It brings me back to Frisco in 1969. Was sent to study instead I hang out with Santana living in my backyard. Those were my happy days at Golden State Park and Cliff House. Tripping every single day. Sunshine of course were my favorite 💓😍😊
It is April 2022, and I am 68 years old. This brings back great memories. I heard this one when the album was released, and I was really into the instrumental solos of groups like Rare Earth and Iron Butterfly, to name two. Our FM station would play entire songs as well as albums. Of course, now we can stream anything, anytime!
I used to own that Iron Butterfly album and my sister owned this Rare Earth album. But a song taking up one side of a 33-1/3 album was something artists did back in the day. I had Don McLean's American Pie album, which I still think is his best stuff. On the B side he had Vincent, The Spirit of Fatima, Empty Chairs and Babylon. I LOVED that album.

This album was one of 4 cassette tapes that became the soundtrack of a fabulous road trip to New Orleans in 1972. I feel 19 again, every time I hear it. Watching the record spin reminds me of what a ritual it was to get a new album and read every word on it, locking the lyrics in forever.
I am turning 80 years old, and I still enjoy listing to this music. Brings back great memories of the past. Love you all who listen to this great music.
I lived in the Rare Earth musical days and It was a great experience. I was lucky enough to see the band with Peter Horrelbeck as drummer and lead vocalist. He was a huge part of the groups iconic status. They were incredible.

My then girlfriend bought tickets for the early 1972 Rare Earth Tour concert at the Charleston Gilliard Auditorium. I didn't expect much because I was used to Led Zeppelin, Uriah Heep, Alice Cooper, The Who, et. al, and Rare Earth was more of a top 40 genre. But I have to say that they gave one of the best concerts ever! I believe Gil Bridges was their saxophonist that played two saxophones simultaneously that night. These Detroit Rockers earned my respect forever!!!

This song converted me to rock and roll in the early seventies! The first time I heard this was on the car radio of some guy training me on door to door selling as we were going to our next appointment. My jaw dropped open! Wow! Believe it or not, it was after catching up on all the rock I had been missing in my early life, I found out about the Beatles after...they had broken up. The drum at the end is just fantastic. The audience cheering in the background, just incredible! Glad it's here on RUclips.
One of the best songs ever. Sax solo, drum solo, this whole song rocks every time I listen to it. I will be 70 this year, but only as old as you feel. This song turns back the clock a bit.
My friend is an audio engineer and I had him setup up my stereo system in the house and he needed a song to check the sound and I said "I have the right one" and when the first note played I just turned it up all the way and I opened the front door and raised all the windows closed the phone and we sat in the backyard. I closed my eyes and with my hands behind my head and sailed away in through the outdoor.
I agree with 'walterhoward1554. I am also 73 and am truly glad for the opportunity to listen to great music during the late 60s and early 70s. It had been a while since I had listened to Rare Earth and had forgotten this performance. All talented musicians! What a treat to listen once again!

My sister and brother in law gave me the Rare Earth double live album for Christmas when I ws twelve. Still have it as well as several other classic albums they gave me over the years. Thanks sis for exposing me to so much good music over the years.

I loved this band, takes me back to my youth. I remember thinking I have my whole life ahead .Never a better time & never felt better. Dancing & carrying on. I'm 67 now. Where'd the time go!🤯

special song... i was only 5 years, a small kid. Those drums sounds great, that saxophone, that bass riff! Those were the times ...fantastic
It brings me back to Frisco in 1969. Was sent to study instead I hang out with Santana living in my backyard. Those were my happy days at Golden State Park and Cliff House. Tripping every single day. Sunshine of course were my favorite 💓😍😊
En ese año estaba yo naciendo. Pero creo que ya lo traía bajo el brazo. Me facinas está obra de arte.❤🎉

Cette musique me rappelle mon enfance en 71. Inoubliable en 2023.
Tout à fait d'accord avec ce point.
Good old day's my friend. I'm 71 and remember this as if happened today. Love this and Iron Butterfly. Much happy memories!
Ahhhh, Rare Earth brings back many memories
But I'm 66 yet
Right on, Donna. Just turned 67 this month and I used to blast the 45 thru my Fender guitar amp for the neighborhood out my bedroom window! Thanks.

Fue y será la megor música de la historia de los años 60 to 70 o
Es correcto tenia 20 años. Maravillosos recuerdos. Únicos años d oro no hay más se puede vailar y escuchar q años

Bass solo is amazing and way ahead of its time.
I saw Rare Earth live at Madison Square Garden. They opened for Sly and The Family Stone. When I realized the drummer was the singer I was blown away.
Beautiful song ❤️🤍Hello from Scotland🏴How are you doing today? I hope it's been a great year so far?

Give that drummer some. In fact, let him have it all. This is classic rock music. One and only Rare Earth
I lived in the Rare Earth musical days and It was a great experience. I was lucky enough to see the band with Peter Horrelbeck as drummer and lead vocalist. He was a huge part of the groups iconic status. They were incredible.
Heard this version for the first time today. I'm 50 years old. This is just great. It takes new music and kicks it to the curb.

In 2 months I turn 62, and I'm so grateful I grew up in the era I did with the great music we all had. to this day when I listen to any of the songs from back in the late 60's to 70's I am transported back in time and wish I had a time machine to go back.Truly!! This song was one of them that got me going! Look out baby!!! Get ready!!!! Ooooohhhhhhhhhh..... sing it baby...
Peggy, please take me with you in your time machine. Like you, I grew up in the wrong era and missed all of the GREAT music. Then it was music, now it is just noise pollution.

Dont you just love it when you get those kinds of musical surprises. I do.
Que música Dios mío!!! Tengo 65 años y todavía sigo disfrutando de esta linda música. Gracias por mostrarlo. Desde Chile un abrazo fraterno para mis hermanos americanos y a todos que gustan de estas lindas melodías.

Oh!! Your so right my friend, music is a time machine because every time I listen to my classic rock music I slip away into the past. What a shame now the junk they call music in 2020.
69 years young and I will admit I spent many a night in an altered state listening to this one.
Me too ❤️🌹🎶🎼🎵
Me too!! What is an "altered state"??? Wasn't that the norm? It was for me!! lol
Aug 69. When you start seeing the musical notes dance out of the speakers in assorted colors and keeping the beat let me know. i watched the music dance for the entire Beatles White Album. A 1/4 tab lasted for three days.

We formed a band in high school because of these guys and the music they put out. I was the lead singer and we started every party we played at with 'Get Ready!'

It was 1970, Tabb Intermediate school, Hampton, Va. My best friend played this drum routine at assymbly, the whole school was mesmerized I'm 68 now and still remember it as it was yesterday. It was, awesome then and now...
Hope you're still rockin it Eddie B...
And here I thought Rare Earth was just soul/Motown cover band. This is truly magnificent.
I have been trying to tell people...this is the best Get Ready, but they won't let go of the Temptations, which I love but you just have to give it up to this group. @@blueeyedfox2009 and besides the temps weren't songwriters or a proper band per se though in the 70s they moved away from the Motown formula; whereas rare earth was a gruff n heavy r&b band that leaned heavily on rock and psychedelia. Rare earth wins the get ready war fo sho.

Glad it's here on RUclips.
depends on what you call rock and roll cause this is really R&B.
