1Corinthuans 11:15 21 "But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given her for a covering." So here is the problem; if for centuries women in western Christian cultures have worn their hair and show their faces in public, it is not right for women from other cultures, who chose to force their customs on their new homes, to do so. Why have they moved out of their oppressive nations and yet continue to behave as if still oppressed ? Adapt or leave.
Dr Taj is correct. The Niqab is a persomal choice which comes from culture. It is not documented in the Quran regarding this and it is not compulsory in islam. Covering the head and chest is however mentioned. And he is also right during pilgrimage it is not a necessity to wear this either and neither is it a requirement when you are buried in your coffin. What is mentioned however is Khimar. Which what people know as Hijab.
How you perform salah today isn't fully described in the Qur'an, does that mean those aspects of the salah we carry out are out of personal choice? Don't be ridiculous. The hadith and sunnah exist for a reason
As muslims, we do not ONLY follow the Quran, but also the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammed (saw). In his era, his wives and the women of his society chose to wear the niqab to extra modest and guard their beauty. Some may follow the opinion that the niqab is mandatory and some may think that it is highly encouraged. It is not just a cultural thing but also religious. When it comes to not covering the face whilst performing tawaf during the pilgrimage, they do so in the state of ihram, that is just what is ordered. This is an exception. When one is performing pilgrimage on the holy land they have to follow the rules that come with it. There are exceptions when it comes to this and does not apply to every-day situations. Outside of the pilgrimage, nowhere does it say that wearing the niqab is prohibited, in fact it is encouraged.
All points of view are valid depending on their historical background, and we should be able to accept them without judgment. Nevertheless, If I choose to live in a country with a different culture, I will try to understand and adapt to that culture. If I go to someone else's home, I will never try to impose my way of life. Another point is that we get to know people by seeing their faces, gestures and eyes. Otherwise, it is challenging to know them if they are hidden behind a veil. We can connect within our inner selves, but body language helps us better understand others.
I am unmarried and I wear veil by my choice ...And I am sure you would not believe it because you guys are not concerned about our Muslim women but you are concerned about being an islamophobe
How is it that a fool who cannot see enough to see the truth but then can speak on matters upon which they have absolutely no knowledge... And so we have females who feel protection by covering and the foolishness of some people who think it is not an essential practice to be for the female's as a protection by way of the clothing they have chosen...🤔
@@ayeshabarlaan3594 I hear you. But being as God made you to be is not 'showing off'. You really think our ancestors wore things to cover their faces? They are the reason we are here now. The positioning of our eyes, nose, mouth and ears on the human head is clearly a perfect 'design' to allow us to see, smell, talk/taste, and hear. Blocking those God made attributes is madness. If He didn't want them on show, they wouldn't be there to begin with. Or our faces would be covered in fur like 600 million other animals. You're essentially saying "God made a mistake so I will cover it up." What if cotton or linen or wool had never been invented/discovered? Any human creation is simply a human creation. Taking God-made perfection and throwing a cloak over it is sacrilege. So is 'sexualising' the face. It's also a little bit arrogant to assume that showing a face would bring unwanted attention. Not everyone is attracted to everyone else. We have personal attraction that most of us don't even understand. And, if there are 2,000 people in a British high street, the lady wearing a burka/hijab will gain MORE attention for simply wearing it. None of this is meant as an insult. I respect all religions because, at their core, they are all pointing at the same Truth. It just saddens me that we humans think we know better than our creator. God bless you.
@@mattthompson4836 Islam does not promote the idea that the reason why women choose to cover their faces is due to them being insecure and unsatisfied with how they look. As muslims, we acknowledge the fact that God has made women to be very beautiful, no doubt. And to say that we think that we cover to "hide" God's mistake is completely wrong, we believe that God can never ever make a mistake. We cover up because we believe that there is no need to show all of our beauty to people other than our spouse and family. This actually prevents the sexualisation and objectification of women that you see these days because they are covered and no part of their body is visible. This acts as a protection against all of that. Once again, we believe that all creations of God are beautiful including women, but we just don't think that their beauty is for the whole world to see because it is just too precious. May God bless you.
here is my opinion on this, as a christian i am a strong believer in free will as that is what god gave us all through jesus christ. i am glad she(the muslim) is wearing the burka on her own terms, if it helps her feel closer to her god, allah, that is amazing. it is, however, rather dehumanising and strips women away from their identity, for male benefit. it is sad to see. also, a lot of muslim women and young girls are forced to wear the burka, with no face to even be shown.

I can't believe people are judging this amazing woman , shows how small minded and terrible they are. We shouldn't ever judge someone. If you haven't met her and don't know her story why are we being so rude? Honestly niqab is more cultural from arabian countries. The face and hands and feet are allowed to be uncovered. In the pilgrimage a cloth cant touch the face of a woman. If she wishes to wear it then she can. The fact that the uk is upset is the funniest to me,so many teens and boys wear fully covered and hoodies and masks and look like gangsters . So many opinions are biased if you hate them just be honest.
the point is that we conceal parts of ourselves for ourselves, and those that we believe God has made lawful for us to share our beauty with. if you look at things from the apparent, you won’t understand. if something is precious, it is covered. Islam values the woman’s worth beyond her beauty, so only allows it to be shared with those who deserve it, and will appreciate her beyond her beauty and not solely because of it. if you’re worried about security risk, you must’ve been scared of everyone during Covid-19, not just because you’ll get a virus. trust me, niqabi women are probably the people you least need to be scared of .. because most likely they fear God before anyone to harm you in the slightest .. :/

Plus, his knowledge of the other benefits to a woman that chooses to wear niqab further demonstrates the excellency of his character and depth, subhanAllah.
Imagine no one minding when people go out in bikini or hot pant but when someone wears a extra layer of clothing for religious purpose you attack them.
Nudity is normal and modesty is crime.
You don't discriminates nun on covering her whole body to head to toe but when it's muslim it's another story.
Truly the world turned upside down! People who dress modestly are attacked. Insane.
It is not the matter of modesty, it is the matter of concealing your identity.

I wish the burqa was banned in Europe. It is intimidating and difficult to relate to a faceless person. If you want to wear a burqa please go to a Muslim majority country where this is celebrated. Holly you are being disingenuous and why I stopped watching you a long time ago.
We need a ban on ALL face coverings in UK, with exemption for motorbikes etc

Muslims follow Quran and Sunnah. There is a difference of opinion on niqab being mandatory, it's an issue of dispute.@@revyam
It’s very unbritish and inappropriate unless in private / place of worship.
Just got back from Porttmouth on hot sunny simmer day. Everywhere, and I mean everywhere, was full of large families with burkhas along. Even 3 years ago wasnt like it is today. Whats happening to the UK?
why would an Imam think that it should be banned if he's Muslim, do you call that an imam. Although there's a difference of opinion between the scholars of Islam, the imam shouldn't say it should be banned he just should defend his idea and not try to make other people's ideas sound stupid
Oh there are multiple such self-proclaimed 'imams' that nobody really knows or cares about. They are selectively chosen and brought on the shows for some clout. Being muslim is not following some imam...it's about following the book and the teachings of the last prophet and all the other prophets that came before him (peace be upon them all)

No Gorvenment allowed to ban niqarb & Hijaab but In public women cannot show their body. Human because.
why are we even discussing this? this is not our cutuire, they can wear whatever they want but stay away .. We do not want multicuturalism. let our gov open their houses and families but not our houses or county, how much rights do we have in a muslim community. even given full right i would not want to mix the two cultures. there is a reason there are different cultures. you cannot force birds and fish to live together. English people interested to convert to that culture they can move, and those who like our culture also may have an opportunity... For someone to move in my house asking me to change my rules that is called occupation. occupation can be achieved in many ways not only wars

Get with the now ....
1Corinthuans 11:15 21
"But if a woman has long hair, it is a glory to her, for her hair is given her for a covering." So here is the problem; if for centuries women in western Christian cultures have worn their hair and show their faces in public, it is not right for women from other cultures, who chose to force their customs on their new homes, to do so.

Oh lord, why oh why would you want to hid your beauty
Showing off your beauty and appearance is not that important for everyone.
@@mattthompson4836 if that’s how you interpreted or took my comment then ok.
Cause it's their choice, you can't force someone to think alike do the same stuff as other. People are diverse! And everyone thoughts are different..
well, nobody is stopping Dr Taj to wear a Burqa.. lol
here is my opinion on this, as a christian
i am a strong believer in free will as that is what god gave us all through jesus christ. i am glad she(the muslim) is wearing the burka on her own terms, if it helps her feel closer to her god, allah, that is amazing. it is, however, rather dehumanising and strips women away from their identity, for male benefit. it is sad to see. also, a lot of muslim women and young girls are forced to wear the burka, with no face to even be shown.

The face and hands and feet are allowed to be uncovered.
In the pilgrimage a cloth cant touch the face of a woman.

the point is that we conceal parts of ourselves for ourselves, and those that we believe God has made lawful for us to share our beauty with. if you look at things from the apparent, you won’t understand. if something is precious, it is covered. Islam values the woman’s worth beyond her beauty, so only allows it to be shared with those who deserve it, and will appreciate her beyond her beauty and not solely because of it.
