I don't actually play, but have considered collecting and painting a Legion. This series is going to be a great resource for me to decide which one. Thanks!
Pro tip for aspiring Dark Angel Commanders. I personally recommend using the Deathwing Companions as a source of parts for your HQ choices!! And then you customise your own Companions!
interesting Idea. I did kitbash my companions with left over swords and parts of diffrent kits. Well i also kitbashed 10 interemptors with bits of flamers and plasmaguns/ heavy flamers & plasma cannons. as the preator & command squad. i do like the robse from the 40k DWK with a bit work they do fit cataphractii
@@olafwilsing5166 I have an urge to convert my own companions out if mkiii plate! I'd probably use some of the bits from the intempretors. I love their very generic looking chest plate and shoulders!!
as nice as the new MKVI helmets are, I do feel that not making a hounskull-inspired design for a knightly beakie helmet was a bit of a missed opportunity
I'd really like a Primarchs novel for Corswain. Mostly because the Sigismund one shows how you could demonstrate Great Crusade ideals and the rising action. Dark Angels with a Non Order, thus non Fallen based story.
I'm personally impressed with the DA Leviathan Dreadnought design, if GW had released one unique design for each legion (I'm imagining Iron Hands would look good) like they did for the contemptor rather than those tanks and redundant IF models, that might've made a lot of fans happier.
In my experience, which is coming from a heavy set 6'5" viking wannabe, long swords and heavy chest armor is difficult to wield a short handled blade around. I find the longer handled to allow for wider maneuvers to be made with the blade which I like more than the overly realistic short handles. Especially since I'm sure that although they're giant super hu.ans their armor would present new and unique problems that would likely require some longer handles or something. Tho if we're only going off rule of cool then I totally get it realistic swords do look cool, but I also like practical realism
One unit that I would love official models for would be the Firewing Enigmatus Cabal from the Legends units. They shouldn’t be too complicated in theory since they are basically just fancy jump marines with special swords and poison needle pistols
No way, Corswain looks great. And if hes close by to a thunderhawk or stormbird taking off, those chainmail are gonna fly. Marduk is too static however, cant really feel any personality coming from him, like what kind of a guy is he? Corswain immediately gives off Champion vibes while Marduk has the vanilla terninator pose, honestly more suited to a no name centurion than to THE escaton of the first legion. The sword handles are imo a taste thing. You either love or loathe it. I like it simply because it sets them apart from the other legions.
I actually recently purchased and finished painting the dark angels cataphractii praetor, along with the new Exodus model (shame British people don't know what a gun looks like tho) unironically saw him and decided to do a thousand points of Dark Angels because I liked this guy so much.
I don't play 30k but I do use these kits for my 40k Risen Army. The Legion Praetor makes a great fill in for the Bladeguard Captain and the Companions make for very flavorful Bladeguard Vets and parts for characters
Really appreciate the look through, some really nice models in some of these legions I dont even give a second glance because theyre not *my* legion and there's a bit of a frustration with the current release schedule
Hey brother, love the vid! Just wanted to say you were 100% right about the shield on the first Praetor, had so much potential to be a cool item or relic, shame, but the shields on the Deathwing Companions are an upgrade you can take on them, hence the unique design, anyway, can't wait for the World Eaters episode where we agree that it's fucking bullshit they don't have a Praetor yet, keep it up man!
Good video 👍🏻 I agree about Marduk, I gave him an inner circle knight's sword and it looks better. Agree about the inner circle knights too. Where possible I left out as much iconography as I could when assembling mine. I love the Companions. I've a second squad with jump packs and and I've used them for several Consul conversions. Only DA model I'm missing is Corswain but I've a great Kitbash made from an imperial fists praetor made back when he didn't have his own model.
Have to say I really do love the Corswain sculpt personally. Maybe the chain mail in the cloak is fancy dress chain mail from the dressing up box? 🤷🏽♂️😂
I might be tempted to buy 3x sets of the helmets and basically match the same helmets to form a 10 man squad. The differences could be attributed to different wings perhaps. Then I could get a whole squad of King Arthurs for free... hehe
Those inner circle knights are not too bad in person ..the blades are a bit thick though ....the main issue with them is that they can pretty much only be made in one pose ... Their heads are pre sculpted into their bodies ..
I have to say, the MK VI helmets seem almost identical to the Imperial Fists MK VI helmets (which you didn't like but you like these ones). Is there some difference I'm missing other than subtle iconography?
Yeah..there really is nothing bad to say about the 30k lion primarch model... Only primarch models I like less than all the others are the Corax and lemun Russ ones ..over extension and rotation of the body or a landing pose ..
$68 for that terminator dude...lol. If it was $13 it would be ok. Yeah it would still be expensive for what it is, but I could make an argument for it. $68 though. It's so bad.
It's a great range and I mostly agree with your opinions. Hard disagree on the DA dreadnought though and all due to one thing, the candles. That shit smacks the model straight into the grimderp of 40k and I'm quite surprised you'd be keen on that aesthetic. The Knights cenobium are lovely as well but suffer a little with the grimderp, though it's less one glaring issue and more down to being covered in tat and accessories like an 80s era Madonna (and Valdor xD). The Leviathan though is a work of art and as such, it is likely doomed to vanish from the range sooner than later.
Started 30k when I watched your OG series, happy see the newest series. Hoping for some more 3d printing content around HH also.
There is so much on Cults3d bro it’s amazing
I would love to see some of his favorite files printed.
I don't actually play, but have considered collecting and painting a Legion. This series is going to be a great resource for me to decide which one. Thanks!
Same, im actually building a Dark Angels Legion, but has no intention of playing

3d printing covers this insanely well. Especially if you consider kitbashing your own ICs and squad leaders.
as nice as the new MKVI helmets are, I do feel that not making a hounskull-inspired design for a knightly beakie helmet was a bit of a missed opportunity
Whats the point of MKVI if one does not use beak helmets? Might aswell just use Mk III or IV
Great to see this kind of content. Your consumer advocacy videos are great, but gotta love more hobby content!
I've always loved the dark angels range, both 30k and 40k. If only the Dark Angels Heresy novels were as good as their miniatures...
Indeed. Great minis... Dogwater novels
I'd really like a Primarchs novel for Corswain. Mostly because the Sigismund one shows how you could demonstrate Great Crusade ideals and the rising action. Dark Angels with a Non Order, thus non Fallen based story.
I like this kind of content as well! Excited to see more!
The new music keeps throwing me off. Its amazing how attached I got to the old intro.
A nice direction for Content

I watched the old one of these reviews so many times :) Glad they are back

Why do I like the video so much when they talk about what miniatures are on sale? I can see it myself, but I love it.
This my personal wish I really want legion special units from each wing will that happen maybe after the millionth imperial fist/ son of horus release
I am a fan of Dreadwing, but I hope other wings will get stuff in the future as well. Until then I kitbash

@@ShadowGhost0117 and it would make sense for gws mk 6 craze cause firewing loved the mk 6 armour

fantastic video! looking forward to your future videos.

I've used the Dark Angels head upgrade for my 40k custom Chapter Space Marines for Sergeant Models and other characters

Can’t wait til you get to the imperial fists section will be a 5 hour long extravaganza
I like the big cross guard, great for trapping and disarming, maybe the guard needs power field coverage.

I also reduced the number of colours on him to tone down his business which helped
The sword was the dumbest bit for Marduk just becomes a soft club with a powerfield

Deathwing companions have great conversion potential
how did you manage to magnetize the scabards on the Lion? that was the only thing I did not do.
Yeah, some contemptors works better as just the torsos than others but it was really awful how they replaced the full resin ones.
Wonder If the interemptors were supposed to be a upgrade kit?
I dont hate the Cenobium but theyre for sure the weakest stuff in the DA range.
Corswains sword is like when Darth Mauls lightsaber is activated on one side only.
Also, I think the Cenobium look significantly better when the paint job is more muted.
My only problem with the Lion is his leg pose. I think it neither sells him charging or bracing before cutting the Night Lord.
Mi esposa se amora tu videos!!
I have to say, the MK VI helmets seem almost identical to the Imperial Fists MK VI helmets (which you didn't like but you like these ones). Is there some difference I'm missing other than subtle iconography?
The Legion Praetor is a nice model but it's so small, I have it but haven't built it.
It’s cuz he’s Luther ;)
So this is going to be done for all the legions ?
Yeah..there really is nothing bad to say about the 30k lion primarch model... Only primarch models I like less than all the others are the Corax and lemun Russ ones ..over extension and rotation of the body or a landing pose ..
Can’t wait for iron warriors soon, it’s either going to be 5 minutes long or an hour of complaining how little there is
Yay, nice and early
Comments for the algorithm

$68 though. It's so bad.
I kinda hate that the special characters didn't get a cool base like kharn the bloody, sevatar, etc which they did back in the day
I feel that. I wish Remus Ventanus had a scenic base with him planting the standard into a dead world bearer.

My Boys
Bad models with great rules.
After seeing all those model prices, I'm good. 3d printer go brrr
Waited 10 years for rules
Superseded within 12 months
