Elvin has always had a big following in the northwest. When he played an all ages ( no alcohol) club downtown Bremerton once, I accompanied him to a bar down the street for a cold one on his break

Man!!! Saw Elvin back n the day w ZZ Top!! We took some LSD n could not find our car after the show!! This was in the 70's!!! All cool we all talked are way around the arena til we found the car... good thing cause much time had passed lol, so all good!!! Man!!! Feel, Old school!!

Old School Elvin Bishop scored the highest SAT score in his state of Oklahoma in his high school. He attended Will Rogers High School in Tulsa, class of either 1959 or 1960.
He was a winner of a national merit scholarship in physics went to the university of chicago
I had always thought that MR. Bishop was a pop performer. I'm 65 and the blues has always been my music. Had no idea he was a veteran blues man.
Yeah, well if you are into blues you should know he was in Paul Butterfield Blues Band with Mike Bloomfield back in the 60s, every blues fan knows that.

Caught Elvin a few times at club gigs and Elvin knows how to ((ROCK)) THE HOUSE!!
One of those gigs, I spoke to Elvin and stumped him on one of his own songs.
I asked if the song "Midnight Creeper" was on his set list.
Elvin replied "Is that 'MY SONG?'. I said " It's on your 'HOG HEAVEN' album". After thinking about it for about 10 seconds, he said "Oh wow, that's one of my ANCIENT songs, naw, my band don't know my OLD stuff, but don't worry, I'll play something you like". I said "Elvin, I love all your stuff, Midnight Creeper is just one of my favorites of yours". To which he replied "Good to know I have a fan of the stuff I forgot" and he laughed.

thank ya for this gem of Elvin doing what he does well, jokes, takes that great old talk into being the most interactive talkin blues ya can fine. Always different each time in words, interaction but lordy his he plays mean guitar, timin just right tight in the right places, givin and givin call and respond with reality! have always been an Elvin Bishop chicago blues lover this is fine!!!

Is that Ed Early on back up vocals? If it is it's great to see him alive and still kicking. I had cool experience with Ed and old quitar player friend named Gypsey. The three of us had a little casual jam in my living room many year ago. These to guys were pros and I never made to 'The Garage' But that made me rise to the occasion and jacked up my chops. Still haven't made it out of the way living room!
