I love that STEVE McMICHAEL was able to write his own speech! I hope he can now be at peace as an NFL Legend that battled to the very end.
ALS is cruel a disease.
All diseases are cruel...especially GOD.
@@duckling4393
Cool story, Disease.
ALSS = ALS SUCKS
I thought it was spelt CTE
You are so right. God bless that poor man 🙏🙏🙏
Tears watching this. Bust looks great just like him. Bless Mongo and the football gods
Same 💪🏼💪🏼
A 50 year old packer fan here. You deserve and earned every thread in that jacket. It sucked for me to watch you sometimes almost single handly destroy my team. But to watch you play with the heart you have this packer kid couldn't help but love and respect you. Cheers to you mongo
Go away 😭😭
As another Packers fan that was perfectly worded. That defense was legendary. Mongo just made it that much better.
Im a huge bears fan and a packer hater , but that was pretty pretty awsum what u said , and im a 54 yr old bears fan BEAR DOWN BABY!
As much as I hate the Packers and vice versa. Respect. 👊
I met Steve and the Fridge at a nightclub in Chicago suburb years ago. You can't imagine how big these men were. Steve was a beast! 85 Bears were the greatest! Well earned...
Steve's wife, Misty, has to be a very, very special person. Pops took me to my first game when I was ten years old in 1954 at Wrigley. I've lived out west since 1970 but always watch and root for the Bears. Had season tickets to the 49ers, and it always made my day when the Bears came to town. I'm so happy for Steve's family and his teammates.
She seems like a gold digger to me!
@@Phil_M.1987Debra was the gold digger.
@@Phil_M.1987 I agree! I never did like her..she’s so fake.
This is an incredibly touching and personal celebration. As a Packer fan, I have the highest respect and admiration for Steve McMichael and the legendary '85 Bears. This honorable moment brought tears to my eyes. Today, all football fans are Bears fans.
Coming from a Pittsburgh Steelers Fan congrats to Mongo McMichael in his NFL HOF enshrinement. Well deserved honor. God bless him, wife Misty and entire Chicago Bears Family!!
NFL robbed us of hearing his speech when he was still able to speak. Happy he is getting in, but this should have been years ago. LONG overdue.
Part of a long line of players in that category, including Browns G Gene Hickerson, who had an even more ridiculously long wait.
@@bradsullivan2495 Case in point former Cowboys linebacker Chuck Howley who was just enshrined last year and suffers from dementia. They had a video online when they announced he was going in and sadly the man had no clue what was going on. It was truly sad. At least Mongo knew what was going on even if he did not have the ability to express it, but there are too many inductees who either died or were in too bad of shape to actually enjoy the accolade of being enshrined in the HOF.
As a life long BERS FAN, this made me cry to see Mongo like this.
Bless him and his family. He deserve to be there a long time ago 💯
looks like he lost about 60 pounds. RESPECT to football star!
Glad he got to see this moment, Prayers
40-year Bears fan. It was emotional watching Mongo enshrined into the HOF. God bless Mongo and to his family, #76
McMichael looks like how Caleb Williams, D.J. Moore, Odunze, and the rest of the Carebears are gonna look like after the Packers steamroll them! GO PACK GO!!!
@Phil_M.1987 you mean how the packers look when they play the niners in the playoffs
Phil M 1987, are you serious? Thst has to be the most insensitive comment ever! What garbage you have posted. I’m embarrassed for you. Please get a perspective on what is life.
@@Phil_M.1987 Really not the place to be talking smack!
@@Phil_M.1987You think someone dying of a disease is funny? You’re a sick Fuk, rivalry or not, there’s a line you don’t cross and you crossed it you POS. You probably didn’t even play football you troll. Next time when you post a disgusting comment, include your home address so we can see how tough you really are keyboard warrior.
I was in HS in 1985.
I met Steve McMichael at a Mobil gas station in Vernon Hills IL in 1985.
He was with wife Debra and a little chihuahua dog.
He was putting gas in a gray Mercedes.
I said "Hey Man"......he replied , Randy Savage style..."yeahhhhh , woo ooooh!!"
Good times
If anyone says this video did not make them tear up, they aren't human. Steve was an AWESOME member of that daunted Bears defense. He will always have a special place in the NFL! God Bless you Steve!!!
Saw these men play in 81' & 82' at Soldiers Field. I was in high school and those players were Larger than Life! I Love Chicago and I Love Mongo! Congratulations to this HOF Gladiator!
ALS claimed a good friend of mine in2005-- terrible disease; Rev was a big man 6'3" 250lbs. and cared sweetly by his loving5' wife, Peanut. Watched him slowly pass away, but bravely like one of his heroes" Mongo"-- prayers to his family and friends who loved this mighty man who always gave 100%. Thank you for your love of the game.
Heartbreaking to see him now. I will remember him forever another side of the 49er offense!
Exactly
Brings tears to my eyes as a Dolphins fan.
Mongo was truly incredible.
I’m heartbroken and in tears!! I’m not a Bears fan but this is gut wrenching knowing he can’t make a face!! He just looks dead lying in his bed! He was such a beast of a guy and had so much fun with the wrestlers he was around too! We will miss you Mongo!! TOO SWEEEETTTT!!!
That bust is so spot-on.
💯 They did a great job!
It absolutely is. I've been to the HOF. Honestly his bust is the most realistic one in the building.
Lifelong Packer fan here, but Mongo was great - God’s blessings and comfort
As a Packer fan who "loves to hate" the Chicago Bears I am so happy to see Steve McMichael finally get inducted into the HOF. Well deserved and 🙏🏿 for his family.
I can’t help but shed tears of joy. I missed his career but knew him as a wrestler in WCW back in the day and learned about him later in life with the help of RUclips. It’s unfortunate he didn’t get in sooner to represent himself. Hopefully this brings him peace
The Four Horsemen... 😎👍
Seeing Mongo in his condition is really heartbreaking. Lou Gehrig’s disease is a cruel curse.
So emotional. Mongo was one of my heroes while growing up, so much so that I wore #76 my senior year of football in the 80s. The HOF honor is so deserved. Way to go, Mongo....Chicago Bears McMichael #76 will live forever!
Cool story!
Awesome ❤
Had the honor of meeting Steve McMichael at a sports show in Southern California years ago where he autographed a Bears helmet for me with his always beautiful autograph. A huge polite gentleman, congratulations HOF’er!
Browns fan here, always admired Steve. So glad he was able to see this before passing on!!!
Eagles' fan here, much respect to Mongo, ALS is devastating and a horrible disease, but he 100% deserves this honor and enshrinement. Props to the 85 Bears.
Was just watching Nitro 1996 loved seeing Mongo as a WCW wrestler / 4-Horseman
Glad his football career was wayyy better then what professional wrestling has became.
I remember him and Kevin Greene locking arms in the square circle. Bobby Heenan and Tony Schiavone calling his name out as he walked down the ramp . Good times
@@lopezrome1982 nah fr fam..loved when mongo was on WCW commentary 1995.
He brought a different perceptive and Insight. Can't forget his Chihuahua wearing different dog costumes. Good times long live Mongo!!
God bless anyone and their families going through this disease
Brought me to tears.. congratulations Mongo and bear down for ever! “Momma we made it” 🐻⬇️❤️
Wow! Heartbreaking to see him now, remembering his NFL career and his WCW career
Yep, he did well as a wrestler in WCW. He was great on the mic too. Sad to see what this disease did to him.
@@TheRmm1976facts 💯. He was the wild man of the 4 horsemen

Yea it's very sad how a guy that big, athletic, and strong ended up bed ridden, weak and unable to speak.
I'm a Broncos fan, but more than that I'm a football fan!!! I appreciate the hard work and passion for the game... "Mongo" exemplifies that through and through.... Watching his enshrinement and witnessing how fragile he's become breaks my heart and I couldn't help but cry! I'm just happy that he got to experience this!
Everytime I come across the word " _Mongolia_ " I think of Mongo McMichael.
Props to Steve McMichael (one of the few Chicago Sports Legends).
As a fan of old school football, this got me choked up. Steve McMichael was perfectly cast as a DL in the 70s (college) and 80s with the strength, chiseled jaw, long hair, and love for the game. There aren't many of his kind left anymore. Sad seeing him in his current condition as well. Peace, and congratulations! John 3:16 ✝✝
Took way too long so this is extremely bittersweet to see. Bear down, Steve. You made it into the Hall of Fame!
As a Ravens fan, this brings tears to my eyes watching this video seeing Steve McMichael battling ALS, just like OJ Brigance. May God bless them.
I’m a lifelong Miami Dolphins fan. I attended the 1985 Monday Night Game in the Orange Bowl. I had the privilege to see this man play.
He was a key member of the greatest team ever for a single season.
This absolutely breaks my heart. He should have been inducted to the Hall of Fame years ago.
God Bless you Steve.
Mongo , Thank You for the memories thank You for ALL you brought to the Bears and Chicago .
Thanks for everything !
Very well deserved! Awesome DT, nothing but the best Steve McMichael
Met mongo at a convention in Chicago when I was a kid. I was waiting in line for an autograph and in comes Steve walking right next to the people, no security, just smiling giving people high fives and carrying a case of bud bottles in the other hand. By the time I got up to get an autograph he had already finished 4 brews. I had so much stuff with me, cards, helmet, tshirt. Guess I didn’t know autograph etiquette at the time when the lady working for the event said I can only have one thing signed. Steve looked at her and said “Are you kidding me? Even if this kid had 10 more things I’d sign all of them.” He signed my stuff and shook my hand. One of the best moments of my childhood. I’ll always remember that wide grin and laugh. Dude really lived life the way he wanted to. Respect all around.
Was an honor to watch you play Mongo! You epitomized Monsters of the Midway! God bless you brother!
It was nice how he was able to see his bust at home and be inducted there with friends and family. The NFL still does a lot wrong, but no one does the Hall Of Fame better.
The NFL doesn't do the Hall of Fame. That is its own entity. It is called the Pro Football Hall of Fame. There are a few CFL players in the Hall.
I heard "I'm in the Hall of Fame, baby" in Mongo's voice in my head.
Me too in his WCW wrestling voice in my head
Congratulations Steve McMichael Pro Football HOF Prayers 🙏
Congrats Mongo you are loved ❤
Very proud day for Mongos family and friends. Best wishes to Steve, prayers and thoughts. Well done today with Jarod and everyone. Thanks to the Bears and Hall of Fame. ✝️✝️
I'll never forget that year, those players, and my team. Da Bears!!
Remember McDonalds had a collector’s card set of many of the players on that team, and you’d get SOOO excited to see which card you got? And it was your absolute goal to get the entire set?
85 bears greatest defense in the nfl and Mongo was the heart and soul. Congrats Steve
The 1 person missing is the great Walter Payton He would've been so happy
He’s up in the heavens right now with a big smile on his face.
Jarrett getting to enshrine two HOF'ers. Don't know of any others to do that. If there are, it's a small club.
Sweetness the best running back in nfl history .PERIOD
@patrickq7489 he presented his father in 1993 which that brought 😢 of joy to myself now presenting another member of the 85 bears
Hollywood Hogan and Buff Bagwell should be there too!!!
Congratulations to you Steve ..Your HOF is well deserved. So grateful to meet him several times during the 1980's. Im a die hard Bears fan since 1977 Sweetness 275 yrds at Minn. !! I love and RESPECT ALL he players and coaches brought in at that time that turned a bad team into a dominant contender every year in the mid and late 1980's Thank you Jim Finkes !!! Bring back our Honey Bears as well George McCaskey since we haven't won a SB since they cheered us on !!!!
This makes my heart hurt 😢
As someone who grew up in the 80's and 90's it's so hard seeing Mongo McMicheal like this 😢. It really makes you take a closer 🎉look at your life and thank God for health and just being able to still enjoy life.
Before he was Mongo he was Bam-Bam during his days as a Longhorn when I attended UT. Congratulations and Hook Em Steve!🤘🏻🤘🏻
Having watched Mongo through the '80s and in WCW in the '90s, this is so hard to see. Congratulations to him for his accomplishments and best wishes for him and his family.
WE LOVE YOU, MONGO!!
One of the All-Time Greats!
May God bless you #76!!
Thank you for all the great memories!!!
I'd need a shot of Jack Daniels, after the visit.
Mongo, when you're ready brother, Walter , Duerson & Todd Bell are gonna give you the best high 5 EVER!! Congrats & much deserved!
So good to see Mongo surrounded by Family & Teammates/Brothers! ❤
Congrats Steve!
Heartbreaking and emotional to watch but makes you smile because of all the love given to Steve by fans and former teammates….great looking bust, absolutely spot on ….great to see him in the jacket …God bless you Steve
He was a pretty decent Pro Wrestler in his own right too.
Wow …. this really was a tear jerker
❤That was very touching! Much love to Steve from a 62 year old Browns fan and retired social worker. I have been witness to and part of similar health battles during my career. I remember Steve well. He was an absolute wrecking machine and a good man! That defense was the best that I have ever witnessed.
Remember, this man also was a full.time WCW wrestler after his football career was over. He was in the ring eith guys like hogan, flair, savage, sting, NWO, etc.
I miss his voice. Met him once at his restaurant and he was a good dude. Big teddy bear.
In 1985 I lived, ate, and slept for the Bears. I loved Mongo and still do. There’s another reason. My Dad died from ALS in 1992. It was agonizing to watch. My Dad chose not to live to the point that Steve has. He just stopped eating and drinking. I would do the same. Absolutely the very worst way that a human being can die. Love and prayers for Steve.🙏🙏🙏
Mongo was my 2nd favorite Bear behind Sweetness... he was great, would of loved to see him there
As a Lions fan, this was very fitting, well deserved, and awesome to see. Congratulations Mongo!
Prayers and thoughts are with him and his family, glad he is being honored and showed love, respect and appreciate him
Absolutely heartbreaking to see McMichael this absolute NFL warrior struck down like this. Legend has it he used to fight their O linemen every day at practice and he's still fighting as hard as ever now. With the utmost respect and best wishes from a British, Hawks fan.
The greatest moment for all of us fans and his family. Think u for all the great times
Long time overdue !!! I am a Steeler Fan. But Steve. May have been a Bear. 🐻. He played like he was a Steeler !!!! Congratulations 🎉. Everyone knows that you deserve it. !!!! God Bless you and your family. !!!!
Legend...everyone there including the women. This shows how brief life can be. I remember on one occasion watching the Bears in 1985 from a hospital in Hollywood. I was doing volunteer work and 2 really loving parents were tending to their son who was dying of aids. I will never forget the love and compassion they showed him within the 2 or 3 seconds I noticed while passing by. Anyway, every player in McMichael's room was on top of the world and feared throughout the NFL. That was 39 years ago, but in some ways, it feels like it was only a few years ago. Truly, a moment in time.
One outstanding individual and player I grew up in the 60's and watch a lot of football in thr 70's - 80's McMichael was a beast of a player. He always gave 150% on and off the field!! G o d Bless you and your wonderful family!! Congratulations on your way to the Hall of fame!! Well deserved!! From the Papandrea family in simpsonville south Carolina!!!
Steve McMichael was a member of the 1985 Chicago Bears` defense that was simply THE best defensive team I`ve ever watched play the game. I wasn`t really a Bears` fan, but I remember watching their games just to see this devastating defense they had. God bless Steve and his family.
Mongo you tough son of a gun baby!!!! A Cowboys fan here that loved watching you play football and a wrestling fan that enjoyed your time in the ring. So glad you got to see this day 🤘
Well done Mongo. Congratulations to you and family.
This is strange, looks like he lost 60 pounds, RESPECT to NFL legend.
A very emotional and heartbreaking moment 💔
Beautiful speech!! Mongo we love ya!!!
I hate ALS with a passion. Much love and Congratulations to him, his wife, his family, and his teammates. Tough to watch without getting emotional
God bless you Sir!!! You gave the game everything that you had, then gave more. You deserved this honor of immortality in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Congratulations!!!! 👏👏👏👏👏
Good OL Days Circa 84/86 When CBS had the NFC Games. Them Bears VS 49ers Classics
Steve Mac Michael one of the greatest bears of all time and was on one of the greatest teams in NFL history the 1985 bears that won their won and only super bowl in team history so far
Yea I agree it is a shame that we couldn't hear it in his voice and the emotion that would have been with it. I send prayers to him and his family and the support showed to him there was tremendous. Only great friends and Family would show that LOVE to someone. They are exactly that. Mr McMichael I am glad that you had this moment. I wish you and your family many great days together. Be Blessed and deep down I know you are smiling and enjoying it all. Much Love......PEACE
Thank you so much Mongo. ❤❤❤. Enshrinement not induction.
A.E. Staley, Chicago Bears 🐻
He’s immortal now
my god bless you and be with you and your family
So happy got in and the other bears to love this team. Bear ⬇️
Everyone on that defense was special they definitely set the tone for what that side of a team strives for, glad he's got the support
If you don't tear up at this one, you ain't got a heart and you don't love football. (commenting from Chicago)
My Grandma died due to ALS it is a cruel and a slow death. She was only 66 years old. I was the oldest Grandson and also a Paul bear. 😢
God bless you, Steve and thank you for all the great memories. You'll not be forgotten.
Back when the NFL was good, miss those days .
Breaks my heart seing him like that man we love ya mongo you made the wcw days special man
Now Steve ,you can let the old man in. I'll bet that Toby would say the same.❤😢
He made it. Way to go Steve McMichael. Now that is strength. You fullfilled your wish. When you are ready. Its ok to go. God Bless him and his family.
I brute with a smile. Love 85 Bears. Thinkin of you all for sure.
A great Hall of Famer a great wrestler from WCW and he’s a good football player. I’m very proud of him we’re all praying for him #TeamMongo.
I wasn't really a Bears fan but he was the epitomy of the Bears defense. One of my favorites.
I’m getting tears of Steve McMicheal the former football player of Chicago Bears. 😓😭😩🙏🏻🏈
Been a Bears fan all my life! Mongo was always my favorite piece of the 46 D. Buddy was the architect. And Mongo was the wall. It is sad that he had to wait for this but he is beyond worthy. Love ya #76! Bear Down and Hook ‘em!
