Jules, great video! I also collect all the various Hutchinsons, so man series, but some good stuff. I very much enjoyed seeing these and you putting all their history and various imprints in perspective. They are getting very scarce, and dare i say it, rare in fine condition. They just don’t show up any more. Cheers!
That was great . Great collection . Love the blurb on the front . I notice a few had the title on the spine "upside down " . Some intriguing titles .Wheatleys "The Devil Rides Out " great novel and the movie with Christopher Lee was tops .I saw it in my teens , and some parts was scary . I am always amused at the number of publishing houses whose logo is avian 😂 Thank you .And bye .
Brains Trust was a radio programme where a group of experts answered questions from the public. One of the Just William books references them in a story and its title in 1945. Odd how some publisher’s paperbacks rarely surface. I keep a watch for Chevrons and they infrequently show up. It would make sense if publishers continued the number published sequence from previous hardback runs? And presumably other publishers had large paperback print runs like Penguin?
I think to the Hutchinson books just haven't survived like the Penguins. I didn't see one today at the London paperback show. Thanks for the info on the brains trust, had no idea.... Hutchinson numbering is all over the place!
I also collect Toucan Novels. The later ones you show look smaller, is that true? I really like these and have a nice batch of them. Impossible to find these days, especially in dust jacket!
Thanks Gary, there is one Services Edition which is slightly thinner than the rest but else they are standard size👍 I thought I was the only one collecting these🙂
Can I pick your brain? As a newbie, what would be the best British non-fiction vintage paperbacks to start collecting? My budget is about 5 - 10 pounds a week, maybe a tad more. Thanks 👍
I've only been collecting these a few years. I'm still learning about them plus they don't really turn up in great numbers these days. Thanks for the offer though, just drop me an email if you come across any not shown here at julesburt@gmail.com 👍😀 Thanks
Hi, lovely presentation...the last one you showed, the Western by Johnston McCulley, he is the creator of Zorro.
Wow, I never knew that, thanks David, glad you enjoyed this one👍🙂

Thanks Gary. You're right of course, they are getting harder to find, especially in condition but I'm not sure there's many people hunting them👍

Thanks Sylvan! Yes, these were really copycats of Penguin. I too loved that film, a Hammer classic!

Best collect what you enjoy, but fur value, variety and sheer good looks, Pan Books would do you very well. Easy to get starter lots on eBay as well 👍
@JulesBurt Thanks for the quick response. I love science, history, politics, etc. I'll certainly look into your recommendations.
Cheers.
@andy2950 no problem 👍
Hi Jules, very strange seeing you with so many gaps in a series! If any of us do come across any is there a PO Box we can send them to you at?
