Van is the best thing that has come out of modern popular music - true genius.
I changed my mind about Van after seeing him live locally. He guested with Lonnie who was the warm up act. Thing is everyone was in the bar and couldn't be bothered going through to see Lonnie. This pretty much pissed Van off big time. So Van's set was defo cut short and there was zero audience interaction and no talking between songs. Very disconnected. He basically punished his fans who had paid hard earned to see him. The thing that finally did it was this interview; ruclips.net/video/QVHbUPNcTiU/видео.html
Van channels Godly energy. He's a treasure and we are blessed.

One of many examples.
I’ve never seen Van Morrison as a young man singing. What a bad ass. I really get his performance “ power to the musicians with so much passion “. For me the only other singer I’ve ever seen perform like that is Tom Petty I love the song unique and definitely to the point. Very interesting and i intoxicating. ♥️✌️
Probably one of the best live performances ever recorded
A Van and Rovers fan. Excellent.
I agree
Have you actually listened to what he’s singing about? And that young child on the stage. What a sicko .. yuck
agreed.
van morrison and blackburn rovers MY TWO LOVES
Bandleader, extraordinaire. GENIUS. Those guys follow his lead. Neil Diamond did the same. This album is pure magic and this should be a bluray DVD.
Bloody hell Van cracks a smile at 5:53 wonders will never cease
He always does Incredible arrangements of his songs. The band is always tight.
Mind-blowing arrangements.
Absovanthemanlutely
No words can explain how good this is....there shouldn't be any comments...just watch in awe..vans the man
There shouldn't be any comments yet you commented
@@robertjenkins2816 And so did you. So that nullifies his comment.
Many fine words have been spoken and great things written about by Celtic cousin Van The man and they are all very correct, Van is a total music man and like no other, he feels his music deep down in to his soul, it is very real to him, never make make the mistake of asking Van what his songs mean, they are his prayers, Van is like a free-thinking man from the wild mountains of Connemara speaking his poetry, People will not understand at the first time of seeing or hearing but something will happen later as his songs will also sink down in to your soul and get locked in your memory forevermore.
He’s a free speaking man from the wilds of Belfast and that’s good enough for me 😁
Prayers in poetry form?
A musical genius for over five decades.....
Six now
Up to this point in time in my listening to this beautiful man, Van Morrion...I really am charged over this presentation, I love the way Van uses his Voice, I love seeing the zest of the Musicians also. Thanks for finding this one; very inspiring.
Holy crap this guy is on fire wow! I'm so glad that he put out a four disc box set of that 1973 tour in 2016+ the 1974 release as a two CD set in the same year! I love this box set called it's too late to stop now!! Van Morrison is THE MAN!!! THEM are cool as well!!
It's called a double disc collection, not box set, don't confuse people.
@@musicfanhawk4523 he did put out a 3cd and 1 dvd box set besides the 2cd original.....
Everyone smoking, everyone playing great, no costume changes or dancing. Better days--
Well the only thing was wrong back then was the smoking! THAT IS AN ADVANCE sociaty made!
There are 7.753 billion people on planet earth... and this video only has 201,074 views. I feel pretty lucky!
This gets better every time I hear it!! A definite fav! Love it!! Van was wound up for sure!!
Yes yes yes!!!
Van Morrison must have been the first sound I heard, I bet. Waaay before I knew what language was. So I guess he's like the ground on my sound landscape.
it'not simply music, it'a art at its highest level!!!!!!!!!!!!! We're talking about the great Van "The Man" Morrison and his incredible band, ladies and gentlemen, hats off!!
My all time favourite album.
Watch this every couple of months, randomly, And it is always a joy.
I love when those strings come in 😍 chillssssss ✨💫
I cannot wait to see this film. This is, by some distance, the greatest live album, ever.
I could not agree more. The sleeve of’y copy has been taped so many times.
FANTASTIC MUSIC---- MAGNIFICENTLY ARTISTIC PERFORMANCE!
The great Van the man.
9 minutes and 21 seconds of bliss
I was working in Belfast. I was bored sitting in my hotel room wondering what to do and I had a brain wave, put Cyprus avenue in sat nav in van and see if it takes me there. To my surprise it was 5 mins down the road. I walked up and down the avenue of trees and the song needed no radio or player it played perfectly in my head. It was a perfect beautiful sunny day I'll never forget. Thanks Van the man for the best album ever made. ❤️
Oooh yeah - true words there
Best live album ever!
Did he tell his bassist to "get your bag" at 3:50?
Sounds like it😄
f*ing brilliant!
The woman playing the cello is so damn gorgeous...
Terry Adams and she still performs with Van, watch Celtic New Year.
The cameraman seems to agree with you
She's also on Joni Mitchell's 'Ladies Of The Canyons'.
I wonder how many of us who saw this when it was first broadcast as an OGWT film instantly fell in love with Terry Adams the cellist. I know I did.
Oh yes.

A musical giant who justs purrs with class
The girl with the long blond hair looked like
Me when l was young...However l played
First chair clarinet.
This is 😎 awesome...
You are so beautiful, Victoria!
Around 1976 that entire concert was broadcast live on the Old Grey Whistle Test and simulcast of FM radio in stereo. I think it may have been the first time that had been done. I recorded it from FM on to my Akai reel to reel recorder. I think I may still have the tape. I eventually bought the record which I still have. The man is a genius, a true performer, I learned so much from him. While my friends were listening to Black Sabbath I was listening to VM, so different, complex, subtle at times and music that lifts the soul, yes it’s SOUL MUSIC. He changed my musical tastes forever. Thank you VM.
great share !! very cool slice of history, thank you.
Hey Black Sabbath is OK too
i remember when it was on the telly on Whistle test...i was 14 and was a Sabbath fan but could see something else in Van ..been a fan ever since ...few yrs before that he stayed for a while in my home town Arklow Ireland ...he wote the Streets of Arklow on Veedon Fleese ....he pronounces the word school as scoile here ..the irish word for school...what a briiant band
@@peterbyrne178 Yeh..watched it too. Happy memories!
Totally! Love the man and the band.
Perfection. Can you imagine being there!
The lyrics...this song...woah.
What a king Van the man is
I saw him live in 1973 and 1974…..he zoned out on Cyprus Avenue and the band was amazingly tight…..he went into a Dylan Thomas trance, muttering poetry……it was something else…..and the song just went on and on……👏👏👏👏great journey down memory lane 👏👏👏🥂
🗣 *The ‘Holy Ghost’ is working through Van!*
*The Man the mystic, poet & prophet!*
#GodsInstrument! 💯🇮🇪🎵🎵
Van Morrison, a one off. They broke the mould when they made him.
The beautiful cellist, 3:43, is Terry Adams💕
She's also on Joni Mitchell's 'Ladies Of The Canyons'.
He is my energy from the past and presently felt.
❤❤❤❤
Cannot believe Van is taking puffs inbetween lyrics. Probably why he lost his high falsetto in his later years. Smoking is not good for a singer, especially one as great as Van Morrison. Is that his daughter, Shana, on tambourine? Legendary performance captured on film. It was too late to stop now….
I have watched this once and it's my favorite video on RUclips
It's all over now, that song got me hooked on van when I was 16yrs old. now at 73 I still listen to the master!!
Still to this day I love the 🎻
This is pure 🔥. The feelings he evokes is like magic, you can’t fight the journey he is taking on own. Full surrender.
Too Late to Stop Now on 8 track, driving a 1972 240z. Music in the 70s was so good... I loved this tape.
Its so nice to see Van smile and have fun on stage.
....and he's smoking a cigarette the whole time. Damn!!!
Van was on fire
Van the Man saves me
At 6:40....too much man, just too much! It's like he gonna propel the entire band and audience straight into the stratosphere!
Beautifull new song, 1000% Van the Man.
Spectacular in every way. ❤️🎶
Wowzers. Thanks for uploading, Vevo people. 8)
codeword: railroad.
Belfast Cowboy. Forever fan.
This is just magical. I can even smell the cigarettes they are smoking. Love Van the Man.
This is so good!
And I'll go walking by the railroad, with my cherry, with my cherry wine.🌸💃
Heaven.
David Hayes has to loosen up a bit doesn't he.
Wish I knew the story behind "shot glasses of Nivea cream?"
Simply WOW!
Fuck this shit.....there is no vocabulary to describe this.....awesome is not right ......unreal......haunting music....beautiful
Dammmmnnnn! Van The Man and how bout that band?!!!
4:03 = my ADHD when I need to work on something.
Magnificent! So good it’s nearly unbelievable! Love all of them. Van The Man! Whew! Mercy!
All this about a 14-year-old schoolgirl.
Remember the good old days? - when all the musicians weren't dressed in black?
Love this song love VM x
I love Van Morrison...but only in the 70s... Everyone is smoking and a kid is on stage. LOL!
What do you admire most about Van
Has there ever been a white man who could sing soul and the blues like Van the Man?
No never and likely never will be
Bobby Hatfield, Bill Medley
Eric Burdon.
Fabulosamente unico!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
James Brown level of intensity. Very impressive.
Van l just want you to know that someone keeps contacting me claiming it is you.
I would like to believe it, but dontt.
Alot of fakes on the internet.
Great Album
Get yourself a girl with a smile like the 3:27 mark

That's Sir Van the Man

Van the Man is the goat 🐐
♥️
Wrong subtitles sometimes. What an album
nearly all my music heroes seemed to be smoking. some things have improved.
Frightened bands play better
@TheHumanSpeciesIsAPlague NotMeantToBeInExistence Van Morrison is dictatorial with his band members. But it works!
Best version
Van’s response to the girl coming on the stage...totally ignored her 😂 pure Belfast
Exactly
Working here love....back to your mammy.
It's his daughter Shana
@@edm781 Shana is steeped in music. Thats why she is so good. Its second nature, actually first nature to her.
A musical artist 🩷🎶🍀
The lady playing the bass fiddle is three things: 1)Gorgeous 2)Very talented 3)And having a complete blast!
That's a cello.
That's cellist Theresa "Terry" Adams who reappears with Van on the Jools Holland show when he plays "Celtic New Year" from his 2005 album "Magic Time" (she doesn't actually play on that album, just on the show)...oh and by the way, she's still stunning !
THANKS,@@lyndamcardle4123! ruclips.net/video/aLk6mOr49_4/видео.html&ab_channel=Woolhall
You forgot to mention a great smile.
