Hugh Jackman was a lucky roll of the genetic dice. He's gorgeous, good at acting, good at singing, good at dancing, he's Australian, AND he's Wolverine. It's crazy!
True, but about 90% of it is sheer hard work. He's incredibly self-disciplined. He's said that over the 17 years of making Wolverine films, even in between them, he's had to eat carefully and work out daily. Then, about 3 months before they're due to start filming, he subsists on a diet of broiled or boiled chicken breasts and broccoli, eaten every 4 hours. He actually has to wake up at 4 a.m daily, eat the chicken and broccoli, sleep for 2 more hours, and then do an intense 2 hour workout. And, he says he LOVES to eat, so it's not easy.
Same with his dancing, btw. Saw an interview with the choreographer/trainer on The Greatest Showman, and he said Jackman has a hard time really thinking of himself as a dancer and will insist on MORE rehearsing even long after he's got all the steps down pat. (Choreographer laughed as he said all this, adding that, in fact, Jackman was a very good dancer who caught on easily).

Hugh's a triple threat - he can act, sing and dance (not to mention he can bulk up and down like crazy). He actually started out here in Australia doing productions of Oklahoma and Beauty and the Beast. I've seen him live twice in Sydney, first in The Boy From Oz back in 2006, I think, then again in 2015 when he did his From Boradway to Oz show (where he actually performed This is Me, well before anyone even really knew about The Greatest Showman). Both shows were just absolutely amazing. I'd highly recommend checking out some of his singing and dancing, I'm sure that there's plenty of stuff here on RUclips. :)

When Hugh Jackman was in Logan, swearing and showing that kinda aggressive and violent attitude, I was shocked to see he could sing,dance and be in the Greatest Showman. That just shows he’s a great actor from the range of genres he does❤️😂

If you want to be even more impressed at his range and talent, watch clips from "Boy from Oz". It's startling at first. Michael Caine (you do know who Caine is, right? One of greatest actors of all time) said, re Boy from Oz, that it was one of the greatest performances he's ever seen by an actor.

I love how Taylor was singing softly while staring at him in awe and Zac strongly was focusing on harmonizing with her, rather than others who would either try to show off or out sing her, he made sure he matched with Taylor and she kept blushing.

Keala Settle is such an incredible singer... but more than that, the woman can EMOTE. Jesus, her first few notes in that first clip made my jaw drop.
25 years on Broadway, and she was always working. I believe she had the lead in a musical called "Waitress" and won a Tony for it.

Zac is actually good. Can't believe that Disney didn't like his voice in the first high school musical and decided to have Drew Seeley to sing for him 😩. Thankfully he sings in the other 2 HSM movies
In fact they put someone else to sing in his place because at the time he was very shy and felt insecure with his own voice. He trained this and decided to try it in the next films.
I think it was because his voice was still changing from puberty so he couldn't hit the high notes without it cracking or something like that.
It wasn't that they didn't like his voice. The songs for the 1st HSM were written in a higher octave (which was just outside of Zach's range at the time). There wasn't enough time to rewrite all the music for the songs in Zach's range within the filming schedule, so they brought in Drew Seely to sing them they way they were written.
@@Bookworm0485 yes - and they blended their voices together. As I am alto and I am not able to sing soprano parts. It is simple as that, but many people do not have a clue

By the time they casted Zac his voice was already going through puberty, So they got Drew Seeley who got to sing in the first HSM because the songs where produced for his vocal range witch is a tenor. Zac’s voice at this point wasn’t consistent enough as a tenor due to puberty he was more of a baritone. If you hear in this video in the “you’re a good man Charlie Brown” Zac was in high school and able to hit higher notes because he hadn’t gone through puberty as harshly as he did. Zac wasn’t shy he was in musicals his whole life, it was whether he could simply hit the specific notes or not and it didn’t work out so they took Drew. Zac ended up originally getting casted for Troy because of the chemistry with him and Vanessa so that’s why Drew wasn’t acting the the movie. But it all worked out in the end I think we all prefer Zac’s emotion in his acting in those particular movies over Drew anyway😂

I admit, I only watched the Greatest Showman because it had Zendaya and Zac Efron in. The movie is absolutely incredible and is literally one of my favourite movies. The music completely blew me away - Hugh is just all round phenomenal, Zac's voice has matured so much and blew me away (love him so much) and Zendaya's voice is beautiful, such a cool person 😊 The whole cast is just fantastic and pulled at all my heartstrings!!!! Can't wait for this to come to the West End
