My dad always made hummus when I was a kid (he's from the Middle East) and now I make it on a regular basis. We don't use cumin at all, the flavor is just too strong. Salt, garlic, plain yogurt, lemon juice, some olive oil/water to thin, tahini, and drained garbanzo beans. Great video though. Very easy stuff to make.
Just made it, wife loves it, tastes like what you would get in a good middle eastern restaurant. Won’t be buying store bought anymore, thank you for the vid.
Thank you SO much. I’ve tried for some long to make good homemade houmus and haven’t been successful. This is everything I’ve dreamed of AND more! It’s tastes so yummy snd creamy- even better than shop bought. Thank you 🙏
It's 20 to 1 in the morning, the first day back to work after the Christmas holidays, I have to work at 6am and thanks to this video I'm making hummus now.
I followed the recipe as accurately as possible and it was SOOOOO GOOD! It was much better than store bought and was so easy to make too. Now i feel dumb for even buying hummus from the store. Thanks for this recipe. 😊
This is THE BEST hummus recipe. EVER. I watch a few cooking shows and their chefs keep drizzling in more and more olive oil. That makes hummus so slimy and oily. Hummus only needs the bit you suggest and the water makes it better. On a side note, have you seen the hummus recipes that add avocado? I'd love to see how you test the chick pea and avocado blend. Probably would need some lemon/lime to prevent avocado browning.
I don't know why I've never tried making it myself before but I'm glad I did! It tastes so much more "alive" and fresh than store bought, plus it works out a lot cheaper too. I am officially converted! Yummy 😍
I made this humous today & OMG....it is SO DELICIOUS! I've been making humous for years usually following the same recipe, but never got the creaminess this recipe gives & it's all due to processing the tahini + lemon juice first. That is the key. Thank you Inspired Taste. This recipe now replaces my old one.
Inspired taste, I just made the Hummus and it was easy and delicious. You gave great instructions and demonstration. I did not know it was this easy. This was my first and definitely not my last time making Hummus. The only thing I did was add a little more salt and a hot pepper. Thank you very much.
Got my first food processor and wanted to try my hand at making some hummus. Luckily I found YOUR recipe, because it's absolutely amazing! We buy tubs of Sabra now and then just to have in the fridge. My mother is also a hummus fan. I made my first batch following your recipe (including using my own tahini which I also made from your recipe) and my wife loved it, so I made another batch and took it to my mom. She raved about it! In fact, a few weeks later she said she caught herself wanting to eat it with a spoon. She also said that after her and my dad had finished the batch I made, they bought a tub of hummus from the store, and it just didn't cut it anymore. Mine was better. I've also started adding some cayenne (just a few good shakes) and some red pepper flakes (around a half teaspoon) to some batches, for spicy hummus. You have to watch it because you CAN make it too spicy, but a little spice is nice... sometimes. Thank you so much for posting this recipe! I'm not the hummus king, supplying tubs of tasty, pasty goodness to my mom, my sister and our friends. Best hummus ever, and actually quite easy to make.
Humus is being made in my home for many many years. Caned garbanzo beans (with the water), tehini to taste, Lebanon tehiniis very good,, lemon juice and olive oil both to taste. Turn the food pros or on and it is done in few seconds.
I love hummus. I've been enjoying it for many, many years but today was the first time I made it myself. I used your recipe and with a tweak or two, (a tad more cumin and a TON more garlic), and my hubby and I were in heaven!! I'm thrilled to find this easy recipe and I'll never buy hummus from a store again. Thank you so much.
This recipe works so well even for an amateur like me! Really well explained, I didn’t need to modify the recipe in any way and the hummus tasted so delicious 🤤 (not too salty, just a nice balance of savoury and freshness from the lemon)
I followed your recipe and found that after the hummus had aged in the fridge for about two days, the flavors had blended really well--far superior to the first day's batch. The tahini recipe is great! However, I added smoked paprika... and just 1/2 tsp. was enuf that I can faintly pick up on "smoky" but not over-powering. The smoothness of the mixture is fantastic! No more graininess like commercial stuff! Thanks for the effort you made in preparing this video--and yes, I have subscribed!
Thank you very much for sharing your hummus recipe. I am delightfully grateful and happy that you did. I made it for lunch and demolished it with some baked flatbread and tin of Parmesan sundried tomato dip oh was it heaven. It was soo easy to make and tasted fresh and delicious. Thank you, thank you, thank you!
Wow! I've been making my own hummus for years after working in the middle east. I could never get it creamy, but adding water (doh! How could I not have thought of that?!) gave it the texture and brought out the flavor. Thank you!!!
Okay, first of all - this is the best hummus I have ever tasted. I have made 3 (count 'em three) batches and it is just THAT GOOD! Thank you. I add 1/2 tsp of smoked paprika to give it a nice, smoky taste. It takes me about a week to finish the tub. I like how the tahini recipe makes enough for two batches. I shared this video and recipe with family and friends.
Absolutely LOVED your recipe! Yum. I only needed 1 Tbsp of water to get the creamy consistancy I wanted. I might use just a little bit less of the cumin next time as well, but this was absolutely the BEST hummus I've ever tasted. Removing the shells from the garbanzo beans was well worth it. Thanks!
I made way too much and can't stop eating this. Took me a while to make the tahini with my nutribullet but it worked eventually. Thank you for posting all of this
Thank you so much for posting this video! I am definitely making this today!!! I love hummus, and I am excited that now, I won't have to spend as much at the store to have it! YaY!!!
Thanks for the tahini paste recipes because I want to make homemade hummus sauce for my friends 2moro dinner and you are life savers. Thank you so much guys. Hope I see your complicated more recipes I want to learn from you and my first tahini sauce and hummus, by 2moro. And I have never fail whatever I tried before so see you very soon!!🥰🥰
Made it today and I can say it's the best hummus recipe I've eaten. Never get back to store bought again. Thank you for a wonderful home made hummus recipe.
super recipe -- (my wife says it is better than any available in the shops, and she is a mad hummus-maniac) -- I have made it several times exactly as explained by you - cumin included (it isn't too strong in this dose) --- once or twice I added an extra clove of garlic, and I also made it with roasted/grilled red bell peppers --- and your home-made tahini also beats anything in the shops (the light toasting does magic to it) -- now I am going to have a good look on your site for what else you are doing that I could copy ... thanks.
WoW! That is the most amazing hummus I have ever made. I will make it in a food processor next time though. My Ninja with the regular smoothie container wasn't the best option but it still tasted amazing!
Fantastic, simple recipe. Made it 2x, 1st was good but this time had the perfect tahini/lemon/salt/oil balance! BTW if you use dry chickpeas remember to add a little more salt as the canned ones are cured a bit.
Since store-bought hummus around here is not good, I was looking for a good recipe online and yours is definitely a winner! I made it today and it was very tasty! Thank you for sharing it with us!
Made it today, and it totally works. Taste and texture are perfect. Whipping the tahini and lemon first really does give it a great texture. I added a bit more olive oil and some Takii umami powder (mushroom extract) for flavour. Thanks.
I will never buy store bought again ! I just made this I cannot believe how delicious it is. Store bought tastes yucky compared to this hummus. Thanks for sharing this great recipe. Love you channel !
I'm glad to hear that you enjoyed our recipe! Would you mind taking a moment to leave a review in the comment section of our blog? Your positive feedback can encourage others to try our recipes, too. Thank you!
The recipe is pretty good. The only thing you should know is that grinding the tahini like that ruins it, because tahini once heated loses its taste, and the friction in the food processor heats it up. You should process the hummus beans with any liquids and then mix everything else by hand for the best texture and taste. Wait for the beans to cool quite a bit if you cooked them yourself. Also, the secret behind a truly great hummus paste is the quality of the beans and tahini. Canned beans will never be amazing, you should get fresh beans. There are many different kinds of hummus beans, and the smaller ones work best for hummus. As far as tahini, you should get a middle eastern import, and the best quality you can find. a great tahini can make all the difference! It's usually a ratio of 1-0.5 to 1-1 between hummus and tahini in the paste, so the tahini makes up much of the taste.
Brilliant version of hummus, even my boyfriend loves it and he’s not usually a fan, doubled up on recipe so had enough for three days, might try the homemade tahini Recipe next time...2 large lemons, 2 cans of drained peas, I put the sumac inside the hummus because I love it’s lemony flavour. Forgot to chop the garlic first so boyfriend noticed there was a big Clove in there, so had to chop it & put it back in, what a mistake! Was really nice with hummus chips, spring onions, mixed peppers & cucumber crudités & a really good appetiser whilst waiting for dinner to cook. I used cayenne for sprinkles. I imagine this would be a good party dish for hungry guests to have with Fruit cocktails
The dry chickpeas can be soaked in water overnight then cooked in fresh water with baking soda until soft, then rinsed before using it in the chickpea hummus recipe. Great recipe and great presentation. Thanks.
I’ve tried a few different methods and yours is the closest to what I like to eat. I’m making it for the third time now. Finding a hummus recipe is like finding a chili recipe. Everyone does it a little differently. I prefer a Lebanese style hummus and this gets me close to that.

This is amazing! I watched your Tahini recipe, then watched this one. So much better than my last batch. The only thing I change is I save the liquid from the can of chickpeas. It's called Aquafaba, and I use that instead of the water to thin it out. Really elevates the wow factor!
My dad always made hummus when I was a kid (he's from the Middle East) and now I make it on a regular basis. We don't use cumin at all, the flavor is just too strong. Where do you put in plain yogurt & how much?
Does it spoil faster with dairy in it?
Looking forward to your reply. 🙂👍
Thanks so much! We love the cumin, and only add a small amount, but you can always leave it out.
Is it ok if we skip yogurt?
Oh yogart … okay. I never tried that . Gonna try that way ! 🌸 Thank u
Just made it, wife loves it, tastes like what you would get in a good middle eastern restaurant.
Won’t be buying store bought anymore, thank you for the vid.

Out of boredom, I added corn and black beans to this recipe and it was super good!
I just made this hummus and its was delicious, I'm not buying store bought anymore. Thanks for sharing this recipe :)
Wonderful!
Adding iced water makes it reallyyyyy creamy

Yay!! We totally agree.
peeling chickpeas or any kind of vegetables with your kids is a moment you'll never forget. it's such a great bonding experience.
Love it! I just made homemade hummus for the first time and I may never go back to store bought. It has the super smooth texture I was looking for....

Love this recipe! I added a little fresh mint and cilantro and roasted baby carrots, broccoli and cauliflower. We ate the whole thing for dinner!
Just made this hummus and the taste is perfect. Thanks for sharing this recipe..... BEST HUMMUS I’VE MADE EVER!
I save the chickpea juice and use that instead of water
Yess !!!!!
This recipe works so well even for an amateur like me! Really well explained, I didn’t need to modify the recipe in any way and the hummus tasted so delicious 🤤 (not too salty, just a nice balance of savoury and freshness from the lemon)
Very good hummus. Removing the skins is a pain but it is important. If you soak your own beans you can use baking soda to get rid of the skins
THANK YOU! BEST HUMMUS I’VE MADE EVER! 🥰
Big thank you from Hungary! Best-ever hummus I have made.
So happy you enjoyed it!

My FAVOURITE Hummus recipe hands-down! I add a bit of sesame oil once finished in place of the olive oil to give it a more nutty flavour! 😊💜💜
I'm totally addicted to your recipe, thank you so much, love it 💕
Glad you enjoy it!
This recipe is oh so good! I added roasted garlic and some onion powder. WOW!!

I made this yesterday. Doubled the portion and it is even better than store bought hummus. Thanks for the detailed recipe.
Nice to see a cooking video delivery on the promise of " better than store bought" 👍👍
Just made this and it’s incredible!!! The creamiest hummus ever
My daughter and I made this today it is EPIC! Thank you for sharing your recipe, it's a huge thumbs up from us! 👍
WoW! That is the most amazing hummus I have ever made. I will make it in a food processor next time though. My Ninja with the regular smoothie container wasn't the best option but it still tasted amazing!
I like roasted garlic in mine, and I like to top it with roasted red bell pepper. It's so good!
This recipe is just perfect. I got so much popular by this recipe. The hummus taste just like a famous shop here in kuwait. Thank you so much.
You did great 👍 I have learned how to make Greek food at-time I live in Greece 🇬🇷
I have tested it, it is really really, tasty. Thank you from South afrika
Amazing, wish I'd known the pre blending of the juice and tahini years ago. Thanks!
Fantastic, simple recipe. Made it 2x, 1st was good but this time had the perfect tahini/lemon/salt/oil balance!

Amazing recipe! Best hummus i ever made! I used unhulled sesame for my tahini, it still came out super delicious.

Alon Tako Im poor as hell. A can of chickpeas is eighty eight cents...
I have made your hummus and tahini sauce and I LOVE it. I change it up my own way for flavors.

Made it in less than 3 minutes! Awesome! Didn’t have garlic on hand - still tastes great!!
Great recipe, I just made it and it is delicious, thank you
thanks guys this recipe saved my life :)

Glad it helped!
As a lebanese I give you the stamp of approval, great humus HABIBIS!!!
Thanks.
You guys are awesome. I used to mix all ingredients and press on. Your step-by-step method is way superior. And am gonna peel the peas.
Thank you, I finally made this and it turned out beautiful.. so thank you for a great recipe ❤️
Thank you! Love your adorable couple recipes!
This video changed how I make hummus and I love their tahini video too!!!!!!!!!!
I’ve tried a few different methods and yours is the closest to what I like to eat. I’m making it for the third time now. Finding a hummus recipe is like finding a chili recipe. Everyone does it a little differently. I prefer a Lebanese style hummus and this gets me close to that.
This recipe works so well, I tried it for the first time today and it was delicious.😊👍
I bought my food processor 26 years ago to make my own baby food. Now I use to make grown up food for the family. Tonight I am going to use to make this hummus recipe for daughter who is coming to visit tomorrow.
Hope you both enjoy it!
This is one of my favorite meal side . Thanks you did such amazing job !
You are so welcome!
Awesome tip and technique. Turned out so delecious. Thank u guys.
Is there something wrong with your site? I have been trying to get the recipe so I can print it and it won't open. This is, BY FAR, the BEST hummus recipe I've ever had!
We had a few technical difficulties this more. All fixed now :)
You guys are the best. I still love your original recipe, but this is awesome too.
just made this - it lives up to the hype!!!
First video I've ever watched from you guys, love you two already!
This is amazing! I watched your Tahini recipe, then watched this one. So much better than my last batch. The only thing I change is I save the liquid from the can of chickpeas. It's called Aquafaba, and I use that instead of the water to thin it out. Really elevates the wow factor!
Yeh , but isn’t that liquid full of chemicals and adders which are not so good for health. Keep that in mind 😊
Yay! Great tip about the aquafaba. It does help the hummus whip up even more when used as a substitute to the water.
Not necessarily. We buy salt-free, BPA free cans of chickpeas so the beans and liquid are both great to use for hummus.
Just made it and excited to eat all hummus, all the time this coming week.
