    8yr old son loves it. Easy to ride in the snow. He was able to on the hills behind our house the first time he tried. The way the bindings work are very easy for kids.

    I need help with rotation. For example, when doing a nose roll, my body doesn’t rotate with my feet and I end up counter-rotated. I’ve been trying to do butter spins, but it just ends up in a 180 because I don’t have momentum. I have tried winding up, but still end up counter-rotated. I can flat spin all day, no problems in either way. Very fast and smooth many times in a row. I cannot lean to one side and rotate around like you do.

      1 year later but this might be helpful. Try focusing on your head and realize where you are looking. When you rotate your head the body tends to follow and it helps a lot with spins :)

      @@tomasfojt3381 so does that technique also apply to “landing blind”? A friend of mine suggested that I work on doing Ollie 180’s landing blind to work though the issue.

    Does it help having a park board or a more flexible board? I’ve been boarding my whole life with stiff all mountain boards and haven’t ever tried a flex bord

    • @kaimcguire5086
      @kaimcguire5086 3 года назад +9

      I rode my friend’s park board the other day and it was way easier to butter. It was fun but not worth the loss of stability at high speeds IMO.

    • @raoulduke7087
      @raoulduke7087 2 года назад

      I’m the exact opposite. I’ve always had really extreme rockers with lots of flex and could buffer for days. I decided to get an all mountain freestyle this year because big jumps were way too sketchy on it. I was trying to butter like I used to and ate shit hard. Much more effort and your form needs to be spot on

    • @Nick-eu5lr
      @Nick-eu5lr 2 года назад +2

      Pretty late to the party but I would say get camber all mountain board where you can have fun everywhere. When you want to be playful with it you're gonna figure it out.
      But if you have a floppy banana underneath your feet everyday just to have some easy butters you're gonna miss out a lot.
      Ps: Rockers are for people who can't control their edges

    • @sadkingbilly
      @sadkingbilly 2 года назад

      I got a second hand, very flexible board to have fun with on days with low view or lots of snow. My freeride board is way too stiff as well.

      @@raoulduke7087 my worst fall of the season was a harmless little spin and nose butter gone bad on my super stiff full camber bomber so yeah, not feeling that so much on that board anymore lol

    How tall are you and what size is your board? I'm 5'6" and I ride a Rome Gangplank 152 .. you seem around 5'6" - 5'8" but your board looks smaller than mine like a 146 or 148 ... I can butter goofy but not regular even though I ride regular. That spinning butter looks pretty cool tho .. I just wish the resorts owned by Vail weren't all closed otherwise I'd be watching this on the mountain rn 😂

  • @raymae9051

    I’m having a hard time with the 360 rotation. I don’t seem to ever get enough rotation. I can flat spin super fast either direction all day, but I can barely get enough rotation for a 180, let alone a 360. I even tried an exercise where I am still on flat ground, and wind up in a press to rotate it around, and I cannot do it. Can you go more into detail on this?

    I'm worried my board is too long (and possibly need more rocker?) to maneuver in these types of tricks for my height / size but I like the stability of the longer board... thoughts? It is a Burton Process Flying V (from a few years back) - 162 cm and I am 5'7" .

    • @timfranks3570
      @timfranks3570 2 года назад +2

      That's super big for your size. I'm 6'2'' 190 lbs, ride the same sized board (163 cm) and feel like I could even size down, especially for butter tricks.

    • @sadkingbilly
      @sadkingbilly 2 года назад

      That’s crazy long. Anywhere between chin and nose should be long enough, if you want stability get a freeride board for speed days..

  • @ryanward5770
    @ryanward5770 2 года назад

    Needing a little bit of assistance, I've been boarding for a very long time and never really experiencing switch or any of that kind of riding. I'm used to riding double blacks on my main side but I really want to get better at switch and riding in-between. What is the is best way to encourage riding slower terrain? Im used to riding difficult stuff but i also really want to improve my skills at the same time, but I still enjoying it as much as I used too. I want to get good at riding switch in difficult
    Terrain, and so I can take advantage of switch Instead of it being a disadvantage. I also want to learn a few tricks on Hill so that I can use them on powder days. What are your best recommendations?

      find a beginner/intermediate friend (blue runs maybe) and only ride switch when with him/her!
      I spent a morning on the bunny slopes teaching my friend on her first day on a snowboard, and at the end of the day I was way better at skating because of that!

      Really depends on how long the board is also. If you're 6' with a 155 with an 8/10 flex rating it will be a lot easier to butter than a 165 with the same flex rating.
