I should clarify, not only was this made for fun (and by no means is expected to be a series), but it was done using AI. Robert Culp died several years ago, and his voice is irreplaceable. As a voice actor, I do not condone using AI voices for projects. The only reason I used it is because Breen’s voice is so uniwue

I like the added detail of Dr. Breen saying that people ought to follow their instincts. It's in contrast with canonical Breencasts in Half-Life 2 where he says the exact opposite, that instinct is man's enemy and must be "fought tooth and nail". Breen has zero integrity, he'll say or do whatever he has to in order to live comfortably on top, so this is still within his true character.

fun fact: the black mesa research facility is area 9, like how there is area 51, there is area 9, which means you can't just "get" hired, you have to be classified and have permission to even step FOOT on the property.
RIght, but this is a mockup of an introductory video if you WERE to be hired.
Well technically that cannot be true. Area 51 is in reference to a NTTR designation. Meaning Nevada Test and Training Range. These were special designations related to N2S2 and NNSS test site codes. Many but not all were specifically used for nuclear bomb testing while others involved weapons, aircraft and personnel testing and research. The Black Mesa Research Facility canonically is located in New Mexico so it wouldn't have a site designation related to the NTTR, N2S2 or NNSS. The similarities between Black Mesa and Area 51 are not a canonical statement of a site designation code but more so to do with the fact the game was going to take place at Area 51 but that was changed early in development to avoid being clique and to avoid limiting where the story could go.

As a fan of DDLC, I immediately saw the Base64 text you put down there.

0:15 I love the Schizo-Tech contrast of showing the high-tech labs with the mass spectrometer, supercomputers, state of the art lab equipment, and it's all presented on a static-y retro video screen with low resolution like it's been played from a VHS tape. It's very 90s except something feels off, almost like time has moved forward, yet still remained in the past.

Man I love this guy named Wallace Breen. He would make a great world leader some day.
Oh this is such a nice piece of creepy half-life atmosphere that is vert rarely brought up by questions like: "If so many emploeyes known such thing, how that could have happened?". This instruction video feels almost like something out of Penumbra series, in a good way, with it's "The Shelter" and the Archaic caste.
This is a solid 10 from me.
Someone should do something like this, but with Caroline and Aperture.

Lore of Black Mesa Employee Welcome Tape (1990) momentum 100
I would like to see a Black Mesa spinoff set in a random city a few dozen km away from Black Mesa, to see the starts of the effects of the incident on the outside world. How the evacuation happens, how the first portal storms ravage the State, etc.
Interesting, Cortez New Mexico seems to be the best place for it.

WOW, I've been seeing a lot of creepy Fnaf VHS Video's, but seeing creepy Half Life VHS's is really cool to see! I can't wait to see a more Black Mesa VHS's 😅.
This is some awesome stuff right here!! You should continue this and make an analogue horror series based on half-life. I would love to see footage from security cameras of the residence cascade happening, or radio conversations of HECU talking. Stuff like that.

2019: the events of half-life Alyx happened.
2024: the events of half-life 2 and its episodes happened. (half-life Alyx post credit scene when Alyx saved her father Eli by killing the advisor)
2074: the events of portal 2 happened.
the events of half life 1 were on may 16th 2000-2003 around there
half life 2 took place in around 2020-2023 as its 20 years after half life 1
half life alyx took place in 2015-2018 as its 5 years before half life 2
the combine invasion took place right after half life 1

The similarities between Lost and Half-Life.
I've always wondered why there isn't a lot of Analog Horror for both Black Mesa and Aperture Science.
Both are very sketchy companies, especially Aperture, and both had great potential for Analog Horror. Still waiting for a "Giant Mantis Men Research Tapes" for Portal.

The analog horror elements felt a bit forced I feel like it would've been creepier if it only said "do not question anything" and "accept injections".
I think you missed the implication.
It’s implied that someone recorded over the tape by mistake with some security camera footage that was meant to be archived. It’s not supposed to be a ‘glitch’. Someone made a mistake.
And it said ‘do not question anything you’re told not to’, as in, if they say stop asking, stop asking.
