Nope always from the original creators site and I decline all options. I go through the “next, next, next’’ procedure really slowly because in one of the next boxes it will have “make bing default search engine” and or install something you don’t need. It even happens in the original creators websites. Just take your time throughout the installation process in each section of the installation ✌️
Good Rant - Worthwhile obviously! I always try to check the source of any software downloaded and 'hover' over links to 'check' source, but it is getting more difficult to be 'sure'. I've started using Linux on some of my laptops.
In Daily life, I use 3rd party programs for various reasons, often got malwares behind. I checked out those on antivirus to perform scan with huge risky attempts, unfortunately detected a bunch of phishing trojans from outside of some websites harmful in a daily basis. So I enabled the virtualization technology to do suspicious softwares which is downloadable I switched of windows sandbox to avoid malwares. This is amazingly helpful easier to do suspicious softwares kicked off to sandbox. I do prefer to download a software authentic one. Brian, When I see your videos, I learn appropriate steps and proceedings based on your taught. Amazing!
Timing is everything. My systems are Linux, but I maintain one physical Windows box, just in case . I just logged into it and had to install CrystalDiskInfo (I've a broken external SSD using vfat, so I thought I'd give it one last look under Windows before I yeet it) - I saw and avoided everything that you have just described. I don't know when, but some crufty applications have managed to accumulate anyway, presumably from an installation in the past when I was lazy/in a hurry. I hope that people heed your advice.
Very nice video on here, with nice tips here. Stop downloading programs from these dodgy sites here where you might get infected here with malware here.
A good way to prevent your computer from hacks and scam attacks is not to open those strange programs and remove them into the "deleted" or "scam" folder. It is like the times when I disconnect the telephone from taking calls from automatic calls that offer Medicare (in the United States) or for goods and services that I did not call for in the beginning. Simply ignore those software offers that are unfamiliar to you. Thank you, Britec.
Mediafire is legit depending on what you downloading, a lot of people use it to download mods for games etc but I guess it can be exploited to for software
1:45 🤬SOFTONIC never again ! 🤬 Got me maybe 10 years ago (give or take) via a link from a CNET TYPE website . I can't remember what the application was that I installed, except it was an application that I had heard of often & should have been simple . Prior to installing this application I had never heard of SOFTONIC. A few days into using the application I saw it was using too much system resources for the simple function it was supposed to perform. I uninstalled it, ran a thorough file cleaner (including registry cleaner), disk cleanup & thought I was good to go . . . until one day I was looking for a file with the SEARCH function and started seeing files that were in numerous folders that seemed related to the application I uninstalled. I checked the properties on all of them and confirmed that the application had left a Rat's Nest behind. I also kept seeing the name SOFTONIC in those properties. Then I ran a SEARCH on my C Drive for SOFTONIC & was amazed at the number of scattered folders & files that it left behind. SOFTONIC left behind a trail of files doing who knows what on my system. I refer to that trickery as Rat's Nests & Rat Droppings.
I stopped using CNet when their download was a small install program that would link to the actual software download/installer. They would also try to install other software or change your search engine.
i got done by them hackers before.. i ended up with 8 videos uploaded to my channel without my knowledge and that got me a strike... my bad for trying to get free stuff..... great video...
Another one is if you do download some software, a lot of people just click 'Next' to continue, then they might get the software but also get 3 or more other things installed they don't want like another task bar that takes up more room on your desktop and it annoys you no end, then you have to try and delete it if you can that is. Then they might hide a trojan fake ani-virus that pops up telling you it just scanned your PC anf found XXXX malicious files, to get rid of it use this softwatware, it finds the virus but to delete it you need to pay for a full version of this so called ant-virus. Years ago I was a victim of one of these, I was new to PC's then and luckily I told a guy at work who knew his stuff and he got rid of it for me. So going back to what I first sad if you do download anything slowdown and read everything before clicking 'Next' to continue.
the interesting part is that somehow the pirating community will defend sketchy stuff from "reputable uploaders" i mean all in the name of free stuff i guess... cant trust anyone on the internet forreal. just like mama told you not to take candy from a stranger really.
20 minutes of stating the same thing repeatedly. I kept waiting for a tid bit on using WinGet, Chocholatey, etc... as being better or the as bad. Alas, nothing that useful.
Do you download from this sites? let me know in comments section.
Not for a very long time - 🤣🤣🤣👍
yes i download from cracked software cuz i get paid 60dollar in the month

@Brandon Taylor I totally forgot about tucows , I used to use Majorgeeks
Yes, in the 90's 😂😂
Yes, RUclips needs to be reprogrammed. People are being demonetized and/or suspended for minor infractions compared to these illegal sites.

Excellent and very informative video, people should take note!

Excellent advice for the less savy amongst us, keep up the good work...
So where do we download cracked software from

Some people say there's nothing on my pc, why should I worry about it.
🏆🤗🙏🇺🇸
Thank you for sharing
You're welcome
I have two words for you 'Money Talks" I think that explains everything
oh yes, make this public....
RUclips needs to do something
I use Ninite. It’s free, lots of free software, and it saves so much time. AFAIK no tricks at all.
I love Ninite.
for ads i just use an ad blocker at my dns level
late 90s to mid-2000, sites like these are my go to... No wonder I reinstall my OS like every 3 to 6 months
thanks for the info
About a month ago I started to download a file from FileHippo and Kaspersky stopped it. It had a trojan. Stay away from these sites
when your sponsor may be an example
They should use the worst punishments from ancient history on the owners of these websites.
is getintopc safe ?
Wasn't this video taken down?
Only 3 alternatives for me, Ninite, PatchMyPc and the official developer website.
Ruckzuck is another one similar to patchmypc. Take a look and you see.
@@Juliodax I didn't know about that One, gonna check right now!

I sic my cyber dogs on these sites. You to can have cyber dogs just by downloading them from the website. Ignore the 40k ads for other things.
Is it really that bad?
Yes
Yes, very bad
after watching your video I will not go to that website
RUclipsrs need to stop telling people what to do like this!!!!!
I only use apkmirror on my androids phones as I don't use windows often
20 minutes of stating the same thing repeatedly. I kept waiting for a tid bit on using WinGet, Chocholatey, etc... as being better or the as bad. Alas, nothing that useful.
so you put it on 2X and it is shorter than 20 min.
@@markae0 I use 1.5x but yes that helps. Still, it is a 20 min video of content that didn’t state anything other than what not to do over and over…
Winget, for me.
got my Windows pro code from there
These are the sites that brick PC's!!!!!!
been there downloading one of these sites
They have been around for a long time
I only download web browsers
make sense
i use ninite 8)
Don't forget about Russia, China and North Korea.
Sinophobe and zenophobe 💀
