I think it would leave a bad taste in people’s mouth if Oppenheimer sweeps and Murphy doesn’t win Actor. 🤷🏽♀️
That would rub so many people including me the wrong way. All of us would be pissed.
I AGREE
Dumb movie
CILLIAN MURPHY & OPPENHEIMER all the way to wins at the Oscars!!!!! 🏆
my biggest surprise was priscilla making no noise, i really enjoyed it and expected it to be better received
I agree I love that movie and think it's a masterpiece but it's not a surprise when you know that Sofia Coppola movies infuriatingly never get respect
With the exception of Lost in Translation. She won an Oscar for Best Original Screenplay for that movie.
Maybe they don't want 2 Elvis related films to get attention back to back.
Cruz won a Volpi Cup for Parellel Mothers and the movie was universally acclaimed. The same can't be said about Ferrari. Her SAG nod is as random as Watts for St. Vincent
You're forgetting that she's also received a fair amount of mentions from critics groups for Ferrari, and that can be it's own kind of precursor. Supporting Actress is crazy this year, but I would not doubt her.
Cruz was a runner-up at NSFC (National Society Film Critics). Performances with that kind of acclaim are not random SAG nods.
Nah. She's 100% getting nominated.
@@rogercalvomedina674 May I know where is her 100% nom? Not as random as Watts's nom?🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
@@vodkatonyq Wow the NSFC mattered so much that it couldn't even propel Cruz to an Oscar nom 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Cruz's SAG nom for Ferrari now will go down in history as a super random awards season nom just like Watts for St. Vincent. May I also inform you that Ferrari tanked at the Oscar? Not even a sound nom. Not random? LMAO🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
I agree, I also think Greta Gerwig will unfortunately miss, but it's going to be Justine Triet who takes her place. Triet being the Pawlikowski/Östlund/Vinterberg type of nomination of the year
Personally I think Justine’s directing was more impressive than Greta’s
@@freja201 Honestly, I have to agree. Anatomy of a Fall was a stellar and well-directed film. It's my third favourite of the year.
@@Choekaas agree!!! and barbie was a disaster in tone
I think Jonathan Glazer will be the international director nominated.
There's room for both. I just think Triet will take the Glazer spot.
The Boy and the Heron for Best Score! please..
I need that May December T Immediately
I need that May Dethember T immediately***
I really can't see Payne getting snubbed.
He got DGA and BAFTA, so he is highly respected by the Director's branch.
I don’t care I’m going to delusionally believe Charles Melton is still getting in 😵💫
I still believe he can somehow get it. I'm that delulu
Can't wait for Oscar night!
I agree with most of all your predictions! Good job!
The Color Purple might still surprise.
I've been ride or die on the Supp Actor lineup being RDJ, Gosling, Dafoe, De Niro, and Howerton since Oppenheimer opened and goddamn it if I'm gonna give up now
I love the hope about Howerton. Keep it up!
@@gabrielfernandes3117 its cope by this point, Howerton isn't big enough to pull a Penelope Cruz in Parallel Mothers-type nomination but something compels me to keep him in
@@devdanferguson7616 Bryan Tyree Henry kind of nomination
it's gonna be hell of a surprises on nomination day some snubs and shocking surprise waiting but happy day for oppenhomies
So proud of you Drunk for doing a giveaway to ur OF lifetime subscription. Im already subscribed but ill enter the giveaway anyway
Nahhh! There’s is no way The Flash somehow made it into the best picture list at #20 but The Iron Claw isn’t on the list at all😭😭
True
Call me a delusional wrestling fan, which I am, but I got Iron Claw sneaking in Best Picture and Zac Efron getting a nod for lead actor.
Very unlikely but I would love it 🙃
I need that Oppenheimer disc expeditiously
The Killer for Editing!!!
It's interesting how May December started strong (even getting into AFI and Globes) but then fizzled out.
The Color Purple started and ended weak. Oppenheimer has been able to maintain its frontrunner status.
And then we have a movie like The Holdovers which was doing good to begin with but has been increasing strength as the season goes on.
Can't wait for the Oscar nominations!
Dominic sessa is coming for that nom!
Are you going to the park again for the reaction? Seems like the perfect spot for smth like this
Love your videos & predictions my dude! I’m with you, I think the PGA 10 is gonna be the Oscars 10. Here’s hoping
I definitely agree with best picture noms
Can’t believe you put The Flash at 20…that shit should be top 10
I'm gonna assume that's sarcasm
@@dojomojo5085 noooooo, I’m completely serious :|
Payne is definitely in for Best Director. I even think The Holdovers could steal Best Picture away!
Impossible
Oppenheimer is so incredibly boring in its last hour--I think that hurts it. People only showed up for that movie to see the bomb drop. Pretty disappointing.@@RA-hx9uc
I'm very worried that you're right about Gerwig being left out (I keep picturing Payne getting in instead), but I just cannot, in good conscience, write this in my predictions. I'm keeping her in, and having Glazer as the 5th spot, to send that energy out into the world that she deserves to stay. It's the only way I can sleep at night.
I’m hoping Japan gets representation at the Oscars. They have so many great movies out last year with Godzilla: Minus One, The Boy and the Heron, Suzume, and Perfect Days, and I would love to see all of those four films at least get one nomination!
Godzilla, 100% deserves visual effects
Not The Flash at #20 😆
Might as well be 11. The 10 are locked.
I thought it was a joke
@@gabrielfernandes3117 Most definitely a joke, even Elemental would be ahead of the Flash...
The flash is still legit better than Barbie
Hey Jonathan, noticed you're not at sundance. Will you be attending any of the other festivals like TIFF?
The flash #20…..very funny
I think it was smart to put Anatomy of a Fall for winning Original Screenplay because in the past 12 years, every winner of that category was also the director of the film as well. If The Holdovers does win, then it would break that decade long stat, and I'm not sure if that's worth betting against.
I honestly think that given the momentum that "The Holdovers" is is getting there might be a chance for Dominic Sessa to get a nomination.
I don’t feel good about it but I’m snubbing Lanthimos in my predictions. I just feel like Glazer is solidly in and I don’t know why Payne would miss at this point. So that leaves Lanthimos and Triet, and it just feels wrong to have an all male lineup in a year of such amazing woman directed films, so I’m keeping Triet in.
Yay u got all 5 for directing
I'm kinda expecting a big snub and I can't decide if its either Scorsese in directing or Cooper in Acting.
I hope cooper gets snubbed.....infact i hope maestro gets snubbed in EVERYTHING.....
@@Rash23215omg thank you. Maestro was not good. Sorry, Bradley.
Maestro sucks!!! So boring and over acted
Scorsese will get nominated for director. It would be a travesty if he is snubbed. To be honest I liked Killers of the Flower Moon. Yes it was long but was it boring no.
Oppenheimer baby!!!!
A Sandra double nom would be a dream. Hope it happens.
Melton is not happening. If a newcomer gets in it’s Sessa not melton. The holdovers is much stronger.
sandra should win best actress
@@melisagalvalizi6982 she should but she won’t sadly. I think Emma will
I would personally put the flash at number 18 but I'm not very confident about it. And Ezra miller at number 16 for best actor and best supporting actor at the same time
Still worried it won’t make top 20. Crossing fingers to manifest it. C’mon!
I can't believe Charles Melton and Julianne Moore might potentially miss. It would be crushing. Their performances were amazing!!!
is the giveaway open to us residents only or open internationally?
zone of interest for production design?
Got It!
Just commenting for the giveaway
Definitely I agree with you
Paul Giamatti should win Best Actor. Thanks.
I agree.
Putting The Flash at 20 for picture made my day 😂
Director: Christopher Nolan, Martin Scorsese, Justine Triet, Jonathan Glazer, & Alexander Payne
Actress: Sandra Huller, Emma Stone, Carey Mulligan, Margot Robbie, & Lily Gladstone
Actor: Cillian Murphy, Paul Giamatti, Bradley Cooper, Jeffrey Wright, & Colman Domingo
Supporting Actress: Emily Blunt, Da'Vine Joy Randolph, Claire Foy, Penelope Cruz, & Sandra Huller
Supporting Actor: Robert Downey Jr., Ryan Gosling, Willem Dafoe, Sterling K. Brown, & Robert De Niro
Somebody else commented any time Payne was nominated, Scorsese was nominated as well, so that could be the case here & Holdovers got a lot of Bafta nominations so he’s definitely in.
That May December shirt is really cool
slay king
Lilly Gladstone is playing the race card. Her performance is very normal.
she's not playing the race card you idiot. acting like she's using her race as a reason why she should win when she's not. she's getting nominated because her performance is great.
I think it's good but not Best Actress worthy. Perhaps she should've competed in Supporting.
every comment on this video
I need that May december T
the flash at 20!!!
Why lack of Gerwig is "sad"? She doesn't deserve this nomination (though I think that she will be nominated): Scorsese, Nolan, Lanthimos, Payne, Glazer, even Triet made movies that were far better directed than "Barbie".
is the giveaway international?
I need that May December tee to be my new loungewear and for every time I open the fridge to check for hotdogs.
I thought Zone Of Interest wasn’t shortlisted in Score?
Saltburn is 2023’s version of a portrait of a lady on fire (2019). Highly recommend
how dare you insult portrait of a lady on fire like that
Nothing alike. Portrait of a Lady on Fire is far superior.
Don't see the comparison. I thought Saltburn was great and I detested portrait of a lady on fire.
Awards season has really made Zone of Interest my top to watch movie. Spiderman seems to have fallen down a bit. I only expect it in best animated feature tbh and might not even win.
I’ll be annoyed if that happens.
2V1
RDJ/ITADORI & CILLIAN/TODO VS JOAQUIN PHOENIX/MAHITO.
Oppenheimer for the most nominations. I think it would sweep the Oscars win best Picture and Director.
I'm expecting the worst. Color Purple in Best Picture and The Zone of Interest out, Bradley Cooper in Best Director and Justine Triet or Jonathan Glazer out, Leo Dicaprio out of Best Actor and Margot Robbie in Best Actress and Greta Lee out.
im just gonna be delulu by predicting greta lee and charles melton 😵💫🤞🏻
Why aren't you doing the short?
Supporting actress is so tough. The Color Purple seems dead so I can't see how they'd nominate Danielle Brooks. I wish I knew if Danielle Brooks or Rosamund Pike was the third pick from the BAFTA membership. I think it was Pike based on the rumors that the Academy is buzzing about Saltburn so I am predicting her to get in over Brooks. Then I'm tempted to put in Penelope Cruz over Jodie Foster but the Academy loves Jodie Foster. Ahhh...
Would love for Pike to get in.
Charles Melton NEEDS this nomination.
What's for dinner today ??? No burger Nyad? 2 out of 2 nomination
Greta Gerwig has never gotten a Best Director nomination at BAFTA but she did get one at the Oscars. This miss does not seem to affect it all that much in my eyes.
Origin may, will be the big 😡 showing up IMHO in 3 places.
Don't fel too awful about your VFX picks. I was surprised to see your 5 match mine precisely... even in the same order. So we're either both up a creek or this is one of those great minds logic things out alike scenarios.
Barrino has BAFTA, Bening has SAG, Lee has neither but she is ahead of them lol? Bias much?
Hes Asian. Of course he's gonna rep the Asians. He was non stop about Yeoh even tho he admitted Blanchett was better
@@SoulKnightKing I am Asian too but I certainly do not share the same bias. Prediction is about accuracy and personal bias should not be in the mix.
@@NeverLetMeGo777 my respects 🙏🏻
Dude it’s called making a prediction.
Probably because Lee is still in a best picture contender. Fantasia and Bening aren’t.
I’ve got a feeling that the hunger games song might make it, Olivia Rodrigo is big and they might wanna have her there performing. I’m not sure it’s just a guess
Bro pick mission impossible I know they are going to win this
Couldn't care less about the Oppenheimer or Maestro giveaway but goddamn i need that May December t-shirt
Didn't they snub Giamatti for sideways? He's kinda playing the same guy in the holdovers. I don't think the critics choice is gonna affect anything this year. The academy are too stuck up, and to award the guy playing J Robert Oppenheimer is right up their street. If Bradley had won the globes, they would have gone with him though. I guess we have to see what SAG does. Also Keaton lost because he was up against a biopic performance.
Dude godzilla minus one enough said
How is the flash even on the list?
I was wondering the same thing 🤭
Greetings from Japan. I love this channel. I have my own prediction on my channel!
Good video! Thank you!
I just hope Poor Things wins all the major awards. It deserves it more than all the other potential nominees.
I will scream in rage if Gerwig is left out. This biggest film of the year with a good amount of both above and below the line likely noms would NOT possibly be the film it is without her. Other than BAFTA she's been everywhere else.
You have Saltburn just outside on every category it would be considered for. Hoping it gets at least one nomination - it would be awful to completely leave it out
you're sooo right! Barbie is one of the frontrunners in a bunch of categories, but, still, it might miss out. Also, there is a pretty good chance that Triet also misses out, which would make an only male line up out of it.
But she didn't deserved it. It made tons of money yes, but it's sooo overrated
@@ChrolliForeverin your opinion
@@RS-qc4tgLike yours is.
@@ChrolliForever There’s a lot in there that she juggles really well. I think it deserves directing over screenplay
the amount of questions i would get for having julianne moore and natalie portman on my back
