How to Repair a DE Pool Filter

Seems much easier to maintain over a sand filter. Can my sand filter be easily swapped to a DE filter? Is a DE filter better at filtering?

My pool is 19,500 gal so my filter is a 48 SF

Mine is 25K gallons.

Sorry I got that wrong. this was not a DE filter. So, if you have a 25K pool you need a 48 square foot DE filter amzn.to/3X0UvVy

Remodeled our pool last December now using a cartridge filter never will I use DE filters again

Thanks for the comment. Maybe I can switch mine over to cartridge.
