The Executioner same with mine. Usually to get it back on I just unplug it for like 30 seconds and then plug it back in but even after I do this, it’ll randomly turn itself off.
Guys this just happened to me so i let my ps4 sit on the table with nothing plugged in for about 2 hours then i came back i lightly hit it on the top abt 3 times then plugged it in and turned on right away
HBK Duarte yea i tried it but i would just leave it unplugged for an hour and it works perfectly fine but when u turn it off unplug it so it turns on good again when u get back on

I have had my PS4 for almost 2 years. It turns on for a moment the fan starts to kick on then it immediately shuts its self off. If I hold the button attempting to see if it will enter safe mode, it will not, it will just shut off.

thank you so much for the notice because mine is the one that has a bad chip in it. and I had been trying to fix it and nothing would work and it would make me very upset so I just want you to know thank you so much for uploading this video :)
For those with Blue Light Of Death: If it doesn't power on or goes on for a moment (but doesn't turn on the fan) and then dies you most likely have a power supply issue. If your light pulses you can try the added washer fix on the diamond shape clamp (youtube it) and maybe apply new thermal paste. If it turns on and off by itself but doesn't respond when you hit power, then it could be bad power supply or faulty solder joint on the chip. These worked for me most of the time but when they don't then chances are the chip needs to reballed properly. Good luck everyone! Oh and make sure to clean your console from dust with a soft bristle toothbrush (dollar store or wherever) or compressed air can. Not truly necessary but definitely helps prolong the console's life.
My ps4 will turn on for like 5 minutes then the screen will start flickering for like 3 seconds then it turns off. But it seems like the longer I leave my ps4 unplugged the longer I get to play.
@@Tronicsfix is there a clip where you use a power power cable on a good console? So I can see what the response is. My console light up blue only for half a second and turns off. No other excpet the beep.
Guys, if you cleaned your PS4 and have a problem getting the PS4 to turn on or it turns on then off, you may have put the power supply back in wrong. Make sure the two long metal pieces are straight and not bent to where it reaches the power brick. Not placing it back in correctly also may make it hard to put the other plastic back on and difficult to put the screws back in the PS4. Went through this myself. Hopes that's the case and you too can save your money.
Ernest Franz - This is most likely a problem with faulty connections between the APU and the motherboard. This is common with consoles that have been dropped or fall. It's not likely a power supply problem. If it's still under warranty they may fix it for you but I'm not sure.
TronicsFix me thing with the ps3 and tey still has problem on the ps4 now..guess when ps4 slim come out that fix the problem..sony should have some sort of warranty fix for their customers...u spend hundres in a console and it gets ad due to hardware not the customer problem but the company sony...sometimes u feel like buying a xbxo one tronics fix dudde i was so happy when geogot the tech genuis hacker hack ps3 back in the day...playstion 3 failed so much it doesn't matter if u the have warranty they kept on failing..yea i know xbxo 360 fail too but still ps3 failed more....and now ps4 failing too the same power supply gpu problem.... i assume xbox one has problems bet there are some videos on youtube but it seem microsoft does ore to fix the problem or improve since xbox 360
kosmo seedo It's hard to compare the problem with the PS4 vs Xbox One. Sony has sold 19 million PS4's and Microsoft has sold $11 million Xbox One's (these are the latest numbers I've found) so there are lots more PS4's out there which means that there will naturally be more PS4's with problems. That being said I've seen a lot of PS4's with pattern faults (turning on then back off, HDMI ports, etc) whereas the Xbox One doesn't have as many of those.
TronicsFix in a sense u right but am sayin withthe ps3 and xbox 360 they had their red light of death blue light of death etc...they problem with redlod of death it ti was not the power supply it was the bad solder joiny s on the processor...they were to use lead solder it had a higher melting poi nt..not to mention pos3 and xbox had the laser went on on the disk drive they would not play games.........sony should have done better to address those problems withthe ps4 better cooling use lead solder joints on the processor...like u siad ps4 has more problems compare to xbox one..guess microsft improve on its design flaws....it dont matter how many ps4 out there...they had the same problem since ps3 n ow to ps4...ppl invest too much money to go bad like that....
this just happened to me. i took out the hard drive and the power supply and cleaned all of the components that I could reach with some compressed air. put it all back together and it works again. Mine was extremely filthy and hasn’t been cleaned in almost 3-4 years. hope this helps somebody, i was very happy not to loose mine.
Guys I have a ez fix. So I just cleaned my PS4 and dust just went flying everywhere. When you remove the power supply there are two metal things standing straight Check the spot on the power supply there may be dust inside it and you just have to clean it with a blow dryer or compressed air and that’s it my PS4 turned on right after
Usually after it happens I turn it off and back on, and it starts right up like nothing happened, but as the months go by it seems to be happening more and more often.🙃
It's great to see that you gave out a neat video of the PS4 console that turns on and right back off again. I never experienced that problem before..... but my friend's PS4 was having the problem the other day that he must have dropped his console from a 5 ft height. Normally the PS4 would have a 50/50 chance of either checking on safe mode or that the unit would fail to boot. It turns out that his console turned on and that the beam of blue light went through the PS4 (and then it suddenly disappears). I would probably guess that the PS4 would have something to deal with a faulty power supply.
+MrPcGameNerd It's highly unlikely that it's a power supply issue. Too many people are out buying power supplies for these when that's not the problem. Your's is most likely a bad connection between the APU and motherboard or a bad APU itself. www.tronicsfix.com/store/p25/PS4_Turns_On_Then_Back_Off_Fix.html
+TronicsFix I don't believe that I have a bad connection between the APU and motherboard or a bad APU itself. I live in Canada.... so it wouldn't be possible to have my PS4 sent in. Plus I already bought the accidental warranty for 2 years (from the Playstation Store) so I should be able to rest easy. Plus it depends on how people treat their consoles properly, how they store it in room temperature, etc. Some people would take their consoles on the go and that it would have a possible chance that it will fall at a possible 5 ft from the ground (which would have a 50/50 chance of turning on). If it was at 15 ft, it would not survive (unlike an X-box One where it could survive).
My ps4 turns on and I when I click on the game it starts loading and cuts off says the cord was unplugged and sometime it will come on and go off a minute or two later will the washer fix.fix my issue
my playstation used too turn on normally and I would be able to play it for hours but getting it to start up again always was a hassle. it would continue too turn off shortly after it's on or it take a minute or too but recently it just wont turn on at all.
Hi TronicsFix. I need some information. I hope this reaches you. I ve got the 1st generation PS4. The issue it switches on for 1 sec with the blue light on and switches off after directly just with 1 click. Just like the video. AND it does not respond to power on command after that. Unless i unplug the power cord and put it back on, it does the same thing. What would you advise? should i try to change the power supply. Your help will be much appreciated. Thanks.
My ps4 worked fine for a full 4 years with zero issues so to me, the problems described seem unlikely to me, but I'm no technician. Also, the test run with a bad power supply was helpful, that is not the manner in which my light turns on and off. Thank you.
Hi Steve, thank you for this video. My PS4 is acting just like the one you showed with the bad power supply. What I am finding strange is that, I could still fully power on and use my PS4 if I removed the HDMI cable. This worked a few times and now it just act like you showed in the video, regardless of the HDMI cable being plugged in or not. From your experience, is the PS4 power supply easily repairable (for someone with experience in electronics, of course)?
What about if it doesn't turn on at all? My ps4 has some cockroaches inside. My friend had the same problem and he just got a new one since he didn't want to mess with it. Can it be the power supply? Fyi I have the CUH-1115A model.
One more possibility, if the console has been opened, is that one of the power block connectors is bent, just came across this version, symptom was almost the same. Light came on for a second or two then turned off, when pressed again it just beeped once and if pressed again light came on for 1-2 sec, repeating the pattern.
Mine doesn't turn off this quickly. This is what happens for me: I turn the PS4 on and it works normally for hours, I finish and power it down entirely. Then after a few hours it will power itself back on, start to go through the normal boot process and turn off, then this loops where it turns on normally (white light), shows the loading bar on screen for the "improper shutdown" thing and then shuts down. I had to unplug the PS4 to get it to stop, so I did. After a few more hours, I plugged it back in and made sure to really have the power cable stuck in the slot on the PS4, booted it up, and it ended up working fine. Might this be some sort of power connection issue?
same for me along w/ an overheating problem (i cleaned it _wasn't really dusty in the 1st place for a launch system_ and changed the thermal). the Problems still exist so i just unplug it when im done and plug it back up when im going to use it.
When mine actually turns on it works fine and it usually stays that way but every now and then if I put it on sleep mode or just turn it off when I try to turn it back on it'll turn on and then off. Ill disconnecy it to reset the CPU and most of the time it'll restart again just fine but sometimes it won't work so I will try again until it does. What do you think could be the problem?
+BornToFlex Mine did this yesterday. But every other time i try to start it up and it just beeps then turns right back off. Sometimes it doesnt beep. Sometimes it beeps and there is no light. It takes a few tries to get it on. Is there no way to fix this? just got ps4 brand new a few days ago. really frustrating!
I have another sort of solution. Remove the top panels of the PS4. Then, remove the little metal piece on the right side of the console. Instead of placing washers, push down on one of the little plastic pieces that hold the metal piece in place. While doing this, turn the console on. I've tries this today and it worked so If you can, give it a try :)
I took a chance and picked up a PS4 cheap on Ebay that was not working. Got it hooked up to see what it was doing and thanks to this video its just a bad power supply. Used a friends PS4 power supply to test and it booted right up without any problems. So glad I got lucky and it was the fixable kind. Ordered a new power supply and just waiting for it to arrive so I get get everything up and running. Thanks again for this great video.
Hey i have a question. Basically my ps4 used to have trouble running big games and so i cleaned it and was perfectly fine for a week. But then my ps4 would just randomly turn off without a message(ps4 too hot). So the question is it because of the power supply or something else?
Nick Stewart: It's likely that yours needs to be repaired. This problem will probably get worse as time goes by. If you ever want to send it in here is the link: www.tronicsfix.com/store/p25/PS4_Turns_On_Then_Back_Off_Fix.html
+TronicsFix I have the same problem as Nick Stewart has, unfortunately I can't send it in, because I'm from Germany. Am I right in assuming that this failure is most likely caused by a bad solder joint underneath the APU?
+J Bender Yes, either a bad joint or the APU itself. Too bad you don't live closer! We don't have any relationships with shops over there so I don't even know who to refer you to.
My PS4 turns on for 5 seconds with the light and some kind of scream coming from the fan but shuts off shortly after like in the first demonstration. This clearly isn't a power supply issue as it does not have the pulsing light and is alive for a bit longer but I'm confused because there is no straight forward answer. I'm aware I might have to replace the fan itself but don't know what else I'm supposed to get.
So you know how unplugging the system during use will force it to check system storage on the next reboot. Well, I found by starting my PS4 then unplugging it to trigger this screen will fix the system and let it boot.
I took mine apart to clean it since the fan was ramping up. So i applied new thermal paste and gave it a good dust out. But now it won't power on and i get the blue light for a second or so. I swapped the power supply with my brothers unit but the same problem. Did i not apply enough thermal paste? Please tell me i didn't break my PS4. I also tried the washer trick for the APU but nothing is working.
TronicsFix mine is like a full second... at first I Hurd the ps4 zap and I knew it was that... for a the day it didn’t want to turn on at all and the next morning it those that.... turns on for a second and turns off
@@Tronicsfix I got a problem signing in my Psn lately..coding showed (CE30391-6) and now my console has this problem; wont start. What is your suggested action on this? Is overheating the reason?
Kinda late to the video and not sure if you or anybody will respond but I have the exact same problem.. but I don't think my fan is spinning. Do you think I need to get a new PSU?
Thanks to this Video I was able to diagnose a faulty power supply and I was able to do that with success. thanks man I appreciate you very much. Have a blessed day.
I need help, I can play my ps4 for about an hour before it just suddenly turns off, and when I get back on it says that I powered it off wrong, what should I do?
Thanks for making this video. It is the key for this problem since it shows clearly how to tell if the power supply is faulty or not. In my case the power supply was good. (I was jut about to buy one). So I followed the instructions on your video "PS4 On And Off DIY Fix" and presto, I now have a functioning PS4. :)
Mine just happened tonight. I have the exact ps4 you're showing in this video and when i try to turn it on it sounds like the second example you showed. Guess I need a new power supply
Mine runs for a few hours but then turns off randomly. When switching off the light doesn't change colour or anything. And I need to turn off and on the power switch for it to start again. If I turn it back on just after it switches off it will stay on only for a couple of minutes but I wait for a few hours before turning it back on it will work longer. What do you think is wrong with my system ?
I don't know much about ps4s but it sounds like it's something to do with heat do you have your PS4 in a inclosed space and can you hear your fan kick on
@@Redaliso I can hear the fan work. And its not kept in a closed space but I haven't connected an external cooling fan or anything. And when I touch the system it feels really hot. But I thought that's normal. Anyway I'll try opening it up today.
@@e3nlee I opened it up and cleaned up all the dust with a low power vacuum cleaner. Its been 2 days and I haven't had any problems so far. Might have test it more to confirm whether its actually fixed or not. Edit: I had also unplugged the power cord and plugged it back in using a little force just to make sure that its not lose. And inside the port of the power cable there was some dust so I cleaned that up as well.
My ps4 was showing the blue light and beeping then turning off, I tried the fix but the washers I used were plastic and when I tried to turn it back on something flashed and made a pop sound, now there's no light or beep.
I have a PS4 that was working fine until my grand son took it apart to clean in. When doing that he got a little ahead of himself and pulled out the power supply without tilting it first and ripped out the power supply connector on the motherboard. All 4 pads were ripped out of the board and I have spent way too much time trying to MaGiver it. I just bought an as is PS4 tha turns on and turns back off. I have a good power supply and also have all the matching chips on the original motherboard. Am I pretty well coverd on this repair ?
Hey i was wondering. What could be the issue with a PS4 that turns on then off then on then off? The only way to stop it from the on and off cycle is to unplug it. Do you think its the power supply struggling to power on the PS4?
Hi there I have a PS4 pro, it beeps once, blue light comes on for a second and then turns off, if I press the eject button it will beep as many times as I press the eject button, please help
Ok so this pc was built in 2010 i changed the old parts with new one but when i start pc the monitor showed no display and the usb ports stoped working, then i met RYANSROOM617 on Instagram he help me setup my PC back and is working perfectly, he also helped my kids unbanned their ps4 .. ..He's a pro hacker and legit 👩💻 You can also text him on WhatsApp +1 442 233 0240... ... try him his service is affordable ...
Ok y’all I may be late to the party, but what I did *1*was make sure the ps4 was completely shut off. *2* Then hold the power buttons till I heard 2 beeps (hold for about 8 seconds). *3* Restore default settings (this will wipe everything in the ps4, but you can redownload everything). If that doesn’t work repeat steps 1 and 2 and rebuild database. And if that also doesn’t work repeat steps 1 and 2 again and Update software. Hopefully this works for you because it worked for me. I had to do all 3 of those, in order. Hope you get to play again.
I have this problem of blue light comming on for a couple of seconds with my brand new ps4 pro and it also cannot be exchanged due to i am not in the country of purchase because covid - 19 please if anyone could help me fix this ?
Hi, I just experienced this issue and was overnight. All working good yesterday, I spent around 30 mins fixing this morning. I kept taking the power in and out, while pressing the power button I would also press the disc tray button. I played around for a while hoping this would wake up the PlayStation. Luckily it worked but unsure if this is temporary or a one off - hope this works for you.
I just deep cleaned my ps4 watching your video and added the thermo paste and now I it turns on then back off. The fans are rolling for a split second then off. I feel like I just fucked up my console. A console I have been using since it came out. . . The memories I have made with will never be replaceable. And now I just don't know what else to do. . . . I think I need to sit down for a minute. My chest is aching. 😔I just don't know anymore.
My ps4 recently started doing this. No joke, my solution was smacking the back of it and tapping my fingers around where the psu would be. Didnt even take it apart. I swear it worked for me, but idk if everyones problem can be solved the same.
I got a broken ps4 yesterday for cheap - it has been dropped. It turns on and you get a pulsing blue light for about 5 seconds then it makes a click noise and turns off. I have opened it up (warranty stickers were intact when I bought it) the fan doesnt spin at all (although a couple of times its tried to spin). anyone any ideas?
spinksy173 mine does the same turns on blue light goes off after 3 or 2 seconds but then if i press the power button, its like i turned it off. Cause it will beep then i press again it beeps on with blue light press power button beeps then press button beeps blue light, did u found solution for this?
Izhar Correa same I tried turning it on it beeps light turns on for 2-3 seconds then it turns off completely with that click sound and doesn’t turn on again and I’m afraid that I might have to buy a new ps4
Hey @TronicsFix I know this video is a couple years old now but has there been an increase in power supply failures since you posted this or would you say that it is still only 10-20% of consoles have the power supply as the issue?
Hey I don’t know if you will see this but My PS4 will go blue, beep, and then cuts off I’ve swapped the outlet a few days ago and it worked but now it’s not Do you have any clue as to what’s going on?
The problem I am having is that my PS4 is turning on and the PS logo is showing up but after that the screen stays black for a minute then turns off. If I hold the power button down for seven seconds, a couple of helpful options show up that I can click on but then the screen goes black and turns of after a minute. Before it started doing this it would take a long time to get into anything that I click into on the home screen and I’m not sure what to do so if you can please help me
Hi I was wondering if you could help when I turn my PS4 on it comes on and when I log into my account the screen turns black for about a second then the PS4 turns off but when I log into my brothers account the playstation works fine I just wanted if you know how to fix this as I have PlayStation plus on my account and all my progress in the games.
How to tell the difference, counting from when the lights turn on: Bad Power Supply: *beep* > count two second (no fans spinning) > off Bad PSU/Contacts: *beep* > count three seconds (fans may spin a bit) > off I have established that mine has a bad power supply with this method.
Valentyn Lyevyentsov what if once it turns turn off you can't try to turn it back on again it's dead unless you unplug it from the outlet and wait a few seconds then plug it again then it does the same thing ?? Any clues ?
thanks man i been too broke to take it to a fixer minimum they want is $120. i miss playin its been months i wll buy a new power supply on ebay for $30 and give it a shot. i think you may be right! cheers man
My pro has a similar issue.. Turns on then instantly off, after it does that, the power button does absolutely nothing until I unplug it and plug it back in, any ideas?
@@StaazMusic yep it works fine, currently i modded a pc case and stuck evrything in there, cooler i used is a corsair h100i. i would just bought a new powersupply for the pro, but they were 150-200
What gets me is I had this problem about a year ago then it went away and I just moved and the problem is back again. I tried connecting the power to a surge protector and also tried just plugging directly into the wall and it still keeps shutting off. My system isn’t getting hot. I’ve installed fans in my entertainment center one blowing in and the other blowing out to keep cool air circulating inside the enclosure and that has dramatically reduced the heat building up. So it seems unlikely that it would be a hardware issue if the problem went away for a year despite using it every single day with no problems. I’m trying a database rebuild and I’ll see what that does.
It's happening to me been 2 days did all internal cleaning too still has same problem. While playing even at low fan speed ps will turn off and won't turn on again for a while. Any solution?
MURDOC AXK I took my ps4 to the work shop they said that its the board's problem & i have to get a new one. If ur ps4's engine is booting or if u can her the fans or the engine starting up & then if the ps4 is going off try reseting it manually by holding it for about 6-7 secons then u can hear a beep and do not let go then the ps4 will start up in safe mode and u will find the restar ps4 on the bottom and restart it... It will work but only if ur engine is like... U know.. Starting and suddenly going off. And make sure u unplug all the cables i.e, plugged onto ur ps4 i.e,power cable, HDMI, and if there is any data cables connected and let it cool down for like 10-15 mins and then continue with this procedure.... If not it's the board..
Nidhal V.B cool man am gone try that if its not going to work well i guess i need to buy a new one but then i will buy the ps4 pro. but anyways thank you for this tip.you just told me what my ps4 does my ps4 dpes exactly the same things like you said so i guess ut is going to work. (hope you understand me because of my grammar😂😂😂). im gone try that as soon as possible 😉😀😀😀
mine clicks two times then after one second it clicks one more time then it stops. i pressed it one more time then i hear it come on but no light or anything. someone please help.
+Shockz gamingHD Yes, these are typical symptoms of this problem. We're happy to take a look at it if you'd like: www.tronicsfix.com/ps4-turns-on-then-back-off.html
+Shockz gamingHD Make sure your console is turned off then unplug every wire from it. Then, wait 2 minutes and plug in only the power cable. Press down firmly on top of the ps4 next to the power cable. Turn it back on and wait to see if it turns on fully. Finally, plug in all the other wires.
+Certii Abz Okay, I just tried what you said, and it turned on fine, But Im not speaking to soon. Im just happy it works, before, it just turned on, shows blue light, then turned right back off. Now it stays on longer. Also, when I smell the back of the PS4 it smells like something is burnt. I dont know what it is. I also left my PS4 to cool over time last night. but thanks for this. It works a bit, aleast I was able to get my disk out.
Thanks, Your tip about having to unplug it and plug it back in before blue light would turn on at all lead me to diagnose it as the power supply. Needles to say easy fix once I knew I was in the 10% with bad power supplies.
Ok, so I'm having a lot of trouble determining if I have a power supply or apu problem, and while this video helps a lot, there are a few things that still prevent me from figuring out whether to buy a power supply, try out your vid on fixing the apu, or maybe reballing. My ps4 will turn on, give me a blue light, then turn off within 1-2 seconds. I don't hear a fan at all really, but theres probably a few "clicks" if you can even call it that. The ps4 also starts working again for half a day if I leave it unplugged for a full day (glad for this cuz I was able to eject a game as well as copy data that I didn't want lost). Finally, when I try to turn it back on right away it doesn't try turn on again until about 5-10 seconds later. This problem seems to have a mix of the apu/power supply symptoms, and it does not help that the power supply example in this video was awful. In the vid, i don't know wtf that weird beep was when you turned it on, I hardly heard any clicks. I kind of heard a click that sounded like a flipping a light switch if that is the "click". Can anyone help diagnose what problem my ps4 has?
i have this same problem i can play mine up 2 weeks if i dont turn it off but as soon as a turn it off boom back to on and off ima dissamble it and see if i can find anything
I have to admit, after leaving it off for a few days, and simply not playing it extensively, it has yet to repeat the problems. I'm thinking perhaps mine needs a cleaning or something. I don't even know anymore

This always works for me
Thanks
My ps4 will turn on for like 5 minutes then the screen will start flickering for like 3 seconds then it turns off. But it seems like the longer I leave my ps4 unplugged the longer I get to play.
same. sometimes the controls go crazy before it turns off too

This happens to me! Anyone has a solution? What's the problem?
Make a claim with Sony and make them give you another one its not fair we give them our hard earned money and in return we get a
Faulty Ps4

Sony won't give you anything unless it's still under warranty.

@@Tronicsfix is there a clip where you use a power power cable on a good console? So I can see what the response is. My console light up blue only for half a second and turns off. No other excpet the beep.
Guys, if you cleaned your PS4 and have a problem getting the PS4 to turn on or it turns on then off, you may have put the power supply back in
wrong. Make sure the two long metal pieces are straight and not bent to where it reaches the power brick. Not placing it back in correctly also
may make it hard to put the other plastic back on and difficult to put the screws back in the PS4. Went through this myself. Hopes that's the
case and you too can save your money.
wow men, you was so scare to be on camera back then... love your work
“Have fun gamin’” 😪 it don’t work dude.
mine beeps, turns blue, clicks about 50 times then shuts off. what is that? I already replaced the power supply myself. I'm at a loss
+Amber Wells It's most likely got bad connections between the APU and motherboard. This is super common on these.
TronicsFix my ps4 clicks turns on for 2 seconds then there is a low beep inside the system then clicks again and turns off. What is this?
Ezekiel Armstrong It's most likely not the power supply. You probably have a problem with a bad connection on the APU or a bad APU.
this just happened to me. i took out the hard drive and the power supply and cleaned all of the components that I could reach with some compressed air. put it all back together and it works again. Mine was extremely filthy and hasn’t been cleaned in almost 3-4 years. hope this helps somebody, i was very happy not to loose mine.
Garrett Hooper hey! Having the same problem I’d like to know how to clean it? Pressured air or?
this happened to me to
Guys I have a ez fix. So I just cleaned my PS4 and dust just went flying everywhere.
When you remove the power supply there are two metal things standing straight
Check the spot on the power supply there may be dust inside it and you just have to clean it with a blow dryer or compressed air and that’s it my PS4 turned on right after
Usually after it happens I turn it off and back on, and it starts right up like nothing happened, but as the months go by it seems to be happening more and more often.🙃
+Eddie Morris I have no idea if it will or not. There's a good chance it will but this fix isn't 100% or anything.
Mine does same thing
my playstation used too turn on normally and I would be able to play it for hours but getting it to start up again always was a hassle. it would continue too turn off shortly after it's on or it take a minute or too but recently it just wont turn on at all.
Fix?
Thank you.
Same bro I was just playing fortnite and boom my stuff turns off
Hi Steve, thank you for this video.
+denisclc No, the power supply is not easily repairable.

This is what happens for me:
I turn the PS4 on and it works normally for hours, I finish and power it down entirely.
Same problem have u fixed it yet?
+worldjem I'm not sure about this...It's probably a connection problem between the APU and motherboard but I can't say for sure.
I also have the same problem :(
same for me along w/ an overheating problem (i cleaned it _wasn't really dusty in the 1st place for a launch system_ and changed the thermal). the Problems still exist so i just unplug it when im done and plug it back up when im going to use it.

Same
What if it turns on for about 45seconds to 1 minute then turns off? & sometimes the light is white?
+Faze rug's Probably bad solder joints or APU.
Take it back and exchange it. Yes, there is another way to fix it...you can reball it.
was brand new but not from a store. so i can't exchange it unfortunately :( and what is reball?
i just looked it up i understand now. But damn i'm kinda screwed
Thanks to your video, I was able to diagnose a PSU problem and now my PS4 is working again! Thanks so much for the video!
Nick Stewart: It's likely that yours needs to be repaired. This problem will probably get worse as time goes by. If you ever want to send it in here is the link: www.tronicsfix.com/store/p25/PS4_Turns_On_Then_Back_Off_Fix.html
Alright I'll see about sending it in.
+Nick Stewart Sounds good. Just let me know if you have any questions.
Do u think its worth getting a 1Tb ps4? Have there been any problems with it?
My playstation turns off by itself In rest mode or while im playing a game what could be a possible fix
versaci sensi its just overheating
My PS4 turns on for 5 seconds with the light and some kind of scream coming from the fan but shuts off shortly after like in the first demonstration. This clearly isn't a power supply issue as it does not have the pulsing light and is alive for a bit longer but I'm confused because there is no straight forward answer. I'm aware I might have to replace the fan itself but don't know what else I'm supposed to get.
So you know how unplugging the system during use will force it to check system storage on the next reboot. Well, I found by starting my PS4 then unplugging it to trigger this screen will fix the system and let it boot.
This actually worked for me, thanks dude
Thank God my playstation is apart of that 5 to 10%

I took mine apart to clean it since the fan was ramping up. So i applied new thermal paste and gave it a good dust out. But now it won't power on and i get the blue light for a second or so. I swapped the power supply with my brothers unit but the same problem. Did i not apply enough thermal paste? Please tell me i didn't break my PS4. I also tried the washer trick for the APU but nothing is working.
1:54 this is exactly my problem so do i just replace the power supply?
@ionstar751 :D promise me I'm so scared 😭
The fan doesn’t start for me though
so if my ps4 only turns on for a split second i just need to replace my power supply?
+SilverLapraz That could be the problem. There's no way for us to know without being able to see it "split-second" is different for everyone.

Luckily it worked but unsure if this is temporary or a one off - hope this works for you.

Hey @TronicsFix I know this video is a couple years old now but has there been an increase in power supply failures since you posted this or would you say that it is still only 10-20% of consoles have the power supply as the issue?
Have you had any luck with reflowing the APU chip with liquid flux and a lot of heat?
I don't do reflows. They aren't reliable enough. Even reballs on these aren't always reliable.

+UnpreparedGamer If you only pressed down firmly once on top of the PS4 try pressing down 3 times not anymore or it will damage your PS4.
+UnpreparedGamer That's if it doesn't work when you press down firmly once.
*Thanks a lot, mate! You are a real pro and helping people so much!*
@TronicsFix plz give advice
I have to admit, after leaving it off for a few days, and simply not playing it extensively, it has yet to repeat the problems. I'm thinking perhaps mine needs a cleaning or something. I don't even know anymore
