You will not get permanente residence for many year?
I am considering moving to Belize but want a place away from the cities with 5 acres where I can raise chickens rabbits turkeys and have a huge garden kind of a hobby farm.

For a family $100 per person per month can get expensive. You can apply for permanent residency as a tourist at $100 per month after a year? Do you really need all the documents for permanent residency after one year and have them apostilled? What income tax statement do they need? Can the tourist for a year open a bank account and have other legal status?

My question is... Is Belize a good place for a single parent?
Good question, I think it really depends on what your priorities are as a parent in my opinion. I think that it is a much simpler pace of life and a lot of this kids can really connect with the nature of the island as opposed to an ipad. There definitely are other challenges but overall I think my answer to that would be yes
So the QRP is more expensive than $1200 dollars a year for stamping your passport every month and then another $1500 for the residency fee?

From what I have seen and heard it's more up north and after a rain. We got destroyed up north after a rain. Never any problem even like 3 or 4 miles north but not an expert.
I'm from San Diego, been contemplating a move to Belize. Thinking invest in an affordable piece of land and set up a solar off grid tiny home. Have my RE salesperson's lic, although have to renew it. How do you make a living while in Belize on a Tourist Visa?
You would need to start a business there are no limitations on opening a company as a foreigner
If you cannot afford to start a business and you are currently in the U.S look at getting hired to teach English online that way you get paid by a U.S company in U.S dollars, of course stable internet is required once you move to Belize.
This is how many people are surviving while living abroad.
