    Nice instructions. For my future Edge 8, want that too for planetary and small galaxies. By the way, what kind of cable is needed for the ring to the asiair plus? There is a power output setting in the asiair plus where you an select how much power the AA+ have to give to the dew heater in %.

    • @AstroCrescent
      @AstroCrescent  Год назад +1

      Thank you! You need a normal 12v DC power cable (5.5mm/2.1mm)for the ring. This is same as the power cable for other devices such as cooled camera or ASIAIR itself. Reg, power output setting in ASIAIR, it will check it out. CS!

    Good information~ Can I ask question? Can I only use car battery cigar cable ? If It supply the continuous 12V power, occur some problem? Example, front glass break because of continuous heating? I dont know. Please, reply. Thanks.

      Thanks for watching! I’m glad you liked the video. There no problem in using the car cigarette lighter adapter cable. The scope glass (lens) doesn’t break due to limited heat produced by the dew heater ring. Cheers!!

    Great video! How are you connecting the ASI AIR Plus onto the SCT? What kind of dovetail mount is that?

    • @AstroCrescent
      @AstroCrescent  10 месяцев назад

      Hello Seemanta, Thanks for watching. I'm glad that the video was helpful. For mounting ASIAIR on top of your SCR, you may buy a general universal finder scope base from Amazon. Remove the factory finder scope from the SCT, install the new finder scope base on the same screw holes and then mount the ASIAIR in the finder scope base. Hope this helps. Cheers!!

    Hi Pawan. Thanks for the great videos on the Celestron Edge HD 8! I should be getting mine in a few days and I feel much more prepared to get it ready after watching your excellent tutorials. Just a question about the dew heater ring. I noticed there is a cord in the box that you didn't use. Can you tell me what kind of connectors that cable has at both ends? I have a Kendrick 4-port power controller I currently use that accepts RCA-type plugs from my dew heater bands and I wasn't sure if the cord that comes with the Celestron dew heater ring will interface with the cord from the dew heater ring and my Kendrick controller. I'd like to know so I can order an appropriate cable before the scope and dew heater ring get here. Thanks again for all the wonderful videos! Very helpful.

    • @AstroCrescent
      @AstroCrescent  Год назад

      Thanks! I'm glad that these videos are helpful. Hope you have received your EdgeHD 8 by now. The power cable in the box has RCA type connector on one end and a simple female pin connector on the other side. The manual for this dew heater ring states that this cable is used only if you have Celestron smart dew heater controller. I'm not sure if this cable works with Kendrick controller. You might want to check the Kendrick manual or consult some forums like cloudynights.com. Cheers!

      @@AstroCrescent Thanks so much for the detailed information, Pawan! I really appreciate it. I don't have my EdgeHD 8 yet, but I did receive the dew heater ring today. In looking at the instructions on page 4, it says the dew heater rings are generally compatible with third party dew heater controllers, and says, "Use the included extension cable to connect the dew heater's rings power jack to the controller's heater output port." So, I think it will be okay! Thank you again. Very kind of you to follow up and reply.

    Excellent tutorial. Thank you. How does the dewshield sit on it? Doesn't the cables obstruct? Do you have a video for securing the dewshield along with this ring?

      Also is the dewshield needed in addition to this ring?

    • @AstroCrescent
      @AstroCrescent  Год назад +1

      Thanks for watching. The dew shield fits nicely on the EdgeHD 8. It provides protection from unwanted stray light from surroundings. The power cable does not obstruct securing of the dew shield to the tube.
