Putting together pics and vids of her together for a tribute to what she meant to our family and I came across this song again. Perfect! We all are Scot-irish born and bred at the northern end of Appalachia in Pennsylvania. Sometimes it takes a great dog and a timeless song to hit you real deep.
Great wee dug . I had 3 West Highland Terriers which are basically Cairn Terriers bred to be pure white . I miss them and when I see a Cairn or a Westie I always crack a wee smile . Love from the Scottish Borders

Jennifer I got lucky as I was born in Belfast and in my teens had Van and his group Them as part of the great music scene He stood apart and still does. We were so lucky He still sounds good here In Thailand where I now live.
Van knows it. Music is ageless. Credit to the band and specially the drummer and bass who keep it in the pocket in the driven back while the others splash in and out of the canvas. This truly defines a fun jam session.
Just discovered Van Morrison, “Days like this” played on the TV and my 7 week old stopped instantly stopped crying. Found this song and he fell asleep!
Van Morrison. Right from the beginning,Van never let anyone dictate what his music should be, no matter who they were and alot tried. He ruffled alot of feathers, but so what. That's what happens when a genius won't conform. I thank him for that, because I have been listening to him for over 50yrs and his music has always , right up to today, at his age of 74/75 been original. This incredible musical jam is an example of his uncompromising musical creativity and we are the lucky benefactors of it, because we get to listen.Love the man and his music and thank him for all the awesome music he has shared with us.Thx. so much for posting this incredible piece of Van's music. Go Well!
Soul music my friend! A different way of communicating that, for me, brings out the echoes whispering in those canyons of my mind. that rarely see the light of day or moonlight!
Back in the early 2000's, Van's music (specifically Astral Weeks, Moondance, His Band And The Street Choir, Veedon Fleece and Tupelo Honey) got me through a really bad time. Purchased the first four on vinyl, gonna get Tupelo Honey next...one of the Top Five gretest white soul/R & B singers ever.
I'm completely stunned by this sublime track. I stumbled across it today, had never heard it before, though I'm a huge VM fan. Balm for the soul, I've been listening to it all day and my heart got lighter and lighter and my mood brighter and brighter. Perfect Covid-blues antidote. Thank you ,Van the Man ❣️
Me too, and tbh the first time (I remember) seeing a pic of him when young very deep man obviously from his music but also can see it in his face. A true Musician Our Minstrel 😊☘️
My life feels better for having found this piece of magic. Never before has a piece of music fed my soul as deeply as this. What an absolute masterpiece! ✌💛🙌
i thought i had heard most of what mr morrison had to offer then stumbled across this amazing soulful vibe of a song.... my aunt is the music guru and had shown me poetic champion album and also hymns to the soul the other weekend at thanksgiving up north..... jammed it out on the lakeside deck and she said this is what your grandfather( who i never had the privlidge of knowning) used to listen to and love.... she was surprised that this is what her eldest nephew listened to .... timelesss music which ill share with my children when the time comes..... thank you mr van morrison.
46 yo here. Found Van the Man 10 years ago, First time listening to this song. Most romantic music there is, even if she will remain a fantasy forever.... Thenks Van and happy 75th.
If I were u and he has the same effect on you as me, I would take the time to search everything he has done and PLAYLIST!! He has his own groove/ tone going and u can hear the south and Louisiana...some Cajun I have listened to him for 35 years and and still love him just the same.
A peaceful powerful song, long enough to meditate to! And just wait till you read the comments. Tear jerker guys. This is why the system tries to keep humans in fear because THIS is how powerful LOVE is. Much love to you all.
This is the best song I have ever listened to on RUclips. I'm left speechless and dumbfounded at the same time at the groovy nature of the beat with the accompanying hypnotic melodies and occasional outbursts of faint vocals. This is the bomb. It's a potpourri of every musical genre. You've got a little bit of soul, blues, jazz and country all infused into this song of joy and happiness. Caledonia Soul Music, that's what it's called. I've played it over three times and I can't seem to get enough of it.
Van has a special gift of unique music and lyrics. Amongst the many many albums there are many deeply profound pieces of work. Once your hooked........its too late to stop
Stumbled by sheer accident upon this at 2 am after sleepless and restless night. Been listening to Van since the days of Gloria ( my mums name and we played it at her funeral (RIP). This tune shows Van at his shamanic best. A healer of lost souls and a voice from the gods. Vans the man .....
This randomly came up on my RUclips playlist. I can’t believe I have never heard this song before. Worked on home projects all day and then sat down on my back patio to chill out and then song came on. Perfect song to relax too. Like almost everyone else who has commented, I am also amazed at how soothing this song is. I figured I would throw my 2 cents in 🧐
Am now what most would call an old person..but through it all..l will never stop being astounded by “van the man” and what he does for music…can l hear a hallelujah…enjoy..from Canada..🇨🇦.
Rainy Day Covid-19 brought me here too! I started with "Let the Slave (incorporating The Price of Experience") and youtube autoplay led me here via "Listen to the Lion" Never heard this one before - it's blown me away!
Van Morrison's energetic musical brilliance brings rays of hope, honesty and mysticism to those who are prepared to listen to one of the greatest performing musicians of our time. Old Hippie Cape Town.
Needed to hear his music this morning!!! Reminds me of my best friend who passed away a year ago! Man we both loved all genres of music, sitting on a nice patio and sipping on some adult beverages!!! God I miss her!!!!
First bought this on a cassette (with plain brown wrapper) back in the day, its from Pacific High Studio 1971 sessions. Sublime, why its never been officially released is beyond me.
I'm still wondering why "Beautiful Vision Outtakes" was never released. I think is Mark Knopfler on guitar for "Daring Night 1" with vocals (and DN2 instrumental) that BLOWS AWAY the studio version. I won't question The Man's reasoning for the released studio version, but VERY GLAD to have Outtakes.. I got two copies and have kept them in both the car and truck CD players for a few years now.
Under duress mainly due to the U.K. lockdown -Government lack of consideration to prior warnings, waved away they did indeed,Lancet journal because it would cost £175m for research. But this music helps...
I can relate. Traveling and letting the you tube select and damn did they do good. In my eyes (&ears) this is right up there with Neils Down by the River. Don't get no better!
Im in my 30's Just now discovering Neil Young, Van Morrison and everything around that, if i have kids ill make sure this makes it into their ears early on so they can carry it onto the next generation
Don't forget about Bob...start with "Bringing it all back home" and "Highway 61 revisited" then try "Blonde on Blonde"...The Holy Trinity "Van The Man", "Neil" then the incomparable "Bob Dylan"...Good Listening time for you...I wish I was discovering them, all over again! You have an amazing journey ahead of You...Have a great time!!!
@Don Montgomery For Sure Don! "On The Beach" is also my favourite Neil Young album...in that song "Ambulance Blues" there is a lyric that says "I'm up in T.O. keepin' jive alive" that is a reference to Toronto Canada where I grew up! Cheers!
And fenix, please check out the 2nd album by "The Band" they played with Dylan during his changing of modern music...they call it the Brown album...it is literally the best americana album ever made!!
Stumbling on to tracks like this makes me so happy. The quality and separation is really nice. Just sounds like a jam session in a late night recording or something
My dad just sent me this tune at the perfect time… when we chill and have a few it’s a thing we do talk with out talkin just jammin out. He never lets me down always on point 😎🍻 to cool dads that get their kids and thank you van for a tasty tune that hit the spot I was needin. 🍻🍻
My dad left this place last year. I play music now that I know he loved because he can still feel the vibe. What a send off song you gave your dad...beautiful!!
I have loved this man and his amazing music for over 50 years and he just gets better and better. He is definitely the Best of the Best. He fills and soul and swells my heart with his beautiful music
So beautifully shared .. thank you .. I first heard Van in '64 with Them .. Gloria, the song I learned to play guitar to .. I was 14 .. He is a true Master .. An Artist .. tempremental and driven and so very sharing of his soul .. he has the ability to help heal souls with his musical artistry .. Van is a true 'state of mind' .. Namaste, sister.
Such a big smile I have from this comment but more importantly I am healed by this song after a 12 he day in healthcare, and I am 65. These days need slot of healing
61 sheets to the wind and yet I missed this one all these years. Thank you. Haven Heidbrink. Sultan wa. My other paper cup is a 47 foot Halleberg-Rossi. Blue water song.
This would be lost for ever without RUclips/modern technology. When would you ever hear this on MSM? Never. So lucky to be born at a time when this music was created and able to listen to it at our leisure. A truly lucky generation. Thank you VM and all the others that made this piece of true genius.
The days of digging through bins, buying stuff based on the front and back cover and sharing bootlegs were fun an all but the sheer volume at out fingertips nowadays is something special. Cheers
Van Morrison----WOW to the cresendo; great!!!!!! I absolutely LOVE this; could listen to this for HOURS on end. Musicians you have to put more of this STYLE together for 2021...I am waiting very patiently. I am still waiting for more of this , 10/22/2021--come on please!
Attended 2 funerals in the past week - right now I decided to let my friends and family know..I'd be delighted to ..trust they put this song on..then have a toast...and move-wave-dance-swing-sing- moan-groan- smile smile joyyyy
This performance takes me to heights I want to visit more frequently. Thank you God for artists, and their numerous gifts you gave them to share with humanity throughout "time." I say in the name of my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. Amen
I always believed that I knew all the great pieces of Van, those lengthy chants which are unique singularities. And after all these decades as well known companions in my life I get a new one to hear. What a gift, thank you so very much. Hugs and kisses.
Never heard this before,?..... Van is with me when i,m down Van is with me when i,m happy Van is with me when i cry Van is with me when i smile For 45 years now ,know one has been with me for that long !Thanks you so much Van
Always been a fan of Van, but I found this song about 2 years ago by accident, it just came on while I was trolling RUclips. Makes me think of my dad who passed away from cancer 8 years ago. My dad taught me to love good music of all genres. He would listen to music & hear all the different instruments within the song & point them out to me. Listening to this song my dad would have loved it!!! So many sounds within the song & yet it all comes together perfectly! I love how Van left it as though they all just gathered around, picked up their instruments & just jammed, leaving all its perfection & subtle imperfections, which make it that much more enjoyable. Brings tears of joy to my eyes as I reminisce about my dad & his love for music. Already told my family I want this song playing in the background during my funeral services 😂. Love It….
I think I found my " Zen Moment ". I call this Van Meditation!!! But I am having a hankering for a little swaying and floating. My cat brought me here. It's his favorite song to start his day to. That now explains his sunglasses and his chilled sunbath.

I hate this constant underrated comment. Underrated by whom exactly ? He has a knighthood, he was alway appreciated by the critics and his fellow musicians and he has millions of fans all over the world. His music was featured in films and series with great succes and he is a millionaire, if that is underrated I want to be underrated too.

Well said! He has that effect in me too.
It’s just the Belfast in him,I,m the same...
Jennifer I got lucky as I was born in Belfast and in my teens had Van and his group Them as part of the great music scene He stood apart and still does. We were so lucky He still sounds good here In Thailand where I now live.
What a wonderful comment on Van and the beautiful things in life that money can’t buy. You seem like a beautiful soul.
I love the man and his music. Been listening to him all my life. I’m 74
Well as a man he is truly and considerably flawed. As an artist he is peerless.
First heard him when living in London when 21! Still listening to him at 69. Love it all !!
I was living in Finsbury Park in 2021.
Hahaha, I mean WHEN I was 21.
Exact same....21 & 69
Van knows it. Music is ageless. Credit to the band and specially the drummer and bass who keep it in the pocket in the driven back while the others splash in and out of the canvas. This truly defines a fun jam session.
"It's all about the bass."
These guy's are tight.......
I went to like your comment but I see I already did a year ago....cheers
I love them lyrics ❤🙏
Words don't describe just how perfectly flawless this is
Just discovered Van Morrison, “Days like this” played on the TV and my 7 week old stopped instantly stopped crying. Found this song and he fell asleep!
This song resonates with our souls and we are drawn into the muse. It’s a reminder that we are all brothers and sisters. Peace out.
Amen! Peace within!
You label
JESUS THE ALMIGHTY
to be the liar that satan actually is.
My wife sent this link to me, and she is not even a VM fan. She said •listen to this, it’s amazing”. She was not wrong. Love my wife.
Go Well!
Pragmatic, poignant and sincere.

Beautiful written!
We listen to this beautiful voice around 50 year’s, and beyond 🌈🌴👍
Thank you ,Van the Man ❣️
I discovered it two weeks ago and I agree with every one of your words. The wife thought it was weird, but to me it's sublime.
Didn’t even know it was him. Just by chance it’s on a playlist from too many whisky cos i don’t remember. Just a class tune.
Enjoy your day/ night
Laughing, also stumbled across this track, but only on the 12th April 2021, which is the bigger sin?
Yes Diana!!!
Me too, and tbh the first time (I remember) seeing a pic of him when young very deep man obviously from his music but also can see it in his face.

My life feels better for having found this piece of magic. Never before has a piece of music fed my soul as deeply as this. What an absolute masterpiece! ✌💛🙌
This song is a soul balm, I feel it every time I hear it.
I love the music of Van Morrison for as long as I can remember but just discovered this one. It IS a masterpiece!
i thought i had heard most of what mr morrison had to offer then stumbled across this amazing soulful vibe of a song.... my aunt is the music guru and had shown me poetic champion album and also hymns to the soul the other weekend at thanksgiving up north..... jammed it out on the lakeside deck and she said this is what your grandfather( who i never had the privlidge of knowning) used to listen to and love.... she was surprised that this is what her eldest nephew listened to .... timelesss music which ill share with my children when the time comes..... thank you mr van morrison.
I thought i've heard his songs allready... than this one pops up..... what a masterpiece love it ❤🙏

I'm 62. How did 62 year slip by? Well the next 37 will be better now that I found Caledonia Soul Music.
ruclips.net/video/eEFPX-uTbkI/видео.html this is another rare special Van song, should extend you to 120 or 140 minimum.
46 yo here. Found Van the Man 10 years ago, First time listening to this song. Most romantic music there is, even if she will remain a fantasy forever.... Thenks Van and happy 75th.
If I were u and he has the same effect on you as me, I would take the time to search everything he has done and PLAYLIST!! He has his own groove/ tone going and u can hear the south and Louisiana...some Cajun I have listened to him for 35 years and and still love him just the same.
agreed
I so agree... This tune calls me to compassion for my brother's and sisters...
A peaceful powerful song, long enough to meditate to! And just wait till you read the comments. Tear jerker guys. This is why the system tries to keep humans in fear because THIS is how powerful LOVE is. Much love to you all.
One of life's gifts is the magic of beautiful music. How fortunate we are to hear this.
This song is like a soul balm, it makes you levitate.
Amen Brother
This is the most wonderful piece of music. Ever! You can hear and feel the joy!
You got Van The Man.....

Just so darn lovely!
Looks like you have caught Vanits, unfortunately no known cure, a little bit of Dylan helps but nothing else works
Just stumbled on this myself Gordon. Huge fan too but never heard this track. He does wonders for soul. 👍👍🇬🇧.
Not a weak link in any arrangement. He surrounds himself with brilliance. It elevates him.
The comments section of any Morrison song is always so mystical and describing some beautiful moment the song triggered! I love this man!
The best medicine for the heart and soul of an old lady! Every night a concert!
I'm so glad I just smoked a joint a few minutes ago. Excellent timing! LOVE this! Stay safe, Oct 2020. London UK.
Van thinks the lockdowns are an overreach and unnessacary. He wrote several songs to express these sentiments.
Ditto!!!!!!!
Ditto to itsonlyme1
already a few over n over thx
@@jerkball07 it's lame, but oh well. Love the art not the artist.
This randomly came up on my RUclips playlist. I can’t believe I have never heard this song before. Worked on home projects all day and then sat down on my back patio to chill out and then song came on. Perfect song to relax too. Like almost everyone else who has commented, I am also amazed at how soothing this song is. I figured I would throw my 2 cents in 🧐
Well I hope you know due to inflation.. it's going to cost you a buck I don't make up the rules...

not much of pieces of music you listen to for the first time...and then keep listening to it for the next 3 hours...simply genius
Am now what most would call an old person..but through it all..l will never stop being astounded by “van the man” and what he does for music…can l hear a hallelujah…enjoy..from Canada..🇨🇦.

Van Morrison's energetic musical brilliance brings rays of hope, honesty and mysticism to those who are prepared to listen to one of the greatest performing musicians of our time. Old Hippie Cape Town.
This song is like a soul balm, it makes you levitate.
@@hamiltonmil van the man ou boet
Needed to hear his music this morning!!! Reminds me of my best friend who passed away a year ago! Man we both loved all genres of music, sitting on a nice patio and sipping on some adult beverages!!! God I miss her!!!!
First bought this on a cassette (with plain brown wrapper) back in the day, its from Pacific High Studio 1971 sessions. Sublime, why its never been officially released is beyond me.
because folks wouldnt know good music if it fell out f their ass...lo, although we have a few here who do!!...loll
How have I never heard this before???? I couldn't believe my ears. This is amazing, I cried. Every bit of this is just beautiful.
❤
I listen to this jam EVERY SINGLE DAY. Sometimes twice. It has completely entrapped me within the notes. Love that very talented man.
Rena, I also have to listen to this at least 3-4 times a week!

Been listening to all the greats in head music since 68! Now at 77 yrs old, I find Van the man! What a treat this is!!😀
I got lucky....found Van. and his group Them in Belfast 59 years ago.Knew he was special then and he has not disappointed since
Under duress mainly due to the U.K. lockdown -Government lack of consideration to prior warnings, waved away they did indeed,Lancet journal because it would cost £175m for research.
But this music helps...
I am 10 years behind you brother. Agree totally
Yep joyful, take a walk, listen on head phones, and get transported..in the groove, happy
This is what pure joy sounds like.
This a shamanic masterpiece. Thank you,Van, for sharing your gift so generously.
Can't believe I've never heard this tune before. He's the man..............how amazing is this.
I stumbled upon this by complete accident-never heard it before-and I'm having a Van-gasm.

I can relate. Traveling and letting the you tube select and damn did they do good. In my eyes (&ears) this is right up there with Neils Down by the River. Don't get no better!
Yeah
Blessed ,that I was born in Belfast and followed Van...and Them, all those years ago and a fervent follower of Van since then.
Sound quality is amazing.🎶🎶🎶🎶have listened to this so many times.
Im in my 30's Just now discovering Neil Young, Van Morrison and everything around that, if i have kids ill make sure this makes it into their ears early on so they can carry it onto the next generation
You must! Best music of my generation! Glad you found it and are learning 😉
