What Lucius suffers from is how his lore and rules limit his use if you want authentically recreate him. His armour gets completely changed to have carved screaming faces on it post Istvann V which leaves you with the Istvann iii and V. But he's traitor locked to you can't have him alongside Saul or use the loyalist rites of war to represent his months fighting with the loyalists. When it comes to his model representing that short period his sword is described with a far longer handle and he wouldn't lose his hair until later post Lydris. It would have been nice to have an alternative hand to swap out the laer blade as he can't have it if you field Fulgrim with it. But overall it's a decent model.
Lucius has to die first before his armour starts to mutate and so on, which happens post lydris (mid heresy) By the Seige of Terra he may have died a couple time, or he may have not died even once, so you can use this version without too much of an issue. But I get and agree with your point, he's fallen into this hole in the story telling where this has been forgotten and now we simply don't know.
@@tomdamoose2461 His description pre-Iydiris gives him screaming armour and his first death outside of Sharrowkyn is still cited as of the 9E codex as Lord Commander Cyrius which is post-Heresy. His resurrection in Angel Exterminatus has also come into question as a recent short story cites Fabius as the reason for it instead of it being a spontaneous act that occurs. ''His luxuriantly painted war plate had been recoloured in a manner more pleasing to the eye, its drab hues and pedestrian ornamentation exaggerated and embellished in a manner more appropriate to a warrior of his skill and standing. His hair was lacquered black and his lips full, giving him a smile that would have been arrogant had his skill been any less.'' ''Lucius had only recently begun to ornament his armour, its plates strikingly adorned with madly screaming faces stretched beyond all recognition. The inner face of each shoulder guard was notched with jagged metal teeth that pricked and scored his flesh with every movement of his arms.'' -Reflection Crack'd ''Yet finally he met his match, during one of the many gladatorial contests held by Fulgrim in the intervals between atrocities, and was slain by one of the primarchs favoured Lord Commanders, Cyrius.''- CSM 9E Eidolon picked at the scab which had formed from his chest wound and allowed the blood to flow and coagulate once more. ‘Lucius was slain by a loyalist, was he not? 19:07 I slapped Eidolon's helmet on an Assault marine sergeant and now I call him "Little E". "E" for Eidolon. Quite possibly my favourite model in the army at the moment.
Palatine blades are absolutely beautiful, used them to kitbashmy dawnbreakers back when the they didn't have models. I wish I could get a truescale version of them.
I do really love the normal praetor, always been interested in an istavaan themed emperors children army and he would be a nice HQ alongside saul tarvitz me thinks. Although i will admit I would swap heads, possibly weapons and definitely try and do something with the legs. solid 7.5/10 model, not perfect but still dope af. nice video as always!
@10:00 the real problem is the lazyness of 3D sculptor. The tabard is just rotated at 45 degree like if it was a piece of metal or wood. It doesn't feel organic like the hand sculpt. In the end the left border lenght is twice the lenght of the right one.
The terminator praetor actually makes a really good conversion piece for other legions, like blood angels and ultramarines. It just doesn't stand up to the perfection that is the phoenix blades
The Artificer Armour Praetor feels off, I think, because of his pose. It's pretty static. And his gut looks a bit too large. The chunky cape also doesn't help.
Something a bit more subtle, but that I can't unsee: the difference in the paintjob. I personally love the old FW painting style, the more gritty, dirty and for lack of a better term grimdark. On the other hand, the 'eavy metal style paintjob, especially on the terminator preator, push the models more in the direction of a comic figur. Also I really dislike the eagle chestpiece of the termi praetor, but that could be just the paintjob - it loosk somehow ridiculously big and flat ... Emperors Children should be stylish but elegant and filigrene, not big slabs of gold on candy-purple
The praetors Phoenix spear look like a crozius someone has put a ork knife on. Something I really like tho is how with the helmet you could use it as a Great Crusade/Loyalist marine. But with the unhelmeted head you can make it look so obviously corrupt.
The way there shaped luvcius's stomach area makes it look as if there is no armour there ...just a gap of bare stomach ..why ..it's so slender and out of place compared to the rest of the model ..straps wouldve been much better over the regular stomach pipes/armour ..would provide the same storyline with out the harsh shape
Mr. Circle pronounces the Kakophoni. Every Greek that watches this video: Dies of cringe. Btw, it should be written Kakofonoi. If GW wants to use Greek words for the models the least they can do it write them as correctly as possible.
Think you guys are going to love reviewing the new corrupt emperors children rules. I've seen some of the early access reviews and it reeks of someone letting timmy the intern out of his cage
Absolutely love the new opening theme, reminds me of the old fantasy films like Conan.
Yup, agree. Love it.
That's because it's from Conan the Barbarian

If the Sons of Horus can get away with Little Horus you can get away with Little Eidolon!
When it comes to Saul’s sword, that’s a very real style of sword, weird guard that might get in the way included.
You’ve convinced me to purchase some Phoenix Terminators for my Alpha Legion.
Thanks.

nice video as always!
I own the New Praetors, and they're good.
i think using blood angels upgrade heads are palatine blades are 2 sets of head you can use for EC which will look awesome
Cadbury's exists in the UK. But I don't remember seeing it in America when I was living with my Ex for 6 months.
When you finish the Lion and Khan you’ve gotta do a video showing us all those primarchs
Helmets are smart to wear in combat and yeah i hate painting faces.
I really enjoy the new series you started. Also I like the new intro. All in all I like your content.

Cadbury's chocolate are quite popular in Canada. Caramilk is a staple.
These would have to be some of the oldest in the range I remember them coming out rather early
Fulgrim's pose is so stupid. It looks like he just spotted a mouse on the floor.
"favourable exchange rate" love it
GW's decision on the contemptors is one of the most f-u they have pulled
BTW anyone read the recent HH rumors that the upcoming campaign book will be dealing with the siege of Terra??
I agree with the head on the praetor
Phoenix Termies are the best looking Tartaros no contest.

Can't wait for the minute long Iron Warriors video taha ; )
If it aint green, it aint good.
The terminator praetor head reminds me of Griffith from berserk
Not enough to be Griffith, enough to be the beetle captain
Early Heresy is the best Heresy
I love the original helmets but I totally agree that for this specific legion theyre far to uniform.

I do like the Terminator Praetor helmet. But yeah its very hard to follow up the near Perfection of the Phoenix Terminators.
Its funny how spartan Lucius looks in contrast to Saul.
Im not a fan of Fulgrims head. If it wasnt for that I think Id like it.
Can't wait for legions like Iron Warriors or World Eaters and others that get shit for ICs and the video will be a 5 minute review of 3 models lol :P
