On elon musk being autistic… it’s important not to prop him up as a successful disabled person. He does not identify as autistic- he identifies as someone with Asperger’s, a diagnosis that has not existed since 1984 and is tied closely with eugenics. He also believes in curing disability.
Exactly - being disabled and being a horrible person are not mutually exclusive, and being disabled does not excuse you from the concequences of being a horrible person. As an autistic person I genuinley do not care that he is autistic - he's a white supremacist and a horrible person, and to me that's what he is. He should be treated as such.
Not to defend Elon because there are plenty of reasons to hate him regardless of how he refers to his identity, but Aspergers was still used in some places a lot more recently than 1984 depending on provider education and insurance requirements. A friend was diagnosed with it around 2007 and she still uses that label because she doesn't want to go back to have her diagnosis updated. For her and other women in my area, Aspergers was a label that doctors were willing to give women, so it was their lifeline to supports that they desperately needed. They would never have been given an autism diagnosis but they needed supports; in some ways, I think the loss of Aspergers as a diagnosis harms people in my community because now there is no diagnosis for women (until we succeed in getting people to recognize autism as impacting women too). My parents didn't want to acknowledge my abnormality so I didn't get any diagnosis, and as such I prefer "Autism" and that's the diagnosis I'm seeking, but I do think that if someone has an outdated diagnosis that they like/feel adequately described by and supported with, I'm not really sure it's my place to tell them they can't use that diagnosis.
@@kinseylise8595 while I empathise, if Asperger’s was used as a diagnosis in this time it was in violation of the dsm, and that doctor is uneducated. Same applies to diagnoses of ADD- that doesn’t exist, it’s just adhd. Additionally, it is impossible to seperate this diagnosis from its namesake, and therefore Aktion t4. Yes, autism criteria has problems- it is based around a young, white, upper middle class boy. This means many people struggle- women, obviously, but also any masking autistic, primarily poc, gender non conforming and anyway who is older than 10. The solution is education of autism assessor’s and society as a whole, not reclaiming the name of a literal not-see. (Pronounce out loud for meaning, I don’t want my comment to vanish). Yeah, I support however people wish to identify, but Asperger’s as a diagnosis is inherently ableist, it’s separating autistic people by how well they can mask, by what labour they can produce, and is a literal divide between those worthy of life, and those… not.

To agree and add to what is being said in op - being disabled, in this case autistic, and being a horrible person are not mutually exclusive. You can still be autistic and do horrible things to people intentionally, and being autistic does not absolve you from facing the concequences of those actions. We should be holding people like Elon accountable for the things that hes done regardless of whether he's autistic or not.

@@kwowka I see what you mean, and I do agree that the end goal here is providers doing their jobs properly and being properly educated so they can provide the up to date diagnoses. That being said, I'm happy to see someone being diagnosed as having Aspergers if they have no other option. The terrible origins of the name are not preventing it from connecting autistic women to resources that they would otherwise be refused. I don't think this is a situation that we want to remain around forever, but until we can fix the access issue, the stopgap of Aspergers diagnoses was sorely needed. Now women in my community just get diagnosed with nothing and sent on their way without supports. I would rather they be given a name of terrible origin and implication that still provides them help, than that we avoid using the name but leave actual disabled people without any supports. We agree on the ideal but I think we might disagree on which step to take first when moving towards it. My primary goal is to get people access to the supports they need, even if we have to give them an outdated or ideologically loaded title. I can't get any kind of diagnosis as it stands because that's what I would've been given and they don't give it any longer, so I am one of the people living without the supports I need because other people prioritized removal of the diagnosis with a bad name over comprehensive provider education.

The capitalist class does not care because the existence of homeless people is by design. Capitalists use homeless people to scare the employed into subordination. The employed are discouraged from speaking out about anything in the workplace because they might get fired and end up like the homeless guy down the street.

Especially from friends (I have a pin but it’s tiny so people don’t know until I tell them). I’m okay with my afab body most of the time, but I am. just super confused as to people see me and think ‘girl’. It’s rough.

we were gonna get sports bras from Walmart but they really only have the athletic preppy girly deisgn ones so we had to head online find the ones we like (cotton fruit of the loom in 6 colors), we got 2 packs so we'll have enough for a good while :] we also got 2 shirts, a star wars one and a creeper one! we don't like star wars we just like the design the shirt had, and we fucking LOVE creeper shirts cause they're always the cutest designs :33 creepers are a big comfort for us, we love their silly faces and even though the explosions do startle us we still think creepers are.adorable :333 we also got more of the ambiguous frozen dairy desserts! we wanted to get chocolate vanilla but the only tub of it had ice cream spillage on the lid and there weren't any other tubs of it in stock so we just got mint chocolate and cookies and cream. thank god our dad's Amazon account is signed in on our phone. made the process really easy. (we are aware of Amazon supporting isntrael, we don't use it often and we tried to find sports bras at Walmart even in the women's section, but again they didn't have the brand so we had to turn to this as a last minute save.) we have the info for our sports bras memorized so we'll know for the next time we need to get more :] - 🛸+🔧+🥧(jeSUS that's a lot of ppl fronting .)

So fucking tired rn. Keep having trauma related nightmares for the past 5 days, and yesterday I stayed up the entire night and only got about 3 minutes of sleep. (My brain woke me up when the dream started) and tonight I got about 4 hours of sleep, except it wasn’t rlly sleep. I could still hear everything around me, but everything was black despite my lights being on, and I couldn’t see the light thru my eyelids. What’s worse is my brain would only replay memories of the trauma and the dreams :(

I've had trauma related nightmares before myself, but I know I've had them way less frequently than you have. a few days ago (I commented about this on this channel on a previous video) I had a horrible nightmare and I didn't specify it. it was basically showing these c0rpses based on the ways I expected myself to game over when I had depression recently. it's terrifying. I don't know what exactly you are going though, but please believe me when I say I understand your uncomfortable relationship with sleep. not knowing whether you will be able to get the sleep you need, being scared to fall asleep. please take care ❤

one of my best friend is going to have to move away in two months. they’re moving across the country and we can’t to anything about it. i’ve been making them a going away present but i have so much schoolwork and it’s hard to focus with everything going on. how’s your guys days going?
it will be hard, but youll get over it at some point. if you can stay in contact and have more or at least the same amount you had with them itll help a lot. just calling or messaging while doing homework or just at home will help a lot. my cousins were my only support system and i had no one other than family and they were ripped away from me too and left to across the country. it will get better.

I haven't been sleeping well since I ran out of one of my meds. We're trying to get me off of that one anyway so we didn't restock right away but now my legs are twitching involuntarily so my parents say they'll pick some up and I can just progressively get lower and lower doses

@@aaaa.non-battery well for me i can eat one meal then don't eat for the next day as im still full? from it & sometimes my hunger cue just doesn't click immediately until i have signs ( like the shakes i mentioned ) & tbh, im more of a snack person so tht will carry me thru out.
& as for drinks , i barely drink water until it's v cold or w a different thing like powdered ice tea or i just go by the water filter & drink some sometimes.

Hi there! A few more ducks because they look so silly
First up the, ruddy Duck- it has a light blue beak and bright orange feathers.
Barrow’s Goldeneye- it’s has a bright yellow eye, it’s slightly terrifying, in a good way, kinda.
Northern Pintail - not colorful but really pretty! They are a pale greyish brown.
Pacific Black Duck- it’s so beautiful, it’s got blueish purple patches under its wings ( you’ll need to find a photo of it mid flight if you wanna see it :D ) and a grey body.
Harlequin Duck - it’s orange black and white, very vibrant! :)
Hooded Merganser- it’s also got terrifying eyes, but this time it’s also have a huge head, very goofy looking.
Red shoveler- it’s also for really weird eyes ( what’s with the eyes on these silly little guys? ) and it’s got like a cheetah pattern on its body.
That concludes today’s list of silly creatures.

Hi everyone!!! Im getting back into skating again and its really fun :)
oc ramble incoming, i'll try to keep it short
so, i wanna talk about one of the most significant events for many of the characters. it happened about 20 years before the story is set. i think i may have mentioned it before
it was basically an massive accident at this research facility, that was researching this disease (that i really don't know how to describe well). samples of different strains of the disease infected a few of the scientists who worked there but luckily it was contained very quickly, meaning it didn't infect anymore people.
a lot of the story is affected by this accident, like a few character motivations and backstories

@@aksdasjs I love it so much! It’s actually a rewrite of Lorien Legacies/Maximum Ride/Six Minutes-inspired world I created a couple of years ago! Originally the apocalypse was more like floods/wildfires/earthquakes etc., but I watched a cool SMP (Winterfall Archives on YT) and got inspired! It’s set five years after the end of the world, with several hybrid/magic characters with a focus on morally-grey characters (the main few are, like, aliens who want to save the world by turning everyone into aliens and warming it back up via their fire powers). It’s very neurodivergent/queer focused as well because I wanna see cool avians like me :3

Like it is literally impossible for one human being to do that much in one sitting. Any teacher who’s ever told you they knew someone who OD’d on weed was a liar I’m not saying there are no side effects to weed. Everyone reacts to it differently, but it is literally almost impossible to OD unless you could do all that and you would be passed out asleep before you could even get halfway there.

Currently, Israel is committing a genocide against the Palestinian people. Israel is also inflicting an apartheid system on Palestinians. Hamas, the armed Palestinian resistance group, has been fighting back against Israel. Hamas wants to reclaim the land that Israel stole from Palestinians, wants to end Israeli colonization of Palestine, wants to end their apartheid, and wants to stop their genocide. The United States is also funding and arming Israel's genocide against the Palestinian people. That's an oversimplified summary of what's happening currently. Along with duolingo, if you’re able to take classes, take classes. I’m learning so it might be different but when you’re able to read the alphabet read a book (graphic novel preferably) that you know really well in Russian. I’m also learning Japanese and the best I can say is just keep reading and practicing. The more you read the more things you’ll recognize
Listening to movies/songs with the language you’re trying to learn can be helpful! If you don’t feel comfortable listening to them in the language you are trying to learn yet, you could also use subtitles in the language you’re trying to learn to get used to the grammar and vocab!
Once you’ve got a pretty good grasp on the language you could read books/short stories in the language to see how it’s used practically/ in an informal way.
Podcasts are also good! Duolingo ( I’m sure some other places have some too ) have a few on some languages and they have transcripts that you can read along to as well!
And like everyone else says duolinog is great ( I personally use it ) but there should be a few other apps ( some might be free ) that are good too! I find they are really good for vocab and grammar memorisation, they might be a little lacking in the speaking/pronunciation aspects but those can be made up for with the other stuff I mentioned.
And if you want to use it in practice you could probably find some communities that are learning it too. But if you can’t find those, and feel that you could hold a decent convo in your language, you could try switching some multiplayer games ( preferably just text based ones at first ) to the language you’re learning.
