I imagine that the lore for this is that the entity just paid spy to show up Like there is no superstitious, lore-related reason The entity just coughed up a couple grand and Spy said he’d do it
Spy: "Please. I have received far more for doing less. You're going have to do a whole lot more than just showing up with a briefcase full of-" Entity: "That's for another killer. Apologies." *Then the Entity presents the spy a briefcase full of Australium knives, guns, and a fuck ton of extremely fine-aged wine.*
@@Fusrodog Spy, stoic but clearly surprised: "Very well. Beauté noire éloquente, I will humor you. Meet me at 11:38, sharp. Give me the information there and I will start."
"b-but how???? D-dave....... Y-you killed him?!" "I believe the words you're looking for are..." **Pulls out fucking butterfly knife crisply.** "I murdered him, then YOU."
Ngl, Spy from TF2 would've been a way better pick for the "killer who can blend in via looking like survivor" because he literally has disguise kit that makes him look like anyone, so that's what Spy mains in DBD would do. Man, makes me wish we'd see TF2 chapter in DBD
Hahahaha The Entity would hated Pyro arrived, and basically burn every survivor and Killer Which still be the same if Pyro is a survivor, as it(as Pyro gender likely will never be solved) cause many havoc like how it did back in the Fortress with Spy, Pyromanic...... Conclusion: it's no difference making Pyro killer or survivor, it will burned everything it see XD
My favourite line of TF2 is how Red Spy continues Blu Spy's dialogue "He could be in this very room, he could be you, he could be me, he could even be..." "...Right behind you"
"This Spy has already breached our defenses..." "You've seen what he's done to our colleagues!" "And worst of all, he could be any one of us..." "He could be in this very room! He could be you! He could be me! He could even be..." "Right behind you."
The Community version of the Spy: Spycrabs, currently an underpowered class, makes a lot of "your mom" jokes, obesses over pornography, etc. Lore Accurate Spy:
Now this guy would be what people envisioned the Legion being like: Blending in among the survivors and causing confusion as a result. Although he would also have the ability to become invisible and likely also be able to disrupt generators with his ability to sap buildings. Pure and simple, the Spy would be HATED because at the foundational level he's a disruptor and to my understanding there's a vocal group among those that mainly play survivors that don't like that type of killer. If you know Spy in TF2, you know the kind of presence that a good Spy has. The paranoia he can sow into a team and the havoc he can wreak when making plays.
The anti-VC killer too. "Hey man, we almost got this gen finished, come help." "I'm nowhere near you, who're talking to?" "What do you mean, isn't that y- oh fiddlesticks."
I love how the very first piano section has this sort of an... Uneven rhythm, for lack of a better word? It's like someone taking in a shaky breath, and slowly letting it out to try and calm themself down, because this guy could be anywhere, looking like _anyone._ I don't actually know much about Dead By Daylight, but I like to imagine that even as he chases you, he simply sprints, looking calm and dignified as ever. He's not worried about you getting away. He knows he'll catch up to you.
The scariest chasers are the ones who don't run frantically. They're the ones who march slowly onwards, never stopping, never faltering. They are an ever present threat, looming after you, even as you struggle on, till your very last breath. And then... You fall to the ground, they stand before you, a smirk on their face. The outcome was inevitable. They wore you down, like everyone else before. And you've ended up where everyone else has.
@@Woodland_Adventures Not even a smile, you're not the one they've desired to kill for ages. You'd be just another step to the goal be it money, a different target, or that you were simply in the way. No emotional response
The most terrifying way to walk towards someone is a mix between a casual walking pace and a dead, cruel, and unwavering look about them. Like the astronaut from call of duty zombies from the moon map. (Weird analogy I know, but stick with me here.) The astronaut has a normal walk, but yet he has blood on him, his movements are stiff and act like he is in the late stages of rigor mortis, and he isn't in a rush, he knows you'll falter, and that he has the time to mess with you and give you that sense of hope that you lost him just for him to appear from the shadows.
@@spaceacepl4636 That is more like "I am looking at your X-ray, and i'm afraid YOU SUCK!" Also could say "Aww, you almost healed me to death that time!" if he was disguised as a injured survivor and someone attempted to heal them.
Imagine being hit by the knife so you go spam crouch near another survivor to indicate you want healing but they rip off their mask and the Spy just shanks you.
Here's something I noticed about this theme: most killer themes are really quiet until they're VERY near or actively giving chase. Spy's theme is really noticable even when he's distant. But this makes sense as it's likley his abilities would revolve around disguising as other players and going invisible. Edit: WHERE DID YOU ALL COME FROM.
Well spy needs to buy his Louis Crabbemarché jackets somehow. You don’t get a suit made with silkworms raised in Tuscany and put together by tailor monks wielding patterns from centuries past for cheap
I think the best way to make a trailer for the Spy would be to make him almost never present or visible as 'The Spy', instead going in and out of cloak and only stabbing from blindspots. That is, until the very end, when it's just two survivors left and they're escaping. First says something to the degree of, 'Thank god we escaped, let's get out of here.' Followed by a succinct 'Right Behind you', paired with the disguise kit sound effect as the trailer ends.
As an added bonus After the splash screen, logos and all that stuff at the end, there's one last bonus scene. The ex-survivor lying dead in the ground with the butterfly knife in his back, pulled out unceremoniously while and an almost spent, but still burning cigarette lies on the ground next to the corpse as we see just the lower legs of a well dressed man. Keeping focus on the corpse, the camera slowly pans up as if to reveal the killer, you hear the butterfly knife being closed, the click of a cigarette case, a lighter being used, then see the figure turn into the survivor just as the camera focuses on him looking to the corpse right before he turns and fades away. (Whether its Invis-Watch or just stepping into the fog is left up to the imagination.)
Spy: *looks up at the Entity, unimpressed* "I make ten times more than this in a day just by killing cheap robotic knockoffs of myself and my team. I have dealt with enough magical happenings to know not to trust deal-making devils. You're going to have to do better than THAT."
Imagine being a survivor running up to help another survivor with a generator and all the sudden the Generator starts sparking electricity like crazy like it got sapped then that survivor that was just doing the generator stabs you and the music just immediately kicks in. I can also already imagine the fun addons you can have for him like a perk called Big Earner that reduces the speed penalty upon landing a successful stab or Red Tape Recorder which removes your ability to "kick" generators while disguised but in turn gives you the ability to slowly drain progress from the generator until a survivor comes to work on said generator
*Spy:* Base comes with one butterfly knife. Landing 3 successful hits on victims fills the load bar and grants access to the revolver. With the given revolvers you can land 3 successful hits on a healthy victim, crippling them and inflicting heavy wounds. (Revolver has 6 bullets in the chamber, no reloads.) 80 seconds cooldown once revolver activated. If Revolver not used in 20 seconds, Spy slowly replaces it with the knife. *Disruptor device:* It can be placed in any generator above 50%. Usage rights per match: 3 (can be increased with add-ons) Placing a disruptor on a generator above 50% will slowly but cautiously degrade the generator. It can be broken after a 2-second hit animation with wrenches found in the vicinity. *Spy: Disguise:* This ability of the mercenary allows him to disguise himself as the victim every 120 seconds (up to 30 seconds per completed generator). The disguise can be heard up to 40 meters away, but after that it is completely silent and indistinguishable. To recognize a disguised spy, you can shine a flashlight at him. Shining a flashlight at a disguised spy for more than 2 seconds will undisguise him and stun him for a short time. If the Spy stabs a healthy victim in the back during this time with a short attack animation, it will put the victim directly into a down state. *Spy: Perks:* (Special thanks to @frogmanfromthesky2148 for his name ideas) *Hex: Right behind you:* An active totem will light up, removing the animation of a disguised Spy stabbing a victim in the back, allowing him to deliver a fairly quick blow. It also eliminates the disguised Spy's footsteps. *Seduce me:* Shining a flashlight on the Spy, disguised or direct, gives him immense pleasure. The disguised Spy's disguise removal time with the flashlight adds an additional 0.1 seconds, and shining a light on the Spy speeds him up a bit (up to 4 stacks). *Any one of us:* And worst of all he could be any of one of us, he could be you, he could be me! even he could-... When the Spy is disguised, a fake Spy enters the line of sight of the nearest survivor and disappears behind an obstacle. This effect is almost indistinguishable and can be disorienting. *Note:* Disguising will remove the terror field and red glow. *Note:* When playing survivor, now you can warn the others if someone is Spy with interaction button. If Spy hit's a survivor with his knife, these lines goes in: First hit: -"You got blood on my suit." First hit With a revolver: -"As if I would get blood on a 3000 dollar suit." Second Hit taking down after a chase: -"Ooh, you we're quick as a little bunny, weren't you?" First econcuer: -"May I make a suggestion? Run." Hitting after a chase: -"Weren't you supposed to be good at dodging?" Suprise Attack: -"Suprise!" Back stabbing while disguised: -"I never really was on your side." Taking down someone with hit: -"Shock, bloodloss, infection. Ohoho.. I love stabbing." Ending someone with mori: -"Let's just get to the point." Zapping a generator: -"I murdered your hopes as well."
Hell, basically every merc should be invited as killers, but the Entity would soon regret bring them in it'territory, for realizing •they being too efficient(fast) on killing •Pyro likely burn everything it saw •Even under grade them as survivor, they likely can destroy many killers with their skills which can't harvest despair or hope it needs and starving
@@CrazyHookDBD Well, they canonically travel to hell or Merasmus island, while came back to their own realm, so it gave me this thought the Entity will soon regret sending them here Plus Medic outsmart the literal devil in comic, he probably will trick the Entity just the same
@@annoying_HK_guy good point, BUT… Vecna was given the mark of negation. It doesn’t just nerf him, it GREATLY nerfs him and prevents him from leaving The Entity’s realm. Who says Spy and the others wouldn’t get them too? The Entity wants to balance the trials and keep them fair, so this is in order.
@@CrazyHookDBD Oh, I didn't know that mark lore But as TF2 fanboy(not really that deep into DbD lore but still liking it), I still kinda hope the Merc will find a way to outsmart the Entity Well we got Pyramid Head(a being born from a man guilt.......) and Michael Plus Medic and Engineer seems like the type who will harness the power to their team(unlike The Doctor, who is far too gone with his experment), I meant Doc literally cheat death with MVM revive device So giving them that is like Merasmus putting the invincible card on the wheel......I assume both will find way to leave clue for them for discovery(since the Entity wipe both surivior and killer memories each round ends) "YOU ARE GOD!.......I don't know why I put that on the wheel......"
Spy is... Perfect for a dead by daylight killer. A man who works from the shadows, picking off your team one by one, whittling down your sanity the whole while. Hunting, chasing, a silent killer. Truely a force to be reckoned with.
You could honestly make spy look scary without zombifying or covering him in blood or anything. Just by "realisming" him a good bit, with sunken eyes and a twisted, killer's grin, wrapped up in a skintight balaclava and dressed in a suit that looks much too fine for the twisted visage of a murderer that hides below it. As for a kit, honestly, they could likely just tweak around a complete copy of Spy's actual in-game kit. Limited time invisibility, ability to disguise as the survivors, bad damage to the front, instant down to the back, though I would probably put a limitation on that like he needs to BE disguised for a backstab to count or something. I don't imagine he would use his gun, probably just for balance.
I was immediately sold on this when I heard The Spy’s theme in the background And The Spy (for as jarring as it would be character wise) would actually work really damn well as a Killer. The Spy’s gameplay mechanic of disguising himself as others could be translated wonderfully into DBD Like The Spy’s mechanic could be that immediately after downing a Survivor or using his Mori on them, The Spy could disguise himself as whoever he just killed It would just make a typical game of Dead by Daylight even more stress inducing since now, you have no idea whether or not you can trust your fellow survivors Hell I’m half tempted to say that maybe whenever The Spy attacks from the back, the survivor he hits is instantly downed replicating the insta-kill backstabs from TF2
@@gotsomham Yeah, however, some players would still slip up. I mean, I have had multiple times where teammates see somebody get backstabbed, then completely trust the Spy that has just disguised as the victim. Communication is just a bad argument in my opinion though, cause like, yeah, they get shafted. It would still work though, and wouldn't be nearly as bad as people think.
I can see it now, A group of 5 survivors in a circle together, one points at the other, and the one that was pointed at just lunges at the tattletale with 3:28 starting to blast as everyone runs away. Pure, utter panic; like what a good Spy main would cause.
@@Fe4tureCreature If DBD ever added a voice chat I will go through extensive voice training to be able to pull off the most authentic spy impression possible just so I can talk like him while hunting survivors.
Spies Mori would be a recreating of how he killed sniper with one of his finishing lines being random from his pool of domination lines, such as: “I merely finished what your liver started” or “This is Dwight! Rainbows make me cry!” Or the ever popular “WELL! Off to visit your mother!”
Well, they'll be on the ground is the thing, so it'll be hard to pull off. Yet, I still like the idea where it's still in the same vein, but he instead very calmly takes out the Ambassador, says an endearing line from his "Cheers!" or "Good Job" lines, then shooting them in the head. What could make it a step further is if he takes a second to breathe cigarette smoke, flicked the one he has onto the corpse, and lit a new one... Except if you're playing as the scout survivor, to which he just disposes it on the ground and lights a new one.
Personally, I'd combine the Sniper kill with the Medic kill. Spy casually blocks a strike before twisting the survivor's arm and staring into their eyes as he morphs into them, to their horror. He then chops their throat and, transitioning to the Sniper kill, cuts them a few times before stabbing them in the back. The camera angle changes as body falls, and just like with the Sniper kill the Spy stares coldly down at his kill, brushing dust off his suit jacket. For the next 20 seconds the survivors are not informed that this Mori has happened, the survivor appears fine on their UI, and the Spy gets to run around disguised for a bit.
Ok but a shapeshifter killer will actually be scary. You cant even trust your own teamates. He could be you, he could be him, he could even be right behind you
I love how the chase music completely redacts the motif with the piano, leaving the orchestral strings (idk which instrument/s precisely) to repeat the same part of the motif The bongos too oh my god
to be fair, spy thrives when getting into your head. he has the harshest domination lines in his home game, even surpassing soldier's blatant racism on occasion. him telling you that he's gonna visit your mother in this game would be devastating, and REALLY get into your head, baiting you into making stupid mistakes the spy can capitalize on.
@@MinuHex I know but every survivor runs at the same speed without perks, plus perks aren't really unique to the survivor they came from anyway, anyone can use them Plus idk if they'd make a voiceline that's character specific like that unless it was a survivor that was added in the same chapter
Spy oddly fits this, being able to turn completely invisible (unless you're right next to someone), and being able to literally disguise yourself as one of the survivors are great abilities. Not to mention his tools, a sapper to disable generators from being repaired for a time. A revolver for long range chip damage. And a knife that, if positioned properly, could instantly down any survivor. He honestly has the makings of a great, strong killer for DBD.
Killer: The Mercenary Speed: 115% Height: Short (Same as a Survivor) Terror Radius: 24m Weapon: Butterfly Knife Power: Tools of the Trade Primary Ability: Disguise Kit Over the course of 60 seconds, the power bar will fill up, successfully landing a basic attack against a survivor increases the bar by 25% (equivalent of 15 seconds of charge), when the bar is full The Mercenary can press the secondary ability button to activate the Disguise Kit for 60 seconds. While the ability is active, the health state and activity of survivors is hidden from each other (The UI is covered in disguise smoke). Additionally, all survivors are clouded in disguise smoke and cannot distinguish one from another. While the ability is active, The Mercenary has the Undetectable status effect and is also covered in disguise kit smoke, making them impossible to distinguish from a normal survivor. Additionally, While active, survivors doing Conspicuous Actions have the Exposed status effect, which lasts for the duration they are doing the action and for 5 seconds after. Secondary Ability: Invis-Watch Press and hold the power button to turn invisible. While invisible, The Mercenary has the undetectable status effect and cannot be seen. While active, this ability rapidly drains charges at a rate of 2 charges per second, while inactive it regains 1 charge per second, the invisibility meter has a maximum of 10 charges (5 total seconds active, 10 seconds to fully recharge). If you are pallet stunned while invisible, your stun duration is significantly increased and you lose all of your invisibility meter. While invisible, you cannot attack. If you hit a survivor doing a conspicuous action (except unhooking another survivor) within 2 seconds of deactivating the power, they take double damage. Perks: The Sapper: Whenever you kick a generator, it gains a sapper. The sapper remains on the generator until survivors repair 25% of it's charges. Generators with sappers on them have their aura revealed to you, with the auras intensity determined by the progression of the generator (Generators that are closer to being completed will be brighter). If a generator with a sapper on it is not being repaired for 10 consecutive seconds, the generator automatically begins to regress as though it was kicked. Finally, if a generator with a sapper on it remains at 0 charges for 15 consecutive seconds, the generator becomes blocked for 90 seconds and the sapper is removed. Enforcer: Injured survivors suffering from the Exposed status effect cannot gain or benefit from the endurance status effect (Except for endurance granted by being unhooked). (For example, if an injured survivor is exposed by Hex: No One Escapes Death and attempts to use Dead Hard, they won't gain the endurance and would be downed as normal if hit, they would still gain exhaustion though.). Finally, the UI indicates if a survivor has the exposed condition by placing a skull marker next to their health state indicator. Backstab: Your speed while lunging is increased by 100%, however the distance of your lung is decreased by 50%. (This effect cancels itself out, you lunge the exact same distance, you just do it in half the time.)
I really dig the TF2 mercs as DBD killers. Here's one I thought of; The Pyro. Speed: 115% Height: Same as Survivors Terror Radius: Large Weapon: Fire Axe Power: Firebug Landing basic attacks on survivors charges a "fuel" meter. Once Fuel reaches maximum, The Pyro can open a locker and retrieve his trusty flamethrower. The fuel lasts 60 seconds or until expended by The Pyro. The flamethrower can be used to damage survivors, setting them ABLAZE (damage over time, requiring them to put the fire out). It can also be used to burn pallets and deny entry to areas. Flames will douse after 30 seconds No idea of perks though.
@@SSD_Penumbra To make this more balanced. Flamethrower sets speed at 95% or 80% , maybe 100% could also be balanced Flamethrower had 100 charges 1 charge is drained per second by the smaller flame , which can be extinguished and relighting it is similar to Hillbily's chainsaw. 8/10 charges per second while active. A survivor residing inside the direct flame 1 second will be set ablase, set ablase survivors seconds will take damage in 2 seconds of direct fire , survivors who do not extinguish themselves after 30 seconds also take damage and the flame will stop. The same rule applies for pallets, which can also be extinguished by survivors. You can set ablase raised pallets, setting ablase any survivor that uses them but can only destroy dropped pallets. Survivors that vault over set ablase vaults and pallets will be set ablase. Survivours hiding inside of lockers being set ablase will be forced out. If someone is downed their progress bar resets instead, the rescuer will have to put out the fire before rescuing them, Similar to deep wound , putting out the fire halts the flame progress, but only for downed survivors. Being set ablase causes survivors to bleedout 2 times faster (normally takes 240 sec). Downed survivors can be also be set ablase. You can drop the flamethrower in any locker , this keeps it's charges. You can drop the flamethrower on the ground , granting you 15% haste for 1 second for every 10 charges remaining. Attachment ideas: Iridicent Mark II: A flamethrower that relies on liquid gasoline rather than butane gas. +Fires an accurate jet of flame with an arc instead of a small cone. This flame has no cap on distance and has much more range than a regular flamethrower, Pyro can pretty much crossmap you across Midwich or more. +Anything that touches it is instantly setablaze. Damage is dealt after 1.5 - Melee has 50% less charge. -This flamethrower has 60 "butane" charge for the small flame. 1 charge/sec normal, 2 charge/sec firing. Once this charge dies out the flamethrower becomes unusable. - Relighting the small flame takes 3 or 4 times as long. Giving survivors plenty of time to hide. Iridicent Napalm: +Harder to extinguish +Slightly hinders set ablase survivors +Additional hinderance to survivors extinguishing it +Does not extinguish itself (might be too op) : Requires another survivor to extinguish it, you cannot self extinguish. - Reduces reach/arc by 50% - 0.7 sec delay on time to fire. (how much it time it takes to damage a survivor could also be reduced) Yes , this is pretty much the plague but needs to get basic attacks before using their ability... which is now stronger..
@@b-doi1211 pyros standard flamethrower only uses butane for the small torch at the front that ignites the real fuel (which is kept in the tank on pyros back)
@ulitharid8907 The concept of the ability is great and well thought out and I also like the concept of The Sapper as a perk (even though it bites it self with normal regression now and what if a gen is over 25% already). The problem I see are the other to perks. The Enforcer punishes Survivors for good timing in End Game (if NOED is there) or other perks that help against camping and tunneling while there are also many addons/perks that also give exposed. As the unhook just grants endurance I don't think the immunity would get implemented. I think we need an entire rework of the perk. Also, as The Backstab is just a better lunge as you get nearer to the survivor before you actually lunge (without the slowness penalty for charging a lunge too as in the description we just gain a 100% speed boost). Maybe we could do something like that for short lunge charges as the killer can be rewarded for good tracking and being near his target. Or we give it a cooldown which doesn't fix the problem entirely but regulates it harshly. TL;DR: The Mecenary balance changes: Ability 1 & 2: unchnaged Perks: The Sapper: unchanged Dead Ringer (formerly Enforcer): "You are an amateur and a fool." Upon starting chase the perk meter starts to fill. When full and ending chase without the chased survivor going into "Dying" state the red glow will follow the survivor for 6/7/8s. Cooldown of 80s. Backstab: Hitting survivor with an Basic Attack (tapping attack) sets Survivor into "Dying" state. You're lunge is decreased by 20%. Cooldown of 120s/105s/90s. I know my ideas aren't perfect and atleast Backstab will need new balancing. I hope many other will have ideas how to balance this :)
The chase is my only issue with this tbh the build up is right up spy's alley just for the chase to be out of character for him should of kept the right behind you piano but as a supplement to the violin taking over
@@_the_spy_8867you know, Spy also portrayed more like a comedic or weak character. Sometimes serious. But he's never close to his canon version of character. Oh boy, another day excuse to rant about the Legion! God they dropped the ball with that trailer, making us think they could disguise as survivors. I still really want a killer that can do that...
Why disguise as the heavy though? He could just do that normally and it would be a lot less effort. The Disguise Kit doesn’t exactly buff him mechanically, only make him look different!

whenever i heard this for the first time, i instantly got chills during the chase sequence. then the second time, and third. REALLY creative especially with the theme surrounding the Meet The Spy film, and if Valve was a bit more courteous with the Team Fortress 2 IP nowadays, i would definitely see this in the game. Well done!
I love the idea that when Spy meets the legion he just insults their knifes and their ability to wield them. Saying shit like, “You call that a knife?” “No no no. I am not like you. You are bunch of children playing with kitchen utensils. *I* am a professional wielding a deadly weapon.”

The Spy can disguise as one of the survivors and can even pretend to fix the generators to try and blend in, but instead of fixing, he actually slowly breaks the generator. Spy's attacks usually do the same amount of damage as any other killer's attacks, but, while disguised or for 10 seconds after dropping the disguise (the time period can be changed for balancing) the Spy can perform a special "Backstab" attack, which requires the Spy to attack a survivor from behind. This attack instantly drops the survivor. Another ability the Spy has allows him to put Sappers on generators (the amount of generators that can be sapped at the same time can be changed for balancing). The Sappers slowly drain the fixing progress from the generators they are on, and to start gaining progress again the survivors have to first get rid of the Sapper before continuing to fix the generator.
There's something about Spy being in DBD that makes him scarier than the other killers in my opinion. Like, most of the killers are monsters, demons, crazed murders, etc. But not Spy. Spy is just a man who's payed to kill you. He'll trick you, slowly killing you off one by one, changing into your fallen teammates. What if you run into yourself? Then what? What if they believe he's you, and that you're the Spy? Or, you could just play a game of Among us. That works too 🤷♂️
It would make sense to have a DbD and TF2 crossover. Spy is the killer, and scout could be the survivor, with a higher move speed be being fragile himself, and maybe some fun movement options
gonna be a party pooper here the answer is never, because not only it's a licensed character, it's also a skin that would have to be free, because valve doesn't want people profiting from their games therefore we'd end up with a skin that can only be obtained by paying an obscene amount of iridescent shards
Spinal Departure, Basically his backstab ability instantly killing players, Constant Disguise, He can choose to be one of the survivors as a disguise when does anything but vault, hide or run the disguise will effectively wear off and finally Hidden Attention, Basically his invis-watch from TF2

Nah it should be him finishing the survivor off with the revolver before doing his disguise kit taunt where he discards cigarette onto their dead bodies before taking out a new cigarette (maybe with the rare chance of spycrabbing)

A killer that could disguise himself as a survivor sounds ridiculously tense. Some of his items could translate really well too. Sappers damage gens. Invis watch is obvious, but the Dead Ringer might work to fake out a stun and have him cloak after it...that should probably be on a very high cooldown.
Powers: Sapper: Can Sap a Generator once per kill, requiring it to be repaired a second time Cloak: Can go invisible and reposition. Disguise: Can become any of the living survivors.
Bro killer that will backstab for an insta down you if your not facing him is scary half way through typing this I realize moonwalking would be the only counter
This is such an awesome theme!! I agree with other comments, is that The Spy would be the more unsettling type as he's not in for the sick satisfaction. You're just another hit on his list. Now that i think of it, i wonder how a chase theme would be for say ... a Bobby from "We Happy Few"? From the Nightwatch gamemode we can see Bobby's do their jobs effectively, and swiftly, so i wonder how that'd transfer to DBD!
One shudders to imagine what inhuman thoughts lie behind that mask What dreams of chronic and sustained cruelty? (I know its from meet the pyro, but it fits)
For The Spy, I imagine he'd be like Wraith but impossible to see cloaked, works like his cloak (limited timed meter that can refill), instant downing players not looked at, and can disguise himself as the survivors
I would imagine part of his kit woult be a sapper that takes a little time to apply to a gen but then degrades it faster/ requires more repair time to stop the regression. Disguising as survivors and maybe a timed thing like dredge or freddy that forces survivors into first person to make backstabs possible (maybe disabled by finding the spy's invis watch somewhere on the map).
This also makes me wonder about the possibility of a 1v16 assassination type game where one player has an objective against a player team, mmo boss style, with various types of objectives, career killers, and perhaps more traditional brutes and tricksters to round it out.
You’re a lone survivor, approaching a generator with another survivor, then all of a sudden the survivor puts a machine on it halting its process. As he turns to you the illusion disappears and you see the killer staring u down. He disappears and as you begin to run you seem to trip on nothing. As you get back to your feet you feel a sharp pain in your back as he reappears in front of you as he takes you down without any sound
Fun fact: the original idea for the Legion was to act like the spy, if you watch the Darkness Among Us trailer you can see Frank running with David like a survivor before putting on his mask and attacking David. So we funnily enough very close to getting the spy in DBD before the Legion's revision.

Hell yeah, the spy being a killer is such a cool idea
*Spy:*
Base comes with one butterfly knife.
*Disruptor device:*
It can be placed in any generator above 50%. Usage rights per match: 3 (can be increased with add-ons)
Placing a disruptor on a generator above 50% will slowly but cautiously degrade the generator. It can be broken after a 2-second hit animation with wrenches found in the vicinity.
*Spy: Disguise:*
This ability of the mercenary allows him to disguise himself as the victim every 120 seconds (up to 30 seconds per completed generator).
*Spy: Perks:*
(Special thanks to @frogmanfromthesky2148 for his name ideas)
*Hex: Right behind you:*
An active totem will light up, removing the animation of a disguised Spy stabbing a victim in the back, allowing him to deliver a fairly quick blow. It also eliminates the disguised Spy's footsteps.
*Seduce me:*
Shining a flashlight on the Spy, disguised or direct, gives him immense pleasure. The disguised Spy's disguise removal time with the flashlight adds an additional 0.1 seconds, and shining a light on the Spy speeds him up a bit (up to 4 stacks).
*Any one of us:*
And worst of all he could be any of one of us, he could be you, he could be me! even he could-...
If Spy hit's a survivor with his knife, these lines goes in:
First hit:
-"You got blood on my suit."
First hit With a revolver:
-"As if I would get blood on a 3000 dollar suit."
Second Hit taking down after a chase:
-"Ooh, you we're quick as a little bunny, weren't you?"
First econcuer:
-"May I make a suggestion? Run."
Hitting after a chase:
-"Weren't you supposed to be good at dodging?"
Suprise Attack:
-"Suprise!"
Back stabbing while disguised:
-"I never really was on your side."
Taking down someone with hit:
-"Shock, bloodloss, infection. Ohoho.. I love stabbing."
Ending someone with mori:
-"Let's just get to the point."
Zapping a generator:
-"I murdered your hopes as well."
and after hooking a person the final time
"welp off to visit your mother!"

I was immediately sold on this when I heard The Spy’s theme in the background
And The Spy (for as jarring as it would be character wise) would actually work really damn well as a Killer. The Spy’s gameplay mechanic of disguising himself as others could be translated wonderfully into DBD
Like The Spy’s mechanic could be that immediately after downing a Survivor or using his Mori on them, The Spy could disguise himself as whoever he just killed
It would just make a typical game of Dead by Daylight even more stress inducing since now, you have no idea whether or not you can trust your fellow survivors
Hell I’m half tempted to say that maybe whenever The Spy attacks from the back, the survivor he hits is instantly downed replicating the insta-kill backstabs from TF2

@@n1nsen666 Honestly i probably would as well but imagine being the killer in a custom game w your friends and you have good impersonations of them
Spies Mori would be a recreating of how he killed sniper with one of his finishing lines being random from his pool of domination lines, such as: “I merely finished what your liver started” or “This is Dwight!
I thought it could be cool if, at first, the spy is disguised as a survivor, helps the person up, then stabs them.
Then the body cloaks, like the YER
Ok but a shapeshifter killer will actually be scary. You cant even trust your own teamates. He could be you, he could be him, he could even be right behind you

Killer: The Mercenary
Speed: 115%
Height: Short (Same as a Survivor)
Terror Radius: 24m
Weapon: Butterfly Knife
Power: Tools of the Trade
Primary Ability: Disguise Kit
Over the course of 60 seconds, the power bar will fill up, successfully landing a basic attack against a survivor increases the bar by 25% (equivalent of 15 seconds of charge), when the bar is full The Mercenary can press the secondary ability button to activate the Disguise Kit for 60 seconds.
Secondary Ability: Invis-Watch
Press and hold the power button to turn invisible.
Perks:
The Sapper: Whenever you kick a generator, it gains a sapper.

The fuel lasts 60 seconds or until expended by The Pyro. The flamethrower can be used to damage survivors, setting them ABLAZE (damage over time, requiring them to put the fire out).
Attachment ideas:
Iridicent Mark II: A flamethrower that relies on liquid gasoline rather than butane gas.
+Fires an accurate jet of flame with an arc instead of a small cone. This flame has no cap on distance and has much more range than a regular flamethrower, Pyro can pretty much crossmap you across Midwich or more.
+Anything that touches it is instantly setablaze. Damage is dealt after 1.5
- Melee has 50% less charge.
Iridicent Napalm:
+Harder to extinguish
+Slightly hinders set ablase survivors
+Additional hinderance to survivors extinguishing it
+Does not extinguish itself
(might be too op) : Requires another survivor to extinguish it, you cannot self extinguish.
- Reduces reach/arc by 50%
- 0.7 sec delay on time to fire.
(how much it time it takes to damage a survivor could also be reduced)
Yes , this is pretty much the plague but needs to get basic attacks before using their ability... which is now stronger..
TL;DR:
The Mecenary balance changes:
Ability 1 & 2: unchnaged
Perks:
The Sapper: unchanged
Dead Ringer (formerly Enforcer): "You are an amateur and a fool." Upon starting chase the perk meter starts to fill.
Finally a horror based "Right Behind you" you'd think there would be more of this
Imagine the music stopping all of a sudden and you hear a...
"Right Behind you"
i feel the actual chase should be more violin forces to fit his sophisticated thing
The chase is my only issue with this tbh the build up is right up spy's alley just for the chase to be out of character for him should of kept the right behind you piano but as a supplement to the violin taking over
I think we really have to have the Pyro next. The brutality of the Pyro would fit perfectly with DBD.
Oh yes, if only Community didn't represent him as a cutie-patotie for even 1 second.
@@_the_spy_8867you know, Spy also portrayed more like a comedic or weak character. Sometimes serious. But he's never close to his canon version of character. Why we can't take the real canon Pyro, just remove all Pyroland themed things, and we'll get a pyromaniac, who's obsessed with the idea of burn you to death, just because he's excited to see the world around him burn in flames of his flamethrower.
@@_the_spy_8867People call the damn DEMOGORGAN a dog, a demo dog, and they’re bopping the rotted pig head that Pig wears! I don’t think a mad man who sees the world as sunshine lolipops and rainbows everywhere would be weird, hell could be one of his abilites
@@_the_spy_8867 I mean TBF, the Pyro is very childlike. Engie literally reads him bedtime stories and one of Miss Pauling’s contract voicelines has her talking to pyro like one would to a child.
Arson would probably be a point against the Pyro, the arson would probably be too quick
Finally, a theme that doesn't just loops the Spy's original theme over and over.
Spy's killer ability: disguise kit; whenever you hook a survivor, you take their appearance and gain undetectable. from here you can backstab a survivor to instantly put them into the dying state, losing your disguise in the process
"Sorry to pop in unannounced."
Wasn't expecting The Spy...I love this!
"What did they expect?" -The Spy
Finally, my worst fear is represented... *a french guy.*
Oh boy, another day excuse to rant about the Legion! God they dropped the ball with that trailer, making us think they could disguise as survivors. I still really want a killer that can do that...
That trailer came after the PTB for the legion.
@@Siler8272 still. Dumb trailer. (Also I didn't play the ptb so I had no clue)
I like to imagine when he picks up a survivor he disguises as heavy and slumps them over his shoulder.
Why disguise as the heavy though? He could just do that normally and it would be a lot less effort.
The Disguise Kit doesn’t exactly buff him mechanically, only make him look different!
why is this actually really fire though
Survivor perk: Not one of us
Due to your untrusting nature, you're less likely to believe who people say they are. When a survivor or the disguised Spy comes within 20 ft, you will get an alert of their presence. (This perk will deactivate any other perk that would normally activate near other player, such as Better Together or Bond.)
New Killer: Spy
New Survivor: Scout
New map: TF2
I love how it starts to get even more intense, and then the Chase part is just chaos
this is just the audio version of what my brain has looked like for the past month, DBD and TF2 hyperfixations fighting for dominance lmao
“I tried to take the German guy but he kept experimenting on my other killers”
-the entity
*maniacal german laughter is heard on the far side of the realms*
whenever i heard this for the first time, i instantly got chills during the chase sequence. then the second time, and third. REALLY creative especially with the theme surrounding the Meet The Spy film, and if Valve was a bit more courteous with the Team Fortress 2 IP nowadays, i would definitely see this in the game. Well done!
This is actually very clever! You put so much work into these!
"he could be you! he could be me! he could even be-"
*"...right behind you."*
Having a professional hunt you down instead of a maniac is more horrific because the professional has REAL SKILL
I love the idea that when Spy meets the legion he just insults their knifes and their ability to wield them.
Saying shit like, “You call that a knife?” “No no no. I am not like you. You are bunch of children playing with kitchen utensils. *I* am a professional wielding a deadly weapon.”
"Medic! medic! MEDIC! *HAAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAH*"
"Happy trails, my dead, illiterate friend!"
"May I borrow your earpiece? 'this is scout! rainbows make me cry! over!' "
"Oh, too bad this wasn't a *PIE-EATING CONTEST*!"
"Go to hell, and take your CHEAP suit with you!"
"Good day to you, MATE! *HAHAAHAHAHAHAHAHA*"
"Good lord! you fight like a woman!"
"Oh soldier, who will they ever find to replace you? *ANYONE*! *HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA*"
"I have three things that you do not: a *FUNCTIONING* liver, depth perception, and A PULSE!"
That works too 🤷♂️
AMOGUS
it would be so interesting having a character like spy in DbA, like a normal human, doing what monsters are doing, driven by only one goal, money
It would make sense to have a DbD and TF2 crossover. Spy is the killer, and scout could be the survivor, with a higher move speed be being fragile himself, and maybe some fun movement options
Merasmus skin for Vecna when? 🥺
2036
gonna be a party pooper here
the answer is never, because not only it's a licensed character, it's also a skin that would have to be free, because valve doesn't want people profiting from their games
therefore we'd end up with a skin that can only be obtained by paying an obscene amount of iridescent shards
@@spaceacepl4636 real
I really like the percussion in the chase part, wonderful!
Spinal Departure,
Basically his backstab ability instantly killing players,
Constant Disguise,
He can choose to be one of the survivors as a disguise when does anything but vault, hide or run the disguise will effectively wear off and finally
Hidden Attention,
Basically his invis-watch from TF2
this started auto-playing and I didn't realize it and I actually flinched, so good job
(P.S: This goes extra hard if you play the very near part of the song while reading this. 2:49 )Hey guys now that spy makes sense, what about the medic, think about it, hes immortal, steals people souls and entire skeletal structures, and is german, how much more evil can you get, and all the entity has to do to get him is promise to give him some organs here and their, or even just let him take it from the survivors.
For the mento mori he should throw pictures of the survivors mothers on their dead bodies
Nah it should be him finishing the survivor off with the revolver before doing his disguise kit taunt where he discards cigarette onto their dead bodies before taking out a new cigarette (maybe with the rare chance of spycrabbing)
@@mapleflag6518 If you look up you should be able to do the spycrab one.
"He could be anyone of us"- Dwight
It could be you , it's couldn't be me
Idea
His ability can be to shortly disguise as a player (he cant kill in this state but he can still get close to players)
The spy is how I originally thought legion would work with the disguises shown in the trailer
The Spy is only terrifying when you can't find him, otherwise, he'll find you...
The spy in the game would be way too OP considering his abilities from both game and "Meet the Spy".
pennywise and the ting will join the game at some point imagine pennywise the thing and spy in the game three shapeshifter killers meet
spy: who are you two pennywise: why am pennywise pennywise the dancing clown spy: alright pennywise: and this is my shapeshifter friend the thing the thing: …
A killer that could disguise himself as a survivor sounds ridiculously tense. Some of his items could translate really well too. Sappers damage gens. Invis watch is obvious, but the Dead Ringer might work to fake out a stun and have him cloak after it...that should probably be on a very high cooldown.
the most normal killer
Powers:
Sapper: Can Sap a Generator once per kill, requiring it to be repaired a second time
Cloak: Can go invisible and reposition.
Disguise: Can become any of the living survivors.
Spy sappin my survival
Bro killer that will backstab for an insta down you if your not facing him is scary half way through typing this I realize moonwalking would be the only counter
But what if you moonwalk into the killer from behind on accident?
Imagine just trying to help your friend on the engine only for him to stand up and stab you in the back
OML IS IT THE SPY FROM THE HIT GAME TF2
Being able to disguise as the survivors would be such a cool ability
This is such an awesome theme!! I agree with other comments, is that The Spy would be the more unsettling type as he's not in for the sick satisfaction. You're just another hit on his list.
Now that i think of it, i wonder how a chase theme would be for say ... a Bobby from "We Happy Few"? From the Nightwatch gamemode we can see Bobby's do their jobs effectively, and swiftly, so i wonder how that'd transfer to DBD!
As an Engi main, Spy can already be pretty horrifying in very Resident Evil ways.
Imagine him in Day by Daylight now... 💀
One shudders to imagine what inhuman thoughts lie behind that mask
What dreams of chronic and sustained cruelty?
(I know its from meet the pyro, but it fits)
I thought that mask that the spy is holding i thought that was sniper,s face
For The Spy, I imagine he'd be like Wraith but impossible to see cloaked, works like his cloak (limited timed meter that can refill), instant downing players not looked at, and can disguise himself as the survivors
And the moment we've been all wanting for,
INTRUDER ALERT A RED SPY IN THE BASE
RED SPY IN THE BASE!?
I would imagine part of his kit woult be a sapper that takes a little time to apply to a gen but then degrades it faster/ requires more repair time to stop the regression. Disguising as survivors and maybe a timed thing like dredge or freddy that forces survivors into first person to make backstabs possible (maybe disabled by finding the spy's invis watch somewhere on the map).
”Your deadly skill is jogging? Mine is *murdering people.”*
The concept would be AMAZING, the only problem is, and it’s plagued the game since survive with friends, voice comms would make him fucking UNPLAYABLE
ITS ONLY A MATTER OF TIME! WE FINALLY GOT FNAF. SOON SPY FROM TF2 TOO!!!
