Man, this brings back memories. I grew up catching crappie on Watts Bar. Old Rockwood boy here banished to the wilds of RVA. Can't wait to get back someday.
I'm up north and I just picked up two 10' poles. now I use long poles for walleye trolling but we had an amazing crappie bite this winter wonderful eats. Now I can't wait for the ice to melt I'm tired of icefishing. Thanks for sharing 👍
I heard a couple reviews of the rod breaking when setting the hook. Do you feel like the rod is pretty strong, and what is the biggest size fish you think it can handle?
I was at the lake yesterday and I couldn't catch a thing . I know it is the fall / winter transition. They are wandering and scattered. I tried the creek on the lake and had no luck. This lake has a lot of underwater stumps. So, I knew long line trolling would be hang up city. The wind got really bad so I got off of the water. There was a guy at the ramp that had tore them up. I had seen him on the water with long poles. He had livescope. He was basically long poling crappie he saw on his livescope . I guess if you don't have luvescope you could catch them with spider rigging long poles as well. I am going to go back and try that soon
I have several long poles from 12 to 8 ft love em i have a 12 ft rear seat that has perfect balance and weight I'd like to try one of those acc's but there a little pricey for my budget !!!
I use 8ft rods to crappie fish year round on Sam Rayburn and Toledo bend but in the case of livescope to be able to jig fish and be away from boat I can say a long pole is handy but not necessary for anything else but works
Always big crappie in deep water, giants spawn on hard trees in 20 ft suspended hi.Very common on Southern lakes.I would probably be trolling covering more water don't worry about water level
Wow just seeing this out of the box ruclips.net/user/postUgkxQr1yd4Zc6qJF-scTB6Zb9dQbVpviuRxB recommend I have yet to fish with this set up, but based on the first hands on appeal, I can tell this is going to change the way i pack and carry to a whole new level. If you fish like i do, you know the smaller and less stuff the better. I’ve added a photo of just some of my gear so you can see how serious i am about fishing.
Subbed! Thank you for all the effort, believe me I know how hard editing video can be. Time consuming and tedious, especially when you can be fishing instead. I have always been curious about the long panfish rods. I don't own one, but now I am thinking hard about my 5'6" ultralight poles vs these big fellas. I already own 3 Piscifun reels, very durable and no complaints after 3 years of use, (not many people are familiar with the brand) so your recommendation holds some wt. with me because of that. I will most likely go with ACC when I do buy one, my go to brand from Park Rapids Wi. does not make a rod to this length so maybe change is good...? Thanks brother, for all the great viddy's! They are especially valid to me as I live just south of you where a couple of BIG rivers meet. Great info
Can’t wait for the next episode! Do you ever fish in the central Wisconsin area? Trying to find some good crappie lakes that aren’t so far north. Love the videos dude!
Speaking of breaking rods. I have the same boat cleats as your boat. I can't count the number of times my rod has been leaned against the side then slid under the rod cleat. If you just barely lift the butt it snaps instantly. Have you broke any rods like that in your boat?
For the 6.6, 8 and 10 foot rods, I typically use 1000 size reels. The7.6 i use as a multi species setup, so I pair that with a 2000 size reel. Specifically the ViperX reels by piscifun.com . I have an 18% off code: Flopping18
@@FloppingCrappie thank you, for the reply. I am a fan of the piscfun reels, I have several. I'll definatley use your code for my next purchase. Thanks again
@@franciousmcfall3522 I would look at either Lowe Stinger 175C or Tracker pro 170. I know War Eagle makes some good boats, but not sure on the prices for them.
Every major rod manufacturer makes their rods in China. Korea, Japan, or Taiwan. I understand trying to buy U.S. made gear, but unfortunately, there isn't a major manufacturer out there that makes rods in the U.S
@Indoor Nepenthes are their rod blanks made there? Or are they tying eyelits (assembling) in Parks Falls? St. Croix rods are fairly pricy, great quality, but pricey.

Nice explaination. I saw some guys talking about using 12 - 16ft rods and I had no idea why. Now that I have a Panoptix, it makes sense.
Very nice fish 🐟 fun to see things come back around we used 10/12 foot can poles when I was a kid great times hope made some good money

Those 10ft are great trolling rods
I love my ACC stiks there are extremely comfortable light sensitive and with a excellent back bone

Videos are getting better and better. Keep it up.

Thanks!
i love to use 12ft telescopic rock whip to cast big sinkers and multi hook line.
its great to catch anything near the bottom.
Those were some nice fish bro! Great luck in the tournament!!
I enjoy your videos as per your advice I just ordered the 12' cork rod keep it up.

I used two 10 foot fibreglass rods trolling nilsmaster and rapala lures in Port Phillip Bay in the 60s Mainly caught flathead and snapper 🇦🇺✝️👍

I'm going to try fishing the petenwell flowage or castle rock this spring/summer. I've heard there is some good crappie fishing in those systems
Best thing about Ugly Sticks is their durability as well as great price
I like 9- and 10-foot crappie jigging rods.

Yep, I've broken atleast one 8ft rod because of my boat cleat
My bro has did it twice on his boat take them off I did I don't ever use them anyway
Nice video I was looking for a long rod and I’m new to the long rod thanks what’s the cost on the rods
The 10ft rods are $59.99, the 12ft are $89.99
Thanks for the video. Now that you asked what would you recommend for a first time fish finder? To be mounted on my 16ft bow rider. Thanks
Might get the 7'6 M action for crappies and white bass and walleye ???
The 7'6" is my go-to multi-species rod
Love Bank fishing video'a no boat or kayak. Pones Rivers Creeks and Lakes. FISH ON
What size reel do you use thousand series and I think fish would you use a 7.6 ACC crappie Stix
Typically I use a 2000 size reel.
@@FloppingCrappie what about a 2500 I got a thousand series
Are you leaving the drag loose on purpose? And if so why? Thank you.
I have 5.5 rods to 12 footers I'll be honest I like a 6' to 8 foot rod for everything but they all have there uses
I mostly use 6'6-8ft when I'm back home in Wisconsin.
What’s the intro beat called??
I don't remember, but I get all my music off of soundcloud.com
What action rods are these? Ultra light, light, med-light?
Medium/fast

Are those 2 piece rods?
The longer rods 8ft+ are two pieces rods. ACC makes one piece rods for 7ft and smaller
What is a great crappie boat to purchase?
What price range are you looking at?
@@FloppingCrappie 15,000

Did you win the $600 at the tournament?
I did not, unfortunately
Longer rods just get to places others can't...but, shorter ones are the grab-&-go reliable for the quicky...just a woman's opinion....
