  • The capital city of Belize, Belmopan - Not what I expected to see
    Though Belize City is bigger, Belmopan is the capital city of Belize. And in this video I take you on a drive through tour of Belmopan in Belize. My name is Mickey....Keep Watching!!!
    Located near the town of Roaring Creek 50 miles inland from Belize City, Belmopan the capital city of Belize. Though slightly smaller than Belize City and only the third largest city of Belize, Belmopan was made the capital city of Belize when hurricane Hattie and an associated tided wave did extensive damage to Belize City in 1961. It is now considered the seat of the government housing the National Assembly of Belize, the office of the National Emergency Management Organization and majority, if not all, embassies and consulates.
    Every country has a story; so does its people. I get to travel and visit different parts of the world due to the nature of my work, so I take viewers with me in the form of vlogs to explore and tell beautiful stories of the people and the places that I am working.
    I am dedicated to provide deep, meaningful and entertaining contents for you, my viewers....
    So enjoy!!!

    Belmopan is mostly safe, quiet, and doesn’t flood so bad. Immigration office is there and you can get all business needs done. I love to swim at El Rancho. Tacos Don Carlos has great tacos. There’s great Chinese fried chicken. There’s a few bars/clubs that are fun. There’s a nice night market. A nice produce store with set prices. The buses run frequently. You definitely have to find the fun because it’s a city of mature people 😂 My Mom says sometimes you can hear a pen drop. The people are more reserved but super nice. Very good people. I love Belmopan for the reasons stated above but for fun I love Caye Caulker and San Ignacio.

    From looking at many of your videos, you have gotten a wide view of all the different areas so can you tell me from your experience... I am from the Caribbean and I am planning a trip to belize for 2 weeks and want to know if you can give me 5 areas you think I should visit, what would it be... Keep in mind, I'm 55 years old and married with no children, but I love the beach and I love to grow fruits and vegetables and would like to raise some chickens... I know in 2 weeks I cant see everything to make a good decision but I don't want waste time while researching... Your feedback is appreciated... and anyone else feedback as well

    • @MickeyAgyei
      @MickeyAgyei  Год назад

      Before I answer your question, can I please ask if the 2 weeks visit is to help you make decisions on which place to settle in Belize long term? As I don't think you will be able to plant vegetables and raise chicken in that 2 weeks.

    • @vironnie
      @vironnie Год назад

      @@MickeyAgyei Well the 2 weeks is just a visit so I can educate myself on the different areas to help on deciding where I might want to live for the first year possibly, then over the first year I'm hoping to make a decision on where I will plant my roots and stay... the idea of growing food and raising chickens is the long term goal...

      @@vironnie Nice!!
      Hopkins is a chilled out village with beautiful beaches. Loads of beach resorts and hotels. Hopkins is beginning to attract tourist interest which isn't the cup of tea of a selected few. Its closed to jungle adventures like cave tubing, ziplining and waterfalls. The selling point of Hopkins for me is its proximity to Placencia (another beach village) and Dangriga (the cultural capital of Belize).
      Placencia: solely for the beach and its proximity to Hopkins and Dangriga. Placencia is a typical tourist village with beautiful beaches and resorts. I believe they have lobsterfest and other occasions.
      Caye Caulker: It is a chilled out island where you can even get around with bikes. Its amazing for a holiday but I wonder if one will run out of fun options after a long period of residence. 30 mins on the ferry and you are in San Pedro; a bigger and busier sister island, 45mins and you are in Belize city.
      San Pedro: A bigger and busier version of Caye Caulker. 30 mins from Caye Caulker and and hour and half from Belize city. Big with tourists and a lot to do on the island. Will be a dream to live. However, you will require a golf kart to get around.
      San Ignacio: Melting pot of culture. Just cos it's the home of Mayan ruins and jungle adventures. The famous La ruta Maya Belize river challenge starts there...and it's a ball.
      Bonus: Please check Punta Gorda, the only place I couldn't visit as my car broke down on each attempt. Maybe it was a gem I couldn't unearth.
      I hope my recommendations will be helpful 🙏🏾
