- Today I'm packing up our products and spending a day at the farmers market. I'll show you how I set up our booth and how we sell our products, as well as giving you a tour of the Ithaca farmers market. I'll explain the farmers market rules and different fees, and what the experience of selling at the farmers market is like.
Note:
-We do not offer farm tours
-We do not ship our farm's products

Your channel will break 1/4 million this year. Let’s go. God bless. We need real farmer and homestead guy with real value.
Yep once you get above 100k it starts to grow fast!!
I worked out the math about 8 months ago and that’s what I factored +/-. So yeah, you are correct Grant! God bless!
I'm crossing my fingers for him. He deserves it.
It's enjoyable to see how your products get sold. I worked at a Farmers Market and always enjoyed it when customers stopped by and purchased items.
Hi Larry, selling products you grew directly to the folks who will eat them is one of the most rewarding parts of having a farm!
@@JustaFewAcresFarm yep
It was a pleasure meeting you yesterday sir. We had delicious fried egg sandwiches for lunch when we arrived home from the market. What a difference fresh eggs make!
Dan & Donna from Homer.
My point! I'm trying think of other avenues of sales in the afternoon and you came up with it haha surely he can get some bread from another stall and do egg or sausage sandwiches🤷🏼♂️
Hi Dan & Donna, it was nice meeting you, and thanks for your business!
@@JustaFewAcresFarm can you show more of this I really like the content at the markets
What I like about you is that you are personal Pete. I live in Hong Kong but I really wish I could come past your market and say hi. Maybe some day I will. Till then I will continue to enjoy your videos, including your tractor ones and your daily chores. I enjoy them all. Thanks Pete.
Thanks Jon!
Very nice to see local markets that sell products you can't just find from a random retailer. This was really interesting footage of how things are at the other side of the world.
I’m in the hospital after getting hit by a car on my dirt bike, I’m in constant pain and I just wanted you to know your videos are giving so much hope and making me feel better
Get well soon friend I’m praying for you.
I hope you feel better soon and I'm glad I can help take your mind off things!
It’s always a better day when I watch one of your new videos. Thank you very much!
That was enjoyable. I’m really liking your Sunday videos.
Wow, $4.50 a dozen is a bargain. Here in SoCal we pay $7.00 for a dozen of Organic pasture raised eggs from Vital Farms and every time we go back for more they seem to have gone up again. Last year they were about what you currently sell at. Honestly, I can’t go back to regular eggs anymore, I rather pay it. There is just no comparison in the quality of the egg. Thank you for bringing us along, I love seeing my home state again. I wish I could drop by your booth and buy your products
Reasors in Park Hill Ok...... 8.00! So I now have my own chickie goils with a new coop going in :D
@Allan Ritchie The difference is between someone selling eggs because they have too many for personal use, and someone making a business out of it. When you figure in the costs and a modest profit, $4.50 is not unreasonable.
$7.50 up here in BC
really enjoyable to watch you sell, appreciate the hardwork you put in, you clearly enjoy what you do.. excellent content as always
One of our local farmers markets recently closed after 96 years. I have a lot of fond memories there and it will be sorely missed. In it's day it was quite the weekend event.
My God, that was a Tuna sandwhich! You've got to get Hillary to show us how she makes them. I'd love a monster tuna sandwhich that thick, LOL. Love your market shows Pete. Way to swing those freezers around. ;)
Pete, you are a good man.
Perhaps one of my top favorite videos yet! As a teen, I went with my Uncle to Detroit Eastern Farmer's Market with a load of whole hogs. We'd lay 'em out on the table and people would point to the cuts on the hog they wanted, and we would slice, chop, and cut them up to order while they watched and waited. Also went with my Grandfather to sell a pickup load of sweet corn and other produce at Flint Farmer's Market.
So many schmuck's on You tube. Pete's a really honest, nice guy. I never get tired of listening to his voice, a wealth of knowledge. All power to your elbow my friend.
That was a great video. We also sell at the farmers market and totally relate to your pains. Signage with good bold lettering has helped to inform the customers what we sell and bright tablecloths as well. Keep smiling and the good work you do.
Love your channel and the videos you post! Loved this particular video to see the number of items being sold at your local Farmer's Market. Look forward to new videos all the time! Good luck with your farm and family!
That was great thanks. I'm so sorry for farmers like you who have to rely on the public for income in these COVID times. You can tell you love your product and I wish you all the best.
Lucky people who buy your produce, it must be delicious !☀️🤘🇬🇧
Reminds me a lot of my weekends having a booth at the gun show years ago. Hours of boredom with moments of chaos intermingled in between. I sold army surplus personal items like backpacks, belts, misc. bags, and whatnot. Very specific market, some weekends were great, most were not so much. Keep up the good work Pete. God Bless.
Beautiful eggs! A coworker of mine brings his in-laws’, farm fresh eggs in and sells them at a real bargain. I always grab a couple of dozen. That bright, healthy orange yolk is worth it.
My wife used to run a farmer’s market and I would help her out sometimes. So much of what you said brought back some memories. Good content here on what to expect at a farmer’s market.
Nice market Pete. The way it should be done . ✌👍
Thank you for feeding the country
Cool to see "behind the scenes" and how it works. Looks like a good setup! Ours is just a parking lot
Enjoyed your Video, Thanks for taking us along to the Farmers Market!
Great video. I really enjoyed your day at the market.
My husband and I absolutely love watching your channel! We always yell “Farmer Pete!” whenever we see you put a new video out :D My one request is that you have a Hilary takeover episode! I’d love to know more about how she got started with the chickens and any tips she has about raising them. Also what it’s like to live with such a jokester lol. Maybe she could just do a voice over or something. Anyway, keep up the great work! Happy Spring!
Glad to see your at the market again Pete. Seems like a lot of governing for a farmers market. Must frustrating to wade through all the rules and paperwork. Who would have thought something as simple as selling eggs and meat to someone would be so litigated. Anyways always love to see your videos Pete. Hope business picks up for ya.
Very interesting on what and how goes on with the farmers market. It allows the public to partake in a variety of products and for you a chance to sell the fruits of your labor.
This afternoon I purchased eggs from him. They are really fresh, all different sizes and colors. Great to talk with the producer as I buy the groceries, which is the best part of farmers market.
I hope to meet you at Market one day and hear your worst dad joke. God bless from East TN!
Real sweet person I ever seen on RUclips. Specially in America
Thanks. That very interesting. I like the way you pack your eggs.
Hi Pete nice to see the market. I enjoyed going see things from your point of view. Have a good day.
I love your videos keep up the hard work. God bless the working man 👨 🙏🏼
All kidding aside, the market is a nice comfortable place and it looks like it draws good traffic. That said, it's nice to have a place like that to go to and have reasonable assurance the products you produce will find buyers. After all, if you don't attract buyers for you product you don't get the money to stay in the farming business. I'm guessing it's a hard way to make a good income and the best part it lets you do the work, you enjoy doing.
I used to work for a bank heading a team training people in customer service, and i must say you understand it better than most people do. And the most important thing for me was making eye contact, smiling and remaining pro-active on the customer's behalf, the things you seems to have a lot of........................
Man l am inspired by the hardworking, you do at your age .Man stay blessed
Ithaca is very fortunate to have a market where residents can buy fresh, organic, farm raised products. I’m sure if they tip well you might even throw in a dad joke. Your farm and products add a lot to the quality of life to Ithaca. I’m sure your customers appreciate you!
I hope and pray that this honest farmer always gets sold out in the market…always!
Great behind the scenes video Pete. Has to be draining for you and yet rewarding in many ways. Good luck & I hope things pick up for you.
Hiya Pete, great to see ya go to market again,... I love this!!!
We enjoy all your videos. It’s great to have the variety.
Hello Peter. Thanks for the time at the Farmer's Market. I know how good farm eggs are... my daughter raises chickens and keeps us supplied. What a beautiful yellow are the scrambled eggs. Good luck for a successful season! Be well.

Good Job. Thanks for showing some of the marketing part of a small farm. It takes time but helps your cash flow. Thanks for the video Pete
Just because of this video, I've added a reminder for Sat mornings to go to the Farmers Market. Seems like I forget until it's too late and I missed it...
Thanks for giving the crowd forecast! You've done wonders with this channel and hope more folks find you! :D
Always Pete. Always!
I really enjoyed this one. It was fun to see behind the lines as to how it works from a vendor's perspective. Tough to be on point emotionally for hours at a time.
I really enjoyed this segment you showed at the farmer's market. Reminds me of some years ago when I would be involved in selling products myself.
What a MARVELOUS Farmer’s Market!! I wish there was one in my area. I hope the sales pick up for you and all the sellers. ❤️
Thank you for sharing, Covid has really hit hard on small businesses. Blessings this New Year.
Ever since I discovered you'e channel, I love it. I live in Michigan but I love what you have to say.
Never change. Your videos have a personable and wholesome quality to them.
Hope you have a good Father's Day!
👍🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🗽🙏🏻 Enjoyed! And had fun at the market!
Reminds me so much of the swap meets me and my Dad used to sell at when I was growing up. He supported a family of eleven and yes, I do miss him. Gotta do what you gotta do.. Great channel Pete..
Awesome "day in the life" video! My wife went on a vacation with her sister to Ithaca a few years ago, and it just looks like an amazing place. When we have the means to take a "big" vacation, Ithaca is at the top of my list!
Thank you SO much!
Thanks for showing your farmer's market
I've never really had a hero or someone to really look up to.. but your the guy I want to be. Congrats on your future success!
Thank you very much
Thanks for sharing awesome. Sorry for the hardship during these crazy times.
Peter, I really enjoy watching your videos. I'm saddened that your business is suffering because of covid. I hope things get better soon. Farms like yours are a national treasure. Good luck and God bless 🙏.
I really enjoy the video’s and they are always very interesting and knowledgeable. I wish we had a good farmer’s market near us in New Hampshire but they are more artistic than food oriented. Keep up the great work.
You so are amazing wish I lived closer to you all I love the farmers market.
Another nice one Pete 🚜
Great video. I sell free-range eggs every Saturday at various farmers' markets here in Melbourne Australia. I sell on behalf of my friend's business. Your markets are so similar to our ones here, but thankfully they all finish at 1pm. I've been doing it for about 6 yrs and I really enjoy chatting with our regular customers. Electronic transactions have definitely increased especially since Covid, and we use Square as well.
Awesome stuff it was neat to finally get to see what the market is like. Appreciate the video
Loved this.
Just got back from our Farmers Mkt in Huntsville and the temp was 66 F. the wind was blowing and I froze ......Happy that it was not 35 degrees....More power to you cold hardy New Yorkers!!!
Here is wishing you success at Markets all season......Larry @ Scoot's Organic
Subscribed from India. It's really good to see and learn about American farm life.
You are such a cute beautiful person. Calming to watch you. God bless you.
New to your channel and very much liking it. My dad was a farmer and brings back good memories.....When we go to fairs now the venders offer cash price and extra dollars to charge, you might want to go that route. All the best.
A lot of amazing work
I stumbled onto your channel really enjoy it ty for posting
Truly enjoy your channel, look forward to see every episode. Can’t wait until the tractor is put back together and running! You keep my dream alive of starting my own homestead in central/southwest VA. Dexter cows are now on my wish list! Thanks and keep up the GREAT work!!!

I think it's great. I like the concept. Very nice. 🙌🙌 God bless. 🖐🏼🙌🙏☝️👍
When things settle down we should go check out the Ithaca farmers market. We usually go to the regional market in Syracuse.

Thanks for sharing. This was a great learning experience!
Great video Pete
What a neat day to see the market. Sorry it was slow and boring most of the time. Still a good day.😊
thank you pete, for sharing your market. i don't think most people realise how much effort goes into market day. we used to do a marketon Saturdays but the market didn't start until the end of june. by the people were going to markets that had already started earlier. we did ok considering we only sold eggs. we got grief for another vendor because of our price for eggs. we didn't under cut them on purpose. i knew how much it cost me to raise and care for my hens, so there was no reason to gouge the customers. and we always sold out.
