It's great to see you both caring this much about your health at this stage of your life. I have a lot to benefit from my parents staying healthy for as long as possible!! This was also fun to see you two being normal people pursuing your own goals as a couple... it's funny to say it that way, but it's not something I often notice from my perspective haha. Loved the whole video from beginning to end 😁
(Also, great workout montage -- great job with the cloning!)

You two keep making me laugh out loud. “ A real motivation to keep doctors away” !! LOL . I could not agree more!!
Hello, brand new here. I just stumbled upon your son’s videos and watched 3 in a row and now I am here. I am transitioning into mainly raw food ( except during winter). I am in my late 60s and timeless at heart. You two have the infectious fluidity and desire to be playful and yet you are animated to watch. You two are just adorable. And, as a mom of ( presently 4 ) dogs , I am watching Butter too.
I have lived around the US and love it, but I am an acreage kind of person. I always need space, peace , quiet and nature and my dogs need room to run and sniff. So , although planning a move this year, I , perhaps do not have the restlessness that you two are experiencing. Your family is just lovely.
Yes, we create our own lives and it is always up to us to create the best magic and delight for ourselves and when we do, the universe joins in the dance and throws in a a bit more magic and music. I look forward to more videos.

You are so right. It is important to take care of yourself physically as well as mentally. I did well until a few years ago when my joints started to make a lot of noise .
I went to the gym and enjoyed walking daily. I made it till 88, 89 this year. I am planning to go on past 90. If the Universe allows. I feel supported and blessed. I wish the same for you.❤
Thank you for your channel. I love you both ❤❤❤

Love juicing and smoothies! My 2 cents as a nutritionist: I would soak the nuts and seeds (get rid of enzyme inhibitors, more digestible), skip the oat milk (undesirable stabilizers and oils usually) plus add some greens. Could replace oat milk with some coconut milk or coconut water. Also, add the powders at the end after everything else is smooth to prevent denaturing the protein.

We changed our lifestyle and diet overnight. He did no conventional treatments simple changed what we place on our plates and exercise. We are going on 15 years and he is doing well as am I.

Yeeeess Sister for talking about menopause and perimenopause! It is hugely important to understand the impact it has on our bodies, and how we must educate ourselves about how to work with it for optimal health. This has not been discussed with me prior to me going through it, and I think society in general. There is a lot of damaging misinformation. Anyway, thanks for talking about it, Cecelia, and for including it on your channel. It has a big impact on men too, and I’m all for men learning about it too!

I was a nurse for 27 years in the states. I am thrilled with my healthcare here in France. My small village has a Mason de santé with 3 doctors, one who speaks English. I was diagnosed with stage 2c melanoma in February 2023 and have received excellent care. I do have French health care. My local doctor filed paperwork with my diagnosis and most everything-surgery, scans, immunotherapy and taxi services to my immunotherapy-have been covered. I think I’ve paid €150 out of pocket since my diagnosis and mostly on labs. You both look outstanding. I’m sorry I don’t have a smoothie recipe. I’m allergic to comment smoothie ingredients and I can’t find a good one.

I realized last year that I used to naturally intermittent fast during my 20's and was slim and healthy then. I took it up again and will never choose any other way to eat again! I love it so much and the benefits seem endless & keep growing! I have become slimmer again (I only had a few mid-life vanity pounds to lose but they were STUBBORN), my health is improving in many ways and my relationship to food and hunger is so much better!

You are absolutely right, there is not a one and only solution that fits everybody. As Cecilia says you need to see what will work for you. I do my intermittent fasting my own way. I cannot go for a walk or exercise without my breakfast. Instead, I stop eating early, about 5.30 pm, that gives me a good 16 to 18 hours of fasting.

My biggest insecurity is my hair, I feel that it was not healthy looking for a long time. Study and money stress gave me a few years of hairloss. At the end of the day it all goes back to nutrition and lowering my stress levels as much as possible. People might say it's vanity but I really do see a difference in my skin and hair when I'm stressfree and treating my body well.

Also in my 50's, I began the "preventative" journey at age 20, going vegan before it was a thing, and moving into raw vegan when I went through alternative health schooling. I've been successfully practicing intermittent fasting since 2010, have been "working out" for my lifetime, and I experience the consistent results as a middle ager. I have the same energy since this body was younger, vitality, and amazing quality of life. As our bodies age, we can learn that simple is best, eating Nature is what these bodies require, movement is key, rest is essential, and living passionately is The Way! I believe you should embrace aging. It is a new chapter and can frankly be the best chapter. Standing in our own shoes, so to speak, for the first time. Not wasting time or energy on what does not serve us as time now is precious and giving our time to that which does. I have never been happier. That aging is a downhill ride is a myth unless you believe it and then you will live that way.

But I think I have to leave a comment :)
I watch your son's videos regularly.
When I saw that his parents had also started posting videos on their own RUclips channels, my first thought was:
His Parents see that making videos on RUclips works, so they get started too.
But with the impression that it was going to be completely uninteresting.

So nice to see you two so happy and "genki" as we say here in Japan. Fasting definitely helps and makes so much sense when you think about calories in / calories out because most people overeat just because they can. Some of the newer science will suggest that you occasionally have a proper "break-the-fast" upon waking to shock the system. The idea is that your body can become too accustomed to the fasting schedule and start to regulate itself differently. Mixing up the schedule seems to keep your body in the optimal zone. Also discovered that the more I took out animal products and processed food the better I felt, now my family and I are completely plant-based and I am feeling great at 54, wife feeling great at 52, and of course, our son is thriving at age 10 ;) Thank you for sharing your journey with us all!

Hi Josh and Cecelia. I turn 57 next month. Living in Montreal (Quebec) I have "specialist" doctors for my particular medical needs. I've been on the Quebec "Find a GP" waiting list for almost a year now. Even with my updated disability status added, which should have bumped me up the ladder. I had my main check up the other day, and everything was stellar, except for my osteoarthritis. My doc and I have the same issue. I've been doing the intermittent fasting as well. We only eat home cooked meals, which we both participate in creating. In between meals we do the smoothie option, and no junk foods. I sleep a good chunk of time, and now that it is warmer here, I can get outside more, if I am able, that is. I also have a spiritual life, and my daily meditation time, and my Spiritual Pastor whom I speak to daily. Finding balance is something I still struggle with, it is a work in progress. Thanks for sharing your stories.

Very nice to see another video from you, it had been awhile! Love this subject.
I am in my sixties and have always been exceptionally healthy, active, and strong, competitive athlete for many years. One thing I would say is: I don't "fight" aging, I try to accept it with grace and take really good care of myself to the best of my ability. I have learned to slow down a lot especially now that I live in Mexico (somewhat remotely, for 2 years), and that alone has been a really wonderful life change, living simply.
My favorite smoothie is made with a base of strong brewed and chilled hibiscus tea (tastes like juice), then I add cilantro and parsley, papaya, tamarind, and banana. My smoothie has a lot less fruit than what you showed for your smoothie. I often add spirulina and moringa powders but never any protein powders. I do use chia and flax in baking all the time. The smoothie is super green and delicious! Looking forward to seeing a new house tour now that you've been there awhile. : )

This is what health means to me: eating a 100% whole foods plant based diet (not only good for my own health but that of the animals and the planet); exercise (rebounding and weight lifting 5x/week), acupuncture treatments and red/near infrared light therapy. Of course, there are more things one could do but who has the time for it?! I find that weight lifting gives me the most benefits for physical and mental health. My favourite smoothie recipe: 1/2 c almond milk, 1/2 filtered water, 1 serving plant based vanilla protein powder (I use Orgain), 1/2 banana, 1 tbsp powdered peanut butter, 1-2 tbsp Irish Moss gel, blend it, then add 4 ice cubes and blend again. I'm also in the same process as you are.
How to get old with energy, healthy and with the right state of mind.
What helped me a lot since September is I started a creative activity. To be focus in doing a task was mind-blowing, I felt at peace. It makes me be present in the moment, it's a kind of meditation, and it's also so joyful to create something. I think that joy is part of getting older in good health. And of course, healthy food and exercise.

I love the Medical Medium's Heavy Metal Detox Smoothie. Getting the heavy metals out of my brain and liver has made a tremendous improvement in my health, along with his other protocols. You're so right, we have to take care of our health every day and on all levels, according to our own body's needs. I'm 72 but don't have the health issues friends and family my age have.

Thank you so much for telling us about obtaining health care in France. While I’m not in a foreign country, I spend 6 months a year in a small coastal town in Maine. We are very much a remote location and finding doctors and dentists has been a challenge. There just aren’t enough to go around or they aren’t taking new patients. It has been a lesson in frustration lol! We are picking away at it just as you are. I’m happy you are having success! 😁

I like listening to your prospects, ideas and analysis about things or problems your might face/ facing, because that makes me think more and analyze things, I like that. Me and my hubby are 60+ and also want to stay healthy for as long as possible. I used to do intermittent fasting when younger without knowing that it was that. Now that I am older I am trying as much as possible to do it, but with health issues and medications it is not easy.

I agree with the importance of taking good care of your health and have done all of the things that you recommend for decades. I’m now 68 years old and have been dealing with heart disease for 4 1/2 years. My struggle has included many failed treatments, including an unanticipated and rare surgical snafu that landed me in the hospital for 2 months. What this has taught me is a couple of things. First, we have only so much control over our future health. If we make it through our 70s (or beyond) strong, vital and without major health calamities to slow us down, then consider yourself very blessed. Second, the easiest and most important thing we can and should do weekly is to check our blood pressure. High BP is a silent killer and yet it is highly treatable. Undiagnosed and untreated BP is responsible for many health conditions, especially as we age. Get an arm cuff, either manual or automatic. Take it with you to your physician’s office to make sure it is accurate. Keep up your health practices for sure and stay healthy and happy living your best lives. ❤

It was great to hear that you're both going well. Our two stories have some similarities. We're older, in our 60s, sold up just over 2 years ago and moved life from Australia to France and Italy (We live between both countries) so we can appreciate all the challenges of getting life in order all over again. Car licences, health systems etc etc.....Isn't there such a sense of accomplishment once its all in place. We're also massive fans of intermittent fasting which is part of our daily routine (we could never stop, it just makes too much sense. After all coffee should be drunk black
🙂) and we can't live without our daily green smoothie which we've been making for the past 10 years or so. Some of our ingredients include hemp, sunflower, chia, sesame and flax seeds, avacado, tofu, a diverse range of vegetables (at least 10). We include but go lite on fruit because of the high fructose levels), goji berries etc.. Coconut and Almond milk. We then mix in hemp seed oil.. Like you we're fortunate to be able to access incredibly fresh high quality organic produce. Also like you we're convinced that nutrition is important to extending our 'health span'. Happy living! Maria e Rowan. PS two other ingredients that pack a punch are mint from the garden and lemon peel... !

Best to keep the fruit to 1/2 cup per person. Switch the oat milk (carbs bad) to Bullet Proof MCT oil for creaminess and ketones. For fruit blueberries are best. Nuts are high in lectins. If looking for added protein goat whey is highly bioavailable and increases glutathione. Great channel! Grass fed butter spun/whipped in coffee doesn't break a fast. Same with MCT. Dave Asprey is a guru!

What about the French way of eating-light breakfast, sensible lunch and dinner. No snacking. No gluttonous portions. Eating at the same times everyday. Just in case you are not aware, it is not recommended to mix bananas and berries together in a smoothie. The concern has been raised is a recent research study that indicated that eating bananas and berries together could reduce some of the phytonutrient benefits in the berries. It is therefore best to eat them separately, and not blended together. There is a Dr. Greger RUclips video on this topic that should be helpful in case you are interested. A solution can be to to heat the bananas to 70•c for 2 minutes in some pineapple juice or lemon juice and then let them cool down, mash them and freeze them in cubes. These cubes could be added when preparing the smoothie. This can prevent alterations to the flavonoids (at least by 80%).

I'm now 63 and have been traveling, mostly along to Europe lately. You need plenty of energy to do that. I sure don't feel like when I was in my 30's but I try to take care of myself. I will face aging bravely as my parents did. It is not a monster. It is a reality of life.
