Wow, fantastic video of the Mustangs. Just a few years ago we had 4 Mustangs in the garage, one was a 66 Shelby and a Boss 302. Lost interest in them and sold them off after the passing of my father. He was a 30’s guy, so I started looking at them and today I have the 31 400A and 35 Tudor that is a true survivor car. My first car was a 67 Mustang almost like the rustang in the display, but that was in 76. Now I’m playing Grandpa with the oldies. KY Ken
Thanks for the tour. I owned a 1973 Ford Mustang Mach 1 the same color as the one in your video. It was an ok car but had poor suspension like all the old Mustangs for curvy roads. Paid $1,500 cash for it years ago. Went to Pontiac Trans Am's after this.
Amazing how that poor 289 cuin Mustang suspension won the SCCA B Production championship in 65,66 & 67 beating Chevrolets 327 cuin B Production Corvettes. Of course Mustang also beat Camaro in Transam for 67 they lost in 68 due to bad engines from Ford. I've had and raced 4 Vettes 2 Camaros 2 Shelbys and 15+ Mustangs I know of what I speak. But I will agree by 73 Ford had turned the Mustang into an overweight pig and the EPA had killed any performance that could have saved it. The early Camaro/Firebird suffer from severe chassis flex with their bolt on front subframe and the inherent understeer that GM engineered into all their cars after the Corvair debacle.
@@brettmacdonald6777 After 44 years of working for Ford, GM, and Chrysler I still prefer the GM designs, not racing but for everyday driving, repair, and maintenance. But sometimes it comes down to what is needed at the time so my current vehicle is a 2000 Ford Econoline RV Van and probably my last vehicle but if I was able to have one of my old cars back I would still pick the 1978 Trans Am and if buying new it would be a Corvette, not a Mustang.
Back in the day a “friend” was selling me his 65 Fastback with hopped up 289 for $300 it was smoking bad when I went to pick it up he sold it for $50 more.
Ahhh I see you have fallen into the auction house trap of calling those Muscle Cars. That type of car - Mustang, Camaro, Barracuda, Challenger, Cougar, Firebird were all known as Pony Cars. Named after the Mustang that started it all. Muscle Cars were created by John DeLorean when he stuffed a big block engine into a Tempest - that became the GTO and any mid size car with a big block was a Muscle Car - Road Runner, GTX, Torino, Malibu, etc. But the auction houses found out people are willing to spend more money on a macho Muscle Car than defining it as a Pony Car that Ford originally targeted for sales to secretaries.
Thanks Tina!

Great view. If you guys want to checkout a great museum you need to checkout the Cobra Experience in Martinez, CA. It would make a great drive to day
