Feels like they're built for the long game, I think the key to success will be learning early age defense since their weakness seems to be early game even with dark age samurai
Japan will be extremely strong on water map. Very cheap fishing boat, and Shinobi can disable opponent Dock. I think the shinobi landmark will be used mostly on water map. While the farm landmark will be used on land since you need more food there that you don't need on water.
If you make the storehouse on a treeline or something that restricts the last 2 farms, do you start getting the wood? Or does the store house need to be completely surrounded by farms to get the wood?
If the conversion damage buff from the castle landmark buffs seige, then i could see moving around with a relic-priest to slam a highly defended position.
I'll desperately try to find a way to make Onna Bugeisha work in spite of them being insanely squishy and having no attack bonus (although the extra attack range presumably means more of them can be attacking at once more reliably). I love their concept and voice (Tough Anime Woman). I guess what they're good at is... fighting enemy spearmen? They're fast-moving and ostensibly favored against enemy spearmen and probably crossbowmen, so they're complementary to Mounted Samurai.
@@thesqartenprogram I’ve tried them out a decent amount now and think their damage output is actually really good for the cost as long as you stay on top of damage techs and keep Bannermen with them, and don’t send them against heavy armor unless you outnumber them hard, and don’t send them against Sword Jeanne because she has a ton of armor AND a good aoe. They have very high attack speed and are a swarmably cheap unit with extended attack range that lets a lot of them attack at once… so every point of damage added by buffs or lost vs armor is felt very strongly. (Fortunately heavy armor units are countered by the other badass woman unit Japan has, the Onna Musha). Onna Bugeisha’s matchup with Mangonels is kinda interesting because as a big swarm of squishy units they can get blasted by mango shots, but they’re also a fast moving unit with good damage that can bum-rush mangos well if they aren’t too devastated by the first volley. Archers plus heavy armor units is what’s a pain in the ass for Bugeisha, so Mangonels (to blast the archers) and Onna Musha (to kill off the heavy armor) seem good to pair them with. Mounted Samurai are also good I think. Also Onna Bugeisha’s voice is just amazing.
Great video and much better content then others who provide their "guides" and their version of everything you.need to know. Its better because beasty gives some insights in the things the units can be used to and some tricks.
I'm looking forward to a tournament with new factions, I wonder which of the new factions will be the favorite? How will the pros perform at the tournament?
34:42 how did he select only the speermen? if you klick on that icon the others dont disappear for me and I can't make the control group of just speermen.. thx
I've been playing for less than 2 hours and your way of explaining is perfect thank you
Japanese seems really cool. I hope you upload some of the games you played with the new civs on youtube.
Castle of the crow has a known bug for the caravan that whenever they turn into a boat or vice-versa they lose resources

Damn, this makes me wanna play Shogun 2: Total War again :D
Haha I started playing it again after playing them in aoe4
This civ looks crazy cool. probably going to be one of the most played ones
Thank you for the preview, Beastyqt.
Exactly what I needed, Thanks Beasty!
the 'relic' generating landmark seems super op in ffa

Yeah , and strong samurai units
Reaction at 51:01 was great. From disappointment to excitement :D

Atakebune...Deer and Boar are not structures. That Warship is really cool after you read the tooltip

maybe good at killing villagers? idk honestly kind of disappointed by them a bit.

beasty reaction to the craven was funny 😂😂😂
The bannermen remind me of the indian mehter type units from AOE 3. Very cool concept

Nice video, I wish I could play the DLC
What counters samurai in the feudal age? It says knights lancers and crossbows. But what if your civ can't build any of those in the feudal age?
Ninjas are as stretegic units as SC2 dark templars. Use it wisely.
i really wish they had a unit with a katana and not something thats super limited

Around the time discussing trading caravans you pressed a neutral trade post and it showed a Zhuge-Nu and Elephant, what is that?
Crazy that forge and house only cost 50 wood but the ger for mongols costs 100
Feudal age Dark Templar!
Does the TC aura for improved gathering from farms stack if you have 2 TCs in the area?
Does the TC farm bonus stack if you have 2 TC near the farm ?
thanks you for your guide ...
I thought Tower Elephants with their upgrade were calvary crossbow?
Good video
good video
Finally we got hidden leaf shinobi in AOE 😂
5:28 also English can make MAA in dark age
Everyone knows this lol
English doesn't have spearmen in dark age, so it's still only one unit in dark age.
@@saicharanreddyk Really? I never realized!
@@saicharanreddyk i swear to God I thought they could make both
Can Ozutsu kill walls?
Really cool civ but warrior monk and especially mehter has no identity now
"First civ with two units in barracks in dark age" forgot about the cursed English dark age MAA
English don't get dark age spearmen. So only one barracks unit.
@@richardblabla This just blew my mind. I didn't even know they had no dark age spearmen
What's that map?
34:42 how did he select only the speermen? if you klick on that icon the others dont disappear for me and I can't make the control group of just speermen.. thx
CTRL + Click selects all of one type.
SHIFT + Click deselects that type.
shinobi can blink wall?
Yes
Protoss of AOE4.
