THE MOST COMPLICATED EXHAUST INSTALL! 135i to 1M conversion

- We finally get the 135i N55 track build back in the shop for a much needed exhaust upgrade. We decided to convert the 135i to accept any 1m specific exhaust so we spent countless hours changing vent lines, bumper reinforcement bar, trunk floor, and much more. With this conversion we installed an aftermarket 1m exhaust with quad tips that improved the sound and look of the 135i.

Thanks man! I'm extremely grateful for everyone's support!
Anybody remember when a vehicle exhaust was a vehicle exhaust and not an exercise in electrical engineering?
I changed in my 128i conv. Remus exhaust system with 4 outlets.
Without so much trouble and I invested my money in the front and rear bumper style 1M
that comes with everything ready to put it together.
It looks 10 times better.
Many people think it is a 1M.
You guys thank you so much for this video,my babey 135i is just about to get the quads and truth be told i feel sorry for the dude that's gonna do it,i will compensate him big time though.Again thank you for sharing,i've subscribed.
This video is exactly what I was searching for. Thank you very much!
As always love the content, please keep them coming! Your videos have enabled me to thoroughly enjoy owning a 2004 e46 330xi and I am grateful!
This guy doesn’t age at all.
Awesome video! I might need advice or help on my conversion. I would love your advice!
Great job Jason! You did everything very well 👍but there’s no substitute for quality exhaust and you can only install what your customer provides you. Still you are a magician 🎩.
Hey do you have a post on the removal and installation of a crankshaft front oil seal on E90 335i at all ??? If not one for the future would be cool. This is the best DIY and BMW channel on you tube. I'm in Australia and try to catch as many of your blogs as I can. Keep them coming champ!!
Your guys are awesome.. Keep up the amazing work..
Could you make a video talking about the alpina engines.Love to hear your thoughst on the v8 variants and the biturbo.
When are you guys coming back to Raleighwood..?? I need help on my e46! Thanks for all the great tutorials btw. 😎
So it is possible!! The video I needed to see!! Ideas ideas ideas!! Are the hoses a necessary replacement??
The hoses make it plug and play, I am sure you can modify the old hoses to make it work
ShopLifeTV I’ll keep it in mind!! Thank you!!
a remus exhaust would have made this a billion times easier lol
Hey, I can’t find where to buy the 1m reimbursement bar with the hangers for the 1m exhaust. Can you send me the link please.
Can you just convert the box with out putting the new evap lines on
Very nice conversion brother and sister. The stock sound was better, in my opinion..
Hi Jason
I am wondering is it possible not to re-wire the Charcoal Canister? Is that still gonna work?
Much appreciated 🙏🙏
Great job wow!
😎👍
Hi Shop Life TV, do you ever source cars for sale? I'm looking for a clean E28 535i. Cheers
What happened to the LS e46?
Nothing it's inside waiting to get a few little tweaks after it's 8000 Mile road trip over the summer. It will be on another long road trip soon
Did you have to modify the exhaust in any way for this swap or was the catback a direct replacement from the 135i back box
hola tengo un bmw 530i 2006 le hice el cambio de selenoides y el gasket del enfriador de aceite y cuando lo quise encender no prendio bateria esta buena y el starter esta bien me podrias ayudar y decirme por k no enciende
Hey, did you end up using the battery cables? Are they required for the oem 1m exhaust conversion? Thanks!
Same steps for n54 and n55?
Hey bro I need to do a rebuild of my instrument cluster for my 2002 e46 m54, do you know any good shops I can mail my cluster out to for repair.. apparently the capacitor failure is common if you've improperly jumpstarted or tried to charge your vehicle. Thank you
Sounds great to me
So I have a 2004 m3 smg. I’ve noticed this almost rattle sound coming from the front of the car when I’m on 2nd or 3rd letting go of the gas it would rattle.?
I have a question about my e46 Sedan. I had my battery off for 12+ hours doing a oil filter housing gasket replacement. I then put my battery back on, once again after 12+ hours, and my cog light came on. The car runs fine, no limp mode, just shift rough a little. I was told by almost everyone I asked that my ecu reset because my battery was off for so long, and that I have to just drive my car NORMALLY several times before the ecu learns how I drive and sets itself.
Is this true?
I have a issue with my bmw 550i with a v8 I keep getting a code it’s p0187 & p0189 any thought on wht I can to?. Iv changed Ccv gaskets and hoses.
you are really awesome
Heat the tubing it goes right on
We ended up using a heat gun to warm it up
Great videos and information. Quick question what do you think of the F85 X5M? Reliable? Any issues?
Thanks Viran! The F85 X5m is reliable for the most part. The drivetrain is better than the e70 x5m and there haven't been any widespread issues on mostly stock F85. They are still fairly new, but pricing has dropped. Most of the early models will be due to for regular services: Spark plugs, gaskets, fluids, suspension, etc.
great video!!
Your videos are so helpful and useful so thank you for all the E46 content you have provided.
But, I feel compelled to say now annoying it is to constantly hear you 'go ahead and' do this and 'go ahead and' do that.
Then you 'went ahead and' did this and 'went ahead and' did that. You do know these words are completely redundant right ?
It seems to be an American thing because while you're not the only one, you are certainly the one who says it more often.
For example, you would say something like "I'm going to go ahead and remove the a/c belt then I'm going to go ahead and remove the alternator belt" instead of the simpler, "I'm going to remove the a/c belt and alternator belt" or even better.... "I'm going to replace the a/c and alternator belts".
'Going to' already insinuates that you'll be doing it so the 'go ahead and' is time-wasting and redundant.
I don't know how this phrasing is introduced to people in America as it's really wide-spread.
But anyway, that's just an annoying thing that I find grinding to the point it made me want to point it out.
As I said you're video's are great and super-helpful and despite all of your 'going ahead and' and when you 'went ahead and', I find your content invaluable !
Hi i need to change m3 2002 smg to a manual... So I need your numbers
Where you been
Better to look funkie then go blind😎
In your opinion what do you think of the 2002 bmw 325xi 5 speed manual car?
Not a fan of the XI personally, for the most part they are just like the rwd E46 just a little harder to service front end components
Well I already bought one
Looks like he needs a back-up camera or sensors!!
Whoops... spoke too soon 😳
Hey how come no new videos for a while?
Do you still have the active muffler?
The aftermarket muffler didn't have that option
Do you still have the stock muffler?
How about this, get your ratty ghetto bumper fixed first? JS
dude im sorry but all that wasnt worth it jeeezzzz....
I really, REALLY dislike BMW 1 serie. Serie 2 as well. To small and to ugly. Sporty and stuff...??? Who cares if it's ugly. And small.
TheCarFactor this is what BMW was before safety regulations started ramping up after the e46 the 3 series started getting bigger and bloated
