For MS, I think it’s likely they want to get ahead of policies from an incoming Trump administration who has campaigned on ending DEI.
For a lot of other companies they do have fiscal responsibilities to investors. But the legality gets more murky when large investment groups who push DEI have a controlling share of the vote within the corp.

I think it's absolutely HILARIOUS how they say that DEI is "no longer smart", as if it ever WAS. They really can't admit when they make a mistake, can they? The egos on these people....
It was smart because they received loads of money from Black Rock etc. However now the money isn't there anymore or not as easy to obtain. Since the games aren't profitable and they've blown their load from BR, they are cutting corners until the next big thing takes over which is BRIDGE.
I do hope this BRIDGE flops from the start. Seems it's been a work in progress for a while, and is now slowly creeping into a lot of companies. If we can continue playing the game of vote with your wallet, eventually it will have to come to a full stop. This is of course just what I think.

Not all Americans are like that. As an American myself, while I don't hold any hard feelings towards your family and I even understand where they're coming from, they are wrong. Those like Ash make up the very loud but very small minority. Like maybe at best 4% of Americans. Majority of Americans are not like that.
Matter of fact, a lot of these people are not just Americans. Some are Canadians. SBI is located in Canada, so just be aware. But yeah, Ash is definitely a silver spooned privileged brat. She does not represent the majority of America.

The change is so good to see, I was honestly filled with despair seeing the constant echo chamber the internet was in. I’m so excited for nuance to return to discussion. Thanks to you Endymion, people like you spreading the message is the only thing that keeps me in the loop on this crazy stuff.
It started with tolerance, which extended into the misconception that tolerance meant acceptance. You tolerate things you do not like, you accept things you do like.
The assumption that gamers tolerated the DEI agenda meant they accepted it has led us here; people have reached their limits of tolerance and are now proceeding to the next phase, which is to reject.
I am in it for the long game. I think the DEI office at microsoft is either undergoing an acronym change, is being outsourced, or is being directly integrated into their individual teams. I'm pretty confident that the DEI office was not the only part of the company filled with insane ideologues.
If these companies want my money, then all they need to do is start producing good games again. They spent the better half of a decade loosing my trust, and I suspect it will take at least as long to regain it. Similarly with Sony; until they shutter their entire CA office I will not purchase their products.

I think we’re going to start seeing more of the the East dominate the west. They are taking advantage of the woke void. Look at games like first descendent. Look at those characters. Then compare it to concord. Which live service do you think is going to do better? People need to stop denying the fact that things like aesthetics, themes, colors, character faces, and so on don’t matter. They so do. It’s what catches your attention to wanna try a game in the first place. Do you know why so many people are trying first descendants? It’s because of those characters. Then they find out it’s actually fun. But if those characters look like western woke characters, no one would want to try it in the first place. So where these things matter is that initial appeal. How can you expect somebody to try your game when the cover itself is unappealing? Do you know why they say don’t judge a book by its cover? Because we do.

Seriously, who played Hades and cared it was queer from start to finish? It was baked into the story and made sense. Same with diversity. There have been divert smash hits in the past decade - think Moana or Encanto.

I also see more ppl turning to Christ which I LOVE as a Moroccan American Christian man. Ppl are seeing the degeneracy, immorality of the highest degree, the effects of extreme progressive ideologies, & it’s making people look to something with good & hope. Often times, it takes something extreme to shake ppl out of apathy & seeing younger men becoming more conservative than ever is fantastic.
People who are attuned can feel that this goes much deeper than the surface of things. Darkness and Light. There’s a reason our heroes are being destroyed, why moral relativism is being pushed so hard. People feel it in their bones and souls and know that something is very wrong. It is…anti-spirit.

The tide is shifting. I'd be ecstatic over that... if it weren't taking the form of cancel culture simply swinging the opposite way. I don't relish the idea of far right wingers running rampant in media any more than I did the far left.
Different content creators are taking a different tack on this, some quite sensibly are happy at the prospect of undoing the damage the left have done these past years, at returning to a more moderate status quo. But others are showing their true colours as they smugly fantasise not over media returning to being the free and open platform it should be, but over the notion that the shoe is going to be on the other foot, they relish the idea that they are going to get their turn to be the big bully treading on the other side. That worries me.
The Parrish person is one big liar, and given their ability to read, analyze, and understand a situation makes them a terrible "journalist".

I definitely wasn't blind to this stuff, it's hard to pull any wool over my eyes. But after seeing how quickly and ferociously I was being jumped on, not with valid points or reason/logic but insults and empty threats of losing my job and the like I got tired of trying... I'll admit I did have the odd defender and I appreciate(d) them but they were few and far between at the time. I deleted all social media except youtube. Nice to see more and more people aren't defending this crap with tooth and nail anymore.
The problem is it may appear these companies are firing DEI agents. However, they're rebranding it to Bridge.
Here's a tip for people like Jack and his group, follow the advice your parents should teach you, if you have nothing nice to say, don't say anything at all, if you would've kept silent on it due to how big of a thing it was, you would've had no issue.

It's truly worrying that such people are in positions of responsibility. What toxic work environments they must create. Adult toddlers having tantrums are not what society needs.
