And I recall Kristen had been sick with food poisoning, too; she mentioned it on the audio commentary. Respect to her for burning up with a fever while needing to be dressed in winter clothes, probably sweating like crazy.
She was sick, but not with food poisoning and not during the first filming of this scene which is when the other commenter was talking about. Kristen had the flu during a reshoot for this scene. The final cut that we see here is pieces from both shoots put together.

As much as I pan both the books and the movies for a lot of cringe moments; this was actually a very good scene. Edward showed the maturity that immortality has given him by out right admitting that if Bella chose Jacob; then he would let her go. While Jacob had so much discontent and hatred for him; he just calmly explained the entire situation and how he would rather let Bella live a long human life rather than turn her into a Vampire.

Then she also kissed him, completely forgetting that she was upset, starting also realising, that she's in love with him. That was so psycho and stupid in book, but surprised.

To be honest, in book Jacob literally was a jerk. When he made Bella kiss him, in book he was pushing her strongly to him, even if it hurt her with quote ,,you can do better". She was upset and angry, so she grabbed his hair to make him pain, but he understand that in horny, romantically way so he kissed her again. Then she also kissed him, completely forgetting that she was upset, starting also realising, that she's in love with him. That was so psycho and stupid in book, but surprised.
With that storyline, I think I like the book better

Another great scene. I'm telling ya. Just look passed all the dirt, and you'll find some hidden gems. There's a lot of likeable things in these movies. I think even the acting is slightly better and so is the writing in this scene alone.
