this tells me the people complaining about LP being in the video aren’t getting how fucking awesome them being in it actually is, because if you have any type of awareness of what’s been going on with LP and the rock/nu metal scene, you can absolutely understand how goddamn glorious this is. Like I don’t know who this Faker guy is, but when you put it down that way I get it. I know what this comeback means for LP, so I can understand what it means for LoL fans too. Kind of I guess. But yeah, damn, that’s great.
Unfortunately both sides are complaining when they look at their fan-Dom in a vacuum. LoL fans are upset because it's the first worlds anthem to highlight the band, more visually, in the cinematic. And LP fans are annoyed and confused why there's these random animated characters in their official music video. I think the opening ceremony Nov. 2nd, will shut everyone up once they see the 2 truly clash into one. It will all make more sense.
Great reaction guys!! Your emotions after Emily’s screaming are priceless! 😅 ‘This is ‘fuck you’ to you, this is ‘fuck you’ to me’ 😂 Great! And your analysis of the sound is really deep. Emily sang this song in London and screamed like 14 seconds. And I like live version even more 😊
"if something doesn't happen, I'm punching the shit out of you. repeatedly." for a moment there i was like "oh, i hope LP delivers" then i remembered i already .heard this song i felt so dumb lol their reactions were so satisfying. this is definitely a middle finger to everyone. hell, my hairs on my neck always stands in ovation whenever i hear that part.
I honestly think it's Mike's genius planning behind this. First song chorus lyrics were: "Let you cut me open just to watch me bleed, Gave up who I am for who you wanted me to be." After first song was released we had a divide in fanbase - and then the second song had the message in chorus: Second song is: "This is what you asked fooooooooooooooooooooooooooooor!" to remind the fanbase what they asked for after the first song. :) Your reactions are awesome.
I think the biggest part of the FU wasn't just holding the note, but what was being said " This is what you asked for" she killed it IMO, in her own way.
That was a pre-empted FU scream, as Linkin Park, & Emily recorded this 6 months or more ago, knowing there would be massive judgement from hardcore Lp fans. Emily pulled this scream off live in a recent concert also at around 18-20 seconds. I predict the new album will be all A class songs. Theyve had 5+ years to write and record the new songs...plus use up any old idea lying around.
There is a live version of this the day the song dropped. Emily sounds so much better from the first live show. Definitely worth checking out! She more than delivers!!!!!
The Emptiness Machine as the first single makes sense due to it's genius structure, lyrics and transition to Emiliy. But there was never just ONE Linkin Park style, this is just a different one with all the Rap, also good.
I personally love Emily's versions of the olds songs. As blasphemous as it may sound, I might even like "Waiting for the End" from her more over Chester's version. But even then, if you play some of the later concerts from Los Angeles, New York, Hamburg, London... She sounds much better. She slays most of the songs. Doesn't do the Given Up scream sure but once again let's remind ourselves that Chester didn't do it most of the time either. Songs like Faint, One Step Closer, Bleed it out, Keys to the Kingdom... she slays it all. Especially if you listen to Faint from the New York show. Just wanted to voice my opinion, it's alright if you disagree but I personally hope she keeps singing the old songs too. And great reaction!
Based on this song, she can do 17 seconds here and in Given Up. She respects Chester and purposefully doesn't do this. If she does this, the "fools" will hate her even more.
so smart to release this song after the emptiness machine , i think they anticipated all the reactions for use the " drama" . thats soo sick and make this comeback so much powerfull insane move
A message from the dumb*ss duo you love at Kaiju Studios: THANK YOU SO MUCH for the continued support. We read every comment. We listen. We work constantly to improve our content. We are a brand new channel and will continue to grow and hopefully put a smile on your face! LOVE YOU ALL
Ok Guys... 3 Weeks late but.... i guess i find my new fovorite Reactors! Love it from the first till the last secont! And, also, you sitting there an say: we were wrong! Thats Strong Guys! Love it!
11:37 I love it because: "THIS IS WHAT YOU ASKED FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHRRR!"
Yeah but after an almost complete concert and the little discussion that arose on the stage. Mr.Hahn took it in his hands and we were the lucky ba$$$rds in Hamburg who got it first. Still flashed …
Maybe it sounds weird, but truth is I'm becoming a fan of Linkin Park especially for Emily. I knew LP before, I listened to "What I've done" many many times, but I was not considering myself as a fan, not at all. Chester's demise didn't affect me so much. It's sad, for sure, and it will remain sad. But now I'm really hyped by this new era. Emily's voice is so awesome, flawless, with such rage and emotions, and the music is so good, too... It pushes her voice on the top of the world, or of the galaxy... And my personal opinion about Linkin Park keeping their name is that... It's the best testimony of respect for Chester. At least, as a main member of a band that I loved, I would personally be happy with the idea of the band coming back after my early-ish demise. I really don't know, but I think if someone asked Chester before he passed away: what would you think if 7 years after your early-ish death, Linkin Park would find a respectful new singer and would find the strength to continue the adventure? Well... I think Chester would answer : I hope they would do !
She literally gave us what we asked for in this BANGER of a track. Like, its actually fucking epic and kinda poetic that thats the lyric she screams on. Im fully sold on her.
This instantly became one of my top three Linkin Park songs. It’s right up there with Bleed It Out and Faint. Also, I wish people looked more into Faker. He’s what MJ is to basketball, what Tyson is to boxing and what Tom Brady is to football. Faker is the goat in his field and his story is genuinely inspirational.
Heavy is the Crown is such a fitting song too. Like not just for Emily but for the band as well, to be continuing on this legacy of Linkin Park after all these years, having Emily coming in after Chester, the expectation from fans to be good if not better. The first song was more of a "Hi again, we're back" and this song was the "We are here to stay" to all those people judging and questioning their choices. Also both singles sitting nicely on a lot of charts right now, number 1 in a few countries. Kind of pushing home that point that this new Linkin Park is back.
I have to tell you guys how incredible she was when I saw them live in NYC. She clearly became more comfortable with the old music and absolutely killed it. The initial live stream concert she was nervous and emotional- definitely should not judge her skills as a live performer on that.
I think it's weird criticism to say that Linkin Park shouldn't be able to play their previous discography, when to me it's pretty clear that they are actively working towards starting well "from zero" and slow rolling out a brand new album with new songs that will take over their set list. I'm sure once they have two albums under their belt, they would only rarely pull out a legacy song, but until that point. They need to rely on that discography until they have enough time to restart the band's identity under Emily's voice. It's like criticising a band during their training era when the clearly want to separate themselves from those old songs. Anyways. I absolutely adore Emptiness Machine and Heavy Is The Crown. I cannot wait for their new album to release in November.
You guys have to keep doing reaction videos, I was shocked to see you guys weren’t a bigger channel. Some of the best breakdowns I’ve seen caught a lot of stuff that much more well known producers didn’t catch which I appreciate. You guys know what’s up
I love that you know your stuff, how musicians work, how producers work etc. You discuss what could the song do next based on trends etc and usually it works. Even counting the scream in bars was different to other reactions. Hat off! I am expecting you to react to the whole album as well when it drops!
Guys.... THIS IS WHAT YOU ASKED FOR!!!! I absolutely love this song and I even loved emptiness machine too. Yeah she is not Chester. But she has the guts to step in and try to fill that gap, that Chester left behind.
I bought Hybrid Theory when it first released. It got me through some hard times. When Chester passed it hurt. I am glad that the band has been able to grieve but also been able to get back on their feet creatively and kick down the door to say 'It's a new era, we're still full of creative juice, get ready to be rocked. By the way, here's Emily, she's going to rock you too.' while delivering middle fingers to the haters stuck in the past. I'll never stop listening to the old songs, but I am truly excited for the new songs.
I love this song and I think the new singer is brilliant. Anyway I really enyowed your comments. Great. You know what you are talking about. Greetings from Germany
Don’t u guys forget that Chester only did the singing and off course he had a great voice but he’s gone and won’t come back! We also must remember that Mike Shinoda, Mr Han and Brad where the band co-founders and it’s Mike that writes all the lyrics he also composed all the music with the other 2 members that I mentioned before! So it’s their call and it’s their decision what to make with the band! The sound they create is very different and creative and if they chose Emily I believe in their choice! I looove Emily’s voice and I’m just so happy that they decided t return! Welcome back guys because I missed u so much! Welcome Emily cause u fit perfectly in LP I love your voice ❤️🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻
Nice reaction guys. Love ur banter. It should be mentioned that with the initial live feed show, besides the nerves & high emotion, the mix was not good either. If u haven't yet, I recommend checking out some footage from the current tour concerts. A FAR better representation of Emily live. She's slaying it!
I think the reason they released emptiness machine first were the meaning of the song lyrics. If you read them it sounds like a song written for the critics who didnt want them to make new stuff. And this song is made as an anthem for the world championship of LoL, so they had to wait to release it. But listen to the "quiet" songs they made that Chester never really grasped and hear her really shine
This is the best reaction to this song I have seen. Not only is it super entertaining, you guys know what you are talking about and you make good points. I really enjoyed this.
in previous video guys you choose the worst performence, look at something from the Tour, Hamburg,London ... not really fair to go all out for the first comeback livestream. Just saying if you wan to judge older Chesters songs. Its still not Chester , never will be, but these shows are amazing. She doing great
Very much agreed, I'll be real from an analytical standpoint I think the first live was 50/50 on good/bad but the bad had so many valid reasons. Nerves, suitability, emotions, and like a half dozen other things. So while I'd have loved a 10/10 on the first concert from a completely reimagined band from day 1 after having been out of it for 7 years I enjoyed the live for what it was. And there were bright moments!
And even Chester was recorded fucking up all over the stage at some points, and I still consider him a goddamn god-tier vocalist. It’s a matter of what’s happening in the moment, what’s the mood, and that livestream was Emily getting ready to get pelted from all angles, and I’m sure she had a billion and a half thoughts and emotions during that performance. So like, it’s understandable that she fucked up a bunch on that livestream. The crown really is goddamn heavy. I’m actually in awe that she only choked up once because, me? I would have spent the whole time having a huge panic attack just because of the expectations and pressure. Like, I can deal with fucking up in public, I can deal with stage fright, but just the amount of pressure put on her would have absolutely broken me. I’m so impressed with her, not just vocally but because of how well she’s handling all of this pressure, and on top of that there’s the drama, the Bennington family being fucking crazy, the whole Scientology bullshit… god. I would not step one toe into any of it, but she’s doing it and she’s the GOAT for it. Anyway, fuckups or not I still keep listening to that livestream live performance anyway because, honestly, the vibes were just pure unfiltered joy. So hope I’ll get the possibility to see them live next year.
@@ManubibiWalsh I feel like the people complaining about the Scientology thing don’t really get Scientology and that you can’t just publicly denounce it
@ayezz2811 crazy how people nowadays are so entitled to knowing every detail of their favorite artists/actors, etc. Like they are involved in a personal level and now they feel they have ownership of these people's lives. The art of "respect" is so scarce. Leah Remini showed us the hell the Scientology overlords put people thru when trying to leave and all
Really enjoyed watching this, you should react to them playing live again cause she's gotten sooooo much better and more confident. The show in Soul was amazing.
Since the return they did everything like a perfect pic. At emptiness machine, he started at first and then she went in the band, the piece they looked for. In this one the lyrics is both ends, it could be for the game or it could go for her to, heavy is her crown, and the way she screamed "THIS IS WHAT YOU ASKED FOR" is like you said, a big f*** you to all of us. They came bigger than we ever imagined. 🙌🏻
I was extremely lucky enough to get standing tickets for the London show, a few rows short of the front. She absolutely smashed the old songs out of the park. I implore you to watch the full video of the London live show. The atmosphere was insane!
I love Chester...he's a legend...RIP Chester...i love Emily since her day 1 in LP.....i love Linkin Park since their 1st album....Welcome back Linkin Park😍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I especially love how some of the lyrics sound like an answer to the criticism Today's gonna be the day you notice 'Cause I'm tired of explainin' what the joke is This is what you asked for, heavy is the crown Fire in the sunrise, ashes rainin' down Try to hold it in, but it keeps bleedin' out This is what you asked for, heavy is the Heavy is the crown For me it sound like Mike saying people, ok I am tired to explain you why we chose her, it is a hard to step up to a level similar to Chester but here is the reason why we chose her and in this song she show to everybody that even if she is not Chester she is worthy enough to succeed him
Thank you for your reaction. I asked in different forums before if it is normal for such a high value production to keep the inhale sound in the studio version. Nobody else mentioned it so far. I like it and I assume they left it in to emphasize that the length of the scream was not edited.
Hahaha I like how you guys reacted to the scream and how you said something epic has to happen, and she replied "THIS IS WHAT YOU ASKED FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOORRRR" 😂
There is *nothing* wrong with changing your opinions and beliefs when you're exposed to new information. In fact, you should be proud of doing that; it's holding onto those opinions stubbornly, despite new information proving them wrong, that would be shameful. So never feel bad about changing your mind with new info! (Speaking of new info: check out her live performances of this song in Hamburg and London. She delivers.) Also, definitely still listen to the old stuff! It's good shit! As long as you keep it in mind that Emily isn't Chester, nor is she trying to be, and Linkin Park 2024+ isn't trying to be an imitation of Linkin Park 2000-2017, so you don't compare their voices, you can happily enjoy both eras!
K, I got something to say: Don't stop making videos, y'all. I watch a lot of reaction videos, both to movies and to music, and I've also been following the band's return pretty closely, lamenting the hate, digging into a lot of the cancelation attempts, etc. This is probably my favorite in a few years. The combination of genuine expertise, thoughtful commentary, interpersonal chemistry, great humor, and unabashed contrition in this video is 🔥 and I am *stunned* you have less than a hundred thousand subscribers, let alone less than a thousand. GTFO and keep sprinting, because your channel deserves to blow up.
Maybe y’all do a reaction to the live version LP officially released? Would love to see your reaction to the live version which was recorded in London.
Writing this when you guys questioned why this wasn't released first, so I don't know if you guys brought it up afterwards since I paused the video, but they couldn't release this one first as it was all for being dropped with the League of Legends Worlds Tournament video which is what you watched. So it was probably under contract and such as to why The Emptiness Machine was dropped first. Edit: I also posted on the original video you're watching that the line "This is what you asked for, heavy is the crown" could very well be a direct reference to the people that have been shitting all over LP (I know it would have been written way in advance, but upon the release it could very well have its meaning changed) where Emily is saying "yeah, this is what all of you wanted; to have LP back in the game. Chester was the king and his crown is heavy. But we're here, we're back". At least that's my personal take/thoughts on the meaning of this song.
Hey there, Thank you for being honest and being aware of whats going on. People have doubted her from the start... but of course the internet cant be happy EVER... but the scream was about 16 seconds. When they were in London she did the scream, live for about 14 seconds.. It was pretty epic,
Linkin Park in Arcane S2? I haven't even thought about it. That would be fcking amazing. I blasted laughing and crying at the same time during your reaction to the god tier scream
This. This is how you react. Good feedback, states opinion clearly, no unnecessary comments, and most importantly, entertaining. I just found this channel and i love it already
This is one of my new favourite channels to watch. You guys have such a comfy chemistry and way to go back and forth while still really showing you CARE and love your work in music. Excited to see more reactions, and maybe even one of the live LP set at the league world finals. Hoping you guys get the subs this channel deserves
there is a video from the first live performace of that song on youtube. Its from the concert in hamburg. (LINKIN PARK - Live in Hamburg, 22.09.24/Full Show) (1:46:00)
As for your question on why they did not release this earlier is because of the timing for LoL's World Tournament. This video and the song is the anthem for the tournament. So it is all an issue of timing.
who THE FUCK are you guys AND WHY DIDNT I HEARD OF YOU BEFORE HOLY SHIT not even 3 mins on, and jesus, the humour, the criticism, the maturity of acknowledging one's own biases and mistakes, fuck, I already subscribed, for goddamn sure I'll be watching more of your videos
IMO the first song was "hi again this is our friend emily" and this song is "this is why we picked her"
THIS^^
Yeah i think the emptiness machine was required to be able to introduce her after the band had been playing on stage for a bit and thats why it is the first song released - because it was the first time she was seen on stage - half way through the song.

Yes
The emptiness machine was for emily...read the lyrics
The best comment I've seen on this:
Chester screamed emphasizing his pain. Emily screams emphasizing her rage.

Do you want something of an impact? THIS IS WHAT YOU ASK FOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOR!!!!!???
They planned and wrote a clapback before they even had their comeback. It's genius.
Most of Mike moves are just genius
I think there are two reasons they released The emptiness Machine first:
1. It's feels more like an introduction to Emily, since it has Mike's long melodic part in the beginning and it demonstrates how the two can harmonize well better than Heavy is the Crown
2. Heavy is the Crown was being released with the League of Legends marketing, which would draw attention away from LP and Emily themselves.
And read the lyrics of emptiness machine. Its made for the critics and doubters of the fanbase.
"Your blades are sharpened with precision
Flashing your favorite point of view
I know you're waiting in the distance
Just like you always do"
"
Let you cut me open
Just to watch me bleed
Gave up who I am for who you wanted me to be"
Its obvious
It has the catchiest chorus of almost any song in the last few years lmao

And you answered your own question. "This is more of a nod to the past". Yes when it comes to sound. But they're not trying to live in the past like most fans are....
They're trying to introduce Emily which Emptiness Machine did very well and move forward.
Exactly! I love Chester so much - but I love the rest of the band too, and it just isn’t right to act like they don’t matter, and that the music doesn’t to them as well.
@@greytmom2008 1000% agreed
Indeed they are linkin parks songs, Mike did most of the writing
"You haven't even seen my final form" right out the gate.
I love your comment bro 😂❤
This comment right here. Damn true. Like when Mike told the haters in "When they come for me" to literally try catch up muthatruckers lol
100% they laid the bait and so many picked it up and ran with it.
Because Mike Shinoda is a fucking genius.
your comment after the 16-second scream should be broadcast on all channels and given to schools as "required reading"
That was one gold mine of a rant *chef's kiss I've been laughing NON-STOP
Never doubt Mike Shinoda, he knows LP fans and he knows his craft
I encourage you both to watch LP in Hamburg. Emily sounds amazing! She’s grown far more comfortable with her role and she does Chester proud in a LOT of his songs.
It’s night and day compared to their debut live performance. As one would expect honestly. The world sometimes needs to chill and empathise more. She’s a fan like you and me. She didn’t deserve the hate.
And i can tell you , i was there live , she sounds way better than on the videos . Was one of the best concerts ive been to in my live. The atmosphere was also insane
I Complely agree. She has improved a lot.
Better than the Hamburg recordings?@@ryucradle1416
@@ryucradle1416 you’re right the sound mix for the stream was really bad. Weirdly the vocals were ultra maxxed and that made everything worse.
Seoul was even better. Crowd was loud AF and the band fed off it. Emily is having a lot of fun out there and it comes across in her singing.
W comment W replies
Unfortunately both sides are complaining when they look at their fan-Dom in a vacuum. LoL fans are upset because it's the first worlds anthem to highlight the band, more visually, in the cinematic. And LP fans are annoyed and confused why there's these random animated characters in their official music video. I think the opening ceremony Nov. 2nd, will shut everyone up once they see the 2 truly clash into one. It will all make more sense.
@@ManubibiWalsh Faker and BTS are both nationally recognized by the South Korean government. they are essentially national treasures.
Great reaction guys!! Your emotions after Emily’s screaming are priceless! 😅
‘This is ‘fuck you’ to you, this is ‘fuck you’ to me’ 😂 Great!
And your analysis of the sound is really deep.
Emily sang this song in London and screamed like 14 seconds. And I like live version even more 😊
And to do that scream on the lyric "this is what you asked for"? Chef's kiss.
"if something doesn't happen, I'm punching the shit out of you. repeatedly."
for a moment there i was like "oh, i hope LP delivers" then i remembered i already .heard this song i felt so dumb lol their reactions were so satisfying.
this is definitely a middle finger to everyone. hell, my hairs on my neck always stands in ovation whenever i hear that part.
11:30 I was laughing so hard 'coz I knew what was coming...
From 12:20 to 12:40 this video turns into GOLD MATERIAL. THEIR FACES, THE DIALOGUE😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂
One day this will be Internet history 😂 Fucking epic rant
I honestly think it's Mike's genius planning behind this.
First song chorus lyrics were: "Let you cut me open just to watch me bleed, Gave up who I am for who you wanted me to be."
After first song was released we had a divide in fanbase - and then the second song had the message in chorus:
Second song is: "This is what you asked fooooooooooooooooooooooooooooor!" to remind the fanbase what they asked for after the first song. :)
Your reactions are awesome.
Emliys scream being "This is what you asked for?" is so good
Because it is what we asked for. We as fans wanted THIS!
and that was what haters wanted to see her fail in. but she proved them wrong
At 11:01, Emilie be like "I’m about to end this man’s whole career"
Call an ambulance 🚑 but not for me 😂
I think the biggest part of the FU wasn't just holding the note, but what was being said " This is what you asked for" she killed it IMO, in her own way.
The fact the scream is on the line "This is what you asked for" makes it even better.
THIS IS WHAT WE ASKED FOR!!!!
Yeah Chester only did the full given up scream live like 5 or 6 times total
I honestly love Emily's version to the old songs, no cap. She's my vibe, incredible.
Based on this song, she can do 17 seconds here and in Given Up. She respects Chester and purposefully doesn't do this. If she does this, the "fools" will hate her even more.
so smart to release this song after the emptiness machine , i think they anticipated all the reactions for use the " drama" . thats soo sick and make this comeback so much powerfull
insane move
12:24 I laugh so hard !
Obligatory mention that `heavy is the crown` is literally what Emilly is going through and is the one she delivers the most
poetic maybe idk
"this is a fuck you to youuu, this is a fuck you to meee" XDXD
A message from the dumb*ss duo you love at Kaiju Studios:
THANK YOU SO MUCH for the continued support.
I wasn't expecting her to deliver that scream live and she did - short by maybe a second or so. Absolutely INSANE
You need to watch the Hamburg Concert. She has now practice and confidence. She screamed 11 sec in Hamburg.
Yeah but after an almost complete concert and the little discussion that arose on the stage. Mr.Hahn took it in his hands and we were the lucky ba$$$rds in Hamburg who got it first. Still flashed …
@@hmj9783 My comment wasnt negativ. I understand that she couldnt do a 16sec sream after 2h concert.
This is my favorite reaction so far and ive watched an unhealthy amount now haha
This is a clear 10, at least for me. She is an awesome vocalist and fit so well to the rest of the band.
Agreed. The song is meta as fuck. Great reactions, guys. LP fam, we are so back! 🤘
You guys know what’s up
"If something epic doesn't happen, I'm punching the shit out of you." LMAO
Take a look at their Seoul live performance, LP & the crowd delivered
I love that you know your stuff, how musicians work, how producers work etc. You discuss what could the song do next based on trends etc and usually it works. Even counting the scream in bars was different to other reactions. Hat off! I am expecting you to react to the whole album as well when it drops!
the word's "This is what you asked for" when she's screamin is very symbolic :D :D epic.
Guys....
THIS IS WHAT YOU ASKED FOR!!!!
I absolutely love this song and I even loved emptiness machine too.
Yeah she is not Chester. But she has the guts to step in and try to fill that gap, that Chester left behind.
Love y'all energy! Great reaction :) Love this song
That moment when you both realise that she's STILL going and really showing up with that fuck you scream is just too good
I love this song and I think the new singer is brilliant. Anyway I really enyowed your comments. Great. You know what you are talking about. Greetings from Germany
chester's was 17 seconds, hers was 16. She let cheter keep his scream on top.
Respect
Even Chester had off nights , we have to be honest. They weren't often but they happened
Leah Remini showed us the hell the Scientology overlords put people thru when trying to leave and all
This song rules, and so does this reaction. Love when people can just be like "yo, i was wrong, this is dope"
This was exactly what we asked for.
I'd give you guys 100M thumbs up for the "FU From Emily" reaction if I could. Loved it! ⚡⚡⚡🔥🔥🔥❤🔥❤🔥❤🔥 👸🏼
Seoul show has been uploaded by fans, and is so good, they are getting better with every show. Nice to see LP back
This is why they did this 2nd 😂 she has been singing for 20 years she knows what she is doing!!
You guys have hands down had the best reaction to her scream 😂
I love Chester...he's a legend...RIP Chester...i love Emily since her day 1 in LP.....i love Linkin Park since their 1st album....Welcome back Linkin Park😍🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
I especially love how some of the lyrics sound like an answer to the criticism
Today's gonna be the day you notice
'Cause I'm tired of explainin' what the joke is
This is what you asked for, heavy is the crown
Fire in the sunrise, ashes rainin' down
Try to hold it in, but it keeps bleedin' out
This is what you asked for, heavy is the
Heavy is the crown
For me it sound like Mike saying people, ok I am tired to explain you why we chose her, it is a hard to step up to a level similar to Chester but here is the reason why we chose her
and in this song she show to everybody that even if she is not Chester she is worthy enough to succeed him
like your vibe, your comments are honest and interesting... and you got the inhalation too. Love that!
Heavy is the legacy
19:31 the very same thing people didn't like when Emily was just announced now impresses them 😂
Thank you for your reaction.
She delivers.)
Also, definitely still listen to the old stuff! It's good shit! As long as you keep it in mind that Emily isn't Chester, nor is she trying to be, and Linkin Park 2024+ isn't trying to be an imitation of Linkin Park 2000-2017, so you don't compare their voices, you can happily enjoy both eras!
Anymore than Brian Johnson isn't Bon Scott. But Back in Black is a great album
K, I got something to say:
Don't stop making videos, y'all.
ALSO... please consider doing a reaction to the Hamburg concert.
This put an actual smile on our faces. Thank you so much for your kind words
Maybe y’all do a reaction to the live version LP officially released? Would love to see your reaction to the live version which was recorded in London.
Best reaction video ever! 🔥
It was pretty epic,
Emily Armstrong is perfect!!! ✨⚜️💫⚡👑
Santa Claus!!!! wtf
I swear laughed so fucking loud.

She hit that scream live on stage during the world finals opening ceremony. It was epic
So it is all an issue of timing.
she sound exactly the same live
who THE FUCK are you guys AND WHY DIDNT I HEARD OF YOU BEFORE HOLY SHIT
not even 3 mins on, and jesus, the humour, the criticism, the maturity of acknowledging one's own biases and mistakes, fuck, I already subscribed, for goddamn sure I'll be watching more of your videos
Y'all should react to them singing this live in Seoul. She did the scream after 95 minutes of performing their previous songs at the concert!!
