Experiencing a local custom by the MAGDARAME PENITENTS (Angeles City, Philippines) during Holy Week as they subject themselves to crucifixion including nailing (hands and feet) to the cross in observance of Good Friday re-enacting Jesus Christ's suffering and death. The penitents subject themselves to this bodily sacrifice as a personal atonement for sins or to express gratitude for favors received. In this video, I show the raising of the three crosses by Roman guards with penitents securely fastened, the subsequent nailing of their hands and feet, while Mother Mary, her sister, and Mary Magdalene watch at the foot of the crosses surrounded by a large crowd of Filipinos and foreigners watching the re-enactment.

Pretty intense. Praise our Savior for His sacrifice and the work He did on the cross for us. “It is finished.” Hallelujah! ✝️💕
