Why do i weep everytime i listen to Van? I am in my 70's now. I have listened to 100's of generas of music. I can't think of anyone with the depth or width of career that can surpass him. I think of guys like Gordon Lightfoot, Bob Dylan, and groups like the Stones....long long careers...excellent musicians and writers....but i will forever choose Van as my favorite. So blessed to live in his era. It is not just his poetry or the notes that fall upon my ears....his mastery of mixing sounds that create just the right moods....his philosophy of the Irish soul...our propensity to wallow in the melancholy....ai ya...

I was living on a 150 ft. steel hulled sailing vessel in 1973, called the Invader, docked outside The Rum Runner Restaurant in San Pedro, California, an area of mothballed Navy Vessels, dirty rusting boats, and an adjacent huge parking lot with abandoned Winnebagos and some with people living in them. ( "If this van's a rocking' , don't bother knocking."). I was a carpenter refurbishing a legendary boat that once held the TransPac record for fastest time from Los Angeles , California to Hawaii...It was a Saturday night, and I went on top of the wheelhouse to listen and watch a music show on a 13 " black and white TV. Van Morrison was on, and played one hell of a set...Then he left, and came back for an encore. Almost immediately, the TV began vibrating, and the picture was vibrating and shaking, and Van was singing, and I was wondering what the hell was going on.? An earthquake, some natural disaster, what ? Then I realized....Van had raised the vibration of the program to a level where everyone, including the musicians and TV technicians had gone into a musical trance of the level beyond the third dimension. Will never forget that time...A warm summer night...

The 12 straight studio albums that began with “Wavelength” (1979) and concluded with “Hymns to the Silence” (1991), were an incomparable run of what is, in my opinion, the most exquisite, moving, spiritually charged music ever made - certainly matchless in the history of popular music. I experienced this music profoundly, and it literally changed my life. I am forever grateful for those records, for Van Morrison, and for the Muse that captured his soul throughout that era.

Tastes vary, but i will argue this is the best music video ever. A group of great musicians playing a great song, and not a wasted, or superfluous note in the entire song. Even the tiny little few seconds of the triangle is given the space that it deserves. No attention seeking, just artists making art.

Id like to find out if its really you, but first i guess i need to prove to You, by what i have been able to remember, with the help of your songs, that its really me. Only we know what we shared in the earliest years, so ill tell you a few things only we could possibly know. I have an identifying mark, a secret sign. The last time we were together, You said to me, "Come see me all saints day!" You gave me a squishy rubber indian man doll with a biglong nose holding a rubber tomahawk, i considered then at my very young age, possible nicknames, such as madam George, boffyflow, and a few others, you are aware og. Out of great respect and consideration for You, i need to reconnect and talk with you in person again, i have been putting little bits of info under yourmusic videos off and on now from place to place so you may know im out here, and hoping we will walk and talk together in person, quietly again one day sooner than later. Van Morrison Live at Montreux 1980 is the greatest live album of all time, period. Dwarfs the Allman Brothers' Live at Fillmore East and so many others. The live performances he gave after The Healing Game with Brian Kennedy and Katie Kissoon on backing vocals were great too, but this is just peak Van. Other than Astral Weeks and Moondance, Common One and Wavelength are his two best albums IMHO. These are nine masters at their absolute best.

So far, nobody's chimed in. But I'm still waiting. Van still rules. Hopefully we won't be annihilated by Russia or China before I get answers. God save us all.

The creepiest thing happened just now. I am listening to Van, ready to leave house in couple of minutes and do exercise outside. I scrolled down, didn't see your comment at first, I told my brother to give me my phone and cable to transfer some of Van's music before I go. And then I looked into the screen and saw your comment. I am twenty-five and over weight, gained weight in the last two years of no smoking. Life is strange sometimes :D

Ive loved Van/ George, ever since i was 3 years old in 1959 ! One of my self made nick names then, was Madam George. Van was George. Other potential names were Boffyflow, and Spike. He said if we got separated, I would know it was George (Van), when i heard someone on the Radio singing "Hard Nose The Highway"! I found Van trying to find me again with his amazing personally meaningful Songs for 1/2 of my lifetime now. Im still lost, but Vans songs helped me to remember when i was very young, when we were closely connected as far back as 1959. No one has ever cared for me so much. And i still dont know how to find my way back home to the one i loved then, and will always love and respect. Im so long lost, lonely and misunderstood by everyone ive known since . Only Van Morrison can verify, what ive remembered to be True. Please help Us find each other again asap ?
