When I was 14 years old I remember waking up one Sunday morning to this playing on my mother's DVD player with the surround sound pumping. It's by far the most remembered experience of waking up one morning I'll ever have in my life... Edit: at the time i was just starting to smoke weed and had one of my first wake and bakes. And I distinctly remember the joint hitting perfect around the 2:11 mark
This song deserves more love. The bassist and the organ really bring this song alive. A truly great concert. I love how Van's singing seems to blend with the horn players in the concert. His voice is almost like a third horn.
This song was released over 15years before I was born, it’s beautiful how timeless his music is. It’s like the Holy Spirit plays music through him as he is the instrument. Any time I listen to the Common One album I completely forget about the world around. Bless your soul Van Morrison
I saw this tour in Amsterdam 8 days before this. Its so wonderful to revisit this fantastic music experience. He played Madame George in Amsterdam which is one of my favourite songs on Astral Weeks. What a fantastic band!!!
Van may have had all this in his hands, but the feel for each solo, the way that band (back then), knew, how to coincide, was extreme magic/extreme faith in each other, feel for the groove. Best ever... But let's face it; Montreaux, from 1973 - 1980 was Van's masterpiece, as far as live music was concerned. Greatest period, greatest love for him!! ❤
Van the Man. Ethereal. A Spiritual experience. In a timeless moment when the soul joins the "Great Connection" and you realize everything you were told is true but not the way they said it was.
Best part, Alexa and Siri play on command. Live with Van is an exceptional experience we/he should share. One thing is hearing it….another thing is feeling it.
@@janhensley3617 Indeed...moreover, there's so much space for all the musicians to make their own mark on the song....I really like the "Common One" album ...
If you’re not feeling this, you don’t have a soul. Love you Van. Love to the band! 💚🙏❤️
When your giving up hope and you turn. Spirit never dies.
When You're giving up hope, and you're down in despair .............. Spirit don't ever die ...........
Jeah! ! I i think so peaceful and never dead the spirit! Diana zwahlen ch
That hammond takes you to church, even if just for a moment
This is a religious experience. Probably the best intro to a song that I’ve ever heard.

Bueno, teniendo en cuenta que sólo escucháis música en inglés no tiene ningún valor lo que dices, gilipollas.

Love when the cut to Van just with a cig enjoying the music, the boys were really feeling it on this one
The organist (John) is next level. With his energy and passion that he has it really does lift your spirits. Same with the basist.
That's John Allair (in the Arsenal football shirt) and long time collaborator David Hayes on (his unique hollowbody electro/acoustic bass).
the entire band flows with the Spirit

It's a great album, isn't it? It really does take you elsewhere. Astral Weeks is the only other album of his that can do that for me.
@Jeff Amen.
