Totally agree on statement "never say never". It's so nice of hazel's sis in-law to ask if they could join. Tbh that blessing in disguise. For me to ever plan a full fam gathering or trip its so hard. With kids its even harder. Not knowing when they might fall sick getting virus from sch which burns leave. With limited leaves and having to consider sch days, individual work culture in leave planning. Its crazy. To the point that i gave up having to wait for all availability to go ahead becuz tats too tough. Im jealous that my sis gets to travel w her kids n her in laws but its so hard for us to plan one since whenever i ask she always cant confirm. Its frustrating. Sometimes i dont uds how she could gather w her friends n all so impromtu but not jio-ing us or mayb at least my parents.
I hope hazel n bro gets on the same wavelength into wanting to try once again to close the gap or mend past wounds. Sometimes u might have tried but mayb the other party was not rdy so it has no effect. I feel hazel- sis in law is a gd person trying to bring the family closer. If hazel is comfortable w her n her niece i think it might not be tat bad with a no. Of distrations/ppl/things to focus on. 😎 ❤ family member who dont get along dont hate each other most of the time. Just needed time to uds each other better to prevent stepping on each other's tail.(;

28:55 Lmao, i am the reverse, I was less interested in the card games (read: gambling) after I grew up, so I do play, but not the whole time anymore. I just enjoy the food and the people.
Anyhow, my family managed to develop a dynamic (thanks to us kids who had enough) where, even if we are arguing, we continue talking. Arguably healthy, because it's simply communicating and the fact that you continue doing so, shows you care enough. Avoiding it only (i.e. kicking the can down the road), doesn't help things and breeds resentment about how (someone didn't listen or gets defensive etc), same goes in relationships.
