    UKIP’s Paul Nuttall has pledged to ban the burka in Britain, but is he right to do so? Sahar Al-Faifi wears a burka and believes true integration should mean women can wear what they like, but Dr Taj Hargey says there is no logic behind Muslim women covering up in the UK.

      I’m a muslim woman who wears just the headscarf and I’ve spoken with a lot of muslim woman who cover their faces and I know a lot in real life. Every single one of them wear it for religion. They wear it for god. and although covering your face is not mandatory at all they just like to be extra modest for god. That’s it. And as for muslim men it’s not allowed for them to wear tight shirts or short shorts - the muslim men who were with that muslim woman probably just weren’t as religious as her. Modesty is a big part of islam and cultural values. I’m an african muslim and it’s a big part of my faith because i’m a muslim - although i don’t see myself wearing the face covering because i don’t like how it feels, I admire women who have that level of submission to God. As for the comment who replied to you I apologise on their behalf because they are not a good representation of islam at all and they violated rules that say you need to be kind to everyone. I know my reply is really long but I just wanted to give you a clear answer 🤍 Have a nice day🫶🏽🎀

I dont believe in the religious argument. It is important to see expression when someone is talking. It is also important to see if behind that mask its a man or woman. THIS IS VERY SIMPLE
    The primary physical expression of a woman's human identity is not her feet, or her knees, or her hands, or even her hair... IT IS HER FACE.
    To repeat... a woman's face is the primary physical expression of her human identity.
    Therefore, face-deleting clothing, by definition, DEHUMANIZES THE WEARER.
    This is true, even when the wearer chooses the face-deleting clothing.
    A society that allows its citizens to dehumanize themselves... is a society that has lost its moral compass.
    Protect women from being dehumanised (in Western society)... Ban the Niqab today.

    Banning the niqab and burqa (the Muslim head-scarf options that covers the face) leaves Muslim women with the options of wearing a hijab (and its cultural variations such as the shayla, esarp and tudung) or a khimar (with its variations like the dupatta and chador) or a turban. British Muslim here. Now, women can wear whatever they want. That's the beauty of freedom in the UK. But, there is what you call a 'social responsibility for peace.' Statistically, the minority of these women wearing burkas have caused a social divide in culturalism, as social media is able to make it look like a minority is a majority. It has given backward-thinking far-right people a reason to somehow say Islam is taking over the country, which is absurd. This integration needs to be done carefully. For example, I've read the comments reacting to this situation, and there are mixed views about this, but the collective society says that it is important to have your face revealed for social cohesion. Thus, regardless of your religious interpretation, I believe that in order to become a part of a community, you need to follow what the people with good intentions feel comfortable with. Think of it as this: Two people who like chocolate cake are likely to be friends.

The positioning of our eyes, nose, mouth and ears on the human head is clearly a perfect 'design' to allow us to see, smell, talk/taste, and hear. Blocking those God made attributes is madness. If He didn't want them on show, they wouldn't be there to begin with. Or our faces would be covered in fur like 600 million other animals. You're essentially saying "God made a mistake so I will cover it up." What if cotton or linen or wool had never been invented/discovered? Any human creation is simply a human creation.
      Taking God-made perfection and throwing a cloak over it is sacrilege. So is 'sexualising' the face. It's also a little bit arrogant to assume that showing a face would bring unwanted attention. Not everyone is attracted to everyone else. We have personal attraction that most of us don't even understand. And, if there are 2,000 people in a British high street, the lady wearing a burka/hijab will gain MORE attention for simply wearing it.
      None of this is meant as an insult. I respect all religions because, at their core, they are all pointing at the same Truth. It just saddens me that we humans think we know better than our creator. God bless you.

      @@mattthompson4836 Islam does not promote the idea that the reason why women choose to cover their faces is due to them being insecure and unsatisfied with how they look. As muslims, we acknowledge the fact that God has made women to be very beautiful, no doubt. And to say that we think that we cover to "hide" God's mistake is completely wrong, we believe that God can never ever make a mistake. We cover up because we believe that there is no need to show all of our beauty to people other than our spouse and family. This actually prevents the sexualisation and objectification of women that you see these days because they are covered and no part of their body is visible. This acts as a protection against all of that. Once again, we believe that all creations of God are beautiful including women, but we just don't think that their beauty is for the whole world to see because it is just too precious. Dr Taj is correct. The Niqab is a persomal choice which comes from culture. It is not documented in the Quran regarding this and it is not compulsory in islam. Covering the head and chest is however mentioned. And he is also right during pilgrimage it is not a necessity to wear this either and neither is it a requirement when you are buried in your coffin. What is mentioned however is Khimar. Which what people know as Hijab.

      How you perform salah today isn't fully described in the Qur'an, does that mean those aspects of the salah we carry out are out of personal choice? Don't be ridiculous. The hadith and sunnah exist for a reason

    • @fatemam6994
      @fatemam6994 9 месяцев назад +1

      As muslims, we do not ONLY follow the Quran, but also the Sunnah of the Prophet Muhammed (saw). In his era, his wives and the women of his society chose to wear the niqab to extra modest and guard their beauty. Some may follow the opinion that the niqab is mandatory and some may think that it is highly encouraged. It is not just a cultural thing but also religious. When it comes to not covering the face whilst performing tawaf during the pilgrimage, they do so in the state of ihram, that is just what is ordered. This is an exception. When one is performing pilgrimage on the holy land they have to follow the rules that come with it. There are exceptions when it comes to this and does not apply to every-day situations. Outside of the pilgrimage, nowhere does it say that wearing the niqab is prohibited, in fact it is encouraged.
