It’s so rare that I get to add something missed in a video like this. While building certain buildables (foundations, walls, ramps, etc), hold E to bring up the selection wheel. Then you can tap RMB or LMB to cycle through the materials they can be made out of (Ficsit metal, concrete, asphalt, etc)
Ohhhh this a great one! Totally forgot it because I'm usually only building with one material but this is an amazing one. Hearting it so it gets pinned near the top!
For some reason it doesn't work for me. It just acts normal, trying to place the splitter above or below. I've checked and there are no belts attached to it at the time. I also can't find and empty keybinding in settings. I'd love this to work.
@@SyncShot It doesn't work if you want to update splitter with another splitter. I'd also love this to work when I mess up with the inputs and outputs.
@@flo9540 I "pinged" the space elevator by holding down the alt key and left clicking on it. #9 - hold E to pick up the flora. Note that if your mouse has a bush highlighted, you hold E, and then you press TAB once, you can let go of E and just run around collecting plants auto-magically. You can run and jump and shoot your gun and the effect doesn't go away until you press E again. It's very freeing!
Thats the key for hiding the hud, so can be used in a similar way for deconstructing and just generally hiding the keybindings shown on screen when building, deconstructing, and a few other things.
You can reload any weapon by left clicking as well, if you are out of ammo for it. My top tip when using the rebar gun is to double left click to shoot and then instantly reload.
Good call! Coming from shooter games, I would more consider that auto-reload (the gun reloading when you try to fire from an empty magazine) so I wasn't really considering it as a keybind.
In the to-do list, if you highlight the numbers for how many buildings you want, you can enter the number directly without having to manually click the plus or minus button.
When interacting with a machine or bench that shows "relevant items" above your inventory, pressing 1-9 (and possibly also 0) transfers that item to the machine's relevant slot. (e.g. inserting raw material, Power Shards or Somersloops)
My friend and I wasted so much time flipping splitters and mergers from blueprints to fit the situation, dismantle+rebuild is so tedious. Holding ctrl to replace them made me feel so stupid xD Thanks for the great video!
If there are belts attached it can get a little weird, because it tries to match the input/output direction, so it's easier if there are no belts attached.
Great video!!! I didn't catch a single breath, and I certainly listened for them lol I recently bought a USB triple foot pedal for satisfactory. It basically just replicates whatever buttons you assign it to. Left is brake/ backup, center is sprint forward and right is jump. It makes for those long drives or long runs across the map nearly hands-free. I even have perfected slide jump with it now 😊
I can't breathe with you around!! That sounds incredibly cool. I've been pondering one of those USB pedals for stuff like muting Discord and stuff, but those keybinds sound incredibly useful for a long play session!
#46.5: When building a power pole or power outlet, hold Ctrl and click on a power line. Then left click to place the pole or outlet. The pole or outlet will be inserted in between the poles that are connected by the power line you clicked on, and will automatically connect to the other poles.
@@SatisfactoryNews there is a game option "one click build" intended to build belts with one click, and thus having to do all adjustents to its end while still holding the mousebutton. the same option also effects how you do this "build a power connection in the middle of a cable", and thus you might end up with (apparently) randomly placed poles if you only click without holding while selecting the new target location. another tip said to press R to reload. i just noticed that the game now also automatically reloads if you are out of ammo (just shot your rebar, emptied the magazin, or threw the dynamite) and press the fire button. no need to swich back and forth between "fire" and R, but simply one exra click on "fire" when you use that button anyway during a fight. "R" is only needed to reload early (when the magazin is not yet empty), and "holding R" is only needed to select a different type of ammo.

I feel so stupid right now. I’m at 560 hours playtime and haven’t even heard of the dismantle filter. It also took me a whooping 500 hours to find out about nudging (my friend told me)
Some seriously good stuff in here I didn't know about. Thank you! Here are some things I think you missed that may have been worth mentioning: - Supports. Click once, to lock it in place, and then look up/down/scroll wheel to adjust angles and height. - Map markers - Jetpack tap - Parachute gliding on sloped geometry - More on Blueprints (toolbar, editor, categories, deleting from blueprint tab, etc) - Additional info for stamps. They get placed where you're crosshair is aiming at. Using photomode in conjuction with this makes tagging things super clutch. (Thank you for the hold alt to view/interact with stamps trick!)
Great video, thank you for this, I certainly learned some new stuff :) I have a little addition for collecting wood and leaves: You can press E while looking at some wood or leaves to collect them, keep holding E, then tab into and out of your inventory. Now you can release E and keep collecting wood and leaves without needing to hold E. This even continues to work after some actions like disassembling buildings once your hand is free again. But to collect beryl nuts, loose items near crash sites etc. you need to press E separately, which breaks the E hold for the wood and leaves.
I know ALL of them and more. One special tip: It's possible to build an existing blueprint without searching the build in the menu or the hotbar. 1. Click F for dismantling 2. I will add here one specific trick I learned from early speedruns almost nobody knows about, but it’s super handy. Anytime you see a suggestions slots UI (when you open your inventory and you have equipment you can use, when you open machine UI and you have items that go to inputs and so on) you can use 1-10 keys on top of your keyboard to select them. I use it all the time. Early game, when I need manually load parts/biomass, I just go to machine and press 1 or 2, when I want to launch pod to open new milestone, or I have jetpack and hoverpack, while I’m mid-air, I just open inventory, press 1, it switches one on the other and I can continue to fly. The order of appearing items in suggestions slots are the same as in you inventory.
The reverse of the scroll wheel is amazing, I never even thought to check in the settings for this as many devs do not include toggles for simple things! Thank you so much
Didn't see this mentioned but, if you select blueprint dismantle mode, then with the blueprint highlighted, you can middle mouse mouse button (copy building) to select the blueprint to build.
When building power lines, if you connect a line to a building or power pole and then aim at the ground, you can build a new pole already connected to that building/pole, it also works with power towers (clicking the top will build a new tower, clicking the bottom will build a pole) If you select a power pole/tower and click at an existing cable, you can then place it and it'll be connected to said cable

if you placed a blueprint and want to place it again but you dont have it selected, press F, set it to blueprint mode, select a blueprint for deletion, then press middle mouse button to select that blueprint to place more of it. i also love how there isnt a single button to exit any menu so when i accidentally open a menu mid jet pack use i spam the escape button a lot in a blind panic.
8:25 I didn't know about the 66th tip I also didn't realize you could change some of the settings that you mentioned, like the scrolling of the weapons
It really seems like the developers considered everyone's preferences when making this game! The default scroll direction for weapons is the opposite of what I expect it to be, so that's a really nice setting to have, for me.
@@SatisfactoryNews visually I don't think it would work but since the mouse wheel is north to south kind of using a compass setting it would be nice if the icons were North and South as well on the screen or up and down instead of side to side going from side to side with an up and down motion is what's throwing me off I think the most
I discover one by accident recently, when in the menu of a machine if you have the input in your inventory and wanna transfer to the machine just press 1, no need to shift+click the item
Here is another one i found out. If you hold ctrl while placing a belt, it will disable the belt locking to whatever input/output is near the position you are looking at. Basicallyit lets you set up a new belt next to a splitter/merger, without having to set up the conveyor pole first

Not really keybinds but in satisfactory the snapping mechanic of conveyor lifts is rather generous with the ability to hook a conveyor lift from the ground infinitely up as long as it is into a floor hole, as well as merging the lift literally inside buildings and splitters making for more compact factories. Also not a keybind but as an explosive enjoyer i did some experimenting with nobelisks and my findings are as such; pulse nobelisks are the best form of transportation, nobelisks don't deal damage through many buildables including my favourite, floor holes (cover up bombs like a manhole cover), a melee weapon will detonate all nobelisks regardless of whether you intend to hit them or not as long as they are within a 1 foundation radius of the player when you hit any surface and finally nobelisks of course attach to entities like stingers but also attach to moving parts on factories but the moving parts often have strange collisions like the rotating drum on the awesome sink. Anyway i hope you enjoyed my near useless findings because i sure enjoyed finding them then yapping to any random internet stranger patient enough to read this entire paragraph, thank you bye bye now.

if you placed a blueprint and want to place it again but you dont have it selected, press F, set it to blueprint mode, select a blueprint for deletion, then press middle mouse button to select that blueprint to place more of it. i also love how there isnt a single button to exit any menu so when i accidentally open a menu mid jet pack use i spam the escape button a lot in a blind panic.
Hahaha I talk about the "no consistent exit button" thing all the time! After 5 years I still flail around in menus.
8:25 I didn't know about the 66th tip
I also didn't realize you could change some of the settings that you mentioned, like the scrolling of the weapons
It really seems like the developers considered everyone's preferences when making this game! The default scroll direction for weapons is the opposite of what I expect it to be, so that's a really nice setting to have, for me.
@@SatisfactoryNews visually I don't think it would work but since the mouse wheel is north to south kind of using a compass setting it would be nice if the icons were North and South as well on the screen or up and down instead of side to side going from side to side with an up and down motion is what's throwing me off I think the most
One to add to the list, when in build mode Tap E to cycle through available options instead of holding E to enter radial wheel
Basicallyit lets you set up a new belt next to a splitter/merger, without having to set up the conveyor pole first
So you can actually replace mergers and splitters
Ctrl+Win+Alt+Shift+L can be useful for some
Its crazy that this is a shortcut in Windows. Thanks!
Try Ctel+Win+Alt+Shift+T.
hahahaha wtf why is that a windows shortcut??!
@@SatisfactoryNewsOn new Microsoft laptops, there is an Office key. If your computer doesn't have an Office key, it can be replaced by Ctrl+Win+Alt+Shift. And then you can start all MS Office Applications. W for Word, X for Excel, P for PowerPoint, O for Outlook, L for Linkedin and T for Teams. There are a couple more I can't remember right now.
In the quick search menu (n) you can also type in numbers with symbols to create math problems and it’ll solve it which is a cool but not terrible useful little thing
you missed one: instead of pressing R to cycle between build modes, you can also hold R pressed to bring up a radial menu to select a build mode from it. This goes for all uses of R where you cycle through options.
If you hold E to pick up leaves while holding E if you press tab twice you can release E and still pick up leaves as you run.
While using the parachute, hold shift to move faster - kind of like running. You can make longer distances holding shift.
I think I did that one, number 67! The parachute is so good now.
@@SatisfactoryNews you did. Good job. That’s what I get for commenting before I finish a video. 😂
I knew most of the more obscure ones, but I didn’t know about alt-right-click to create stamps in first person. I’ve being doing that from the map screen when I find something (usually something I can’t scan for yet).
The stamps thing is quite cool
#2 really opened up the game for me.
Didn't you open up the game by left-clicking on the "PLAY" button in Steam or Epic? 😊
Took me years to figure out.
#2 = 🤯
that's so much better than banging my face on the keyboard, it's almost too easy to play now.
Wait what since when can we revive each other? 😅 Also Alt Right for Stamps on the go i didn't know. Big thx 4 All the Videos you've done lately and all time ❤
Thank YOU for watching! I appreciate the comment!
Replacing Splitters was new to me.
When overclocking (or under-) you can click on the orange numbers (the absolute or the relative percentages one) to type new Numbers.
You can even do Math right in there! Just type "250/5" and you get 50.
the zipline lock was a new thing..
Not really keybinds but in satisfactory the snapping mechanic of conveyor lifts is rather generous with the ability to hook a conveyor lift from the ground infinitely up as long as it is into a floor hole, as well as merging the lift literally inside buildings and splitters making for more compact factories.
Also not a keybind but as an explosive enjoyer i did some experimenting with nobelisks and my findings are as such;
pulse nobelisks are the best form of transportation, nobelisks don't deal damage through many buildables including my favourite, floor holes (cover up bombs like a manhole cover), a melee weapon will detonate all nobelisks regardless of whether you intend to hit them or not as long as they are within a 1 foundation radius of the player when you hit any surface and finally nobelisks of course attach to entities like stingers but also attach to moving parts on factories but the moving parts often have strange collisions like the rotating drum on the awesome sink.
Anyway i hope you enjoyed my near useless findings because i sure enjoyed finding them then yapping to any random internet stranger patient enough to read this entire paragraph, thank you bye bye now.
You can revive each other?!
I figured this would be one a lot of people wouldn't know!
For some reason the hold Cntrl for replacing splitters/mergers doesn't work for me. It just acts normal, trying to place the splitter above or below. I've checked and there are no belts attached to it at the time. I also can't find and empty keybinding in settings. I'd love this to work.
Definitely didn't know about the fact there were multiple hotbars.
438hrs in and I just learned that you can hold Ctrl + left click to replace mergers and splitters
@satisfactoryNews with reference to E holding to pick up leaves/wood. Hold E, press Tab to open inventory, release E and press tab again to close inventory. now simply walk/ run around and it will automatically continue to pick up leaves and wood automatically.
I love this "bug". I wonder if they'll ever remove it.
Hope you add to the Zoop, the Scoop!!!
I want to able to bluid a zone of 5x5 in an instant too !!!
That's what blueprints are for! Just make a blueprint of foundations.
@@SatisfactoryNews 1. BP are still breaking peoples games, im on the discord all the days telling them how to fix it. 2. I would need an absorbitant amount of them for each ocasion... i mean... 2x1, 2x2, 2x3, 2x4, 2x5... etc. Its not a viable soluton now.
I found one peculiar sequence - if you are in blueprint dismantle mode and clicking middle mouse, it copies whole blueprint!
Thanks, definately gonna use that one!
Bruh i didn't know you could replace splitters too. I've been dismantling them to replace them.
Also you should've mentioned where the screenshots from photo mode are saved. They're in "C:/Users//Documents/My Games/FactoryGame/Screenshots".
9. E (Hold) has me screaming. So many wood/leaf gathering missions spent mashing E....
It's a painful one to learn, thinking of all the wasted keypresses 😭
Even better for this, hold E when looking at wood or bushes then open and close your inventory (double tap TAB) you can then release the E key and auto grab will still be functional. Makes it possible to use the D key again while picking up wood and leaves.
This needs to be reset if you want to pick up Nuts and Berries etc.
How to change the direction of a conveyor belt (not a lift)? It seems to me that it was possible before, but now I can’t find the button...
Use the scroll wheel
newbee here learned a lot but can you tell me how you put up a power pole with the wire already attached
If you build a power line off of something, it will create a power pole at the end of it. I think that's what you're referring to.
Also, if you hit Ctrl while having a power pole equipped and click on a power line, you can then place a new power pole in between the teo old ones. It will basically "insert" the new power pole in between the old ones.
I didn't know you can split stacks with Ctrl(Hold) so i've just been handing out piles of power shards to my friends. Now i know better 😅
Hold right-click, not Ctrl.
It was 50 hours into my current playthrough before I rediscovered that feature.
about reloading weapons you can just left click to reload you don't have to push/tab R
50 cm nudge is crazy ❤
I was hoping to learn something advanced but all these felt like basic controls. But anyway well made info video from basic controls and didnt use zipline much pre 1.0 so opening zipline thing was new to me. I have opened the zipline but havent payed any attention what it does. 🤣
Haha technically there aren't too many advanced "keybinds", I guess if I really wanted to be advanced I'd be straying a little beyond the scope, but I get what you're saying.
I did not know the zipline had a toggle
Is it just me, or when you hold Rclick to split and enter a specific number (like 12) and press 'enter' or Lclick the split button, it splits a different amount? (like 14)
This didn't happen in update 8...
I’ve annoyingly got a habit of when I’m building stuff and want to get out of build mode, I double click right click instead of q
#19 a weekly reddit post
Hahaha it really is! I guess it's just exciting to discover it 😂
After 500 hours i didnt know 46 so tnx
Seems like a lot of people didn't know that!
One thing I wish we had was a way to keybind hot bars
Something like alt+8 takes me to hotbar 8 by default
Mmm yeah instead of having to scroll, that might be nice
You can also reload via left click
I was considering that more akin to an auto-reload mechanic than a hotkey, but you're totally right.
When placing buildables, press T
How do i enter blueprint mode
There is no "blueprint mode". You save a blueprint with the Blueprint Designer, and then it will be in the Blueprint tab of the Build Menu, then you can select and build it just like any normal buildable.
