I like Troy's paintbrush holster! That really is some gorgeous fan art. I don't know if the Acolyte quest is really plausible. You're having enough trouble keeping the mood of some of your own colonists above 30%; a cranky demanding acolyte will be even harder, even if you get her the nice bedroom she demands. Added to the thread of mechanoids, which you really aren't prepared to deal with, this might not be the time.
pete can deal with two mech clusters just fine, and in the end who cares about the mood of the acolyte. she will come already equipped with her clothes, and if the situation becomes dire she can always be drowned in psychite tea. About the mood of his colonists, that's not true. For now everyone is in a stable high mood. The only thing that could make the quest not worth it is the treatment quality needed to efficiently tend to blood rot. If herbal medicine is enough then sure, but if it requires actual medicine then I'd say no.

I don't think taking that quest is a good idea. Keeping royals happy can be very tricky if you're not 100% prepared, not to mention the mechanoid clusters. Given how lightly armored most of your colonists are, you're one lucky burst from a charge turret away from a colonist death. In my opinion, you'll only be relatively safe dealing with this after you get your hands on a smoke launcher.

Yeah, it's awesome. Does anyone have a link to Tofu's art page or anything? I don't see anything here, and it's a hard name to google. Unless I've missed a recent change, the disease isn't contagious at all. But it does chew through medicine. But you are right, the double mech cluster is too high risk right now. Especially with only one medic, even if he beats it, poor Redmond is going to be so busy patching people up after, the chances are the bloodrot will come back to bite if she falls behind on it. If Pete reads it, don't dismiss the quest though, leave it open. If you get a big raid, you can make them fight the mechs for you.

For the acolyte quest, I'd actually be really interested in seeing you tackle the questline of getting Steak to the highest royal favor/honor and getting off the rimworld like that. While perhaps not a good idea to start that here with this particular quest, it's still a route I"d be excited to see you take in this playthrough. If you decide to go that route but don't start it here, the eltex helmet and vest could be great fun to make Steak a psychic powerhouse, so that's the other one I would be interested in.
As always, loved the episode. For Hospital Rooms I usually make doors on each side of the building, it can gain precious seconds in bloody emergencies. Thanks for all you produce 11/10

Tofu's art really does a good job of capturing the detail and personality of the pawns. Edmo could be drawn as a sad-sack (with the unrequited love, mental breaks, joy-wire, balding, Troy's mockery, etc.) but his positive side has been portrayed here - tough, a great fighter and a productive worker. And I wouldn't have remembered a detail like the shield belt.
I tried my best to capture every important detail that makes the pawn a character. I'm glad that everyone noticed it and seems to like and agree with the direction I went for each pawn. Thank you for your compliment too.
"You can't have enough food" So uh...storytime. In my first rw playtrough, I actually got to a point where I had too many corpses. I had a gigant freezer, but also a hunter with 17 skill and a sniper and my only cook had no leg. My cook had to constantly butcher, because there was no storage for meat and corn. Of course I couldn't starve because pawns can eat raw food. I got killed due to a rocket
Tofu's Edmo artwork looks badass. Regarding the acolyte quest, I believe that it would not be a wise idea to accept it. The diseased acolyte would burn though medicine supplies, they would have to stay in the little prison room for the time being, and the mechanoid raids can potentially seriously hurt your colonists.
21 Days is way too long of a time to keep a sick royal pawn happy. Mystery traits is the kicker, maybe she will be sanguine, maybe a tortured artist. Sterile tiles is dope choice though, Troy deserves a good lab as well.
I like to put the research table into the hospital, saves on sterile tiles and if someone is bed-bound they can chat with the researcher. Also I'm using a mod that makes pawns clean the room before starting a task in it, I think it's called something like "common sense" ;) That means the hospital gets cleaned regularly by the researcher, so it's clean when you need it. (Unless my researcher cannot do cleaning jobs the lazy b*tard...)
min 5:40, you can place spike traps on the left side on the sand. Enemies will avoid soft sand because it will slow down even more and they will take the quickest path to that chokepoint which you can use. Also place a roof on top of the killbox, the darkness will slow down even more enemy advances.
Might be a good idea to swap your workshop and hospital around. Having your hospital close to your killbox can make all the difference. Probably a good idea to double wall the area between if you do.
Pete convinced me to buy this game. I put 20+ hours into my first colony over the first weekend I’ve owned it and it’s still going strong. I’m not subjecting myself to the intense difficulties and yet I still end up fires to put out on the regular. 10/10 would crashland on the Rim again
A smoke pop belt or smoke launcher could have all but eliminated the risk that mech cluster posed. You likely could have waited to get one, or for a raid to fight the cluster, given it had no activator. Also consider not resolving that forced weather event - rainy thunderstorms reduce ranged accuracy outside (but you can roof the killbox for that and that can be a benefit when ambushed and trying to run) but they also increase windspeed and ensure that it never drops to 0. This basically turns Wind Turbines into Geothermal Generators that can be placed anywhere.
Light killboxes are reasonable in vanilla, especially in a map like this. I'm personally fond of a Castle approach, where mods let you build walls that you can shoot through, making a wall that enemies have to siege. That doesn't work in a flat map though, or without mods to allow some level of your troops fighting back from behind the wall(with siege weapons or murder holes).
Great video! Lots of fun and the added art from tofu make this much more enjoyable. The characters have more... character. Still love the ice sheet series
I wonder if Steak ever looks at Redhawk and hums “turrets to the left of me, traps to the right, here I am stuck in the middle with you”. Because that’s a pretty groovy tune. This message brought to you by Random Quarantine Thoughts 2020.
Troy's new statue is hilarious to consider - it's Troy depicted in despair over a hoopstone ring in a village, depicting suffering. Furthermore, "This portrayal refers to Troy enjoying himself at a hoopstone ring." You know, I don't know if "enjoying" is the word I'd use in the context of the rest of that description.
Loving the new series, Pete! I say go for the Acolyte challenge, on one condition: If you just have to keep her AVERAGE mood above 30% over the 21 days, it should be manageable. But if you instantly fail if she dips to 29% for a single tick, there's just no way, especially with blood rot, a heatwave, nonstop rain, and rebuffing four boys all day. Put her in Edmo's bedroom (sorry, Ed), give her light duties and the occasional taste of flake. Acolytes won't clean if they're conceited, but assuming she's not incapable of many other tasks, you get an extra pair of hands, some mechanoid scrap in your killbox, and an extra pawn to replace whichever lad you send to fight off three guinea pigs and destroy the weather controller. Whether you take it or not, I'm looking forward to hearing your own risk/reward calculations. Of the rewards I'd lean towards the honor for Steak's own acolyte title. Jake could really use Word of Joy.
I wouldn't worry too much about taking advantage of exploits. One of the things that got me invested in this series was seeing different strategies you employ, and other things I learned for my playthroughs. So the sandbag corners and killbox design for instance, super useful info.
I don't think the quest is worth the hassle so I would say it is better to skip it unless you feel a need for another psychic user. In terms of base improvements I mentioned in the last video it is possible to get a sealed of kitchen. Which can be kept clean if you move the doors to the slaughter room one block to the right. You would have enough space to put a wall and door in to make a sealed of room. If you then swap you butcher table with the cooker that would give you an out of the way kitchen that will be easier to keep clean
Tofu has talent and passion, wonder if Tofu is shipping people. I am kind of interested in seeing the way it's going to play out with Edmo when he levels up along the royal hierarchy, but so far trying to accommodate an acolyte might be too much.
Take the quest, food is the number one enemy for this challenge and youre rolling in it, you have medics in training, and i think you absolutely could do it for that phat reward loving this series been watching since ice sheet!
I agree with the majority that taking that quest may be a bit too risky. If the power gets knocked out to create darkness or the royal isn't otherwise completely happy, it could result in a failure as it goes, never mind the mechanoid clusters - and they may very well be more difficult than the one in this episode. As per additional expansion? I personally feel it may be a good idea to expand your cooking and refrigeration set-up - your current stocks may be sufficient at the time, but it never hurts to have some extra food on ice, never mind keeping your kitchen less cluttered with raw foodstuffs or meat that could cause food poisoning. It may work well, perhaps even double-insulated, to the south of its current position, just to the left of the future geothermal power station - a power station that could provide power for a good deal of the hydroponic farms, coolers, and stoves you may need!
I don't know how YT algorithm works with you. You don't post RW every day like most players but when you do, every subscriber stops and watch it all. Awesome content and really relaxing. Not for long though. Wealthy is going up...
Great content as usual, small suggestion: You should think about moving the Wind Turbines 1 tile down/south. Their building hitbox is slightly larger than it seems. With your current setup, pawns can't walk betwen the wall and the turbine. If you construct the second row of turbines, this will be even more of an issue, because your pawns wouldn't be able to pass the turbines at all.
To be fair you nail all these games by playing very strategically. I think it would be fun to see you handle these tough challenges where you are not sure wether or not you can succeed. You know ofcourse that Rimworld is also set-up to adequately deal with failure and losses so from the series perspective it would be interesting to see how you would handle that.
Turns out, if you write the word algorithm, the algorithm does not “read” the comment. If your just commenting to help the channel, don’t mention algorithm, tax, guns, politics, death, hate, sex, or god. Those are auto blacklist to any mathematics involved in boosting the channel.
you should make a war veil with the hyper weave, it covers the whole head and gives 40% sharp protection. Could be good on Edmo so he doesn’t get scarred in the face
Regarding creativity inspiration, I prefer spending it on some recreational item if possible. Preferably a jade pool table, a legendary one has like 240% recreation speed or something and is immensely beautiful, the whole colony profits from that. And it's dexterity play, so it increases shooting skill for when my crafter gets an inspiration for a weapon ;) The second creative inspiration of a builder goes to a wooden double bed, maybe a royal one, to reduce sleeping time of two colonists. Seating for your researcher is also nice, but you can get that by just having your builder create armchairs for a couple days and deconstruct the ones below excellent... (There's even a mod for that, something like "quality construction" I think, that also ensures only the best builder takes that task)
Let me know if we should take the Acolyte quest and how you would improve the base further! In the meantime, enjoy the episode, as we expand our base with a proper, turret-powered defense setup, new bed rooms, a relocation of our throne-common-dining room and the construction of a small hospital. ► Full Playlist: bit.ly/39ogWJb

That mechanoid cluster play was absolutely perfect.
I really do enjoy this series. Thank you so much.
Pete: *starts researching drug refining
Me: i dont like where this is going
Everyone else: Yes, yes, yes!
It really makes my dad when these pop up 😁
Makes your dad what? Don't leave us hanging!
@@tennoheika94 these episodes have cloning abilities
Great art, Tofu!
Tofu has talent and passion, wonder if Tofu is shipping people. I am kind of interested in seeing the way it's going to play out with Edmo when he levels up along the royal hierarchy, but so far trying to accommodate an acolyte might be too much.
Take the quest, food is the number one enemy for this challenge and youre rolling in it, you have medics in training, and i think you absolutely could do it for that phat reward
loving this series been watching since ice sheet!
wow the fanart is really awsome!
The FanArt looks fantastic.
Just binge watched all 23 eps
Good stuff, I love your pacing
So many playthroughs drag on so long, it gets boring
Keep it up man
belated comment for the algorithym. And to support one of the best rimworld series there is on youtube.
Jake: *digs up corpse*
Edmo: Been there, done that, buddy.
Love those fan arts, surely looking forward to more of this series, too. :)
Omg, crossover from my 2 favourite Rimworld players!
You uploaded this film on 23:40 nice just before sleep. Now I have to watch it before sleep
Pick the armor and jade, by far the most valuable.
Ive just caught up to your series, I think it’s great! You have such a fantastic voice to listen to!
Love the fan art
I don't know how YT algorithm works with you. You don't post RW every day like most players but when you do, every subscriber stops and watch it all.
Awesome content and really relaxing. Not for long though. Wealthy is going up...
Great content as usual, small suggestion: You should think about moving the Wind Turbines 1 tile down/south. Their building hitbox is slightly larger than it seems. With your current setup, pawns can't walk betwen the wall and the turbine. If you construct the second row of turbines, this will be even more of an issue, because your pawns wouldn't be able to pass the turbines at all.
Duuuude.... ToFu really knocking it out of the park for the second time. With art like that, I'm suddenly a lot more of a fan of Edmo.
Pete keep up the good work lad!!!
Aww yeah Friday morning just got a whole lot better!
dont mind me just commenting for the algorithim
Turns out, if you write the word algorithm, the algorithm does not “read” the comment.
If your just commenting to help the channel, don’t mention algorithm, tax, guns, politics, death, hate, sex, or god.
Those are auto blacklist to any mathematics involved in boosting the channel.

An amazing episode as always!
you should make a war veil with the hyper weave, it covers the whole head and gives 40% sharp protection. Could be good on Edmo so he doesn’t get scarred in the face
The next Edmo's fanart should be really cool.
Regarding creativity inspiration, I prefer spending it on some recreational item if possible. Preferably a jade pool table, a legendary one has like 240% recreation speed or something and is immensely beautiful, the whole colony profits from that. And it's dexterity play, so it increases shooting skill for when my crafter gets an inspiration for a weapon ;)
The second creative inspiration of a builder goes to a wooden double bed, maybe a royal one, to reduce sleeping time of two colonists. Seating for your researcher is also nice, but you can get that by just having your builder create armchairs for a couple days and deconstruct the ones below excellent... (There's even a mod for that, something like "quality construction" I think, that also ensures only the best builder takes that task)
It would be really cool if pete makes a series completing the witcher 3 100%. Keep up the good work pete, I'm really liking your videos.
