I really appreciate this video! Much easier to use than the instruction booklet. I watch it every time I load mine with genuine FPP 40 speed double-perforated b&w film.

What a great video. I just "inherited" this exact camera and tons of shot film from the 1930s and now plan of shooting on this very camera in honor of the man that used it almost 100 years ago. I will be buyong film at your store thanks again.

Thanks for the great review, I just got my hands on a very clean one off of eBay for $40 with a nice clean lens all working and I just loaded it up with some B&W film from the FPP. I will convert it to single after my first test. I've did it to an older Bolex and a few other cameras so I'm not worried. 😁

Thank you very much FPP for creating this live tutorial! I had to load this camera years ago, before this video was ever available. It stressed me out so much having to follow the original manual. 1930s levers and buttons are simply not intuitive to us today. To be able to see live action loading is invaluable.

This is an incredibly useful tutorial! I own one of these ancient beauties. It arrived a few months ago and - big surprise - it had a partially exposed reel in it. I bought a vintage Kodak 8mm camera, as well; same story. I'll finish the reels off, ship them to you for processing - and cross my fingers!

@@abohosamabohosam4178 This is what happened: I was ready to expose the film, then look into how to have the film processed. I was also preparing to expose glass plate negatives for the first time. What happened? I was struck by a car and now, in October 2021, am finally healed and walking around. Very dramatic events!
So, I have no news to share! 😟 I plan to return to filming and photography soon - before the snow arrives in northern Vermont. 🐧

Have a strange affinity for these long bygone media's after writing screen plays as a youth. Later life found me purchasing this model, which sadly lacked the lens element making it entirely useless for shooting, but when there still is life, either in the camera, or myself, there is yet hope. The provided instruction was helpful, when in time I find the lens for it, I may at long last try my hand at Amateur Film Making. This camera may not be the Apex of motion picture technology, but being a Kodak, I am certain it will satisfy my needs. My continued regard for your efforts to in keeping film a viable media for expression. Very best wishes!

I just received my first roll of film from this camera and it appears that I was slightly off when loading the film. The film pulls or jumps a little throughout the roll. I'll try one more roll and pay extra attention to loading. Hopefully it works properly so I don't waste more money on it.

What is the most suitable developer for a 16mm double perf film, does it work with the home developer of caffeinol c, and does it work with the positive reflection process and materials process, to make a positive film and develop it, I wait for your answer and thank you.

I have 16mm movies, one dated sometime in 1928. My grandfather was a photographer and he apparently borrowed the hardware. That particular film is on a Hudson River boat going to Bear Mountain Park. I have run these movies numerous times in a 16mm projector, they are still in perfect condition, no "vinegaring" of the film.

Thank You for your tutorial, very informative and to the point! I want to try this camera out tomorrow and just received a camera in Dublin, Ireland from Georgia USA, purchased from ebay. It is a 1941 model k with lovely case and 2 lenses. The Filmo 70-DA stalled on me about a month ago. Do you recommend the online android phone meters? The meter that Mike Rasso mentioned in a video is interesting. Do I set my shutter to 1/30th sec with the model k? A big fan of your podcasts, always good banter and topics. Cheers!

I suspect the double perforation could allow for faster smooth projection. Ampro that has a variable control?

hey i have this camera and am planning on getting some film for it from you store. The only thing is, i'm not sure if the 100 iso or 400 iso is better. I know you said here to use a ND filter but can i not just bring down the aperture to reduce the exposure? i have a light meter app on my phone so i can set up settings for 400 iso and 1/30th shutter speed and from the app it seems like 400 iso works great for indoor lighting which is what i prefer. what do you think, anything wrong with my reasoning here?
